Anti-gun billionaire Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety lobbying group will spend at least $60 million to support gun control candidates in 2020, leading the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms to declare “Last year he bought Virginia, now he’s trying to buy the United States.”

“Virginia was a test of Bloomberg’s buying power,” CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb observed, “and look how that has worked out. Now his gun prohibition lobbying group is promising to roll out the big bucks to buy state legislative and congressional races nationwide. He is weaponizing his wealth in an attempt to purchase the presidency, along with Capitol Hill and every state legislature in hopes of forcing every American to live under his dictates.”

Bloomberg’s surrogates are reportedly focusing on 13 states including Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin. The effort also is targeting Republican Senators Cory Gardner of Colorado and Martha McSally of Arizona for defeat.

“Gun owners cannot allow Bloomberg to buy their gun rights,” Gottlieb warned. “The Constitution is not for sale, no matter how much money some wealthy demagogue is willing to spend.

“If anyone thinks Bloomberg is scary as a candidate,” he continued, “they will be downright terrified if he were to actually win the White House and have a majority of state and federal lawmakers beholden to him for getting them elected. That kind of power should never be allowed.

“We have watched Bloomberg’s money influence politics in Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Colorado and elsewhere with considerable alarm,” Gottlieb stated, “and now his Everytown lobbying group is not even being subtle about its intentions. Their goal is to oust as many pro-rights public officials as possible this fall, paving the way for the kind of government our forefathers threw off 234 years ago.

“This is a call to action,” he stated, “for every gun owner in the country to get engaged. Be sure you’re registered to vote at your current address, and make sure your friends and family members are registered. Start organizing get-out-the-vote efforts in your communities. Get involved in political campaigns and actively support candidates who support your rights, and above all, make protecting the Second Amendment your personal responsibility.

“Michael Bloomberg’s wealth does not give him the right to determine anyone else’s rights,” Gottlieb said.
“America’s gun owners can’t let this country go on the auction block. There are no dollar signs on the Bill of
Rights, not now, not ever.”

With more than 650,000 members and supporters nationwide, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (www.ccrkba.org) is one of the nation’s premier gun rights organizations. As a non-profit organization, the Citizens Committee is dedicated to preserving firearms freedoms through active lobbying of elected officials and facilitating grass- roots organization of gun rights activists in local communities throughout the United States.

  1. There are two kinds of people that Bloombag hates – gun owners and black people. Both will vote against him. I hope that we and they will be enough.

  2. Increasingly, this Country is being run by, and in the interest of, a small group of fabulously wealthy or politically well connected people like Bloomberg. They view the rest of the country with contempt and disdain and think they have the right to force us to live our lives in a manner agreeable to them. How long are ordinary people are willing to put up with it? We’ve got several generations of kids who are now of voting age who have been propagandized by leftist teachers, and they don’t share my views on American history, individual liberty, or individual responsibility. Additionally, we have imported tens of millions of legal and illegal immigrants who haven’t assimilated and who cling to the belief systems of their home countries. So it looks like people are going to continue to be willing to give up their personal autonomy to a handful of billionaires and bureaucrats so long as they keep getting “free stuff”. I pray I’m wrong about this, but the trend certainly doesn’t look good. I strongly believe we are more highly taxed, more highly regulated, and less free than we were when we were subjects of George III.

Bloomberg, Soros et al – with the connivance of the Supreme Court – have hijacked this Country.

    • Free stuff, indeed.

      Bread and circuses.
      – Roman Empire, ca. 3rd century A.D.

      Nothing new under the sun.
      – Ecclesiastes 1:9, King Solomon

Vote for me, and I’ll make all your wildest dreams come true!

      • Free stuff from the taxpayers?

Giving free stuff to people like trump who is proud of paying no taxes? But is living rent free in the White House, with millions of dollars spent on his protection detail as he plays golf?

Trump, who claimed he was raising money for the veterans but instead gave $25,000 to Pam Bondi from his veterans foundation so she would drop the suit against his fraudulent trump university?

It is interesting that the minority family in the White House was paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in income tax over there eight years, but Trump won’t even show his tax returns, the very height of transparency, right?

        • Your tired old “…but Trump paid no taxes!” line from the Democrat playbook was explained long ago. As we all know, his businesses posted huge losses at one point, and his carry-over into subsequent years (a fully legal tax tactic used by corporations everywhere) balanced out profits, resulting in no taxes due for those particular years. As the carry-overs became depleted, the profits from that point forward became taxable.

But you already knew this, right??

        • Haz. He knows the truth. But if he told it he’d burst into flames. Since he’s still alive……

But, on the bright side. He’s working overtime to get Trump a second term. He’s just too clueless to realize it.

And he worships at the feet of rich old white people. bloomberg, bernie, the clintons, soros. All the while proclaiming the gop to be evil rich and white.

          Fascinating.

