NSSF Announces Their New Podcast: The Gun Industry Speaks

The Gun Industry Speaks

NSSF

NEWTOWN, Conn.–The National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®) today unveiled a new podcast series, “The Gun Industry Speaks,” to help inform the national conversation on firearms.

“Our goal is to have a frank and ongoing conversation that addresses some of the major concerns about guns in America,” said Joe Bartozzi, NSSF’s President. “It’s important to highlight what is already being done by law, policy and industry action to help keep guns out of the wrong hands and explore the pros and cons of some of the potential solutions being discussed today.”

NSSF developed the series in part as a response to the lack of information available on everything from background checks and trends in gun crime to suicide prevention and bans on certain types of firearms. The podcast is also meant to convey the industry’s position that it is possible to enhance public safety and protect Americans’ rights simultaneously.

The program is hosted by Elizabeth McGuigan, NSSF’s Director of Legislative and Policy Research. The first three episodes, covering NSSF’s gun safety and crime prevention programs, background checks, and gun store security, are live now. New episodes will be added in the coming weeks, covering subjects such as bans on modern sporting rifles and so-called “High Capacity” magazines, Smart Guns, NSSF’s Project ChildSafe® Program, Firearms and suicide prevention, and the current laws in place that are meant to keep guns out of the hands of criminals.

“We do share the concerns of all Americans, and while there may not be agreement on some ideas, discussions like this are needed, because the national conversation around guns is too often a shouting match, and that is a disservice to everyone,” Bartozzi says. “No one wants gun crime or gun accidents to occur, and everyone is looking for meaningful solutions. Our hope with this podcast is to get us all closer to that goal.”

“The Gun Industry Speaks” is available on Apple PodcastsSpotifyStitcher, and NSSF’s Real Solutions website.

Whenever I hear someone say “we need to have a conversation about…discussions are needed….we share your concern…” I think: blah…blah…blah…blah… You’re covering you butt. Hoping you don’t get sued by your opponents, or get bricks thrown at you. Isn’t that why Walmart stopped selling ammo? Dicks? Levi’s? Don’t upset those that do violence: antifa. I never heard of the pro2A’s slicing tires, spray painting buildings, rioting in the streets, throwing eggs/milkshakes at people. Just an observation.

The same NSSF that supports state laws mandating safety locks, holds SHOT Show at a venue that prohibits CCW, and allowed the Socialist Rifle Association to open a membership?

    …Fugg’em.

This guy gets it. They’re a trade organization, not one that fights for our rights

    2. avatar Anymouse says:

You left out endorsing a BAFTE director nominee who advocated an “assault weapons” ban and testified that Sotomayor was a strong supporter of 2A.

Summed up the nonsense in three quotes… F off, I don’t need another NRA!

NSSF is willing to kowtow in order to become (let’s be honest, they aren’t staying) relevant in the national discussion. Their starting point is conceding ground in the EXACT same fashion as the NRA of old.

      No thanks, keep it.

We’ll see if they are as thoughtful and informative as well as honest like, student of the gun, black man with a gun, gun talk, Armed American radio, everything on the Firearms Radio Network, armed Lutheran radio, polite Society podcast, Lock and Load With Bill Frady.

“Conversation” is never anything but a pathway to restriction; the only thing we ever have to say is “No.”
Even if it could be factually proven that legal weapons availability was a driving factor for crime of any sort it would still be unconstitutional to restrict them.
