It was just a matter of time. As protests have been allowed to continue in cities across the country, the rioters have grown more bold. The police, who’ve come under repeated attack, are more frustrated. And business-owners and uninvolved citizens are worried about their safety and that of their families.

In Buffalo (AP):

An SUV carrying two people who had been shot plowed through a group of law enforcement at a George Floyd demonstration Monday night in Buffalo, injuring at least two officers, authorities said.

Video posted by a bystander shows a line of police officers, backed up by an armored personnel carrier, rushing and tackling a man who was being interviewed by a man with a TV camera about 9:30 p.m. Other officers used batons to whack at protesters, who scattered.

Moments later, there was the sound of firearms discharging off camera, then officers ran as an SUV barreled through a cluster of officers. At least one appeared to go under the vehicle’s wheels.

In St. Louis (AP):

Police say four officers were hit by gunfire after protests in St. Louis that started peacefully Monday became violent overnight, with demonstrators smashing windows and stealing items from businesses and fires burning in the downtown area.

The police department tweeted early Tuesday that the officers were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening. It was unclear who had fired the shots.

In Philadelphia:

Officials say the owner of the gun store, Firing Line Inc, was inside his business guarding it because they had experienced a break-in attempt on Sunday evening.

When a crew of looters reportedly attempted to break in, the store’s owner saw them on surveillance video and then heard them coming up the steps of the store.

“One of the individuals that broke into the property, pointed a handgun at him,” Chief Inspector Scott Smalls told FOX 29’s Steve Keeley. “And that’s when the store owner fired his own weapon — striking the one perpetrator at least one time in the head and he collapsed, dropping his gun between his legs.”

In San Jose:

A suspected looter was shot by police Monday morning, authorities said.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries and was released, police said in a news release. His age and place of residence have not been released.

The shooting happened about 4 a.m. Monday after officers responded to reports of looting at a CVS drug store at Harder Road and Mission Boulevard.

In Austin:

An Austin teen remains hospitalized after he was shot in the face by police at weekend protests.

Video posted on social media shows 16-year-old Brad Levi Ayala shot in the head with what police are calling “bean bag ammunition.” In the video he’s standing still and alone on a hill in a blue shirt and khaki pants. In the bottom right-hand corner of the video you can see a uniformed officer raise something to his face, there’s a loud crack and you see the young man instantly go limp before the officer’s arms go back down.

“They shot his face. That is not okay,” says Edwin Sanchez, Ayala’s brother.

In Las Vegas (AP):

An officer has been shot in Las Vegas and authorities are responding to another shooting as people protest the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, authorities said.

The officer was shot in the area of the Las Vegas Strip and an officer was involved in a shooting in the downtown area, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported early Tuesday.

In Omaha (AP):

A 22-year-old black man was killed after authorities said he tussled with the owner of two bars in downtown Omaha. Surveillance video of the strip of bars shows a group of people, including James Scurlock, approach bar owner Jake Gardner.

Two people are seen on the video tackling Gardner, who ended up on his back and fired shots in the air. Seconds later, Scurlock is seen tackling Gardner, who then fires the gun over his shoulder, striking Scurlock.

In Detroit (AP):

A 21-year-old man was killed in downtown Detroit after someone fired shots into a vehicle during a protest. According to a police report, the man was sitting in the driver’s seat of a car in a parking lot with two others when someone fired shots into the vehicle and then fled on foot.

In Chicago (AP):

Two people were killed during unrest Monday in the Chicago suburb of Cicero, according to a town official. Spokesman Ray Hanania did not provide details about those who were killed but said it happened amid protests there.

And these don’t include the shooting in Louisville yesterday or the drive-by that killed a law enforcement officer and wounded another in Oakland on the first night of rioting.

The longer the rioting and looting continue, the more of this will take place. Police and citizens will only tolerate the violence for so long before escalating the situation. Unless and until overwhelming responses by law enforcement and the National Guard put an end to the rioting, more people will die. On both sides of the line.

    • Remember that time when thousands of scary gun owners protested at the capitol in Virginia and (holding GUNS, even!) then started fires, vandalized monuments, killed cops, looted stores, hijacked cars, and beat up old ladies…?

  1. This is merely more proof that these riots are politically motivated.
    Police departments have been receiving military equipment for decades and still are incapable of using it.
    It is possible that the democRAT leaders are holding back the police as most urban “chiefs of police” are political appointees (hacks).
    It was easy for the “big and bad” police to use this military equipment against individuals, even “hitting the wrong house” (overwhelming force) without having responsibility for doing so, but when it comes to the situation today, with real riots, they scatter like chickens.

