Who cares he name of the business. The people of Chicago and Illinois need to be free to choose if they want to armed or to be sheep’s.
There are plenty of nice ranges in the area that don’t charge a $5000 membership to a VIP room with alcohol you can’t even carry into.
There are clean ranges, newer ranges, dive ranges, but no guntry clubs. The self proclaimed best range in Chicago-land was Range 355. Its new, clean, and as boring as a 2010 tan Toyota Camry, the base model.

I don’t think this is going to go well even if it is approved.

Violence in Chicago is a temporary problem and doesn’t go back more than a few years. Well, except for that Capone thing and of course his buddies back during Prohibition, and that unfortunate Chicago Typewriter nickname the Thompson got stuck with. I am sure if you just view temporary on a bit larger scale you can get there, after all there was very little crime in the area back during the Jefferson administration.
Don’t forget the Fort Dearborn massacre in 1812, on the site of the current city. Chicagoland has always been a rough ‘n’ ready place…even before there was a Chicago.

They will probably have a minimum standard as to what guns are allowed. Bring a Hi-Point would probably be grounds for expulsion.

I don’t see myself going to Texas Festival this year. Chicago I can do.
I wish them well. I have no interest in a “guntryclub”…even if I had the disposable income. If I lived closed I would join the NRA range in Bonfield,IL(near Kankakee). I’m diving into the AR thing and finding places to shoot will be a challenge.
So you cant open a regular shooting range in chicago, but if its in an expensive country club its okay?
If this gets approved, then they would have a hard time denying a regular indoor range (at least from a legal standpoint).
This range would be about a 1 1/2 hour drive from the city. It is nowhere near Chicago.
According to Google Maps, Willowbrook is about 21 miles from Chicago.
So, more like a half hour if traffic is heavy.
I used to live in Willowbrook and commute downtown. It’s 30 minutes with zero traffic. With your standard Eisenhower traffic, it is well over an hour.
It’s close to I-55. And there is nothing going on there?
That stupid “gun violence” term is really getting on my nerves. It’s almost to the point where the next person to use it in front of me is going to experience some impromptu fist violence.

Yesterday I even scolded some sensitive soul on these very pages for using it.
I wish them well. Their upscale clientele will help to improve the public image of gun owners. When an anti-gunner complains to a city councilman, it won’t hurt to have the councilman remember that the doctor, lawyer or executive who lives across the street from him shoots there.
I’m skeptical of that. Rich gun owners don’t talk to their liberal, gun-hating neighbors about the fact that they own guns, let alone where they shoot them.
Places like this will have plenty of corporate memberships so big companies can entertain foreign customers when they visit.
Free country, spend your money the way you want, yada yada yada.
Or it will have a sizeable clientele of Bro’s with disposable income like gym owners, car salesmen, etc that convince people that gun owners are egotistical douches. Or the Lawyers, Doctors, and other “respectable businessmen” will be those with den’s full of dead African endangered species.
Hey, it takes all kinds of people, and you can be whoever you want to be, but expecting this to raise the anti’s views of gun-owners seems like wishful thinking.
