Most gun guys find women with guns sexy. Of course it helps if the woman in question is sexy, but the general point applies. And I think that speaks highly of us as a group. I mean, how much more sexual equality can you get than mutually assured destruction? Then again, Google search imagery on the topic delivers thousands of photographs of bog-standard soft porn-style bikini-clad silicone-enhanced “babes” with firearms. I’m not quite sure of how that fits into my “men who like guns like powerful women” meme. (I have an idea, but you’ll have to whip it out of me.) So, do you find a woman/man more sexually attractive if they know their way around a gun? If so, why?

  1. As far as the sexy goes it’s like asking why chocolate and peanut butter go together. It’s one of those things that just is, and if one doesn’t understand it I can’t explain it.

It’s easier to explain why we find it attractive though. It implies a mutual interest, which means we can look forward to spending time with a lady without having to feign enthusiasm for Hugh Grant movies.

  2. See, I like guns. I love shooting them. When I’m not shooting them, I like taking pictures of guns. I talk about guns. I write about guns. When a girl has a gun, we have somewhere to start the conversation. When she doesn’t have a gun, the first date is at the range.

  3. “do you find a woman/man more sexually attractive if they know their way around a gun?”

You may say “my sexuality is imperfectly balanced” (Thank you RAH!) but I am not attracted to a woman/man at all. A woman with a gun? Hell yes!

  4. Yes, girls with guns are sexy. As are girls without guns. The real question is: are guns sexy without girls?

  5. Either they’re sexy or not. A gun will not add or detract from their looks.

Might add to the overall package, but I’m not going to get a rise from looking at Helen Thomas, even with a Barrett .50 😛

  6. I’m probably in a microscopic minority here but I think women posing with guns is silly and juvenile. I understand why many men like the combination but I personally don’t consider firearms sexy.

    • ” I understand why many men like the combination but I personally don’t consider firearms sexy.” – – Seriously?

A modern firearm is one of the most beautifully engineered machines that mankind has ever invented. A good woman is one of the most beautifully engineered machines that God has ever invented. Women + Guns = The best combination the universe has yet to top!

      So Say We All …

  7. I think women (and people in general) who are willing to take responsibility for their own lives, their own actions, and their own safety, are more attractive than the helpless, sheep-like people who rely on the gummint to protect them. A woman who carries a gun, and is familiar with and comfortable with firearms, is sending this message: “I am an independent, sovereign individual.” That’s sexy.

  8. Women posing with guns trying to look sexy – not so much. Women carrying guns as part of their normal routine – oh my yes. I work on a military base and there is something to be said for that young woman at the base gate wearing her ACUs with a sidearm on her hip checking IDs. Even the photo associated with the aricle – she’s got that AR slung over her shoulder walking around, not posing – granted, the short-shorts don’t hurt, but it looks like she’s walking around a fair or gun show not trying to sell me something. That, to me, is sexy.

      • I remember seeing a picture of a triplet of IDF women at a Jersusalem Baskin-Robbins eating ice cream with M-16s slung over their shoulders. They had already changed from their uniforms to very stylish clothing and high heels. Now that was sexy

  9. If you’re talking about women posing with guns, I don’t have a particular attraction; it’s still more about the woman than the gun.

But I AM more attracted to a woman who possesses enthusiasm about and knowledge of guns. Why? Aside from us having common ground for conversation and things to do, I’ve always been a fan of strong women (in morality and personality). Being devoid of the fear culture surrounding firearms, along with the personal responsibility mentioned in a previous comment, is a good foundation for that.

  10. In a word: yes.

Nothing’s hotter than a woman who can maintain her femininity and be empowered at the same time. A gun is one of the most primal symbols of empowerment. I’m a big fan of stories with empowered women in prominent roles. Not oversexualized ones like Catwoman or the chicks in Sucker Punch but real-type women who aren’t whores but aren’t overly masculine. The only one that comes to mind right now is Kate Beckinsdale in Underworld and Ashley Judd in Double Jeopardy. Unfortunately there aren’t a lot of them to choose from in the mainstream.

    • I agree. In my sentiment the women with guns historically speaking who were the
most sexy, romantic, yet still feminine and independent, were the women on the 19th century Western frontier era, clear into early 20th century rural America, armed with a 10 or 12 gauge “break open” double-barrel shotgun: Parker Bros., L.C. Smith, Remington Model 1889 etc. Whether on Gunsmoke, The Rifleman, Big Valley, High Chapparel (Linda Crystal as Victoria), Bonanza, and even including Petticoat Junction, Green Acres, and Beverly Hillbillies, a woman with a shotgun was to be revered and respected.

  11. The woman who plays Kono on the new Hawaii Five-0, Grace Park, looks so sexy with that gun on her hip. Then again, the gun does not matter in this case. Uuuhh – what was the question?

  12. Models with guns as props, no. Women who have them and know how to use them? Hawt.

Women who have better guns and can outshoot me?? Good thing I’m already married.

  13. I find women that are comfortable with things, or situations, that are generally male dominated, extremely sexy. Fast cars, motorcycles, guns, etc. Something about the confidence to be involved in something that so many people would think *beyond them*. As far as pictures of women in bikinis with guns? Meh. Give me a woman in combat gear any day. Now *that* is sexy. At least that’s this lesbian’s point of veiw.

  14. girls with guns who actually know how to use them are VERY sexy. girls posing awkwardly with guns aren’t sexy at all. Really it’s not the gun that’s sexy, it’s the skill. Girls with skills are sexy.

  15. Don’t forget Tasha Hanish, a 3-gun competitor who (I think) is sponsored by FNH.

I like women who aren’t scared of stuff, to include guns. My wife has her motorcycle endorsement, didn’t wimp out when I took her up in a Cessna, and now has her CCW. She even went white-water rafting and SCUBA with me despite having a drowning phobia due to an uncle pushing her into the deep-end of a pool when she was a kid to “teach her how to swim”. She’s hot because she doesn’t do the cowardly lion thing when it comes to anything remotely dangerous. Of course it doesn’t hurt that she’s smokin’ hot to look at, but that’s icing on the cake.

  16. I find it creepy and unsettling, not sexy at all. Guns have one ultimate purpose: to destroy life. The reasons, circumstances, and justifications are all blah blah blah. Guns are made to make things die. Women carry babies to life, and I’m pro-life. So to me, no, the two together is not sexy at all.
