Quote of the Day: Make The New York Times’ Day Edition

The anti gun crowd never seems to mention the actual reason the second ammendment was included. To prevent government oppression.

And that is why it is called opinion, and not fact.

If you live in a city, then your political leaders have the right to restrict ownership of handguns.

And where is that “right” stated, codified or enumerated?

Political leaders and government entities do not have rights. They have powers and authority which are specifically granted by The People. Anything they do beyond that, is tyranny.

Also I think it is scary he said “your political leaders have the right to restrict ownership of handguns”. The purpose of a free government is to protect the liberty of the people nothing more nothing less. If the government restricts your liberty to defend you they are tyrants. Thomas jefferson said-“when the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty.”

So, let me get this straight. Just in cities? Murders don’t happen anywhere else? Do towns fall under the discription of a city? How about suburbs?

What can we expect from the New York Times? Anyone who wants common sense should read “Grit” or something, not the New York F^cking Times.

Andrew, bite me. The Tag Line goes like this…..”We The People….” The First Ten Amendments, aka The Bill of Rights are not for political debate. These are the rights we are born with as human beings. Rights that were/are abused first by Dictators. If you want my guns, really want my guns. I will hand them to you…one round at a time!

There is one study, the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS), which in 1993, estimated 108,000 DGU’s annually. Why the huge discrepancy between this survey and fourteen others? ”

So only pistols are used to kill people in cities.

Not shotguns.

Not knives.
Not fists.
Not cars.
Not blunt instruments.

Just pistols. By themselves. With no human intervention.

And this man leads the editorial pages of the nations “paper of record”.

Well, at least skimming the comments on his asinine article shows that the majority are pointing out what a moron he is.

Mr.Rosenthal is a typical NY “intellectual”shitmop.

Political leaders used to kill people? Perhaps by boring them to death.

Thank you, New York Times editors, for telling what to think and what to do. I don’t know how I could possibly survive without your constant stream of instructions.

I think he meant to say our “political overlords.” That would be more in tune with lefty thinking.

The first part of that paragraph and the second part can’t coexist. He’s basically saying, “Go ahead and buy a gun, exercise your 2A freedom. Just submit to the government’s attempts to take it away from you.” Get your head out of your ass, bub.

So he’s recommending that we disarm ourselves in an area where he just told us explicitly that there are people who are using guns to kill people, and that we do it in the name of safety.

Brilliant.

It seems odd that an industry so dependent on the First Ammendment takes the A-La-Carte view of the Constitution.

It’s funny, I can summarize that little spiel in two words:

“Register….submit”.

The drumbeat of the liberal left. It still saddens me that they’ve so tarnished the tag “liberal”.
