Moms Demand Action boot camp (courtesy Facebook)

Mom-entum. Cute. “10 more days Ladies!” Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America GA Chapter’s Facebook page proclaimed (on the 22nd). “We will be off to Denver for a weekend of serious training, and lots of fun. We will return with fresh ideas of ways we can grow and become more effective in our roles within Moms Demand Action. Our Georgia chapter has a bright future!” That would be the same Georgia MDA chapter whose anti-gun agitation did nothing to stop the Peach State’s “guns everywhere” legislative package. Which, strangely, has not resulted in the predicted rivers of blood. Anyway, any suggestions for the ladies in the Mile High City? Which reminds me, no obscene, abusive or threatening comments. Just positive suggestions to help MDA make America a safer nation. Thanks! [h/t Jeff]

    • Ah ok so it seems all the chapters are getting together to meet and figure out how to harass private business.
Ok, ok let’s sit down and really discuss the issue ladies.
First off let’s look at numbers. Not fake ones, trumped up ones, or what have you, but real hard facts. Now let’s look at root cause. Gangs, poverty, poor educational system, broken family structure.
Now lets figure out how to fix that!

    • Good little fascists aren’t born, they are trained. Gotta crush that inquisitive and questioning spirit early on, otherwise they will question fearless leader.

    • Another option: start fundraisers to help victims of “gun violence” back on their feet. No, scratch that, start fundraisers for victims of violence in general. Wait, scratch that too, start funding classes for high-risk citizens on how to defend themselves and prevent further violence. No, no I got it: in addition to the classes start providing citizens with the best tools for self-defense possible to better increase their chances, and those would be…

      Oh…

    • I’m not sure a mile high, pun intended, oxygen deprived brain could handel that kind of experience.

  1. Good Lord…. A bunch of cackling, emotion driven people drinking wine and gushing over how morally superior they are to the great unwashed and how they only know best. Fantastic.

I wonder if funding this so called “leadership boot camp” is via (directly or indirectly) Bloomie’s $50M.

    • I really need to go down there, join up, find the weakest link, and get her into shooting sports and help her get her carry permit. Then we’d have something interesting to talk about at the next meeting.

      • Cowgirlup
Sounds like a great idea, if maybe you started one of them off with an “Airsoft”, wouldn’t want to scare one of the mommies. You know they are afraid of guns. That’s the only reason they come up with all this BS they are trying to interject into the general public.

        • OMG! That terrible sound, that horrible smell, and that gun kicked back at least 1/16th of an inch. Does your shoulder hurt dearest mommie!
And the case that came out of that horrible gun was so hot it burnt my fingies when I picked it up! Bad gun, Bad gun!
Yeah, I know CGU, anybody can shoot a 22, but we are dealing with a sub culture here.

        • I’d make her wear a T-shirt that didn’t show cleavage and tennis shoes and jeans so she wouldn’t get hot brass down her bra, on her toes, or on her legs at least.

  2. Suggestion: Make it a firearms familiarization boot camp. After all, these Moms should demand to know “their enemy”; the inanimate objects which they are pitted against.

    • That is actually a pretty good idea. Getting some of them used to handling firearms and maybe realizing that the gun itself in no more dangerous than the electric knife they slice meat with when handled correctly could be a positive thing…. then again, I am a hopeless optimist

  3. Suggestion: Set your Mommy emotions aside for long enough to look at the actual facts, realize that your entire argument is faulty and only based on your own irrational fear of firearms, and all of the ‘action’ you are ‘demanding’ will do nothing to address the root causes of the violent crime, then close down the operation and go get lives.

  4. If they are there around July 31st-Aug 2nd, I’ll be sure to snap a picture with them, hopefully with Shannon. I’ll be sure to poke them with the butt of my gun.

    • “I’ll be sure to poke them with the butt of my gun.”

For some reason that sounds FAR dirtier to me than I think you meant it.

  5. Maybe hit up one of the newly legal dispensaries? I’m sure that would help them mellow out a wee bit.

  6. Wow, this is a huge boon for the hotel industry in Denver. MDA probably rented out six, maybe seven rooms and a small meeting space…

    • Meeting space, shmeeting space….who needs that when a small group can go in blissful gun-free safety to a Starbucks?! After all, what place could be safer without those nasty gun-bullies around?

