  1. I like the spirit of it…but honestly I could not deal with being seen having that in my possession. Having the Obama name on it. I’m truly hoping that Obama goes the way of Carter, as he is nothing more than a hyped up version of Carter. If like to get past this nutjob and just move on. Just my thoughts.

      • It’s idiotic statements like yours that make us all look like a bunch of fringe lunatics. All we need is for some 60 minutes reporter to screen shot this and report on how every gun nut wants presidential blood.

Aside from that, are you really dense enough to believe that if Obama went away there wouldn’t be a mile long line of clones waiting to replace him? Solutions come from convincing the other side that we are correct, not disappearing them.

        • I don’t see anything wrong with TSgt B’s comment. He didn’t say he wanted Presidential blood. I don’t even recall that there is proof that Hoffa is dead. He just disappeared. TSgt B is using those wonderful things called Freedom and Liberty. They are enshrinded in the First Amendment to the Constituiton. All rights are important, not just the RKABA.

Yes, you have the right to say what you want about his comments too, the freedom of expression is how this country was founded and its a damn fine country.

If you’re not comforatable with the idea of a Tyrannt going away you might want re-think your ideas of Freedom and Liberty.

        • I didn’t say he wanted presidential blood either. I specifically said “disappearing” and attributed “presidential blood” to the inevitable hyperbole of 60 Minutes or some other special reports show. And speaking of hyperbole, you think Obama’s a tyrant? Really? I think you’re going to have to come up with a new word to describe Hitler, Stalin, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Bashar al-Assad then.

I also didn’t say he didn’t have the right to say what he said. I said it was stupid. Amendment 1 says that Congress may make no law abridging free speech, it doesn’t say BlinkyPete shall not call dumb statements dumb.

If you’re not comfortable reading and processing statements before responding to them maybe you should avoid responding.

        • Hitler, Stalin, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Bashar al-Assad passed Tyranny long ago. They were/are evil, mass murderers.

Since you used the words “Presidential Blood” and not 60 minutes, it was you that brought it up. To bring it up you must have thought about it. You can’t blame 60 minutes for words you put in their mouhts.

Calling someone stupid for their beliefs is good discourse? Don’t you think it might make them think twice about sharing in the future? Don’t you think that could cause us to miss out on something great?

        • Man you love those straw man arguments, don’t you? I never called him an idiot (though I guess that was the insinuation), I said the statement was idiotic.

Obama is a shitty president, but he doesn’t wield absolute power, he didn’t seize power illegally (please don’t live up to my expectations by posting conspiracy theories here) and he doesn’t represent an oligarchy. Calling him a tyrant is a ridiculous exaggeration.

In regards to 60 Minutes – really?!?!? Are you trying to protect them just because I said something mean about them? Did you happen to see their utterly fair, balanced and non-sensationalist take on fiddy call killers? Check it out here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKGo1NxIayk

        • Wait, you’re telling me 60 minutes has a video out about the post above? They are good. I would never defend sixty minutes. They may do what you said, in the future but they probably haven’t even seen the comments on this blog yet, if ever at all.

Calling someone stupid is protected speech and I’d die to protect your right to do so. However, it does not lead to good discourse and can limit free speech. The above lower and comments can’t limit the right to keep and bear arm. Nothing really can limit the right to keep arms but we allow legislatures to do it all the time.

          Have a good day.

  2. i believe there’s a big difference between carter and barry. i think carter was an honest man that was simply in over his head. i do not believe barry to be honest or have good intentions. i wouldn’t vote for either. ymmv.

    • Both were/are in over their heads. Carter actually had more experience as a governor, a Navy man, and businessman than our esteemed law professor.

    • I lived and worked during Carter.

On huge difference, though you’ve pinned it, was that during the Carter years jobs were plentiful. I always had other job offers and had a 2nd job much of the time.

There are no jobs in Obama’s America.

Carter could only meander about mucking small things up but Obama has made a huge mess out of the economy.

Hats off to Palmetto! I love their ‘in your face’ attitude…..maybe a presidential ceremony of some type is in order?

      • I see you didn’t make the same response to those who applaud this lower.

I also see he said nothing about whether anyone else should like or hate it, or that he wanted to take it off the market.

A bit techy this a.m., are yee?

  3. I like it and think the insinuations are well done especially the Hope/Change Safe/Fire bit. Alas as an Arizona native I feel no need to replace my Arizona Armory lower. Good on PSA nonetheless.

  4. The Hope=Safe, Change=Fire thing made me laugh when I first saw it, and makes me laugh now.

    Still don’t want one, though.

  5. I’m generally a liberal, although I suppose I’m more of a libertarian (with a small “L”). I can see the parallels between Carter and Obama, and I’m interested to see how the election goes, but I’m not a rabid politico like so many in our community here.

I generally like Obama, and his policies (that doesn’t mean I’m a fanatic who thinks he’s perfect), so maybe I’ll pick one of these up…although that’s not why they’re made, I suspect.

    • As a libertarian, I’d like to ask – what policies do you like? Other than Obamacare, I can’t even think of any policies that liberals like.

