My first thought too, but upon reflection, I think he has a passenger, and when it looked like a good time to drive off, his passenger was standing by the back bumper and he probably didn’t want to abandon his friend to the crazy violent drunks.

Fascinating history, but long story short: Build a fort in enemy territory and dare them to attack your vastly superior force in a time and place of YOUR choosing; or if they won’t attack, send out patrols to kill their horses, women, and children. When they retreat, build another fort closer, and repeat.
Kind of like the Indian wars in the 19th century American West.

It’s not something that happened as often as the legends would make you believe, but yes, it did happen.
However, a more important take-away from the story is not that people did it. It’s that they had to, because it was the only way to stop that tank – because all they had were grenades, and not any proper AT weapons.
So the lesson here is, if you attack Russia, make sure you have a lot of tanks, and don’t forget to give them a solid cover with infantry, mkay?

In Soviet Russia real pistols are illegal for citizens. “Toy” guns are legal:
(i) “traumatic” less than lethal pistols with rubber bullets and 91 joules energy limit. Useful to make attacker more angry (as in the video),
(ii) gas pistol,
(iii) electroshock weapon with limit.
In all seriousness, would the damage to the roof and springing the door hinge end up totaling that car? I don’t see how you could repair the roof or door hinges without removing material and welding replacements … which would compromise the structural (crash) integrity of the car.