Too bad Shannon’s goons (talk about a couple of fake rent-a-cops right out of Central Casting) would have to stay outside.

  7. Truthfully, I do not wish the grabbers any success. But again, truthfully, I think they might actually get more traction if they weren’t so flagrantly dishonest so often.

    • Its an interesting word choice. Boot camp is where they grind you down and build you into a soldier prepared to take orders against your nature. An “off site” or “conference” is where you might freely discuss new ideas.

Sounds more like cultist indoctrination in Denver to me.

      • Boot camp, sounds like one of those “I do not think it means what you think it means” moments the gun-grabbers are prone to. Speaking of, I’m entering USAF BMT in the coming weeks/months, wish me luck.

  8. They learn that the brain can only put so much time for making the correct decision before being beat down and giving in to wrong decision. That’s why car sales people sell more after 4. They also sell the low cost opinions first, expensive later. They learn how to CONTROL you. They also teach this in Government. I always take a nap and eat power food before going. Cheap night out. Funny as Hell.

  9. “…We will be off to Denver for a weekend of serious training, and lots of fun. ”

    Serious Training?

They need training to be Moms?

Or they need training in how to demand things?

  10. “We will return with fresh ideas of ways we can continue to try to force Americans to live the way we deem appropriate.”.

  11. They can always earn extra cash doing lap dances at Shotgun Willie’s, or the Diamond Cabaret…

Bet one of ’em gets a little goggle-eyed, drinking too many wine spritzers and not realizing the altitude will get to them. Maybe a DUI/DWAI as a souvenir. Then they can duke it out with the ladies from M.A.D.D.

  12. obviously, they have too much time on their hands. they need to get back to the basics of hunting, gathering, and making babies (whichever one of those things fit their role).

    • I agree with the idea that they have too much time. Would be much more productive if they directed their efforts towards:
      1. helping the homeless
      2. teaching adult literacy
      3. fostering an undocumented immigrant child
      4. helping a vet
      5. volunteering at a hospital, assisted living center, nursing home, VA hospital

Any ONE of those things would ACTUALLY save and better lives of fellow humans instead of what they are doing now.

      • “3. fostering an undocumented immigrant child”

        Now that’s uncalled for!

It should read “Documentation-Challenged immigrant child”

        • The PC term is actually, undocumented migrant worker. They don’t want immigrant, alien or illegal anywhere near it as it gives a negative subconscious impression to the fence sitters to fall on our side of the fence.

      • You do realize that most of those illegal immigrant “children” are likely “children” of the gun-grabber statistical variety ( ie teenagers to mid-twenties, with a healthy dose of gang-bangers among them). I don’t think many 6-year-old are walking unaccompanied from El Salvador to Texas.

  13. So the moms are using a military term to describe their “event”? Maybe Dirk could show ms. Shannon a few combat tactics…

    • So, this whole “boot camp” term has been used (“Borrowed”) quite a bit recently for a short term intense workout class as well as some kind of basic skill building meetup event.

  14. I’ll take em out for a day on the range with the plastic pistols and evil black rifles. And the mossy with 3″ buckshot loads.

  15. Well, speaking as someone who was born and raised in Ga and spent 4 years living in Denver I think it is perfect for the MDA’s of Ga. The liberal, anti-gun, pot puffing hippies of Co would more than welcome them in. So with that said……please move to Denver….and never, never come back!

    • “A primer on the concept of critical thinking perhaps?”

You’re on the right track, Tim.

I also recommend a workshop like “It’s Never Too Late To Improve Your Coping Skills”

  16. Is this an inside invitation only or can somebody from our side get in? Would be interesting to document things.

  17. They need to have their little get away, and then each need to go back to their respected homes, and take care of their children before telling us how to take care of ours. I’m assuming they have children…But doesn’t it seem like they spend a helluva lot of time away from home?

  18. MDA ladies: Get your conceal carry permits. Seriously. Your masochistic urge to make yourself and all other women totally helpless against men who are stronger, badder, and more deadly WITHOUT guns or weapons of any kind, is shameful.

Every other female in the animal kingdom defends her young with violence when necessary. What is wrong with you?

