I’m ready to call this guy St. Peter as he works as a pastor and security director in Jacksonville, FL.  Because armed good guys in church are always a good thing.

Pastor Peter Padilla terms this his “Basic EDC” – brought to us by Everyday Carry.  As a reminder, folks, you can share your pocket dump (or parts thereof) via Everyday Carry.

Love the GLOCK 26 with a Vortex red-dot and backup irons.  And kudos to him for the spare magazine.  The only thing that’s missing is a light of some sort.  Because bad guys prefer low-light or no-light conditions to ply their trade.  And more commonly, because sometimes having a light makes life easier.

That Midtech knife shows a lot of wear.  Clearly it’s been with Pastor Peter for some time now.

      • “Might not want to pull that light out to check your oil, just saying.”

It would come in real handy for draining the oil a few times faster… 😉

      • DPH, I hear you. The WML is great for a certain level of readiness. But if your helping little Jimmy find his missing legos the phone light would suffice. IMO, I’d use an easy to EDC handheld light. Most smartphone light patterns dont have that hotspot to help one’s eyes focus when scanning an area…for legos.
I like the gun setup, it’s just like my 19 setup.

  1. Didn’t we see this EDC not too awfully long ago? Why republish? Did he change ammo? Too be be fair, I was called out on a comment I made on a rerun not long ago. Of course, I could be wrong on the pastor’s EDC. Maybe it just reminds me of another.

    • No different than anywhere else. A church is not exempt from criminal activities, even if they don’t pay taxes and get away with touching little boys and murder for centuries.

    • Not really so. That is what church is all about…..resisting evil, violence, and mayhem…..Good versus Bad. Just another method to overcome evil brought on by Evil attacking in a new way and place.

  2. No Bible in the pastor’s EDC?

Not even a pocket New Testament?

    No prayer book?

    Fascinating.

Christianity is pretty much unrecognizable these days, what with no more love thy neighbor or the good Samaritan ministering to the refugee or turn the other cheek…

    My only question is WWJEDC?

Polymer? Double stack? Striker versus hammer? Hollow points?

    • Christianity hasn’t changed a bit over the centuries. Christians, on the other hand….

I’d venture a guess that if you were to find all the people in this country that faithfully followed the teachings of Christ (you know, actual Christians) you’d be looking at a single digit percentage of the population.
There are FAR too many people (inside and outside of the Church) that want to claim the title of ‘Christian’ but not be bothered by the standards of living or morality.
It ain’t no wonder so many have such a negative veiw of Christianity.

  3. Some decades ago a Catholic Priest called me in the evening (this was way before the insanity of daily school shootings) he said his neighborhood had gotten so crime ridden with all the lack of high paying jobs going over seas that it was not safe to walk to the mail box. He was looking for a Beretta model 92 and plenty of extra magazines and a bunker full of ammo. In shock I suddenly realized I was not living in the same country anymore as everyone had now gone completely insane. I really could not blame the Priest because he was just trying to survive in a country where life had disintegrated and our world gone completely mad.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.

    • What daily school shootings?

“I really could not blame the Priest because he was just trying to survive in a country where life had disintegrated and our world gone completely.”

      Where is this, Mogadishu?

    • You have never printed a true word in your life, have you. Daily school shootings? Citations please.

Decades ago? You write and argue like a barely schooled 13yo. Which means you’re a college student no more than 22.

  4. I just think slapping on the light, extended mag and holographic sight is overkill and counterproductive to what I am trying to achieve by carrying a compact gun. My G26 is big enough without all those add-ons. By all means on a duty gun, yeah, knock yourself out.

  5. I am getting a complex, second knife company in several days i never heard of. Must not be doing my due diligence reading about blades
