I’ve got some expensive guns. But I like working guns; firearms that I can bang around and shoot the snot out of. (So much so I’m happy to end that sentence with a preposition.) We’ve got one of the Henrys above on T&E. I can’t wait to shoot it and, if I can recover from my Xmas spending, own. What gun would you like Santa to deliver, if St. Nick had an unlimited budget?

    • The X is an abbreviation for Chi, the first letter of the Greek word for Christ. Xmas started as an especially reverent way to refer to the holiday.

      • You’re correct, but these days it’s usually used for a different reason. Kind of like how gay used to just mean happy.

        • Correct, and true. The X was originally inoffensive, but often taken that way now.

ANFSCD: Why, when I click to reply, does my “reply” box appear slam at the end of all comments, rather than under the comment I hope to be recognized as replying to, and would like to be able to refer to meanwhle?? Defect!

  1. Two Springfield Saints
    A Springfield XDM 3.8 9mm with 3 19 round magazines
A Springfield XDS 4.0 9mm with a 9 round mag to round out the 7 and 8 round mags
    A Mossberg Flex 500

You did say money was no object and I want more than one gun, so…

  2. Something bolt action for long range target shooting, in 6.5 Creedmoor, 24″ barrel, with an optic that costs as much or more than the rifle. Or maybe one of those Blasers with the exotic walnut stocks that start north of $20,000.

  3. A Barrett M82A1 with a dozen mags and 1000 rounds of .50 BMG would be nice. Maybe even a Nightforce scope to top it off. You hear that, Santa?

      • I forgot about that one too. I have seen this gun in person & it truly is beyond awesome. The one I saw was never fired, but they are thinking about it. I would want about 100k of ammo to go with; if I have something, it gets used. No safe queens.

        • Yea, that .45-70 don’t come cheap either. I’ve seen them up on Gun Broker for around $50K.

        • Ammo don’t either, that’s why I want the 100k rounds to go with it. The stupendous cost was the main reason they had not fired theirs, plus it was a show piece.

        • Yea, that’s what I meant – $1.50/round minimum in a $50,000 gun that shoots 800 rounds per minute. And you’d better throw in a bucket of brass polish to boot. But, no sense buying a Mercedes if you can’t even afford the gas.

        • If you are foolish enough to buy a Mercedes, it’s not the gas; it’s the never ending astronomical repair bills. NO, they are not reliable. (Over 40 years experience in automotive fields has taught me that)

  4. I want an official Red Ryder, carbine action, two-hundred shot range model air rifle with a compass in the stock and this thing that tells time.

  5. Fokks, set your sights a little higher than store bought commonality. For me, it’s a Hershel House flintlock fowler and pistol set.

  6. A M40 recoilless mounted on a truck to drive around downtown Sacramento, oh look the capital where anti gunner legislators infringe law abiders….

  7. — Henry BigBoy lever-action rifle in .45-70 Government
    — Henry BigBoy lever-action rifle in .44 Magnum
    — AR-10 rifle (with giggle switch)
    — 12 gauge autoloader
    — .45 long slide with laser sighting
    — phased plasma rifle in the 40 watt range
    — Uzi 9mm

  8. Well I’ve only been shooting about 6 years(excluding being a kid). BUT…Benelli M4, GLOCK 20/18(!), Colt Python,highend AR and who knows what…

  9. An M256 120mm cannon with tracked carriage/turreted vehicle, fuel, spare parts, a diuble combat load, and maintenance crew.

In short- an Abrams tank. ?

  10. Any one of:

    – One of the Parker Invincibles, just to take out of the safe, admire it, and then return it to the safe.
    – A WW Greener shotgun, one of their higher grades from before WWII, 16 20 or 28 gauge
    – A Winchester Model 12, in Pigeon grade, 28 gauge, pre-war
    – A Winchester Model 21, in Trap grade, pre-war
    – A high-grade Darne’ 12 gauge, just because they’re so cool.

I’m an easy guy to please.

  11. Holland & Holland Royal Deluxe Double Rifle. Three reasons: (1) I’d like to shoot a big caliber double rifle just ’cause (but probably shouldn’t so that); (2) I could sell it in unfired condition and retire with some measure of comfort and security; and (3) it’d make for a great show-and-tell until I find a buyer.

  12. World Peace.

    …and

The newest Arleigh Burke destroyer, with full weapons load out. I want all Tomahawks in the forward Mk 41 with 25 of them having tac nuke warheads. The other seven standard warheads. The aft Mk. 41 Conventional loadout ESSM’s, and SM-3’s, and ERAM’s.
    Aviation detachment with two 60’s.
    Full crew with pay.
Free unlimited gas for all of the above.
Free unlimited food for all of the above.
Free unlimited parts and tech support.
Free unlimited parking wherever I choose.

  13. Sig P210
    Whale foreskin holster
    Real ivory grips
Fully hand engraved with 24K gold highlights.

    Winchester 73 in .44-40
    Peacemaker 73 in .44-40

BTW, do they make a big loop lever action in .50 S&W Mag? If so, an X-Frame and matching Lever.

  14. Little Boy. It was, technically, a firearm by reading of the NFA’s definition (it propels a projectile by force of an explosion, hence the “gun type” classification).

Man, the people who would listen to me if I had that.

  15. Deluxe Winchester 1895 in LNIB condition for my collection,
Marlin 45-70 Lever Action in LNIB condition (made in CT) for the woods.

