“We’re going back to Canada where this s–t just doesn’t happen.” – Unidentified Air Canada flight attendant at the scene of a murder-suicide at the Kennedy Airport Hotel (courtesy nypost.com)

  1. Honorable mention?

“Am I leaving? No, with all the police here, this is probably the safest place to be.”

  2. What part of Clemenza’s advice did he not get?

Just let your hand drop to your side and the gun slip out. Everyone will still think you’ve got it. They’re gonna be staring at your face, … So walk out of the place real fast, but you don’t run. Don’t look nobody directly in the eye, hut don’t look away either. They’re gonna be scared of you, believe me, so don’t worry about nothing.

  3. Interesting comment. By all means the flight attendant should return to the land of Robert Pinckton. Because as we all know, Canadians are much too polite and nice to kill women, chop up their corpses and feed their dead bodies to hogs. That stuff never happens in Canada.

There are none so blind as those who will not see.

      • It doesn’t happen as much in Canada because Canada doesn’t open its arms to embrace every drug-running gang of scumbags that wants to set up shop there. Kudos to Canada. The US should learn from it.

        • Be careful of such arguments, the same argument slightly rephrased is “Canada doesn’t open its arms to enable every drug-running gang of scumbags which sets up shop there effectively unlimited access to firearms. Kudos to Canada. The US should learn from it.”

Canada does have a drug problem, but they don’t have quite the violence problem. EG, 10% of canadians say they’ve smoked weed in the past year, which is pretty similar to the US rate.

      • If you subtract the murders which take place within the high-crime drug-dealer-land ghettos of major US cities, our crime rate compares favorably with Canada and France. My county and township do, for example, and we are just outside the city limits. It’s about cultures and the big city lie that money is the problem, not values. Reminds me of the fiscal and crime variations between Quebec and, well, the rest of Canada, nothwithstanding the gruesome BC brothers who liked to send their victims through a chipper to make slop for the hogs.

      • Canada also has a much more homogeneous population with less immigration and cultural diversity. The majority of violence in the US is between racial gangs in inner cities.

    • Michael Robert Ryan, Derrick Bird, Thomas Watt Hamilton and Michael Stone all disagree with your assessment of England.

    • Canada has approximately two fewer intentional homicides per 100 thousand people than the United States. However, many areas of the United States, such as the rural, gun-saturated Dakotas, which in many ways mirror Canada as a whole in terms of population density, demographics, etc, have a lower homicide rate that either Canada or Western Europe. So, by all means, go back to Canada where its “safe.”

        • How do the rural murder rates in Canada compare to the murder rates in rural US? Just wondering so I can compare apples to apples (on the whole is not a very accurate way to measure).

        • You know, I don’t have a source for numbers comparing just rural areas of Canada to just rural areas in the US. Even if I did, though, there still wouldn’t be a straight apples to apples comparison. There are always going to be unaccounted for variables. My only point was that comparing the US to Canada without compensating for known variables is like comparing apples to screwdrivers, and the people who do it know that.

  4. Zalevsky has allegedly murdered Weiss with multiple gunshots. This is not quite ironic timing (and not sure what the word should be since my coffee has not taken effect) after yesterday’s posting about Jews and guns. Both men’s last names are very Jewish.

“Am I leaving? No, with all the police here, this is probably the safest place to be.”
    — Dumb-dong. Armed police don’t quite make for the safety and longevity of unarmed innocent people.

  5. Don’t let the door hit ya.

What’s that old saying? I’d rather have the inconveniences of attending to too much liberty than those of attending to too little of it?

People like this are a politician’s dream; naive, submissive fools who love their chains because they’ve been convinced their jewelry.

    • Since I apparently still can’t edit, let me add here that this happened in the gun-free utopia of New York. Just like your utopia up north. Yup, gun-free zones really work! Just ask the UK, with it’s skyrocketed violent crime rate.

  6. And if these flight attendants plan on keeping their jobs, they’ll be headed right back to the good ol’ unsafe US of A after their Canadian turnaround..

  7. Yup NYC and DC and practically CA now..
We might as well line up in front of the wall so the bad guys can mow us down and save on ammo!

  8. 1. This sounded like a Russian business deal that went sour. Russians never have guns as they are a gun free Socialist paradise.
    2. This was in the National Socialist gun free paradise that is NY.
This is really a teflon blog.