        • “he worships at the feet of rich old white people”

What weird mental movies you must have playing in your head. My TV set is filled with images of thousands of old white people cheering for the old wrinkled bald orange guy. That’s really the only worship I’ve seen lately, other than the almighty dollar by trumps billionaire cabinet members.

Most of us liberals could care less about guys like Soros or Bloomberg or Steyer, that’s not what this is about.

All that gun control stuff is just opportunistic politicians thinking it’s a good bandwagon to be on, but there’s no dark conspiracy as you all fantasize to justify your child like fear.

And trumps big business losses to avoid paying taxes are a hoot. That’s just another corporate tax Dodge, creative bookkeeping can show any company is ‘losing money’.

That’s why Trump has gone to court to prevent his financial records from being revealed to the prosecutors in SDNY, even after boatloads of evidence about his malfeasance.

And calling his hush money pay off to his porn star whores a ‘business expense’ is not a legitimate tax deduction.

But you knew that didn’t you.

So again, it is clear Trump is not paying his fair share in taxes, while our troops are bolting boiler plate on the sides of their Humvees and 50 serviceman now show TBI because we didn’t have a viable anti-missile defense.

So much for the patriot batteries bullshit, it’s effectiveness is a lie, and American service members die.

        • can’t help thinking this guy reminds me of “Willard”…there’s even a physical resemblance…

    • “Bloomberg, Soros et al – with the connivance of the Supreme Court – have hijacked this Country.” I think you’re right, although I think they are hijacking (rather than having already hijacked) the country. Soros has been busily corrupting the nations District Attorney’s offices by electing stooges who will do his bidding. Bloomberg is the exact same, only with a slightly different agenda. The reason they both oppose the 2nd Amendment, populism, Trump, political conservatives, etc., is pretty obvious: we’re the people their emergent police state will have to get rid of first. And the big problem with that is 1. we can observe what they are doing, and 2. we are armed to the teeth and—thanks to our endless wars—number among ourselves the highest number of people with direct combat experience since WWII.

    • The new agenda for humanity requires that no one will have the capacity to fight back. It has been said: “Our Task of creating a Socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed.” No other explanation is possible.
History has repeatedly demonstrated that disarming good people in the name of making bad people harmless only eventually facilitates politicians shooting their own countrymen. History…learn from it or be doomed to relive it.
Norman Thomas, the six-time Socialist Party candidate for U.S. President, said the following in a 1944 speech: “The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism,’ they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened…. I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democratic Party has adopted our platform.” And, today, the Republican Party RINOs have adopted it as well. It is no longer a situation of “enemy in the wire”. Today….and for several decades….the enemy sits in the Command Post. America has been overrun.
As Nikita Krushshev said in 1954, “First, we will take Eastern Europe, then the masses of Asia, then we will encircle the United States which will be the last bastion of capitalism. We will not have to attack. It will fall like an overripe fruit into our hands.” In 1960, Krushchev stated, “We cannot expect Americans to jump from capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of socialism until they suddenly awake to find they have Communism.”
The old Soviet Union may have fallen; but, Krushchev’s statements are ringing true as we look at the changes that have taken place and are taking place in the US today. No longer does Socialism or Communism hold a stigma to be hidden away. Politicians are now openly campaigning on that oppressive platform and winning in some areas.
The list of 45 communist goals contained in the ~1958 book “Naked Communist” was read into the Congressional Record (Appendix, pp. A34-A35) by U.S. Congressman Albert S. Herlong, Jr. of Florida, on January 10, 1963. This is the plan to overtake America without firing a shot. As Russian Premier Nitka Khrushchev once said, “……America will fall into our hands like over ripe fruit.”
List is no longer a “TO DO” list, but, today, is a “DONE” checklist.
-Take over one or both of the major political parties. DONE
      -Take over the media. DONE
-Take over the entertainment industry, DONE
-Take over the educational system, DONE (Lenin said, Give me the children and I will transform the country.)
-Destroy the family unit DONE (1960’s Johnson Adm began welfare to mothers with dependent children…….with the stipulation that there be an absence of a male figure in the home. Goodbye Father; Hello Baby Daddy.)
      -DONE -DONE -DONE -DONE
      PLOP….like over ripe fruit.
American has been over run. No Longer does the situation of “enemy in the wire” apply. For today, and for several decades, the enemy sits in the Command Post. Freedom is never won at the ballot box…only lost. The cartridge box wins freedom. All political power comes from the barrel of a gun.
BROKEN ARROW!!! BROKEN ARROW!!! BROKEN ARROW!!!. EXPEND ALL AVAILABLE ORDINANCE ON OUR POSITION.

  3. The onion should go back to nyc and leave the rest of us alone…. or maybe worry about who’s smoking in Times Square…. or what size coke you have.. As far as I’m concerned he should have got in the coffin with asshole Cuomo

  4. You’ve no doubt seen some of his presidential commercials. What a pathetic POS. Just like him to waltz in and try to buy the election.

