Sorry Charlie…the $1000 price point for red dots is well beyond the law of diminishing returns. There’s simply nowhere near $1000 worth of technology, materials, or workmanship in a red dot sight. I wonder what it actually costs to build that in the Czech Republic? $38 maybe?

For about half of what they are asking i think it would be good. At just under a grand for a red dot, not thinking they will sell alot of them.
The last review of a Meopta red dot on this site was in 2015 and the red dot was garbage. On the other hand, I guess they make OEM glass for some fairly well-regarded companies too.
Either way, an Aimpoint PRO costs half as much and is, well, an Aimpoint.

For a couple hundred $$$ more, you can get the excellent ACOG with the PA ACSS reticle. At least then you know what you’re getting.
Why??? Seriously why 999.99 for a red dot? I can get a Tru Glo for 25 bucks, Primary Arms for around 100, Vortex for around 200, and Aim Point for half that price. Why would Meopta’s pricing guru throw a price like that on a red dot? Surely they know there are other more proven names out there that sell for much less.

Meopta is not an unproven manufacturer. You may have not heard about it, but it is quite old and high quality optics producing company. Combat proven on ACR (Czech army) guns.
Still, a grand for red dot is just silly. Even with 12 intensity level settings. My 80 bucks Bushnell TRS-25 goes only to 11.
Comp m4 is cheaper and has an 8 year battery life.
