A Beretta Nano, a CRKT Minimalist fixed blade, and a passport are front and center in this pocket dump. It comes from Paul somewhere in the United States who said, “Homemade ring antler one copper don’t tread on me. +P remmi 9mm hollow ammo. Chambered at all times cept for the photo. American flag Velcro patch. Cope chaw for the lower horseshoe.” (Spelling and grammar are his.)

The Nano is a popular model and it’s interesting that it’s listed as being loaded with Remington 9mm +P just because of the added felt recoil in such a small pistol. It’s nice seeing a Minimalist blade in here; nice little fixed-blade knives can be fantastic secondary self-defense tools.

Not sure what to say about the passport…planning to make a run for it at a moment’s notice?

  1. With regard to the passport, depending on where he lives and what he does for a living it may be a requirement.

States that hand out a DL to illegals cause trouble in terms of using that DL for certain types of ID such as getting on a plane. If he flies a lot and lives in a state like New Mexico he might need the passport to board an aircraft for work.

    • Not until after 2020. Any driver’s license will do. Once 2020 roles around you will need some form of federally approved ID like a enhanced DL. I didn’t bother because I have retired DoD Identification card. I would recommend getting the passport card in addition to the book. It is much more portable although is only good for domestic air travel. If you have an enhanced DL from a State bordering Canada you can use it to cross the border

    • In my profession it’s not unheard of to have to make last minute unplanned international flights when your already away from home domestically. My passport goes with me everywhere.

    • My I D. card has a star at the right hand top, international passport to board a plane. Looks exactly the same as my D L. minus the star.

  2. I carry a Beretta Nano as well, loaded with Hornady American Gunner 9mm, 124gr. +P ammo. It’s really no more snappier using +P ammo, than non-+P. I love my Nano and have several thousand rounds through it without any issues.

    • I used to have a Nano but gave it up for a double stack subcompact. I am regret the decision and am thinking of buying another one as a hedge against a 10 round limit.

      • Why? In the event of a ban, or attempted ban, the guns that are going to disappear quick will be anything mentioned in the ban. If you want something with less then 10 rounds there will plenty laying around every gunstore.

        • And then everyone will start buying them up because they need something to carry and ractice with. If a ban happens then your more then 10 rounder is useless. It’s going to sit in your safe. I am also going to get a M&P 45c because it was design with a 10 round capacity

        • Do you like risking getting thrown in prison? Do you not understand how others might decide not to risk that and be willing to change guns?

It’s REAL easy to talk big about noncompliance on the internet until you get in a car crash, the EMTs find your gun, give it to the police for safekeeping, and you get charged with a felony. Then, as you pay thousands of dollars for a lawyer to work out a plea deal where you get long-term probation and a suspended sentence, you can feel good that you had 16 rounds in your handgun that day instead of 11. Don’t expect people to risk much for that.

      • You can pick up Nano’s even cheaper now than when I bought mine a little over five years ago. The one I purchased came with a factory installed LaserMax red laser. If you get another one, make sure to replace the factory installed polymer guide rod with a stainless steel guide rod. It keeps the Nano from having FTE problems with 115gr. 9mm ammo. Something to do with the polymer rod flexing in the middle with lighter weight bullets. Got a stainless steel guide rod for $40, and haven’t had a single jam or FTE since.

  3. Don’t really know what to say. Never shot a NANO. It’s just another vanilla 9mm. Yawn. Just wondering where he thinks he’s going with all that stuff. And a passport. Quit traveling overseas years ago. You used to could at least carry a knife. Stay in the United States.

  4. Not a Nano fan although they shoot ok. I agree that +P Rem ammo is just as easy to control as standard pressure.
9BPLE is a handful in the G43 but easier than 357 in an LCR.

    And that is dip…not chaw.

  5. The Nano SUCKS!!! It has no slide lock! I had one. When it would malfunction, as it would fail to extract often, you would have to put in an empty mag to lock the slide back and dig a casing out of the chamber. Then put a loaded mag back in to start firing. Crappiest gun ever.

    • Extraction problems with the Nano can be completely nixed simply by replacing the factory polymer guide rod with a stainless steel guide rod. When I first bought my Nano, I was having extraction and FTE problems only with 115 grain 9mm. Saw a number of posts online about changing the guide rod. Changed it out, and haven’t had a single jam or FTE since. Not having a slide lock is no big deal. It still locks back after last round, and releasing the slide by using the rear aberrations is just as easy and fast as using a slide lock. The whole design of the Nano is to mitigate snagging upon draw.

  6. Nothing says murica like a can of dip. Just about as bad as smoking but the constant spitting and wad in the lips just screams classy. Bet his pants pockets have a nice ring the shape of the can impressed in them.

    • One my girlfiends had a son that chews, I was working a hay field, always hungry always thirsty. She pulls up with lunch so I jump in and grab the sack of food and a hard suck on the straw from the pop styrofoam cup sitting in her passenger side cup holder. Fcking little bastard was using it for his spitoon. Damn,,,needless to say evenings supper did not go well as I politely discussed my opposition to the spitoon incident and possum was requested to leave.
