“When you’ve been given great opportunities–I’m a dad, I’m a brother, I’m a husband, I’m a son–and when you see things where you can help, and you see situations that you can help in, I’m an artist, I’m going to lead with my heart. I lead my life leading with my heart, I do the things that I can do and support the causes that I support, try to help in the areas where I can help, and I do that with my heart. If I have a decision to lead with my head or my heart, I’m going to lead with my heart every time.” – Tim McGraw in Tim McGraw: I’m Leading With My Heart On Gun Control Fundraiser [at breitbart.com]

    • And his fans are leading with their wallets, as in not funding his stupidity. I for one won’t buy any more of his albums or concert tickets!

      • It never fails to amaze me how once people get rich and famous and have a little influence or power, they then want to tell the rest of us (or force the rest of us by using some of their wealth and influence to make laws) to live the way they feel we should live, according to their beliefs.

    • I have seen mother nature fix stupid, they get removed from the gene pool. Mother Nature don’t give a crap, stupid kills.

  1. I am sure that Mr. McGraw would agree: it is also a good thing every time a rapist “leads with his heart” upon seeing an attractive woman.

    • Lol.

That’s right. Rapists and pedos lead with their hearts. Hitler was leading with his heart too. He had a dream and he tried his best to make it happen – and he put his heart into it. He was definitely passionate about his cause.

  2. I cannot help but imagine that millions of Mr. McGraw’s fans will take great exception to Mr. McGraws efforts to disarm them. I hope those fans withdraw their support and McGraw goes bankrupt for attacking our rights.

  3. Another rich white guy with armed security supporting gun confiscation. They always say it’s for a good reason.

    • Understand that today’s ‘artists’ are created. Any talent is secondary to perceived marketability.

Like the D Chicks….. created…..and like the chicks…..now doomed to failure.

Both about as ‘country’ as my Shih Tzu!

      • I like the music of Tim Mcgraw and the Dixie Chicks but white liberals want to stick their noses into the private business of other people. Firearms regulation and gun confiscation are just two of many ways they insert themselves into the the private life of others. They have regulated guns out of the hands of law abiding black people in major america cities. And now they are going after the rest of america.

  4. Oh, and we must hold Mr. McGraw to his own standard. We must demand that Mr. McGraw put his money where his mouth is: he must insure us that his security details absolutely never have firearms … and that Mr. McGraw has no firearms in his home.

  5. To paraphrase a cheesy old joke; what do you get when you play a tim mcgraw song backwards? You get your wife back, you get your kids back, you get your guns back…

  6. I don’t know anything whatsoever about country music made past the 1950’s but going by that picture is the whole genre just one big gay rodeo now?

    • Nah, middle-aged women eat this shite up – the gayer it looks the better – and they will continue to sell out McGraw concerts despite what he says about guns.

Most of his fans are young and middle-aged women, they couldn’t care less about guns.

  7. “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)

“Trusting your heart”, “following your heart” … these are the left’s formulas for disaster.

  8. Quite clear he isn’t leading with his brain, because only an idiot would make a statement that if it’s lead with the heart or the brain, that they lead with the heart. Leading with the heart is fine when you’re a child, but when you’re an adult, you lead with the brain. That doesn’t mean at the expense of the heart, but if you literally lead with the heart, you can end up supporting some of the most destructive policies ever devised by humans.

  9. I’m so tired of “feelings” being the prime motivator for human action. Whatever happened to values, morals, and beliefs founded upon immutable truth?

  10. From Wikipedia:

    Politics

McGraw, a Democrat, has stated that he would like to run for public office in the future, possibly for Senate or Governor of Tennessee, his home state. In the same interview, he praised former President Bill Clinton. He has referred to himself as a “Blue Dog Democrat” and stated that he supported presidential candidate Barack Obama in 2008.

    • I’ve posted this information here umpteen times, but it goes largely unnoticed. Tennesseans know he’s thought about running for years; he’s discussed it openly and repeatedly. My guess is he decided not to for the same reasons George Clooney did: too many women and too many pills (or something else), to quote a famous Aussie rock band.

We ought to clap him on the back, however, for being honest enough to admit he’s just running on feelings, as almost all liberals are, but almost all refuse to admit. They don’t want to be smart if the liberal way feels more compassionate. Funny, though, that our way saves more innocent lives, and saving innocent lives not only is smarter, it IS more compassionate, regardless of how the gun gr…er, I mean, civilian disarmament proponents, feel.

