My wife and I saw this gun on a television show and we both like it (my wife especially is attracted to bright shiny objects) .
If the gun is concealed no one should see its finish. I am sure it would catch someone’s eye during open carry.
Ick. And I thought Glocks were ugly.
I think it would be nice as the ‘less-lethal’ load gun.
If they can get that iridescent metallic look with OD or Desert Tan multicam colors, I’ll be all over it. But purple and pink and gold and turquoise? Not so much.
I have a friend who hates shiny guns. Wants all his guns to be black. I tell him, “Why? I’m not a ninja. I’m not an assassin. I don’t carry a gun to sneak up on people. If I have to pull a gun on someone, I want them to see it!” This is a finish a bad guy will definitely see. And if he sees it, and recognizes it, and thinks about, it reduces the chance any shots will need to be fired.
If this gets even one more person to purchase and carry a gun who wouldn’t otherwise, I’m in favor. And in any finish, the P239 is a fine, fine firearm. One of the few that hits the sweet spot of being both pleasant to carry and to shoot. I put a hundred rounds through mine just yesterday at lunch.

I’d carry one. Concealed, of course.
I got my wife one of these as her first carry pistol. This is a fine weapon, accurate, concealable, well fit, and a beauty to look at. The pics do not do the finish good service.
I’ve got it! This is the perfect gun for the “Pink Pistols” Organization. SIG is onto something here; I’m sure the marketing campaign will follow shortly.
If you believe (as I do) that the vast majority of defensive gun use (DGU) merely involve brandishing, then I think there is a convincing case for ludicrous guns with gaudy finishes. If you whip out a gold plated Desert Eagle, despite what the resident trolls think of our potential for criminality, no one who isn’t a committed gun nerd aware of its reliability problems is going to mess with you-i.e. no one.
I think if you pointed a black gun or a technicolor gun at me I’d have the same reaction.

I saw a knife with this finish, on sale…I think I’ll stick with black. I’m a dullard. At any rate, this is Prohibited in Canada, though P239s in dull black, with aftermarket (>106mm) barrels, are available. Too expensive for me, though.