    • Truth is there ar so few LEO in the country if it comes down to it they will all be taken out in a matter of hours. If they don’t esrn our respect and trust back that is exactly what will happen. I don’t want that. So mandatory minimums for LEO that break laws while in uniform. Mandatory cameras with audio, if they get “turned off” the LEO loses his job. LEO must out himslef/herself in harms way to protect citizens.

    Peaceful protesters exercising their Constitutional Rights, doing no harm.

    Instigators trying to turn crowds into rioters, because they want anarchy and violence.

    Criminals who see an advantage and are taking it with enthusiam and evil intent.

    Cops defending themselves and the public.

    Cops showing solidarity with peaceful protestors, examples of “taking a knee” with them and other means.

    Cops targeting peaceful protesters with rubber bullets, teargas, flashbangs.

    Cops targeting news crews with rubber bullets, teargas, flashbangs.

    Cops shooting the wrong person, even citizens on their side.

    So we have rioting by police as well as criminals. And we have peaceful people and good cops in the middle of it all. And we have evil criminals anarchists trying to use the crowds to their criminal advantage.

    Yup, the full range of humanity is to be found when the masses get sufficiently pissed off.

          Please explain to me how this is obvious. I still regularly read the Times, the Post and the Journal. As a matter of fact, I’ve posted that tidbit here before. I know exactly how the “trusted news sources” have been reporting on this. It was just a few years ago that I was so closed minded that I didn’t bother to hear anything from the right side of the aisle. Thank God I saw the writing on the wall and watched CNN, NPR, et al devolve into nonsense so I made an effort to always listen to all sides, and search out source documents for myself so I don’t have to rely on the news gate keepers to relay biased information to me. As a matter of fact, I have clearly stated that here recently as well, which goes to show why it’s important not to draw assumptions out of your ass.

  3. The shooting of the kid in Austin is pretty nuts. You can see him standing there, empty handed, not on the roadway at all. His hands are at his side. He’s not blocking the Interstate. He’s on a grass berm and he’s not standing close to anyone else. He’s probably 40 yards away from a line of police. He’s just standing there with his hands down at his side. Look to the bottom right of the screen and you can see an officer raise something up, pause to aim, and then the kid drops right to the ground. The video aftermath shows part of his scalp torn away. He did not regain consciousness. He’s being treated for a traumatic brain injury.

    Unless they had credible evidence this kid had just committed a serious felony, which seems pretty ridiculous given the rest of the video, I can’t see any reason for him being shot.

        • At this point 71%, including 63% of Democrats, want the National Guard to put down the riots. 42% of Blacks and 54% of Hispanics feel the same.

          58% overall support active duty troops to put down rioters. 48% of Democrats support the same.

          Continued riots will raise these numbers.

          If a civil war is what some of these groups want then they’re going to die in the streets and do so to the thunderous applause applause of their countrymen.

          If what you’ve been saying is, in fact, true then it’s time to pack it in. The revolutionaries already lost what is essentially their only asset; public opinion. Rioting tends to do that.

          Keep it up and the general public will go from supporting putting down the riots to doi g it themselves and that’s a fight that will be fairly short and extremely bloody for the agitators.

          Yet, six police officers busted out their car windows and drug them out of the car teasing them, using excessive force, even though there was no rockthrowing in this incident.

          It seems regardless of the perceived offense, the police will react with excessive force in an inappropriate manner as their standard operating procedure with young black people.

          Gosh, do you think the police have done this before with innocent individuals, no way!

You know occupying forces lose the hearts and minds of the people being occupied. You know why laws were passed to get the military out of the south when the civil war was over.

          Smart as you seem to be you should also know that drawing comparisons to the Revolution is asinine.

          Look at Kent State. Polling on that was overwhelmingly supportive (68% IIRC) of gunning down unarmed kids and the opinion polling on that stayed in the black for almost a decade after the event. Polling for “cracking skulls” at the 1968 DNC Convention is Chicago was at 60% too. So no, getting kids shot for this isn’t going to swing things if those kids are perceived by the public as being miscreants, which they currently are. The longer the riots go the more support there will be for crushing them even more ruthlessly.

          As you yourself said; don’t start shit, won’t be shit. Well, the rioters started some shit. And now we’ve got a guy from Illinois being charged today in Federal Court with passing out explosives in Minnesota. That’s not going to help advance the narrative.

          Riots aren’t something you can sell unless the majority of the public bought in before the riots kicked off. The public didn’t buy in advance and you’re not going to get a sale now.

          As for the Trump thing, this just shows you need to learn to read polling internals and you are not thinking logically at this point but rather have crossed into dogma and are seeking to confirm your biases. Just as a general logic question, if we assume that the polls were rigged to fuck Trump, why are the same pollsters now rigging them in his favor? That makes no sense.

