I’ve been using the Nemisis holsters for many years for my P-3AT. I especially like the one with the removable cover to eliminate printing. This new one is a loser – it is way to wide to fit into any pants pocket I have ever seen. Plus the mag will print like crazy and cause the fabric to wear….. What are they thinking? JD
Just checked out their site. I see a standard Nemesis in the near future for my 709 Slim. I’ve been getting by with a cheap Uncle Mike’s that comes right out of the pocket with the gun. Does the Nemesis stay in your pocket as they advertise?
As a general rule, yes. It sticks inside my rear jeans pocket when I carry the handgun there. Depending on the shape and opening width of my coat pockets. it generally works well there also. I have one coat where the pocket is a bit large for the holster/J-frame combination, and sometimes the holster comes out with the revolver. You can brush it off the firearm quite easily with your off-side hand, or even by brushing it along the outer surface of your coat. It DEFINITELY works correctly far more often than my old Uncle Mike’s holster. I recommend the DeSantis.
I love my Nemisis but agree this one is a loser. In addition to printing and being too wide, I want my spare mag on the opposite side/hand of the gun, not the same side.
My only pocket holster is for my j frame. the .38 in a uncle mike’s pocket holster fills my pocket up. I can’t figure there would be room there for more ammo.
I’ve been suing the Nemesis for my LCP for a couple years, its great. This version doesn’t interest me much. I’m looking into getting a magazine carrier version to keep in my opposite pocket though.
For those of us who train with the mag carrier on the opposite side of your holster, having the mag in the same pocket could prove problematic in a high pucker situation. Mags for pocket pistols are small anyway, so why not put it in the training side pocket all by itself? Love my DeSantis for my LCP, but same side mag carriers are usually not a good idea.
Its a shame Desantis doesn’t have anyone on staff that actually carries a gun
Not only the magazine is on the wrong side of the body, it appears to interfere with the ability to grasp the pistol
This pocket holster combo doesn’t make sense to me. First, it’s kinda big. Maybe too big for the average pocket. Second, the mag looks like it’s in perfect position to block your hand when you reach for your pocket piece. Finally, how would you reload? Assuming that the gun is in the strong side pocket, would you pull the gun, shoot your rounds, then transfer the gun to the weak hand so you can pull the mag or strip, then insert the mag or load the cylinder and then switch the gun back to your strong hand?
The only person I know who could perform that drill is the gun twirly guy in the viddy we saw a few days ago.
Agreed….mag is in the wrong pocket.
I could see this as a back pocket crossdraw (might need to switch the imprinting resistant bump to the other side), that would have the mag on the correct side, but the mag would still be in the way.
I might be wrong (I have ZERO experience with small pistols or pocket carry), but I’m thinking it could work in strong side rear pocket grabbing the spare may with the weak hand on the draw and holding it like a flashlight until the reload. Might be a little uncomfortable if you have to sit, but there’s my two cents. Let me know what you think.
Michael C, that doesn’t sound easy. I’d have to try it. But personally, I do not like rear pocket carry. YMMV.
