“The lives of women and children who were murdered at home or people who committed suicide because of the availability of guns are not worth less than the lives of victims of terror.” – Member of Knesset (Israeli Parliament) Tamar Sandberg in New Knesset caucus calls to ease Israel gun controls to fight terror [via jpost.com]

    • You’d have to be pretty hardcore anti-gun to kill yourself because of “the availability of guns”. Seems like something strange to be THAT depressed about. 😉

      • There must be something wrong with me. Availability of guns cheers me up when I’m feeling down. Never had the slightest urge to commit suicide because a gun was near.

        • Ditto that!
If I’m feeling a little down, I pull out cleaning lube supplies and a good job of cleaning & luberacation of each handgun. Cleaning & especially shooting is major Zen Zone activity.

  1. Well, murdering aquaintances and killing oneself is very easy to accomplish with any number of items including no items whatsoever.

Unfortunately such ease does not translate to stopping a homicial maniac unloading a rifle into a bus full of passengers. Try getting that attacker to swallow a bunch of pills or put a noose around his neck or climb into the bath with a toaster.

So lets make it far more difficult if not impossible for folks to stop acts of terror while doing absoutely nothing to prevent suicides and aquaintance assaults because, you know, guns and childdren and women and fear and whatever other trigger word.

  2. After applying, then a mental and physical check, range qualification, there is this…

“Once a licensee orders a firearm, he or she may get a one-time supply of 50 bullets, which may not be renewed”.

Sooo, no more practice after you win the lotto by getting a permit?

  3. She apparently has a history of delusional dingbattery

A great Israeli assistance package out of the Republican Congress would require that they adopt our 2nd amendment. Call it the Israeli Defense Assurance Measure. No individual right to arms = you’re not serious about surviving as a nation = no more military assistance from Uncle Sugar.

    • Yep. Just yesterday we all wrote off California. Isreal? Get your shit together. We’re doing our best to get Conservatives in power in the U.S. but foriegn aid should not be automatic.

    • The U.S. government does not support civilian firearms ownership in foreign countries. They probably wish they could also strip us entirely of our RKBA here at home, but that old piece of paper can’t shredded as easily as rights allowed by the state.

  4. I find it interesting that living in a virtual war-zone is not considered “good reason” to own a gun by Israeli liberals. Me thinks some people need to brush up on their history.

    • And their present.

Good grief. If Israel’s present State of Being is not reason for every citizen to own firearms in this lady’s mind, there never will be one. Statist controller doesn’t even care if her own State ceases to exist? Just wild.

      • I think anti-gun Jews need to go to Poland and take a walking tour of Treblinka as a reminder of what happens when you let government disarm people. I did my own tour back in the early 90s as a teenager and given the number of Slavs Hitler’s jackbooted thugs gassed right alongside the “Juden” it more or less set my belief in limiting state power whenever possible.

  5. So what is the acceptable body count for terrorism? Perhaps if you let the Palestinians know how many Jews the can kill over a set period of time, everyone can coexist, right?

    • Reminds me of an early Star Wars episode. The belligerent planets would hold war games and after a battle they would determine how many on each side would have died if the battle had been real. They then rounded up that many people at random and pushed them into disintegration chambers. Very neat solution – no damages to repair. I’m pretty sure Kirk talked them out of it at the end.

  6. So, is she the official president of the Israeli chapter of Moms Demand Action? Shannon (Bloomberg) have a mouthpiece in Israel to ‘validate’ their own corrupt thinking here?

  7. Don’t you just love how these rats like to say such things to make others think they are so insightful and caring while shoving an agenda down their throats? Weasels.

  8. I find it interesting that that leftists talk so much about the relative “worth” of people when discussing policy.

  9. Make a gif with an American flag and “bought by Bloomberg” text and the circle is complete. Secret international gun control conspiracy exposed! Or not.

  10. “The way to deal with a security problem is not to give guns to civilians and tell them to work it out on their own,” she said.”

Might be true. Consider however when a terrorist murders an Israeli’s they die on their own.

  11. The gun laws I read about Israel are contrary to what I actually see when in Israel. I’ve spent a lot of time there (not enough, I love the place) and I see people carrying everywhere. Yes, many are soldiers, but at every bus stop and train station there are civilians with Uzi’s and ARs just going about their day. Are they all just from the settlements, or what?

    • Depends. They could be. Or from other areas deemed “high risk” (where isn’t? lol).
Some could still be soldiers out of uniform. Certain paper pushers types get issued Uzis or other older weapon platforms.

And plenty do have permits. So it could be private citizens.

  12. The Jewish state of Israel is a socialist country. In other words it is a left wing leaning government. No private gun ownership allowed. You are not required to be a nice person to have a gun.
The American second amendment applies to all law abiding citizens. This includes racist KKK or racist of any group.
Will the Jewish socialist allowed Arab isreal citizens have guns???? Will the christians who live there by the thousands be allowed to have guns? ???

    • A result of Ashkenazi supremacy unfortunately.

