    • Why are these slopeheaded leftards so dense that they can’t figure out the problem is with government not guns?

Sure, I’d be happy to live in in a culture where guns became obsolete because they were no longer needed, but we are so far from that Unicorn and Rainbow paradigm of theirs, that all they are doing is interfering with any viable solution. These panty-wetting, histrionic liberals are so eager for a quick fix, they are willing to completely ignore the politics of the last 100 years and never once question why their progeny are being selectively “dumbed down” instead of educated.

And then people like Stephanie Lundy demand to be treated as equals. For Christ’s sake, Stephanie, grow a pair of at least ovaries. Stay out of politics until you do, because it seems that being barefoot and pregnant is already too much of a challenge for you.

  1. “Massacre of 1st graders? In Texas? Sorry, ladies y’all are in the wrong state. Bankrupt, slave states are north and east or further west. Here, I’ll help you carry your signs. Don’t let the door hit your asses on the way out.”

  2. Here is the preceding paragraph;

But supporters of tighter restrictions —specifically, of universal background checks — on guns find carrying weapons in places like shopping malls or busy city streets ill advised. Even though Moms Demand Action and its members do not have an official stance on the legality of open carry, they are put off by the provocative nature of armed demonstrations.

We’re “ill advised” and “off puting” one breath, “disgusting child murderers” the next.

    • the sounds like a softening of their stance, believe it or not. I say Mark Glaze and Emily Miller the other day on Fox and he sounded oddly… reasonable, promoting gun locks not technology. I highly doubt though this is a permanent softening. Mayors Against Illegal Guns wants to make guns illegal, the people pulling the strings have not changed, so I doubt the group will either.

  3. Why is it so hard to understand…. good guys with guns stop bad guys with guns. The average cop is no more mentally stable than an average “civilian”. I would argue they are even less stable because they can end up dealing with mind corrupting issues, not to mention being a cop tends to attract sociopaths and arrogant assholes *not all, but it does seem like there are a lot of them*.

So again, why is it okay for cops to have fully auto rifles, “sniper rifles”, mraps, etc….?

    • And half the stories about irresponsible gun use on this site seemingly involve a cop. Didn’t a Utah cop lose track of a select-fire M16 a few months ago?

    • The official stats are very clear; cops are 3 to 4 times more likely to commit a felony crime than a citizen with a CCL.

It is something that doesn’t fit the agenda of the statist leftist types to acknowledge that as a group, law abiding citizens carrying a gun can be trusted more to obey the law than their state enforcers.

    • If any group is “disgusting”, it would be these people. They enable homicidal maniacs to commit mass murder with impunity. They sacrifice our children on the altar to their demi-gods of government.

They worship as peasants, peons and outright slaves to feet of their masters; the state. They glory in being made helpless and defenseless to what ever tyrant may abuse them; whether that tyrant is in government or a common criminal in the street.

I feel pity for them. But I will not be disarmed to be made a virtual slave to satisfy their sick need to surrender their body, soul and spirit to their god, the state.

    • They love to go on and on about turning the streets of America “into the Wild West!”

Leaving aside the Hollywood exaggerations of the “Wild West”, Haven’t these people ever actually WATCHED a TV or cinema western? It is ALWAYS the good guy with a gun, often a vigilante, and a rallying of the local citizenry into an armed militia that defeats the criminal gang or megalomaniac cattle baron in the end.

Even when it is the Marshall or the Sheriff he is most likely assisted by a posse of spontaneously deputized citizens carrying their own weapons, riding their own horses, eating their own chow.

You would think a bunch from Texas would get this, even if the dandy from New York can’t figure it out.

    • But thats not the underlying problem, the human race WILL continue to breed. The sheer fact that we’re willing allow a mall to be more secure than a school and that they only have a re-active response to people being murdered.

Maybe I misinterpreted your invisible /sarc this morning 🙂

  4. A couple of those folks holding signs look like they REALLY don’t want to be there.

At least they are being more open about the fact that they DO believe that all of us gunbullies are evil child murderers. Can’t have a law abiding citizen owning or carrying a gun because the gun turns us into murderers.

Transparency is a good thing…expose them for what they are.

    • They may not be AstroTurf, but they are definitely sod. (rolls of grass you buy at the hardware store and have delivered and rolled out to create an instant lawn) And everyone know the roots (as in grassroots) in sod are only an inch or two deep.

Perhaps someone should start a Facebook page (I don’t Facebook) called Everytown Sodbusters.

  5. Has anyone done a background check on Kelly? She dresses rather well and I suspect she may be a pro. No, not that I kind of pro. A PR pro. She has a shannon-esqe style/highlights. Just saying.

