Like its west coast neighbor to the north, the California anti-gun contagion has spread to Oregon in recent years, impinging on citizens’ Second Amendment rights. Laws such as due process-free “extreme risk protection orders” and universal background checks have been enacted.

A new bill would require a permit to purchase a firearm, limit the amount of ammo an individual can buy, restrict semi-automatic magazine capacity to five rounds and impose “safe storage” requirements.

In response, Oregon-based gun makers Noveske and Radian Weapons have announced that they’re organizing a march on the nation’s most unattractive state capitol building on Saturday, March 23. Their Instagram announcement promises more details in the coming weeks.

Will you be there?

  1. I thought it was an entrance to a prison. From what I’ve heard about what’s been coming out of it lately, maybe it ought to be.

  2. I’ll tell you right now, Oregone’s politicians don’t support the 2nd Amendment, The governor & most of the Congress & senators in Oregone , just adopt everything California does., but that’s what happens when the democrats have been in control for at least 30 or more years, The I-5 corridor runs the whole state,,, rest of the state means nothing to the people in Salem Oregone…

‘Petty tyrants’ want to take our guns

Responding to, “Bill would require permits to buy guns, limit ammo”: Tuesday, Jan. 15 Herald and News, naturally angered, but didn’t surprise me. I predicted the socialist, elitist, Bolshevik legislators in Salem would perpetrate their anti-gun “class warfare/people control” agenda against autonomous Oregon gun owners.

Jeffrey R. Snyder’s “A Nation Of Cowards: The Public Interest Quarterly 1993 states it best under, The Unarmed Life: The private ownership of firearms is a rebuke to this Utopian (socialist ) zeal. To own firearms is to affirm that freedom and liberty are not gifts of the state. “It is to reserve final judgment about whether the state is encroaching on freedom and liberty, to stand ready to defend that statement with more than mere words, and to stand outside the state’s totalitarian reach.”

Freedom in America (and Oregon) is more than an illusion. Is further proof required the socialist treasonous elite in Salem want us common citizens disarmed? It doesn’t matter if firearm is a matchlock or flintlock musket, a handgun, or AR-15 type rifle: these petty tyrants don’t want us to own any firearm, period!

Class warfare? Absolutely! Two Ashland Daily Tidings commentaries of mine bears this out. They include: : “Anti-gun agenda is class warfare” (Friday, Jan. 9, 2009) and “The war on America’s gun owners” (Monday, Aug. 3, 2009), respectively. These remain archived via the Ashland Daily Tidings at http://www.daily tidings.com.

Finally, “Gun Confiscation for Dummies: ‘Red Flag’ Laws Are Glorified SWAT-ing: Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019, at http://www.thetruthaboutguns. A YouTube video courtesy of a pro-Second Amendment woman attorney is likewise posted at this same site and is titled: “Paying (bribing) states to confiscate guns.”

Write and urge your local state representative/senator to oppose Senate Bill 501.

I’ts all about class warfare and people control! Historically that is all gun control/civilian
disarmament is. And the perpetrators of high treason who pontificate these deceitful
damnable odious “LBJ/KGB” type laws remain sworn enemies of American and Oregon
gun owners, the NRA, private firearms ownership, and our Second Amendment heritage.
In fact they are just plain scum! The I-5 corridor: Portland, Salem, Eugene, half of Medford, and most of Ashland continue to re-elect these “repeat offenders” back to
the Oregon Legislature in Salem, including both Houses of Congress in Washington, D.C!

    • Yeah, scary stuff.
Ultra-Republican grandparents moved from Nebraska to Oregon and now they’re super liberal pro abortionists with a copy of Mein Kampf.
We sent em a bible, they sent it back.

Liberal states change people. They change people and turn them into liberals, so if you know loved ones in bad states, make sure they’re alright and warn them.

      • I’m not familiar enough with the pending legislation to know if revolver capacity is going to be restricted or not, just going by what is said above about a 5 round mag cap. If I were subject to such and revolvers were not covered, a 3″ S&W 686 Plus would be my new carry gun. (of course, that is a good carry gun whether magazine capacity is restricted or not)

        • Why not an 8-shot 327? It’s uggo, but 8 beats 7, and the scandium N-frames are only about the same weight as a Glock 19.

