Quote of the Day: Could We Really Lose Piers Morgan?

“‘The authorities are turning a blind eye. They’re being bought off by the gun lobby and it makes America a dangerous place. When Elise goes to school that will definitely be in my mind. I love America but if they continue to do absolutely nothing and the scale and volume of the outrages continues to accelerate, there’ll come a point when I think ‘I don’t want to be here with young children.'” Pier Morgan quoted in Piers Morgan’s star secrets [via mirror.co.uk]

  3. Thank you all for your guffaws. I do pray that future circumstances prove to be such that none of us ever have the need to confront brigades of troops, main battle tanks, and attack helicopters with our deer rifles.

of US Media that looks the other way as long as their agenda is met?

  5. If he hates American’s love of guns, he can just leave and go home and get killed by some crazy person while everyone watches and does nothing because they are not allowed by law. Sorry for the run-on sentence.

  6. Am I the only one who wishes the Feds would’ve just kept the receipts and gotten their money – the money of the US Taxpayer – back? Now, the taxpayers of ND get stuck with the maintenance bill. The disparity of weapons and the means to carry them between the LEO and the citizen continues to grow.

  7. CNN is pulling his plug. Probably no one else wants him or will pay him anywhere near as much as CNN. His comments to the Mirror are his way of making it look like his own decision. Who would ever buy the story about “fearing for his daughter’s safety” when she’s old enough for school? Any school she attends will be well protected whether it ‘s here or in Britain.

  8. Iconic: Symbolic of the present culture, especially dealing with the ideals, people and products considered noteworthy. Don’t really agree with the Glock, HK had already been there done that with the VP-70Z

    1. Colt 1911 ’cause it’s everywhere and still working after 100 years
    2. Thompson 1928 Even if you know nothing about firearms unless you don’t have a TV you know what it’s for (Chicago typewriter).
    3. AK-47 most produced arm in history, it’s even on the flag in some African country and recognized worldwide and the commie/terrorist weapon of choice.
    4. Colt SAA won the west and John Wayne carried one making almost every kid in the 50’s and 60’s want one.
    5. The M1 Garand probably the best battle rifle of WWII

Personal opinion so don’t flame me.

I can think of about a hundred plus other weapons which could also fill the top 5 list depending on the mood and the amount of coffee I’ve drunk

  9. Pepper spray MAY be be an effective deterrent… As somone who has been sprayed and used pepper spray multiple times, all people are not effected equally.

There are some for whom it is entirely ineffective when they are 100% sober, let alome when drungs and alcohol are in the mix.

If you carry spray, be prepared to rock and roll when it doesn’t work.

  11. Since his ratings have dropped and it looks like he may lose his prime tv slot, this may just be a ruse to go out with a political bang. Rather than be fired or take a lessor tv slot, he may leave on the grounds that “America is just too darned dangerous and they’re too ignorant to pass gun controls like the rest of the civilized world…”

  16. “Danny has a question about this incident:

‘I’ve always been told that no material object is worth getting shot over to protect. I’ve been wondering though if responding with violence to a person committing a crime would be a good deterrent, letting them know that if they wish to do this kind of thing to expect a bullet, not your mark pulling out a cell phone as you run away.'”

The “question” arises from a misunderstanding of the situation.
The thug was not shot to protect the material object (bike).
The thug was shot in direct response to the thug threatening Deadly force against the biker, and by way of proximity, all the people in the area.

Deadly force is always the right move when someone is being threatened with deadly force.

I can do this all day.

What is grotesque is that some people are INSECURE in their ability to responsibly own a gun and don’t have the WILL to do what may be necessary to defend themselves or their own children, and then these people, to mask and equalize their inadequacies, want to put all others in the same position by denying them their RKBA.

  18. I am assuming that they are the same caliber?, Then I’d grab the Glock. If the 1911 is a .45 and the Glock is a 9mm, then I’d lean towards the 1911. I like bigger holes vs. smaller holes.

  19. VA, no mag capacity limits.

The Glock because two is one and one is none, so 30+ when SHTF or situation unknown.

I love my 1911 for open carry. My Glock 19 for concealed carry.

I love Stick’s work. I know he won’t mind as long as you attribute the pic to him and leave his watermark intact.
