NZ Confiscations Begin: Police Going to Gun Owners’ Homes, Jobs…One Gun Owner Dead

According to members of New Zealand’s largest firearm forum, Kiwi police are starting to go to gun owners’ places of employment, homes, and even visiting gun ranges in an attempt to gather information and get gun owners to relinquish their firearms.

Additionally, it appears that New Zealand’s crackdown on semi-automatic long guns has claimed its first victim. According to Stuff which appears to be the New Zealand equivalent of The Patch . . .

A former Russian soldier who feared going back to prison tried to call his son before dying of a suspected suicide following a three-hour standoff with police.

The family of 54-year-old Troy Dubovskiy told Stuff he was sought by police after his property in the Christchurch suburb of St Martins was searched on Tuesday.

Police acted on information from the public.

His son posted a photo of him wearing a Russian Army Helmet and posing with an airsoft rifle on social media.

Dubovskiy’s 16-year-old son, who Stuff has decided not to name, said police searched the homes of his father, mother and grandparents after someone reported a photo the teen made his profile picture on Facebook five days ago.

The photo, which he first posted to Facebook several years ago, shows the teen holding a replica rifle and wearing a Russian helmet. The teen used the equipment along with his father while playing Airsoft, a team sport where people shoot each other with pellets using replica guns.

The boy’s father was a veteran of the Soviet and later Russian Army and spent time in Afghanistan and Chechnya while assigned to a special forces unit.

Upon a search of the residence, police found an 8mm blank pistol, an airsoft rifle, and a SKS carbine. The SKS is now illegal under the country’s new ban.

        Right after the shooting in Christchurch Google censored their search results on their platforms. For over a week now Google has disabled the filtering features on Youtube to stop people from looking into the Christchurch attacks.

        People cannot easily keep up with the latest news without help from people within New Zealand linking them the latest info. It took a couple of days to announce the gun ban, a couple more to demand Mr. and Ms New Zealand turn them in, then a couple of more to make it “official.” Now imagine how that feels when you cannot see what actually happened during the attack and why it happened because it was deemed illegal (by the chief censor) that people without permission cannot have that evidence and they would be charged with 10 and 14 years in prison if they go against that order.

        The investigation into the terrorist hasn’t been half completed yet. Regardless, the government is moving swiftly and under the radar as much as the corporations provide them with that ability.

        I don’t understand why the younger generations support and defend these conspiring and conveying corporations. How are they any better than corrupt governments? They actively control what you can and can’t see, thus manipulating your perception of reality via their psychological algorithms They have more control over your mind than any politician will ever have.

          Also comments on the entire net via and it’s plugin is a great tool to show facts that counter the lies the narrative which the media is trying to project.

          Corporations are private entities. They can publish or not publish anything they choose. Just as your local newspaper does not have to publish your letter to the editor. The only way to express displeasure at same is to not use or subscribe to such websites along with refusing to patronize their advertisers.

          I went through this in Canada in the late 80’s. Exactly that happened. They announced the bans in a midnight session of Parliment, did not air anything on MSM. Most people found out the hard way. In my case I took my Colt AR into a gun store to sell it on consignment. The owner told me to “get the fuck out of my (his) store.” I took the gun to my car and went back in. He had calmed down and apologized. I said I was completely unaware. He told me I had to surrender it to Metro Toronto Police. The gun had been converted to restricted status, so I could still own it if I met the retarded criteria. 6 months in the evidence lock up, I was interviewed by a detective in my home. He found I was military, and approved it. I had to show him 2 safes both bolted to concrete. One for the bolt, one for the rifle. I also had an HK G3 that was now “prohibited.” I was a young guy, and could not grasp getting nothing for my rifle so I sold it to another soldier who knew it was now illegal and didn’t care. That is how guns enter the black and illegal markets and end up in criminal hands. This is exactly what will happen in NZ. Their gun crime rates will go up not down. Now that I am American, I realize guns are not a privilege, and I am not a subject. I have the right to defend myself, and my family. In America we realize guns are not about guns. They are about preventing the loss of other rights and the prevention of an overbearing tyrannical government which so many Millenials and old bastards are so in favor of these days.

          Darren I have lived in Commiestralia my whole life and i knew it from a young age… even before my dad introduced me to politics at 15. He was involved with the Australian League of Rights here which is a country conservative org here. All a bunch of talk a lots with no brass balls to back them up. Yes they know well how things are supposed to work in this country but most dont seem to care and trying to fight anything in court here is a lost cause without a lot of money behind you. Then even if you do win a right back in the time you have been fighting for that right in court they have made another 50 laws that remove that same right from other angles. Now with all the laws on the books, L.E. can focus on you and find a reason to bring you in and hold you a few days, while they search for more reasons to add to those bunk charges, to keep you and convict you for something.           I heard there are now tens or hundreds of thousands of new felons in America that are in possession of machine guns. I also hear that the anti gun AG is very excited to go after them and the President wants to stop and frisk people and raid homes first to take the guns before going to court.

          Currently there’s about 15 states that passed gun confiscation powers for law enforcement and the Republicans are now trying to pass it federally.

          Sounds like Americans aren’t too far off from the very passive New Zealand citizens who now face the worst case scenario where they no longer have free speech or semi autos.       As so often is the case: nuance.

      Technically MSSAs are still legal until an Act of Parliament passes. However, certain guns now put owners in a sticky situation.

      If something was not an MSSA before the “new definition” went into effect it was legal to own without an E endorsement. However, when the definition changed overnight a bunch of people technically became criminals because they now had an MSSA for which they didn’t have the proper endorsement on their license. They also, probably, could not get an endorsement legally because 1) they were supposed to get the endorsement before acquiring an MSSA and 2) at this point I rather doubt the NZ Police will issue an E endorsement until after the new bill shakes out in Parliment.