      • Odd thing, too–while the libs pretty much run on feelings to the exclusion of facts and logic, they always seem to harbor the conceit that they are the smartest people in the room.

  11. Communism/marxism, as it’s original idea, feels good. And following their heart, those “useful idiots” empowered mad men like Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and Hitler to murder hundreds of millions of men, women and children.

And gun control is the foundation of this “feel good” heart driven evil belief system.

So go ahead and go with your “heart” Tim. Line up with all the other “Useful idiots” (as per Stalin,) and be at one with the hundreds of millions of the unquiet dead and those, (perhaps over a billion, more?) men, women, and children alive today being raped, tortured and brutalized by governments that have gun control.

  12. He also got all mad that Billy Currington refused to play with him. Good to see people distancing themselves from this gun grabber.

  13. I’m a hell of a good guitarist. I wish I would’ve made a career out of it. Instead I’m a tech at a Co-gen Facility.

When I say or write stupid shit I generally feel, well, stupid afterwards.

But I see things could’ve been different.

  14. Leading with his heart my @ss. More likely his wife is leading him by another part of his anatomy. Sissies like this are why I don’t listen to much country music anymore.

  15. Give the guy a break. It takes great personal courage to destroy your career by pissing off your fan base. Unlike Shannon, who would become a spokeswoman for the NRA for the right price, Tim actually believes what his heart says.

    • I grew up on the west coast in the Bay Area and Santa Cruz. The passionate certitude of the rightness of the Liberal/Progressive beliefs would put to shame most so called Christians.

This is why I know how good it “feels” to follow ones heart, even when leading with good intentions is the road to hell.

      • I guess that needed a tongue in cheek qualifier although I do give the man an actual cheer for his willingness to stand up for what he believes. I wish some important figures on my side would do that.

  16. The whole head/heart thing is ridiculous anyway, as if one’s better than the other. The heart is typically desperately wicked (as mentioned earlier), and the head is typically desperately stupid. Thinking emotionally is fine and good when pursuing romance or weighing wardrobe options, but logical thinking is what’s called for when making concrete decisions and forming true convictions. Deciding to push for the deprivation of the citizens of this nation of their God-given and constitutionally-affirmed right to effective self-defense is an example of where crossing those cognitive streams is a bad thing.

  17. I don’t know which is more irksome about these people: that they recklessly abandon all rational thought in decision making, or that they with saccharine sanctimony brag about their emotion-laden dysfunction.

    • See people, take a lesson. You don’t need Ad hominem attacks to make ones point. Just tell the unvarnished truth.

  18. If people could be trusted to lead with their heads not their hearts all the time, we wouldn’t need a constitution. Or a government.

  19. Maybe if he used his brain…..this is the worst cop out I have ever heard…….if this is what you believe then stand there and say this is what I believe……not some bullshit off a greeting card…….he looks like he is trolling Sunset blvd. ……….what a crock.

  20. The Heart has never been accused of Critical Thinking.

And we all know [or should] that evil flows from the heart “as in the heart desires this and that”, It’s your brain that makes decisions based on experience, advice, or knowledge gained… The heart? um not so much.

  21. If he cared about the children, maybe he should an up and actually defend them instead of turning them AND their parents into sitting ducks? Defective heart is defective. I absolutely hate trash like this…

  22. Jeremiah 17:9New International Version (NIV)

The heart is deceitful above all things
    and beyond cure.
    Who can understand it?

He would be better off using his head, if he had a brain in it.

  23. I’m happy that Mr. McGraw is exercising his rights that I’ve helped protect for the last eleven years. I will be exercising my right to not spent a dime on anything with his name on it and to change the radio station when I hear him come on.

  24. Maybe Tim McGraw admires Bill Clintons ability to deceive a nation, damage his family, and abuse a series of vulnerable women.

  25. Well the comments reached a new level of stupidity .

I see him being compared to Hitler….

How is doing a benefit to bring attention to gun violence on children possibly a bad thing.

I guess stupidity has no bounds.

    • He’s not bringing attention to gun violence. He’s supporting a group that advocates the elimination of natural rights.

It would be like MADD supporting the confiscation of everyone’s car. If driving was a natural right.

Keep trying, you’ll learn how to think one day.