Yes everyone should be allowed. Many far right parties support this principal. At the very least everyone who served in the military should be allowed. And yes that Includes Christians and Muslims who serve.

  13. It’s better to to add together homicides, terrorist murders and lump in suicides than to allow people to defend themselves against terrorist murders…she must have taken lessons from Nancy Pelosi in being a dingbat. Hope she’s in the Minority in Israel

  14. The kick is good – it’s going – going – going to be close! – and it’s WIDE TO THE LEFT!

It is such a simple thing: if individual safety is desired, if it is a good thing, then individuals should have the choice to use whatever means necessary (within otherwise legal limits) to achieve that goal. I add “within otherwise legal limits” just to preclude the idea of a preemptive strike on a neighborhood across town that seems to generate a lot of hoodlums. Probably.

Irving Kristol once said, “When we lack the will to see things as they really are, there is nothing so mystifying as the obvious.”

  15. My life is worth more than Billy Badass kicking in my door at late o’clock. That has happened in my neighborhood of nice homes in suburbia. A life’s value is based on how it is spent by the decisions one makes. Or how it is wasted.

  16. Another Ashkenazi Kapo. Surprise, Surprise.

Israel needs more guns on the street not less. I served in the IDF. Nearly all soldiers go on their weekend leave with their firearms.

Then they get out of the military and suddenly the government thinks their incompetent? Literally one of the dumbest policies in any country on Earth. Makes ZERO sense. That’s why I laughed when people actually got mad at Ted.

And if people want to kill themselves then they are going to do it. And hell yes that’s different than that mother who helplessly watched her 14 month old get stabbed to death.

  17. “The lives of victims of terror are not worth less than the lives of women and children who were murdered at home or people who committed suicide because of the availability of guns.”
    FIFY

    • Ya beat me to it. Yes, exactly this.

Which begs the question, why are deaths incidental to trying to defend ones’ self such terrible things, while deaths from just being killed, on purpose by BGs are not. (Admitting the premise for sake of argument, only.)

Because they tried. The crime here is trying; acting like it’s your life; doing anything at all to take care of yourself.

  18. I admit, it took me some time to figure out what the heck she was saying in that quote. I felt like I was I was struggling to open up an Easter egg only to find the prize inside was a piece of rabbit turd.

  19. “Referring to mass shootings in the US, where gun control is looser than in Israel, Zandberg said: “’The moment guns are allowed, we can’t know where things will go. Guns, first of all, are used to kill.’”

Maybe I’m crazy, or maybe I’m not and it’s just that when I became a man I put away childish things, but I just don’t get these anti-gunners who are so pro-government. After all, government’s entire relevance is that its mandates are backed threat of force by men with guns.

Who are these fanciful Tooth Fairy followers who believe that guns in the hands of uniformed agents of the state are automatically just and wholesome, while guns in the hands of invested citizens of the nation are kaleidoscopic imps compelling their owners to commit mayhem at any moment?

I tend to assume such leaders are evil and stupid in roughly equal measure, but I might consider a more forgiving explanation that they’re just ignorant and suffering from the illusion of control.

    • ’The moment guns are allowed, we can’t know where things will go. Guns, first of all, are used to kill.’”

Where anti guns roll to a stop is pointing out they’re used to protect as well.

  20. Israelis are talking about disarmament? Man, the puppet masters are going full throttle on civilian disarmament, whilst doubling down on third world, Muslim immigrantion into historically incompatible Western cultures…

Me thinks the global economy is getting harder and harder to prop-up with fiat and borrowing.

Beans, bullets, and bandaids, folks – Rome is circling the drain.

  21. Any act of violence with or without guns is an act of terror.
Self defense and / or defense of others needs to include but not be exclusive to firearms.

  22. “Referring to mass shootings in the US, where gun control is looser than in Israel, Zandberg said: ‘The moment guns are allowed, we can’t know where things will go. Guns, first of all, are used to kill.’”

WHAT?? The mass shootings take place in the “gun free zones”. The moment guns are allowed, we know where things will go. Guns, first of all, are used to suppress violence.

    • There it is: “… Zandberg said: ‘The moment guns are allowed, we can’t know where things will go.”

You, meaning we, meaning not them, are not to be trusted with this (or, eventually any other) power. We’re too dumb, too sloppy, too crazy, too just plain wrong.

“…Guns, first of all, are used to kill.’”

Indeed. This particular power is not to be entrusted to the rest of us. The folks in charge, their minions & protectors, they can have the power to kill. We can’t.

Indeed, having demonstrated that “they” can’t keep us safe from crazies, terrorists and thugs (but I repeat myself), they’d rather we die than have the tools to protect ourselves. We are expendable.

The only thing worth asking in these conversations is: “So, you are OK with me dying so you can feel safer?” There’s two kinds of people in the world, those willing to let you die for their comfort, and those who won’t live at your expense.

Which Zandberg is, is pretty obvious.

  23. Israel manufactures great guns, not great gun laws. Although many Israelis armed by the IDF. their civilian gun laws have more in common with New York City and New Jersey. It is a “may issue” country and had failed to renew many gun permits after the previous intafada died down.