  16. S&W model 19 2.5″ barrel

    S&W 642 hammerless

    Steyr AUG

    Tikka T3 Lite in 7mm08

    Mossberg 590 7 shot 50778

    Wolf A1 (Type 91) upper

    Korean M1 carbine

Maybe throw in a CZ P10 while I’m at it.

Aimpoint PROs for my AR & AUG

    night sights/holsters for pistols

  17. Santa, I’ll take a Big Horn Armory Model 89 in stainless and burled walnut.

If the NFA was repealed, Id like a Sig MPX SBR in select-fire with a built-in silencer and a WWII-vintage BAR.

    • Oooh! Get the TRG-42 instead! I picked one up last January, and it’s the shiznitz. I promised RF I would write a review of it for TTAG, and I’m going to do that, eventually. 🙂

      Charlie

    • Think about the Sauer STR-200. It’s quite a rifle, higher-end than the TRG, and can be had in 6.5×55, .308/7.62 or .22LR.

  18. GAU 19B 50 Cal Gatling Gun with more ammo than I could use in a lifetime.

    Since I can’t have that…

Accuracy International AX50 piece of beauty with a BOARS optic, multiple thermals, laser, and Schmit&bender or Nightforce glass! and of course a life time of match grade ammo to feed it, several barrels, etc.

I would have bought an AX50 with my deployment money but there weren’t any in stock in the US at the time.

    • you actually need a half dozen of them and the Marines to operate them. Fire, move, repeat.

And don’t stop to victory smiles on your happy face.

      Semper Fi!

  19. Partial list…

John Rigby &Co. Bolt-Actions in .275 and .416 Rigby, and a Rising Bite Double Rifle in .450 NE.

Holland & Holland ‘Royal’ Double Barrel Rifle in .577 NE.

Purdey Side-by-Side Guns in 12 and 20 bore.

    Winchester 1886 Deluxe in .45-70.

Winchester 1892 High-Grade/Deluxe in .44 Magnum (would have to be custom).

Many custom single and double-action revolvers by Bowen Classic Arms

  20. Me too, but I know which one:

    Sig Sauer P210 Super Target!

Unfortunately, around here I’m Santa, and Santa has a few other things on his list before that one bubbles to the top.

    Charlie

  21. Main gun: HK MSG90A2 with full setup, can, night scope and pelican hardcase holding all that and 20 fully loaded factory mags and cleaning kit.

Stocking Stuffer: HK MP7A1 again with can and top end sight, several dozen mags, the drop-holster and a pile-o-ammo.

Of course, it’s not so much a question of price on those, it’s sheer unavailability (because HK hates US).

Now if it’s something I could actually get I might go more with a shopping spree for a brand-new JP Enterprises SCR made just the way I want it. Do those things ever go on sale???

  22. If price was no issue? A pre-1986 M-16 rifle with a suppressor and extra upper receiver assemblies and mags (so I could have a SBR, a .458 SOCOM, .300BO, and 7.62X39, and 9mm parabellum) – in fact, I’d want a suppressor for each of the different calibers!

  23. I’m easy. I just want a standard issue m4 and an hk mp5. Both select fire of course. And both with suppressors to go with it.

  24. Alexander Arms .338 Ulfberht with a Schmidt-Bender PM II 5-25 x 56 P4L fine reticle scope. In case anyone is listening of course. “What was that honey ? What am I going to do with it?”

    Well, shoot it of course.

  25. A Umarex lever action air gun. $420 for a pellet gun? Nope, but if price was not a factor, yes. I’d shoot that thing every day.

    • The Ruger Blackhawk .177 air gun is made by Umarex (and looks like a Diana with a composite stock). I got mine new for $100 and am delighted with my purchase…and I shoot it most every day.

  26. I don’t think I saw any MK19s, but I’m a little more old school for being in my mid-20s. I would want an original 1st gen colt single action or a Schofield and maybe a new addition of HCAR I always thought they looked cool.

  27. That’s a silly question. What “gun” would I want? Surely you mean “guns”, right? The obvious answer is “All of them”.

  28. I just want a scar. And a custom built 1911. And an AUG. People are bitching about what to get me for christmas…… I’m so easy. Geez

  29. Nemesis Vanquish in 308 with a Millett LRS-1, The custom backpack for it, 1K rounds of Federal GMM 168 SMK, and fitted with a Suppressed Armament Arbiter: 7.62 Arbiter Titanium can. Oh well, back to reality. I am happy with the quality weapons that I have, but I can dream.

  30. If price (and the NFA) was no object, I’d want a FN P90–not the civilian version but the original PDW version, with silencer. I’d also like my own personal Henrietta to go with it (so add in a SIG Sauer P239 SAS in two-tone.)

    • A Pennsylvania & North Carolina long rifle. They actually still make the NC guns in Old Salem, NC; saw it on vacation, I was amazed to watch them work making a gun just like it was over 200 years ago.

      • My brother-in-law near Towanda, PA knows a guy who will build them to order. Takes about 6-8 months, but the results are worth it. His rifle is the most beautiful firearm I’ve ever held. He hunts deer with it, which is what I would do myself.

        • I think the old long rifles are the most probably the best looking guns ever. Even though I technically could afford it, I can’t bring myself to spend the coin. Maybe someday.

  31. Short of a machine gun, or something seriously crew served – say, a 16″ naval battery, with battleship attached, all of which I would find difficult to maintain, anything from AI (Accuracy International).

  32. This would probably be lame to some, but money no object…. M-1A standard model with the green stock. At the moment I cannot justify the expense to the wife lol.
