Here it is, the headline posted by the Washington Post BEFORE they amended it: Jerry Falwell Jr.: ‘If more good people had concealed-carry permits, then we could end those Muslims. And here’s what Falwell said: “I’ve always thought that if more good people had concealed-carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walked in . . .  and killed.” In other words, the Post deliberately misled readers into thinking that Reverend Falwell was telling his congregation to arm-up and shoot Muslims. The Post knew what it was doing; they devoted a paragraph in the article to letting Falwell explain that he wasn’t calling for the assassination of all Muslims . . .

Falwell said that when he referred to “those Muslims,” he was referring to Islamic terrorists, specifically the those behind the attacks in Paris and in San Bernardino. “That’s the only thing I would clarify,” Falwell said. “If I had to say what I said again, I’d say exactly the same thing.”

Shame on the Post. Again. Still.

    • That’s what I was thinking.
I do appreciate that the old and obsolete media is so willing to surrender their last remaining shreds of credibility with these types of instances. I would venture a bet that at least a couple people wont renew subscription.

    • WAPO and the NYT, handmaidens of the Progressive Narrative.

They are a good fit for the man-in-the-street saying about the two main government controlled press organs in the Soviet Union in the late 1970’s, before the fall not long afterwards:

” There is no news in Pravda (“Truth”) and no truth in Izvestya (“News”).”

With trust in media approaching trust in politicians, at below 20%, I’d say the Reliable Party Organs are rapidly becoming as widely despised as the propaganda outlet for the Left. Anyone notice that MSNBC is adding Bloomberg News to their lineup? I suppose thats a step up from Al Jizzwaderas, for Jennifer Macias of the NYT fame, and the Trolls At The Trace, anyway.

  1. Got to love the left…they cant let a single of their pet groups be painted with a broad brush (i.e., all Muslims are terrorists, which their not), but when it comes to gun owners they use the broadest brush possible to paint us all as monsters. Gun owners have become the “approved people to hate” for the left.

The NRA should incorporate as a religion, and get some 1st amendment protection. Sundays at the range in prayer

  2. I think we need to issue permits to be allowed to be part of the press. Applicants can submit a background check and application at the sheriffs office. If approved they may report on a list of topics issued by the state. This common sense approach would prevent the media from telling lies.

    • Yep. Perhaps their legal council gave them some advice. Though, of course this doesn’t change the fact that it was posted in the first place. If the Post doesn’t fire the writer, all the way up to the highest level editor who approved it, they are still dirty.

  3. The NRA should not have to be a church to get 1st amendment protection.

Besides progressives are coming after the church also so it would not work.

  4. Falwell, in that same speech, urged students at his Liberty University to obtain carry permits and to carry at school. The campus police force reportedly even provides the training for free.

I didn’t realize that Virginia was among the campus carry states, or might that only apply there to private institutions like Liberty?

    • Property owners can make their own rules. Default is no carry as it for public worship services in houses of worship.

  5. The main stream media is beyond shame. Like Mussolini, it’s not until the very end when he was to strung up by the Italian people did he even feel shame for his fascist totalitarianism. Our main stream media will be the same, no shame until they’re run out of town with the proverbial pitchforks and torches.

  6. You’d almost think that due to dwindling revenues they laid off their entire editorial staff and replaced them with 23 year old journalism majors.

      • No, one year olds haven’t yet been indoctrinated by the commies running our university system. 23 year olds are both naive and unwilling to question their own convictions. One year olds are geniuses by comparison.

  7. I have to say that it is nice that the Progressives have become more overt in their attempts to undermine our freedoms. It is helping to wake up Americans to danger that the Progressives present to the freedoms our forefathers fought and died for. Will it wake up enough Americans to turn this around before it gets bad…before the elections next year? I don’t know. I can say that I have hope. When I went to my favorite range yesterday, and it was jam packed with more new shooters than I have ever seen at this range. I heard this morning that Venezuela’s socialist revolution, which Obama tried to support, just crumbled. And there are other significant signs things are turning. The Democrat Party may have jumped the shark. The question remains: What will Obama do in his last year in office? How far down the path of tyranny will he go?

    • If we elect any of the Dem candidates in 2016, we are finished. And most of the GOP candidates would only delay the inevitable downfall, at best. And yes, if Harry Reid and his crew in the Senate continue to protect Obama from impeachment, Obama could indeed do so much damage that, best case scenario, it would take decades to fix.

  8. A Christian university that encourages students to carry a concealed weapon??

And it’s called Liberty University. How appropriate.

Except for a few other states that allow for CC on university grounds,; the rest of academia is a waste land of statist and totalitarian brainwashing. Indoctrinating in the perverse and twisted ideas of some type of collective that sees individuals as insignificant pieces of meat that only finds importance in some souless “collective good”.