      • We don’t like Obamacare either. Obamacare is all of the Republican ideas from the last healthcare debate/mess repackaged with a D in front of them. It’s a crap giveaway of taxpayer money to the insurance companies. Business as usual.

As to this lower, it’s shit like this that gives people ammunition (as it were) to call all gun owners whack jobs who need to be restricted in order to keep the sane members of society safe. It is also petulant, childish foot stomping in gun form.

  6. If only I was rich enough to buy gag gifts I think my step dad would like it, yet wouldn’t know what it is without all the other things that make it a rifle.

  7. Ballsy, to be sure, but not necessarily in good taste. I can’t imagine BHO responding to this in a positive manner, which is obviously the point. I just don’t which to give the gun grabbers anything to work with.

That being said, I love my ‘normal’ PSA Magpul MOE lower and continue to order ammo from them.

    • Why do so many on the RKABA side seem so intent on walking on egg shells? The left doesn’t need anything to work with. They make stuff up all the time.

Obama has done more to increase gun sales than anybody I can remember in my lifetime. Why not honor him for that? To quote Michelle Obama, “For the first time in my adult lifetime, I’m proud of Plametto State Armory.” Well, not quite a direct quote but close enough.

      • I’m just trying to keep the debate classy. Well, mostly classy. I admire PSA for having the stones to make the lower, I just wish there were more positive media outlets for the 2A than TTAG, Calguns, NRA, etc. Winning the Olympic gold is skeet was very cool, but didn’t seem to generate much coverage. The liberal media has been blasting gun ownership for decades (pardon the pun). I can see them slanting this in ridiculous ways. Then again, they do that anyway. So PSA might as well enjoy their freedom while they still have it. As I’ve said, they still have my business and I still have one of their fine lowers.

  8. This is idiotic. Wait until one of the talking heads get wind of this – it will be pure cannon fodder for anti’s.

    • blinky, chill. they’ll make something up to use against us if they can’t find something. it’s what they do. i’m not going to censor myself in hopes of not giving the anti’s ammo.

      • That’s a logical fallacy, and a weak one – essentially you’re saying two wrongs make a right. The other side will make stuff up, so we should live up to their expectations rather than combat them with logic and factual evidence.

I understand that this is a gag, and I’m not unchill. It’s just an idiotic gag, and the response is utterly predictable – particularly the “hope/change” bit. I can convince four out of five anti’s that AWB is bullshit, “clip” size doesn’t translate to high body count and that gun control isn’t murder control with ten minutes of level and collected debate. Provocation for no reason is dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb.

        • So free speech is idiotic? You are just as bad as the left. Just because you don’t like somthing means others shouldn’t do it. Did it infinge on your rights?

        • Theaton, you’ve got to be the most pathetic individual I’ve encountered here. Just because someone has the right to say something doesn’t mean you have to agree with it, and disagreeing with something doesn’t mean you’re against free speech. You’re doing just that right now – are you so dense that you can’t see that?

        • Hahahaha… one moment you’re extolling the values of the sacred (and apparently misunderstood) first amendment, the next you’re whining about name calling. Now THAT is shocking.

And just a note, and more to my point on your other post – I didn’t call you a name. I said you’re pathetic, which is a descriptor, and asked if you’re dense, which is a question.

        • Thanks man; I’ve always preferred puss to the alternative, but I fully support your lifestyle choice.

          Thanks again!

  9. this is a probably good product for people who think obsolete campaign buttons are valuable and/or interesting and/or not expensive enough.

  10. Ladies and gentlemen, this is FRIGGIN’ BRILLIANT. Go to the site and look at the lower. Nowhere does it say “Obama,” and it studiously changes the logo enough to avoid copyright infringement. The copy is completely serious. If PSA gets a call from a curious journalist looking to do a hatchet job, they should just read the copy verbatim. Plus, PSA makes good quality stuff at the right price.

Couple it with a You Didn’t Build That LPK, a Fast and Furious full-auto BCG and a We are the 99% upper and we have a winner.

    • Oh, okay, that’s not so bad then. I mean, the media never draws it’s own conclusions or fills in blanks when it’s convenient to do so, so I’m sure it will be fine.

  11. I’d like to get me one of them Obama lowers. Also a Frank Lautenberg Model 1000 round clip and a Carolyn McCarthy thing that goes up.

  12. The hope and change selectors are solid gold. The crescent moon in the logo, not so much. It’s a dog whistle for the (racist) Kenyan/Nigerian/Indonesian moslem manchurian candidate meme. I can and do laugh at the president without making myself into a racist birther toolbag. Apparently PSA can’t.

  13. “The Obama 2012 lower”….. I love it. It’s delicious irony that a gun parts maker would “honor” Obama by naming a part to be used with a (gasp) “scary looking” gun.

Next up could be a Holder bullet, in 300 gr., made for .44, .454 and .50 caliber revolvers. Guaranteed to provide stopping power. Or, how about the Sunstein hunting rifle, the .700 caliber Hillary elephant gun, or the Brady flash suppressor?

Does the Bloomberg/Feinstein universal rifle scope appeal to you?

Palmetto is on to something. The possibilities are limitless.
