“GPD officers responded to a home in the 300 block of Pine Street in reference to a 911 call about a burglary in which a man later identified as Willis and another man, both of whom were armed with guns, forced their way into home and beat the victim severely enough to injure him,” ktre.com reports.

The victim told police that he arrived home at about 11 p.m. that night, got out of his vehicle, ran to the house, and entered it through the back door. A witness told police that a gray Ford Fusion pulled up in the home’s driveway a few minutes later, and two men with guns got out.

[Todd] Willis (above) and the other man allegedly forced their way into the home with their guns pointed and started asking, “Where is the money?”

At that point, the two suspects started searching the interior of the home. They found the victim in a back bedroom and started hitting him in the face, head, and body, the affidavit stated.

Enough said?

Perhaps we should point out that this doesn’t seem like a random attack. And? Even felons — and I’m not saying the victim was a felon or involved in criminal activity– have the right to armed self-defense. But this story is way more disturbing than “simple” armed robbery with assault and battery.

“According to the victim, one of the suspects pointed a firearm at him and pulled the trigger that ended with the weapon not firing,” the affidavit stated. “With the weapon not firing, the victim further alleged that the suspect then ejected the defective round of ammunition and allowed a second round of ammunition to enter the firing chamber and a second attempt to fire the handgun, but it ended with a failed result as well.”

According to the affidavit, the victim told police that after he was beaten and the one suspect tried to shoot him, the two men left the home.

One of the suspects was identified his street name, “Boosie.” Further investigation of the alias helped police identify the suspect as Willis.

A 9 mm Luger cartridge was found at the scene, the affidavit stated.

Think about this: what if armed, homicidal street thugs raid the wrong house. Maybe . . . your house? Home carry my friends. Home carry.

  1. Wow, a shooting at a texas college yesterday, now this. Texas sure is packed to the rafters with A-holes.

Not to mention the shit that doesn’t get national attention

It’s been a rough couple of days

    • You made that same stupid comment two days ago.

Haters: having run out of ideas, now they’re running out of insults.

  2. I wonder what the back story is. The victim “ran” into his home and hid, suggesting he knew he was being pursed. Recent ATM withdrawal? Dice game gone bad for someone? Was victim a card or pool shark? E-Bay or Craigslist transaction really a robbery? Inquiring minds want to know.

  3. “E-Bay or Craigslist transaction really a robbery?”

Someone would be pretty stupid to make a legal transaction for enough money that someone would use a gun to get it back at that time of night to someone they did not know.

  4. I have no idea why anyone would not have a firearm at home for personal protection in their home. Even if it is nothing more than a break-action single shot shotgun … anything is better than nothing.

Given that you can purchase a used pump-action shotgun for less than $200, I would expect that everyone can afford one.

  5. Unless this victim was carrying in the car (which requires CCW), he would not be able to defend himself in this situation. He was lucky the perp did not perform proper weapon maintenance.
You prevent stuff like this by being aware of your surroundings and having a good camera that is piped instead of kept on memory so it can be destroyed by perps

    • I’ve carried in a car without a ccw. A camera doesn’t prevent anything. It may make it easier for the cops to id your rapist/killer. I guess you’ll feel some satisfaction in the afterlife.

    • He was attacked in his house, and a camera will not stop anything. If a camera prevented crime, you wouldn’t see so many security videos of crimes occurring.

      Laws don’t prevent crime, either.
