myfoxphoenix.com:

Another home invasion occurs in Phoenix Wednesday morning, after three men wearing masks and carrying guns showed up at the front door of a house claiming they were police officers. They then kicked in the door of the house, which is near 22nd Street and Thomas, police said. The suspects stole wallets and other personal items from the people inside the home. The three left in a car that was also stolen from the home, police said. There were no injuries. Police said there were three family members inside the house at the time.

  1. I wonder what the statistical likelihood is that either an home invasion or police raid would occur, in general. My guess the numbers would be pretty close, 50/50 call – I guess we should just flip a coin with our response.

  2. A few thoughts from a Valley resident on this…

22nd St. + Thomas in the the middle of a Hispanic barrio. This is drug and/or human smuggling related., using tactics pioneered in the streets of Sinaloa or Juarez. I’m guessing the “police” were actually ATF agents looking to recover some lost property. 🙂

  3. And this is why you install kick-proof doors in the Barrio/Ghetto. Metal solid core doors with steel door frame reinforcement and a heavy duty deadbolt, behind an iron safety cage they may get in but it will take a blowtorch and a truck.

  4. We’ve had a several home invasions in Lil Rhody over the years and it’s always had something to do with drugs. The crackheads break into the dealers home and try to rip them off.

  5. I still like the idea of a trap door and pit at the front door. You could keep them like the “milkman room” in Monty Python.

  6. That officer is holding a very nice looking AR! Looks like a piston model. Any ideas?
Oh yeah, what was the story about again… ADHD gun nut here..

  7. Cujo, that made me laugh out loud. Not LOL text, but actually laugh.

Joe, what a sad day when even drug dealers have to protect themselves and their products from criminals….. sad…..

A kick-proof door only works on the one doorway. If your windows and doors are not all brought up to “kick-proof” then you are wasting your time. You know when you are in the high crime area because of the bars on windows and doors.

    • Yep, bars on the windows and doors and a bail bondsman next door to every check cashing joint. A sort of rob and release/before and after symbiosis.

  8. That’s it, it’s official. I’m shooting anyone and everyone who kicks in my front door. I don’t care what time it is, what they shout, what they’re wearing, or how many there are. I had reservations about this scenario before, maybe I could steal a peak out the bedroom window and look for cop cars. Maybe, I’d shout down the hall or around the corner that I was armed and demand identification, but no longer. No hesitation, no trepidation. If my front door ever gets kicked in while I’m home, then there’s going to be lead flying one way or another.

    • Careful Derek….God forbid this actually happens at your house…your public comments will likely be used against you in your trial. I see many comments like this on these forums and a lot of chest beating…all of which may come back to haunt you.

Those who understand the litigious and sometimes ill-conceived laws of the land will also understand to zip the ol’ pie hole unless one wants to try and dig out from some very premeditative comments.

If you’ve taken a CCW class (with a legal slant) or any home defense training, you’ll be very aware of the ramifications of talking, blogging or commenting about scenarios like this. As for me and my house, I shut my mouth – always.