    • She does seem very polished, compared to the “Moms”. it wouldn’t surprise me if “leadership” of this grassroots organization becomes increasingly staffed by PR professionals…

    • WEEPY-EYED MOMS

You who are dreamers, and hope they’ll come true.
Just say your dreams are the facts, the MSM is behind you.
If you have the soul and the spirit,
Never fear it, you’ll see it thru,
Money can inspire and buy hearts filled with fire,
For the weak obey when a rich man pays the way.

Rent me some Moms who are weepy-eyed Moms,
Who will fight against your right they abhor,
Just buy me ten who are weepy-eyed Fems,
And they’ll claim to be a million or more.
Shoulder to shoulder and boulder to boulder,
Waiving bloody shirts by the score.
There’s nothing the NRA can do to halt our PR plan,
When ten teary-eyed Moms are bused in to make a stand.

Rent me some Moms who are teary-eyed Moms,
Who will fight against your right they abhor,
Just bus in ten who are weepy-eyed Fems,
And the MSM claims ten thousand and more.
Shoulder to shoulder and boulder to boulder,
Waiving bloody shirts by the score.
The Constitution cannot stand against emotional demands,
When teary-eyed Moms are bused all across the land.

  6. @JR “A couple of those folks holding signs look like they REALLY don’t want to be there.”

(I.e. The one old white guy in the back)

Question: Where are all the dads demanding action? I guess their movements only have validation if it’s voices from ol…, scratch that, mature middle class, white women?

  7. My wife and mother of my children demanded action. she sold her wedding ring and bought me my first hand gun when I wasn’t comfortable with a gun being around my little girls. But I teach them gun safety whenever I get a chance now. I now have a few more guns. And she still doesn’t have a “real” wedding ring. Priorities.

  8. How disgusting is it to attempt to disarm law abiding citizens who had nothing to do with a heinous crime committed by a psychopath.

    • Speaking of sociopaths…

Does anyone have access to the statistic of how many citizens of New York City were shot and/or killed while Bloomberg was mayor and his massive police force could not/did not protect them?

Even 500 per year (low-balled) for 8 years is 4,000 “gun violence” victims who mostly stood helpless and disarmed before their assailants. I contend that every one of those is blood on Bloomberg’s hands.

And yet even though I carry every day, and have on and off for forty years, not a drop of the blood on any of the bloody shirts they love to wave is on my hands.

  9. Hmmm but no mention of the recent spat of knife-wielding children slashing and killing their fellow students, huh?

They are so fixated on the gun, they fail to see the forest through the trees.

Just the latest installment of ‘Elitist Urban Soccer Moms for a Fictional World’…

  10. My response to children getting killed is to tool up so I at least have the capability to defend my children. Their response is to disarm and try to disarm others in the face of evil. How disgusting is that?

  11. You need not go to Mom’s demand victimization for quotes like this on open carry. Ask many “pro gun” people and organizations. Wait to see what happens once OC is brought up in Texas at next year’s session. Neoconus Americanus will bear its teeth.

    • Not just teachers. Adults ought not be debarred the bearing of arms on public school property. By disarming the People on public school grounds, it reinforces to young minds that individuals are not responsible for their own safety but government is. It also makes a statement that shall not infringed doesn’t mean what it says.

  12. I am one of the people she is referring to. I am a 2nd ammendment activist and I openly carry my AR-15 in different locations around my area of TEXAS. I don’t do this as a response to the tragedy in Newtown as she claims. I do this because I have children one of whom is a first grader. I have the right to protect them in any way I see fit. I do this because we are trying to show the public not everyone with a gun is a crazed killer. I do this because in my state I want the right to carry my side arm openly instead of having to hide it. I do this because it is my duty to protect the rights I hold so dear so my children my also enjoy freedom and liberty. I do this because the law needs to change in my state because it was written under influence of racist men depriving blacks from those same liberties. I do this because it’s the right thing to do.

  13. No, no, no…don’t “think” about how disgusting that is. “Feel” how disgusting that is. Thinking is bad, it leads to insight and original ideas.

In a related note, she must hate cops, what with their disgusting open carry.

  14. Take a close look at that picture.

Those aren’t mom-age women. Those are grandma-age women. Only three of the women in that shot look to be of reproductive age.

They are not moms. They are upper middle class post- menopausal empty nesters.

They look like women of this age whose kids have flown the coop or who never had kids and now have plenty of idle time to take on a new pet.

    Or a pet project.

