“A Delta State University geography instructor is on the run after shooting dead his girlfriend and then a colleague on Monday morning,” dailymail.co.uk reports. “Shannon Lamb, 45, [above] allegedly gunned down church outreach minister Amy Prentiss, 41, at their home in Gautier, Mississippi, at around 6am local time on Monday. He then allegedly drove 300 miles to his place of work, called 911 to alert them to Prentiss’ death, then opened fire on the campus at 10.45am local time, killing assistant history professor Ethan Schmidt . . .
While police have kept mum about a possible motive at this stage in the probe, Fox News reported late Monday afternoon that investigators believe a love triangle may be behind the two killings.
The news site claimed citing unnamed sources that Lamb may have been under the impression that his lover was also in a relationship with Schmidt, who was married.

The usual diatribe and implications from Scott Pelly on CBS about “more gun deaths” was totally absent during the uncharacteristically short report he gave about the incidents. and no editorial comments about “more gun control” or lamenting about how “gun crime’ is out of control.
Shocked I was at his lack of antigun condemnation. Maybe that was because the perp was so clearly liberal he and his liberal elite news-masters didn’t want to make too much of the tragedy out of embarrassment.

I don’t think it necessarily had to be a love triangle. After shooting the girlfriend (for whatever reason) he might have decided to go all-in and get rid of a coworker he didn’t like. Going on the run probably means he’s hoping for suicide by cop. Or a teaching position at Yale.