      Effectively the Labour government said “We’re painting you into a corner but we’ll decline to prosecute you if you turn these, now unlicensed, things in”.

          It is interesting to note that NZ First does have nine seats in Parliament right now. They could raise a ruckus to some degree. I’m not sure how effective it would be but they could do it. They could combine with ACT too for an added seat.

          It so happens that historians, by doing research from multiple sources over many years, do happen to know more and have a wider viewpoint than even your grandmother. It is a well documented fact, from all sides (German, Russian, American, British) that Soviet troops systematically and purposefully raped German women. It is also a well documented fact that Nazi propaganda got to such a pitch, that many German women committed suicide. A similar propaganda campaign resulted in hundreds of civilians committing suicide on Saipan. But there was never any systematic rape or abuse of women by the Soviet army in Eastern European countries. No doubt, there were individual instances of rape, as happened in all armies throughout all centuries, but not systematic or condoned by the commanding officers. And unless the other women were local Nazis or collaborators, there was no reason to commit suicide.

        Imagine walking up to a tribal man or an Indian (NA for you PC types), and telling him to hand over the weapon he uses to protect himself and his tribe from all threats, that he doesn’t need it anymore and has no permission to own it. The one asking would likely end up as a new drum set.

        Imagine walking up to a peasant, a knight, a lord, and telling them to give up their weapons, they don’t need them anymore. The gallows would swing and the axe would get fresh meat.

        Imagine walking up to a cowboy, a citizen, a self freed man, and telling them they should give up their weapons, we live in civilized times now and there is no need for iron. They would laugh and tell you to ride out on whatever horse you rode in on.

        Now they are telling Kiwis today to turn over their weapons.         I know many people in non Southern Confederacy states don’t like being called a Slave State. Those states were historically free states.         Many white people think this will never apply to them. They think only a dark skinned person can be considered a slave. These people are poorly educated about the history of Slavery in the world.

        In England they are working to take away knives after the guns have already been taken away. Much of Africa is a shithole. And the Western Nations are working in that direction. Crime is going up in the UK and the rest of Europe. And Australia. Places where guns have been taken away from law abiding citizens.

        They are Slaves.

        And their governments have flooded their countries with people who are criminals. Criminals who will keep the slaves controlled. As well as distracted from the actions of their slave masters.

        Not all immigrants. That’s not the point. The government on purpose increased the population of criminals in the society by importing them.
        New Zealand is following the same path.

        The sad thing is that actually quite a number of countries had liberty take off after we had our little revolution.

        The difference is we have kept it longer and resisted attempts to take it away harder. Maybe that’s because the national conciousness has some remembrance that we actually fought for it.

        The other countries, by and large, gave away that liberty in the first half of the last century. A lot of that seems to have to do with their own national conciousness, which seems more geared towards avoiding another World War than anything else.

      Having a magazine with more than 5-7 rounds in your gun is illegally modifying it if you do not have the license giving you permission to do so. There was a declaration that even more things are now illegal, including accessories and parts.

      It doesn’t have to make sense. It just has to give the government the “legitimate authority” to arrest or kill you and label you a criminal so the public goes along with it.

    The death of the Russian man was a big police bungle. They need a more calm and humane approach to such immigrants who are brought up in a country with a much greater fear of the consequences of law and fear of injustice. The response of the commissioner is a PR cover up to justify what appears to be less than fully competent actions. NZ needs to be very careful it does not become Yankyfied in its response; i.e. trigger happy and callous towards suspects. This man was treated as an offender rather than a suspect but in reality it appears he was simply scared. There’s no way the police commissioner would have got away with that kind of response if the deceased man was a politician’s son or an apparently “normal” kiwi bloke. The Russian’s blood is on their hands. A bit more understanding could have saved this man’s life. Why were his relatives told not to talk with him? The family deserves an independent enquiry.

    The government has the upper hand. Unless they band together and refuse compliance (which will cost the lives of some unlucky martyrs) they have no chance individually. If the police arrive unannounced, there is nothing you can do short of giving them the bullets first. However, if the people had a way to mass communicate (which has been taken away from them as they are in the dark and being censored) they could put the government on notice of a mass refusal to comply. At that point, every seizure would have to take place with a swat team. People would be shot and killed. The situation would escalate to the point where no police station nor police officer would be safe in their own neighborhoods. Then what? The military? They have like 10 guys. No, this will result in the mass disarming of the NZ population as long as the government controls speech, communications, and information. It is every man for him/herself.       Ca will soon require an ammo card to purchase ammo. You can bet that somewhere there is some poor guy that gets to make sure that the ammo buyer is buying only the ammo that can be used in his registered guns. Since we are not allowed to swap guns without a paper from an FFL, we are not allowed to buy ammo for someone else, there is no reason to buy ammo that can not be used in our own firearms. That is enough to put that caliber weapon in your possession and will be used when they finally come for your guns.
      Purchase as much ammo you can before you need a license.

Only that can make them stop, only that can make them reverse their course and give up their power.

    If they aren’t willing to go there, when the day really is at hand for it and the police have been ordered to go out there and take the people’s guns, then yes, turn in those guns because by their own decision, they have lost and their rights are gone.

    Fake News. I live in New Zealand and this is the poorest quality or reporting I have seen for awhile, right up there with CNN. No Police confiscations have begun. The new law requires the semi-automatic guns (many such as shotguns and guns used for work are excluded) to be registered and only people holding E licenses (they come with the highest background checks) can own those type of weapons.

    The death was because a mentally unstable ex-prisoner was about to be resent to prison for a new crime he committed and he could not face prison so committed suicide. (When is sad when a person’s hope is so low that suicide seems the only viable option)
