House Dems to Make Breaking Gun Laws Even More Illegaler

12

Thank God we have Congressional Democrats to keep us safe from gun crime. Right? Stalwarts like Elijah Cummings and Carolyn Maloney are ever-vigilant, watching the horizon for new threats. And as soon as they spot one, bam! They throw all of their well-practiced legislation-writing capabilities into making sure that gun trafficking isn’t just against the law, it’s even illegaler than it already is. Because nothing fixes a problem like more laws…

Large On-Line Ammo Retailers All the Same Company?

19

I’ve been a happy and very satisfied customer of luckygunner.com for over a year now. No, I didn’t get an invite to shoot their cool guns, but I can look past that. This time. They’re the first on-line retailer I’ve ever used to buy ammo because the shipping cost usually made buying on-line way too expensive. It made more sense to head to the local Wally World, Bass Pro or even Cabelas. But I couldn’t always find what I needed locally. My Sub-2000 seems to like munching on Magtech 9mm more than other flavors, and Lucky Gunner usually has it. They also have good bulk prices. Everything they list is in stock, their prices are competitive and the shipping charges aren’t abusive. Nothing but good experiences so far. But Linoge, proprietor of wallsofthecity.com has noticed something interesting…

Lindsay Lohan ♥ Guns?

38

At TTAG, we really don’t care who likes or doesn’t like guns. Not our problem. And celebrity gossip is not our thing. The ONLY reason (and I mean the only reason) we find this newsworthy is that La Lohan has made our Irresponsible Gun Owner of the Day feature (twice!), only to subsequently deny, deny, deny that she’s ever owned a gun in the past all the way up to today. From that point of view, this becomes (to paraphrase Elaine on Seinfeld) “TTAG-worthy.” Just so’s you’ll know, we don’t relish getting down in the mud on this one, and for those of you who are afraid TTAG is going the way of Yellow Journalism and Tabloid trash, fear not. With that out of the way, we came by a tip that the starlet voted Most Likely to Trash Herself and Her Career Faster Than You Can Say “Dana Plato” is telling one whopper of a fib when she claimed she and guns don’t mix . . .

Question of the Day: If You Had to Have One Gun . . . ?

104

“Numerous people have asked me, ‘If you could only own one gun, which would that be?’ I say, ‘Well, first of all, I’d shoot the guy that told me I could only have one. Then, I’d continue to have the hundreds I own.'” Ladies and gentlemen, TED NUGENT! So let’s put that assassination thing to one side (for my own safety’s sake). And qualify the circumstances. Your current life. No SHTF or TEOTWAWKI stuff. No ammo restrictions. For me, it’d be my Glock 30. You?

KBISFB: Gun Fired (and Then Lost) In Drunken Fall

4

When I worked at CNN as a videotape editor, the producers would hand me a “package” of audio and video and tell me they wanted it assembled within half-an-hour. It was literally impossible. But a videotape editor couldn’t say that to a producer. So we’d nod our heads, salute and say KBISFB. I can now reveal the meaning of the videotape editors’ secret code: “Keep Believing It, Shit for Brains.” Which refers to other readers, NOT our Armed Intelligentsia. Anyway, I’m bringing the term here to TTAG for firearms-related stories that stretch the limits of credibility to the point where they don’t require a blogger’s deft deconstruction. The first one hails from my hometown police’s blotter . . .

Lindsay Lohan: I’ve Never Owned a Gun. Still Don’t.

18

“Lindsay has never, ever owned any type of firearm in her life. I have no idea why someone would say that,” Lindsay Lohan’s publicist Steve Honig told the somewhat specialized website News on Lindsay Lohan. In this case, the “someone” making the claim was Li-Lo herself, according to Italian Vogue. So who was lying? Vogue, Lohan or Honig? I’m thinking  . . . yes. Until we figure it out, and maybe even then, we’re keeping the two-legged Herbie star on our Irresponsible Gun Owner of the Day list. If only because any celebrity that tells the world that she doesn’t carry a gun has forgotten that discretion is the better part of keeping stalkers guessing.

Self-Defense Tip: Don’t Use A Gun Lock on Your Home Defense Gun

48

“Safety experts emphasize that gun owners have no excuse if they fail to adequately secure firearms in their home,” wlwt.com admonishes. “Gun locks are widely available and reasonably inexpensive, experts say, and can be obtained for free in many places. It’s legal to leave a gun lying within reach, but experts said that’s supremely foolish.” Confused. These oft-quoted, unnamed experts want you to secure your firearm with a lock AND put it out of reach? What are the odds you can win a foot race to your home defense firearm and then unlock and load it? And it you don’t, well, a miss is as good as a mile . . .

Whitey’s Stash, A.K.A, the 1st National Bank of Bulger

18

What do you give a fugitive that’s living under the radar in a very public place? (Answer: 20 to Life, or thereabouts.) But for now, the revelations keep a-rollin’ in. Today’s cache: Whitey’s home arsenal and personal cash stash. Perhaps I should have titled this piece “Home Security Tips from a Mobster.” To wit…

ATF Death Watch 39: TX Rep. Calls Fast & Furious a Conspiracy to Regulate Guns

9

Apparently, members of the TTAG Armed Intelligentsia are not alone in their suspicions that the ATFs blunderific crapfest known as Fast n’ Furious was part of a plan to regulate guns. Congressman Blake Farenthold (R-TX) spells out what he thinks are Obama’s motivations that drove him to issue executive orders that circumvent Congress, the U.S. Constitution, and Federal law, to create a long gun registry on our Southern border. Appearing on Cam & Company, Representative Farenthold spells it out.

TTAG at AAC for Factory Tour, Range Trip

7

Advanced Armament Corp. makes silencers (suppressors), assorted gun parts, and the .300 AAC Blackout round that claims to make all your suppressed .30 cal dreams come true. From what I’ve heard their workshop is like Willie Wonka’s chocolate factory for gun nerds, a magical place where all your NFA dreams come to life and complete with Death Star theme. They’re flying me down next weekend to experience it in all it’s glory as well as play with, and I quote, “the largest machine gun collection on the east coast.” And I want you, our readers, to come along with me . . .