This too shall pass and this Borg like entity will consume itself and out of the ashes will arise a new people committed to individual fulfillment in connection to thier higher power, living by conscious agreement with the laws of the universe, which are the laws of G-d, founded in unconditional love.

  9. The only time I would ever read Wapo or nyt or the like is if I was in the mood for some editorialized news coverage.

If I want straight up news coverage I look elsewhere and not only one source.

  10. That’s all he said…

Hell, anti’s call for the imprisonment and/or death of gun owners, and their children, on the daily.

  11. The godless hate christians because they don’t fight back. And they fear what happened hundreds of years ago. To them christians have not changed from the way the godless perceive them.

The godless fear muslims because they will kill them for speaking ill of Islam. The godless will become the slaves of muslims to make them happy. Yes there are godless who will fight. But like Pen Jillette an atheist, who owns guns he would never support a Christian that supports the second amendment for office. That’s his choice.
I do like Pen and teller. Their Bullsh*t program on the second amendment was outstanding.

The primary defenders of our Constitutional rights are people of faith.
The primary enemies are those who hate individual freedom. There are some christians and jews in this group.
But most are godless who support only one half of the 1st amendment. And even then for only the people they approve of. The rest they will just twist their words.

You can protest at a military recruiting station. Break the glass windows throw human waste onto the building like was done in Berkeley California back in 2007.
But you can’t protest an abortion clinic. The godless will draw a line around the building you can’t cross. If you do you get arrested.

Obama claims he is a Christian. He does not act like one. He acts like a person educated in Islam who hates christians and liberty in America. The same america who loved and believed in him to elect him president. Yes there are some people who love this man.

    • It’s not ‘love’ it is a form of co-dependency. By electing soft-shouldered phony ‘christian’ leaders they can all get together and lay blame on everyone who would stand up against tyranny instead of throwing their hands in the air (to surrender) and shrugging their shoulders and blaming ‘all those people owned by guns’

      • I agree their codependency is very overwhelming to them. The magic of a black person being elected president is overwhelming to them, and they project whatever it is they believe on to this president, even though it is not true. In reality he is not a good person.

    • What is it with you? People like you give religion a bad name. You are afraid of anything that is not like you. The antis paint all gun owners with the same broad brush that you are painting people of different beliefs. How about you remove the religious aspect and base your interactions with people on individual morals. I don’t give a crap about a persons religious preference when I vote. I pick the person best suited for the job. I don’t pick my friends based on their religion. I pick them based on shared interests and character. And I definitely don’t care about appeasing anyone out of fear of retaliation. That PC crap is for the liberals. I think you are confusing godless people with people who have no morals. They are not one in the same. In fact I know plenty of godless people who have better morals than my friends who are devout 4 day a week church goers. So before you go and assume things about these so called “godless” people why don’t you take a step back and re-examine what the United States and the Constitution are all about. Individualism.

      • I hope and pray that I’m wrong and you are correct about the godless.

In the southern bible belt gun civil rights are expanding. The racist gun laws are being removed from the books. In western states they are instituting many of the same laws used to deny gun civil rights to blacks.
In Kentucky a married gay couple will soon be able to have a Marijuana farm and use machine guns to guard their property. This was discussed on a previous post.
This will never happen in the godless lead areas in america. Kentucky has a history of having legal Marijuana farms for two hundred years. In Kentucky machine gun sales and possession are legal.
You can’t have a Marijuana farm in California for example. They still arrest people for that. You can’t have a machine gun in California. But law makers in Kentucky are working to make Marijuana farming legal. The THC level will be very low in Kentucky pot farms.

I agree with you christians can be immoral. That is not the point. You don’t have to like a hateful law abiding person. You just have to support their constitutional rights.

  12. Every time the Democrats bring up gun control, it’s probably a good idea to steer the conversation back to Obama’s foreign policy failures. Basically the Democrats are screaming gun control right now to distract from Obama’s and the party’s disastrous foreign policy that left the world far less stabile than it was on January 01 2009.

  13. Just like Hitchens said, “If we could have given Jerry Falwell an enema before he died he could had been buried in a shoe box”

His pretentious and unethical son isn’t far off.

This has nothing to do with his quote, he’s right.

However, the Falwells are now, and always have been, true pieces of shit.

    • Actually he said “matchbox” not “shoebox.”

If you gave [Jerry] Falwell an enema he could be buried in a matchbox.”

I believe he said it on the Hannity show shortly after Jerry Falwell died, and I happened to hear it. Hannity went ballistic. (I don’t often have the opportunity to listen to talk radio.)

  14. Wow nothing like speaking ill of someone who can’t defend himself…from the Hustler school of journalism? I’ll Jerry and Jerry Jr. over You anytime. Yeah sue these azzwholes…

  15. Perhaps the US attorney general will persecute this man for his bad speech against Muslims, as she just said she would for anyone speaking ill of muslims.
I guess the 1st amendment is only for those the government and it’s supporters like.
