“We have a decision to make about what matters to us… Gun violence has been ever-present throughout my time in public service, but my past experiences have taught me that no matter how tough our problems may be, they pale in comparison to the combined will of the American people who are determined to make our communities safer.  I look forward to the day when we, as elected officials and Americans, live up to our responsibilities and put an end to this crisis.” VP candidate Sen. Tim Kaine in Sen. Tim Kaine Sponsors Art Exhibition On Guns And Gun Violence In The Russell Senate Office Building [via prnewswire.com]

  1. Hmm… But not all guns are violent. Perhaps I should apply for a grant to study what makes guns that commit violence, so violent. Is it the metallurgy, the machining, the surface finish? Since we’ve a priori discounted it being the hand that holds it, what else could it be?

    • Perhaps that grant will cover expenses for your FFL07/SOT2 and that pesky ITAR registration… after all we need to study machine guns and silencers as well.

    • It could be the caliber, I can’t think of one .50 cal or .500 S&W that has committed a crime. It could be that the smaller calipers are trying to compensate.

    • Wow, I sure I’m around when Kaine and the other self-appointed geniuses figure out how to delete evil out of the human DNA. Because that’s the only sure way to eliminate violence, and in all of recorded human history no one’s been able to accomplish that feat. BTW – I thought Kaine was a world class prick in last night’s debate.

  2. All you need do Tim is remove those utopic coke bottle glasses and see the world for what it really is. Then and only then can we have any salient converse on the topic.

    • “All you need do Tim is … see the world for what it really is.”

And that will never happen. I have stated it about 15 times now in the last few days: Progressives evaluate the world and decide what to do based on altruism, fantasy, and emotion.

I honestly do not believe that anyone can alter a Progressive’s altruism, fantasy, and emotion through peaceful persuasion. I think the only option to realize full exercise of our rights is through force of arms. No matter how much we despise that thought, it is what it is … at least for those of us who live in the real world.

  3. Kaine is neither a Christian nor a Constitutionalist and about as un-american as they come.

The will of the American people is that their communities remain safe by removing the government sponsored invaders, and subsidized criminals. Not by removing guns.

    • For some reason, this is what popped out at me:

Sen. Tim Kaine Sponsors Art Exhibition On Guns And Gun Violence In The Russell Senate Office Building

So, Kaine claims to be a Christian, yet I would be money he was all for removal of the Ten Commandments from ‘public spaces’ and ‘no prayer in school’ type regulations and laws.

Yet he is all for displays in ‘public spaces’ of HIS religion…Progressivism, like this ‘art exhibit’?

The official word is that the Senate, and government in general, is for ALL people. So, how does one justify public displays in government buildings of art exhibits that not only ignore but also insult a large segment of the population?

The only justification is Progressivism fuels its own delusions of being ‘right.’ It’s okay to have an ‘anti-gun’ exhibit on display because that aligns with the SJW/Progressive dogma. Anything else…BLASPHEMY.

      • JR_in_NC,

Progressivism is absolutely a religion. To be totally honest, I am quite surprised that no one has challenged various Progressive policies and laws in the courts under that very premise.

It is no more appropriate to require that references to God be removed from a government building than it is to require that references to God be applied to a government building. Let each building administrator do whatever they want. If one administrator wants to display the Ten Commandments, great! If the next administrator wants to take them down, great! As long as there is no law (including indirectly delegated authority to a bureaucrat) that requires some reference or no reference to God, we should be good to go.

Freedom of religion means freedom to practice or ignore any religion. It does not mean freedom from any religion or government authority to ban any religion.

        • Building administrators for public buildings are government employees, therefore acting on behalf of the government. Erecting a Ten Commandments monument in a public building runs afoul of the First Amendment because it gives governmental endorsement to a specific religious tradition. It would be equally inappropriate to put up passages from the Koran, Buddhist scripture, or a billboard saying there is no God. Government shouldn’t be in the religion business.

Individuals in the government can hold any religious beliefs. It’s expressly forbidden to require specific religious beliefs of any kind for public office in the body of the Constitution itself (article VI, clause 3). However, a person acting on behalf of the government can’t work for or against religion. That’s why a teacher starting her classes with a prayer is unacceptable, and it’s equally unacceptable for a teacher to interfere with students praying on their own time between classes.

        • @CarlosT:

And yet Tim Kaine can put up anti-gun screed as a matter of promulgating his religion, Progressivism?

          That’s the issue.

  4. 1. Put violent criminals in prison and leave them there.
    2. Stop paying welfare mothers to produce more of them.

  5. Kaine cannot get enough slop from the DNC trough. After last the VP debate, the gravy sucking pig should roll over and die…Hillary picked this guy…poor judgement on her part.

  6. He forgot to finish his sentence. That should be, ‘… the combined will of the American people who are determined to make our communities safer – by buying firearms and obtaining permits to carry them in public.’ Now that makes sense.

  7. Tim Kaine is behind those Killer Klown, Kreepy Klown. Krazy Klown sightings reported around the country recently. If you watched the VP Debate, you know why. Fortunately, Kaine chose to only wear his smirking ghoul mask to the debate last night.

  8. Kaine is a Marxist who sided with the Soviets during the Cold War (merely google Tim Kaine and liberation theology to review his widely reported travels). That aside, he is a loyal Democrat who hews to the party line: Gun Control, a continuing steady infringement on Americans’ rights. And Kaine is a pragmatist. He knows that there is a ton of money available for taking the Bloomberg position.

  9. Well, poetic justice and irony could always visit him in the form of being murdered by a knife wielding pedophile wearing a clown mask…..just saying. …

  10. Kane made me crazy when he was “da gov” in VA. He did some real good in office but also had to be CONSTANTLY reigned in with regards to obeying the state constitution.

Then again… follow the money and you’ll understand very quickly where his decisions get made.

  11. It seems to me that the decision is made.

The combined will of Bloomie, Mothers Against Only Some Violence, and Politi-critters sustaining an issue, by preventing a solution seems to stymie the rest of us, who want to live peacefully, including going on living after some thug, predator, terrorist or crazy decides we’d be a nice target.

I, too, look forward to the day when you, elected officials, live up to the the reality of violence, which is not a “crisis” but a shame, as it has always been with us. Meanwhile, we will keep voting with our feet, our money, and our time, to do what we like, harming no one, and very occasionally protect ourselves at need from the thugs, predators, crazies and terrorists you haven’t. BTW, what do we have you around for, again?

  12. Anytime you hear the words [ gun violence ] you can know the agenda instantly. Why do these dis-armists say nothing of other ‘ violence ‘ ???? HMmmmm …? Knife – bat – fist – auto – pressure cooker ….. none matter to them !

    U.S. State Dept. Publication 7277 – Plan for complete disarmament- ( oldie but a not-so-goody )

    • But, but, but – these are not DESIGNED to kill!
Isn’t it funny how they think? We have a problem. This problem is getting smaller and smaller every year, so after 30 years when the problem is about 1/4 of it’s original size, let’s call it crisis and epidemic, run in circles, wave arms and shout that we MUST do SOMETHING!!! …And demand some action.

  13. Well, Timmy, it’s a crisis primarily because you and your fellow travelers have created several giant Petri dishes (Chicago, Detroit, etc.) where a violent subculture flourishes. Absent that subculture, and outside of those areas, it’s really not a problem.