    • Wish we had a “thumbs-up” icon, I’ll have to make do with a “+1”. Hell, the chief “mom” herself, Shannon, has no actual children among her offspring now.

  15. Maybe someone in her family or her self will meet with evil in the near future & then wish they were armed & prepared@

  16. I’d like to ask the members of MDA what they would do if they were at a mall, or restaurant, or a school, or some other public place, and there was a bad guy committing acts of violence.

My suspicion is … they’d call 911 for help. As far as I understand it, this would mean that they are requesting GOOD GUYS WITH GUNS to come help stop the violence.

Logically … you’d think that if a responsible gun owner – a normal member of the public who carries a firearm with them as they go about their normal business – happened to already be on the scene, then that person could help to stop the violence before many more people are injured or killed.

    But maybe that’s just me.

    • (1) “Logically” They don’t have that gene. It’s all emotion, and manufactured emotion at that.

      (2) “responsible gun owner” They don’t acknowledge such a thing exists.

We are ALL evil criminals just waiting to prey on the innocent lambs of society in their eyes. They absolutely HATE us for daring to speak of “personal responsibility” and other similar non-progressive values.

      • Yup–the only “good guys with guns” they recognize are the cops–ie the enforcers of the nanny state they are so enamored of.

  17. Look, I’m gonna tell you all what the real deal is with “Moms Demand Action” they really need action, like some sexual action, the kinda sexual healing actions there limp dik husbands gave never given them. They just need to go to a gun convention and get some loving.

  18. I have seen liberals so one sided, which shows me there ignorance, the group I see above are one of the same. Our fore fathers created docunments and these were initiated to keep this country a Republic and to reassure the citizens from our government and groups like these. Our second amendment is one that is most important. I guess they can do what ever they want to, but they cannot and will not interpret these documents to fit their agenda. Carry of a firearm is our legal right and no one can change that. Let’s all keep vigilant on our rights and prepare to defend them for our children and grandchildren, we will not fold and float away. Be strong out there, watch your flank and rear.

  19. Well, I did it. I thought, and I did not come to the same conclusion. I am not disgusted, I am comforted at the thought of an educator, armed and trained, with the potential to protect my daughter. I am worried this woman would work to deny anyone the right to access to the tools for self defense.

  20. Those are the best Bloomberg could recruit? The short-hair pin-stripe-suit seems like a generic pushy broad. Is she referring to Sandy Hoax? Ever look into the details of Sandy Hoax? I wonder if she’d like to see a presentation on the anomalies surrounding that event? Probably not. She looks very busy with her own agenda… which is what, disarm every US citizen? Why does that notion not make me feel secure?

  21. The problem I have is that I keep hearing about ‘Everytown’ and ‘Moms against’ and ‘Bloomberg’ etc. We only seem to have the NRA.

I’m from Europe but I joined the NRA to help the fight for decent American gun owners. The only problem is that I feel the NRA are not getting their voice across in the right way.

We need something like ‘Pause for common sense honest, decent gun owners’ or something. We need tweets and likes and all that shit. We need to get out message seen everywhere.

We need good spokespersons that use calm, reasoned arguments. No radical stuff it doesn’t fly these days.

Us decent, fair, honest citizens need to have a strong front. Someone tell me what’s been done outside of the NRA?

  22. And, if by “this is their response to the massacre of first-graders” she means carrying a gun to shoot anyone in the face who tries to hurt my first grader, then yes, that is my response.

  23. A bit of a side issue–I was afraid it wouldn’t be, but the article is worth reading. It has the most succinct and correct description of Texas laws on firearm carry–long guns and handguns– I have seen. It only missed a couple of points, that really are kind of esoteric: Texas law does not specifically address any distinction between “visible” and concealed carry of long guns at all. Presumably, if a long gun is concealed it is by definition not going to cause alarm. (and yes, I could see how a legal-sized shotgun could be concealed underneath an overcoat or carried in a duffle or some such). The other is the ‘motor vehicle’ exception to the license requirement for having a concealed handgun “on or about” your person. But overall, an excellent description.

  24. While certainly left leaning, the Texas Tribune is better than most new sources in my opinion for its accuracy and doing research.

  25. Once upon a time, a person wisely noted that the best response to speech that was vile, hurtful or criminal was… more, better speech.

I’d say the same philosophy could be extended to the Second Amendment.

  26. Yes, how dare we respond to the massacre of children by taking steps to *protect* them. It’s almost like we think we’re free citizens of a free country with both the right and the duty to protect ourselves and each other.

  27. I would think that one or more individuals open carrying at the time would probably have prevented a massacre of these children.
