The NSSF (National Shooting Sports Federation) SHOT Show is the biggest gun show in the United States. It’s a dealer-only launching pad for most of the new firearms and accessories we’ll see rolling out through the year. Last year, we provided an up-to-the-minute farrago of firearms features and sneak peaks at all the latest gun gear. And plenty ‘o booth babes. I’m looking forward to five days (counting the media day) of minimal sleep, walking mile after mile of Venetian splendor, talking to hundreds of reps, and producing scores of articles. That said, Las Vegas is my least favorite city where fate decrees that I’m bound to run into an ex-girlfriend or two (it’s my destiny). Still, I wouldn’t have it any other way. By the way, that’s Chris. And Dan better be there or I’ll never apostrophize the word “it’s” ever again. Still.

  1. Be sure to check out the Aimwell targets at Laser Ammo’s booth. A friend of mine makes them, and they’re awesome.

  2. Just make sure you put a “NSFW” note on any posts where you allow RF to address the “full frontal” aspects of your coverage, m’kay?

Oh, and I’m so looking forward to y’all having so much cool shit to talk about that we’ll have a brief few days of respite from… all of that other stuff.

  3. I’d be perfectly fine with seeing plenty of pictures of attractive booth reps in, ahem, socially acceptable clothing with great smiles and solid product knowledge.

Maybe I’ve been to too many trade shows in Las Vegas, but the booths with the scantily-clad real-life Barbie dolls just kind of creep me out at this point. Though I have absolutely no problem with companies bringing all of the attractive females from their sales and marketing teams.

  4. Wondering if there is going to be any disruptions of the show from the radical left this year? No doubt there will be lots of media coverage about the evil gun makers meeting to plot and plan.

  5. Can’t wait to hear what Mossberg is up to these days. I’m hoping their tacticool lever action is coming out in a pistol caliber.

    • That 464spx would be fun in .357, wouldn’t it? I’m a little afraid to go into my LGS because if the 464spx in .30-30 is still there, I’m going to have to take it home.

      • I agree. The only reason I haven’t gotten a 464spx in 30-30 is I’m hoping for one in 44 or 357. If they don’t come out soon, I may have to get one in 30-30.

        • The .30-30 ammo is cheaper. These are basically 150 yard rifles so why not get the cheaper shooting one?

  6. All right Dan…time for you to heal up and get better for SHOT! As I recall from last year you were the most proficient at photographing Booth Babes…….we’re pulling for you!

  7. If you actually have the time, check out Lagasse’s Stadium in the Palazzo, stadium-style seating in front of a bunch of big tvs and you’re seated on couches instead of at regular tables.

    • Truely sad mikeyb. It’s a gun free venue, except for the displays. We difinately need a better class of under bridge dweller here.

    • It’s been mentioned at least once this year, and was heavily discussed last year, that the SHOT show convention center is a gun free zone. This was pretty weak, even from you.

        • He could have knocked ’em back at home, and his guns would have been within 15-20 feet of him the whole time. What difference does being in another state make? Don’t answer, I don’t care.

The picture was taken for comedic effect, and you know it. Stop being stupid. I know troll is a dirty word around here, somehow it’s seen as casting aspersions. When you spout your anti-gun BS, I don’t think you’re trolling; I think you genuinely believe what you say, for better or worse. But this is not that. I won’t call you a troll, because I’m not allowed to. So I’ll repeat: Stop being stupid.

        • The point was simple. Drinking and gun ownership do not go together, especially excessive drinking. I’m sure you feel that’s too much infringing on your privacy and right to do whatever you want in your own castle, but don’t tell me how responsible you are then.