Cowgirl Up and then you don’t have to worry so much about what the “bad men with guns” are doing, because if they try to hurt you or your kids, you’ve got your own gun.

  19. In all seriousness…following up on the post below regarding the administration’s failure to prosecute real gun crimes on the federal level, perhaps they could petition the community organizer-in-chief to instruct the nation’s chief of Mexican gun-running operations to see if he can crack the 9,000 prosecution mark before the community organizer-in-chief leaves office.

  20. On their FAQ page they’re asking questions like are body guards allowed to smoke pot too, and where can I get a decent pair of whips around here to go with the boots. Okay I made that last part up . The policy is pretty clear the bodyguards and not allowed to smoke pot.

Be sure to bring the camera girls!

  21. I was just about to book my flight to Denver when I realized that MDA was having a BOOT camp. I thought it was a BOOTY camp. Boy, is my face red.

  22. For the sake of safetyness; we should put STOP signs at the top of ladders. Imagine all the lives that can be saved. Think of the children.

  23. Momentum equals mass • velocity (p = m • v). Since each typical MDA mom has a really large mass usually located on the posterior region I expect velocity will be affected thus reducing momentum to a standstill, unless there are Bon Bons or Häagen-Dazs. Then their momentum increases exponentially.

  24. A revelation that Colorado is more pleasant than Georgia and there they will stay. Never to return to –
Way down south in the land of cotton
Guns down there are not verbotten
Stay away, stay away, stay away
    From Dixieland!

  25. “Any suggestions for the ladies in the Mile High City?”

I suggest that they get back in the kitchen and make me a sandwich.

  26. Best thing to do would be to set up a protest at the conference location beforehand claiming the conference center is for banning constitutional rights. That will get the conference canceled right quick. Start shaming the places these people try to organize at and that will make it difficult for them to get their propaganda out. They’re doing it to us, so it’s only fair play.

  27. Any POTG girls live close to Denver? It would be interesting to see what their tactics are.

That being said, I also agree with the idea of somehow getting a few of these ladies to a range somewhere. If possible, make sure the range is “new”, like Nexus in South Florida, i.e. guys in shirts and ties, the facility itself looking like a high-end car dealership, etc. A comfortable environment goes a long way to get people who might have issues with firearms to be comfortable enough to shoot one.

Case in point, I took my S/O to the range a few weeks ago, namely Nexus. I have memberships and frequent several ranges around South Florida, depending on the task at and and crowded-ness, but some of them are less than aesthetically pleasing. Now, in most cases, as long as the ventilation works and the staff are trained and professional, I don’t care what the place looks like, but if I’m bringing friends, I usually think presentation helps them over the hump in terms of fear.

  28. This Weekend’s Agenda:

9:00-11:00 Gunsense: Defeating Logic through Hysteria
11:00-12:00 Photography: Proper Angles to make 9 people seem like 30
12:00-1:00 Terminology: The Difference Between a Hair Clip and an Ammo Clip
1:00-2:00 Debate: Overcoming valid arguments by changing the Subject
2:00-3:00 Emotional Manipulation: LOOK AT THIS BABY!
3:00-5:00 Feature Dangers: How Vertical Foregrips and Bayonets Lugs Kill!

    • How to read a map, to Colorado Springs, to count paved roads.
How to spot the gun weirdo wanting your autograph.
How to delete Facebook posts that dont agree.

  29. This is what I would recommend to MDA …

    (as Yossarian suggested) Have a firearms familiarization day … show all of the moms what firearms actually are, how they work, so that instead of being terrified of them they can actually understand them;

    Teach the moms a basic course in safety and usage of a firearm so that they can decide for themselves if they want to better protect their own families … get them information about how they can take more classes, and (if necessary for their state) get a carry permit;

    Teach the moms the rules children must know about firearms (the basic safety rules, what to do if adults aren’t around, etc.) … those moms can then educate other parents so that accidents are less likely to happen;

Forget all about promoting idiotic legislation that does nothing other than turn peaceful citizens into criminals.

I think that’s enough to start.

    • Well said. Maybe someone can offer free lessons and range time? Under the don’t-knock-it-till-you-try-it banner….