    • I have seen around ten shootings to the head with less lethal rounds purposefully done by the police. The police are trying to kill people. They like to attack the pacifists rather than the rioters. If you are passive and peaceful you get “lit up.” When you stand up for yourself the police tend to stand down.

      You can see many videos where police leave the “stronger” protesters alone and attack the weak ones. This has been the standard procedure since last Tuesday.

      They are cowards and bullies. When they started taking fire from men with guns they fired uncontrollably and ran.

    • News reports now say that he was shot with a bean bag round, and that he did regain consciousness. He went through a 7-hour surgery, which included a repair for a fractured skull. The doctor says he has a long road of recovery ahead.
      That is a hell of a beanbag to fracture a skull at that distance.

I worked part time in a gun shop that had a Class III license… there were occasional bean bag guns that came in for sale and they had a reputation for not working as intended. Word was they’d generally fire the bean bag straight through somebody’s chest.

We can bring accountability to police brutality. That won’t change the fact some people hate America regardless what is done. Some people need a spanking.. but no Cop should fear for life going to work. No American should fear cops will kill them on the street. Let’s fix that issue. I must give him a credit for fighting and defeating commies abroad, but he did not do anything to fight Bolsheviks here at home and now we see the results. The Marxist cancer has been slow killing this country. I would start purging 95% of professors from colleges and universities and then slowly (or fast moving) on public schools and Hollywood.

      I’m guessing you didn’t grow up in the ’80s and personally witness/experience Reagan’s leadership. After the malaise of Carter in the ’70s, economic stagflation, and the growth of the USSR in global presence, Reagan turned this country around and defeated all three. No person is perfect, but he was the right man, in the right job, at the right time.

          I watched a documentary on workplace shootings, which were referred to as “going postal.”

          They said in the documentary after bosses started to treat workers as human resources, for maximizing profit, the workplace shootings started throughout the country and a lot of that had to do with the economic policies of Reagan.

          Yesterday, I saw youth going to Beverley Hills to smash all the big corporations and burn all the expensive cars. They attacked that area because of corporatism and profit over humanity.

          Businesses in America used to take care of their workers as family, now they treat them as easily replaceable resources. Small businesses are more down to earth and have a face to them.

  11. I have an honest question. I have seen demonstrations and riots in other countries where the police (broad term for any law enforcement agency) uses high pressure water cannon trucks to disperse the crowd. It seemed to be an effective method of moving and controlling the protesters when they congregate in an inappropriate area and need to be dispersed. It looks like it’s a better way of crowd control rather than using canisters of tear gas (which are thrown back by those wearing gas masks and gloves) or firing indiscriminate rubber projectiles into the crowd. Also, I heard that some U.S. cities have used LRAD (loud, high pitched sound) trucks for crowd control. Why do U.S. LEO agencies continue to use what appears to be “old fashioned” methods to control an unruly mob instead of these “modern” technologies or a combination of them all?

    • I see this as more of a by product of the illegal lockdown and putting over 1/4 of the country out of work involuntarily. There are a lot of people pissed off at all the lies spread by both the doctors, scientists and media not to mention how the Government handled this situation.

  12. Cops are a mixed bag just like anyone else in any career field. I’ve known LEO’S who are salt-of-the-Earth, pro-RKBA Patriots of the highest order. I’ve also personally experienced police abuse despite being a clean cut, well dressed, small business owner and familyman who does not break the law and has no criminal history.

    It often has a lot to do with the culture within individual departments. Painting all cops with the same brush does a disservice to all of the folks busting their ass to do the job the right way, for the right reasons.

    To all of you officers out there, you have my heartfelt gratitude and respect.

  13. I was out walking my dog this morning and saw some white liberal chalk “Black Lives Matter” in her driveway. What came to my mind was a paraphrase of a Golda Meir quote.

    “Black lives will matter when the black community cares more about young black men killing each other than screaming racism at whitey.”

    • This. 100%. A few years ago I saw charts and graphs compiled from the FBI national crime database. Just under 90% of black homicide victims were killed by black folks.

          Meanwhile every race and ethnicity has special interest and lobbyist groups with the exception of white people. Having any interest in acknowledging you are white, other than admitting some type of ridiculous guilt by genetics, is in itself considered racism. It’s pretty hypocritical, no?

If not, what’s the point of all of the identity politics for specific groups needing extra rights and benefits when race isn’t supposed to matter.   15. I lived in Omaha, Nebraska for 45 years before moving to Arizona last fall. The shooting occurred downtown in a trendy area of bars, restaurants and boutiques. There have been George Floyd protests nearby that have resulted in some vandalism and several dozen arrests but the area has not gone up in flames like other cities.

    The Douglas County Attorney’s office has a long history of supporting legitimate self defense. They don’t nitpick the evidence looking for an excuse to prosecute the victim of a criminal attack who has shot his assailant.