        • Yeah, the 327 is nice too but, even though its not crazy heavy, it is pretty big. I’d not turn my nose up at either a 686 or 327. (or a great many other options for that matter)

        • Double action revolvers with six chambers will be defined as “semiautomatic assault weapons” with the high capacity “wheel thingy”

They will be banned because, “you don’t need more than five rounds to hunt, for recreation or self-defense.” Besides, you can only buy 20 rounds of ammo per month in Oregon anyway. You can fill up your compliant “wheel thingy” four times with your monthly allotment. What else do you really need?

Anything that increases the rate of fire from a single action will be banned, like your thumb. All compliant single action revolvers will require a “hammer button”

You’ll need a special tool to rotate the “wheel thingy” for safety, it’s all about safety.

  3. Holy shit haha name me a pistol that has a five round cap haha literally almost every gun will be banned in this state hoooooooly shit. Oregonians, show up… don’t let this happen.

  4. The state of Oregon is overwhelmingly run by the Democrat ruled urban centers – and that’s not going to change anytime in the future. California and Washington face the very same issue. Therefore — this is only a sign of what’s to come in our future and as our urban areas grow, it’s only to get worse! Therefore — it’s time to get serious about splitting the state into the liberal part of the state (the Willamette Valley) and the conservative part of the state. That’s the only way we’re going to get out from under the heavy thumb of the Socialist left!

  5. I’ll be there.
In a way, it’s too bad it’s on a Saturday. None of the legislators will be there. But the crowd will be a lot bigger than if it was on a weekday.

    • And that is why Oregon’s legislators will be utterly and totally unmoved. If people cannot be bothered to show up on a weekday to speak for their rights, they cannot be bothered to do anything that will impact their legislators in any significant way.

      • As a side note, I am a member of OASR, Oregon Assosiation of Shooting Ranges,
We shut down the capitols phone lines on past bills to a point that they promised to kill the bill if we would stop calling so they could conduct business. Of course that took a week or so to get that word out.

  6. The 501 bill is in trouble, and may indeed be dead. Note “may”.

    According to Northwest Firearms …
“I believe SB501 is really dead. I just recieved this reply from Sen Thatcher’s COS:

Senator Thatcher had a meeting with Senator Prozanski who said the bill is not going anywhere. No hearing or anything. But keep an eye on the other gun bills that could easily go somewhere. If you aren’t acquainted with OLIS (Oregon Legislative Information System), it would be helpful to start looking at it. It’s key to following bills and keeping track of what is going on. Go to: You CAN Make a Difference… to learn more about getting involved and following bills. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

    Linda Heimdahl
    Chief of Staff
    State Senator Kim Thatcher “

    • The only thing I would say to that is as soon as he smells weakness Prozanski will pounce…right off of Bloombergs lap, put something decent on and write more bills.

  7. Noveske needs to sack up and move out of state. That company has been taken over by craft-beer loving hipster fucks now, anyway.

  8. Oregon’s Democratic Governor and Democrat controlled congress have dominated far too long. It’s time that someone sponsor an initiative that puts a moratorium on any/all bills proposed regarding the 2nd amendment.

To go further, an initiative needs to be sponsored that would cause Oregon’s lawmakers to send any/all proposed bills that regard Oregon or Federal constitution alterations be sent to the people to vote on. No further attacks on constitutional law without voter approval.

    • They did that in WA State with WA I-1639, which was voted in with a 61% approval in November 2018. The law redefined ALL semiautomatic rifles regardless of caliber, capacity, features or ability to accept detachable magazines as “semiautomatic assault rifles”. Even .22 LR rimfire semiautomatics with tubular magazines, fixed wood stocks and plain barrels are now “assault rifles” in Washington. The WA State legislature is working to BAN ALL newly defined “assault rifles” in 2019. Come round June 2019 it will be illegal to possess a .22 rimfire semiautomatic like the Marlin model 60 or Ruger 10/22. That’s what direct to the ballot initiatives do in progressive democrat controlled states like Washington and Oregon. Just let the mob come and strip your rights away like they did in Washington.

  9. They made SB501 so extreme for a good reason. They will use it as a bargaining chip. They have a lot of bills lined up to take its place that are just slightly less extreme. So the cowardly republicans will vote for the slightly less extreme bills and be able to tell us they protected gun rights.

    • It goes something like this,

“you can have (a) 5 round magazines (b) 10 round magazines (c) 15 round magazines, with (1) confiscation/destruction of all contraband (2) grandfathering with no future transfer of contraband (3) no grandfathering and removal of contraband from the state”

“we are generous enough out of our progressive hearts to give you (b)(2) thank you, shut up and remember at the next primaries that we compromised, for the safety of the children