  30. Know thy enemy… This should certainly be implemented by MDA. Get a few guns in there, a couple of targets (balance an apple on Shannon’s head, anyone?) and get to know the inanimate objects that they so despise.

  31. “We will return with fresh ideas of ways we can grow and become more effective in our roles within Moms Demand Action.”

You can laugh all you want to, but what’s really going to happen at this bootcamp is the exact kinds of tactical and strategic communication skills that professional propagandists understand quite well. They’re going to teach grassroots Mom’s how to present ideas more effectively, how to target a specific demographic group, and how to look, act, feel, and sound exactly like the “better class” of people uncommitted, under-informed, middle-class voters want to look up to. The Mom’s are pretty smart about this stuff in that they know the value of actually appealing to the people you are trying to influence. Ain’t no nijas in the Moms, no rifle-carrying homies flashing gang-signs in Facebook selfies like you see with the Open Carry folks.

    • I don’t see it. By rights, with all the help they get from the vast majority of fellow-travelling news outlets, who take those deceptive “crowd” photos for them, use 10=100, 100=1000, 1000=100,000 math to describe their rallies, repeat their falsified studies and trumped-up statistics as fact, and even make up their own lies to help (I’m now seeing it reported that Chipotle has “put up signs” telling folks not to bring in guns)–by rights, with all that help, they should be racking up significant victories all over the place, even if they were just minimally competent and effective. And it ain’t happening; they have to claim the barest fig-leaf “open letter” from an annoyed CEO as a signature achievement. And they only got that because of some over-exuberant gun-rights folks putting the CEO on the spot. Think about it–they made the world safer by getting Starbuck’s to ask the latte-sippers to leave their heat in the car? Just to say it is to show how ridiculous it is.

  32. . Just positive suggestions to help MDA make America a safer nation. Thanks!
    1. Pay people to show up.
    2. Pay air travel.
    3. Pay hotel.
    4. Pay Gourmet Meals at 5 star Restaurants.
    5. Keep meeting to 15 minutes or less
    6. Use 10 minutes of meeting to photo op.
    7. Hire goofy bodyguards without guns which members can laugh at.
    8. Take members to shopping mall after meeting with free gift cards.
    9. Give members free AR-15 and ammo.

    • Wow! for all of that, with a free AR15, I’d put on a wig and a padded bra, and join The mothers, until the trip and meeting were over.
Hey, Cow girl, you got any stuff I could barrow?

  33. Get an Alex Jones “reporter” to tape the weekend under the pretext of taping a “Real Moms of Georgia” reality show pilot. Then sit back while they get wasted and destroy each other on tape. Post to the InfoWars YouTube channel. Hilarity and hijinks will ensue.

  34. Up at 0400,chow at 0500.Daily PT goes at 0600, start with a 5 mile run to warm up. Burpees,8 count body builders, mountain climbers, side straddle hops, push-ups.(5×10) 5mile run , integral training, wind sprints. Chow for 1 hour. Repeat , secure for class time on the origins of the Constitution, Bill of Right’s. Repeat this syllabus daily until your FUBAR points of view, characters are reformed. Carry on.
GySgt. Ermey will be conducting the PT. Kopel will conduct the course work.

  35. I have a suggestion. Stay home.

The voters there in Colorado have really well and truly spoken with the recent recall elections — which your out-of-state billionaire sugar-daddy Micheal Bloomberg rightly lost after out-spending his adversaries 6-to-1. Three times. In Democratically-controlled districts. With a mostly Democratic turn-out.

Stay in your lane, ladies. There’s no room anywhere else.

  36. Hmm.

Nice black, red and white sign they made. Has kind of a Stalin or Hitlerian feel to it.

    Forward!

Maybe it means they’re going to go to camp and talk about how much they hate their husbands and what not. Things that house fraus do when not frittering away their lives on Facebook and Pinterest.

  37. Base your arguments on facts and reason instead of emotion and fear. Hmmmm, I guess that would negate your argument and cut you off from Bloomie’s funding stream.

Hey…wait a minute. Don’t they have [gasp!] guns at boot camp? Better suggestion: don’t go. Stay home.

  38. How can they possibly call the comfortable main conference hall at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel boot camp? Oh wait, this is MDA… they need an echo chamber to function inside of.