  5. ” Their goal is to oust as many pro-rights public officials as possible this fall, paving the way for the kind of government our forefathers threw off 234 years ago.”

Save us, Obi-Wan Clarence Thomas, you’re our only hope…

  6. I think the Supreme Court’s fixing to come in and start shutting this shit show down, this is all illegal Lobbing and buyouts and goes against the Constitution

  7. Virginia is A prime Example of what will happen Be forewarned. Gun rights is the only thing protecting a free state from tyranny. Lets hope people wake up!!!

  8. well. like I said 2mouths back He will start a civil war,,, I live in florida and Iam black an love my guns,,,,, like the sign says come take it

  9. The picture in this article contains a picket sign that looks like it was drawn by a retarded 5 year old brat….. is that supposed to change my mind about guns or just solidify my hatred for liberals….?

    • By the look of it I would say it was made by the woman’s kid(s) or some other kids. Liberals love to brainwash and use their kids as young as possible. They have that in common with radical Muslims and other cultists and extremists, train them young. In a deranged liberal mind, a 6 year old is mature enough to hear about gender fluidity, trans “culture” (or lack), abortions….I’d rather raise my family close from an active volcano than an urban nest of libtards.

  10. “The Constitution is not for sale, no matter how much money some wealthy demagogue is willing to spend.” — Alan Gottlieb

When you offer enough money to our nation’s legislators and governors, it sure is.

I am kind of surprised that Bloomberg doesn’t just offer a million dollars cash directly (not via campaign contributions) to key legislators in each “conservative” state. He doesn’t need to pay off all legislators in “conservative” states since nearly half (on average) of legislators already vote the way that he wants. He only needs to “win over” a few senators and representatives in each “conservative” state to control which bills they propose and pass.

And as I implied in my previous paragraph, the states where a majority of the legislators already vote the way that he wants — such as California, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Illinois, and Connecticut — don’t need his millions at all.

Thus, it is quite easily doable for Bloomberg to literally buy-off our state legislatures. He could spend $500 million and buy-off 500 legislators.

Oh, and the same thing would apply at the federal level. He only needs to buy off a few — between four and six — key United States Senators to have his way with Congress.

And thus far we are only talking about Bloomberg. What if Bezos chips in a mere $1 billion (practically a rounding error on his balance sheet) to help buy off another 1,000 legislators? Or to offer $2 million to buy off 500 legislators? And how about if the giant corporations get into the action as well? Apple and Google could throw in a combined $10 billion without breaking a sweat. Now we are talking about the ability to offer on the order of $2 million dollars to 1000 legislators for the next five or six terms.

    • That would officially be called “bribing” politicians.

It would only take a few investigators with hidden cameras to turn that kind of plan into something bigger than Abscam.

    • He already is. Bill Galvano, head of the Republican majority in the florida state senate already took 500,000 from Bloomberg, and has already greenlit several bills through committee that are direct violations to our state constitution. Thankfully, and hopefully, our state house and governor have signaled, and will abide by, their opposition quite clearly. The senate bill list here is more disgusting than Virginia. Their failure to succeed in total gun control isn’t for lack of trying.

  11. Obama, Trump, Bush, Bloomberg…as little people we won’t notice the difference. It’s all a bunch of promises and big words to get the voters all pumped up, then nothing. Bloomberg won’t take your guns anymore than Trump will send Hilary to prison. The man probably doesn’t give a **** whether you own 200 “assault weapons” or nothing, it’s all pretend so hardcore liberals are happy and vote. By the way, didn’t republicrooks screwed gun owners in Florida? Pushing the legal age to buy a handgun to 21, ref flag laws? It wasn’t solely the demotards who voted the laws, then Governor Rick Scott and Senator Rubio openly supported the new legislation.
One thing is sure, the elite isn’t afraid of private gun owners, you’re not going to win a war with AR15 rifles. You can put thousands of $ in the newest, most badass gun you’ll get hit by a drone like the rest of us and you won’t even see it coming.
I personally don’t care who owns what, criminals and terrorists will get weapons no matter what laws you pass. I just think a lot of people and groups are putting a lot of resources into that battle, while a serious reform of our pathetic education system, better jobs, healthcare, etc are more important for the present and the future.

    • “One thing is sure, the elite isn’t afraid of private gun owners, you’re not going to win a war with AR15 rifles.”

I guess you fell asleep in History class when they discussed how a bunch of Afghan goatherders with sloppy AKs held off the Soviets for twenty years and wore them down until they withdrew back to Russia, or that little thing called the American Revolution almost 250 years ago. Among other battles.

Please don’t tell us you’re one of those mush heads who thinks someone with an AR cannot fight as effectively as someone armed with an M4. They both fire a little bullet at screaming velocities to inflict damage on any attacker with equal results. Your claim is like saying an Acura isn’t worth buying because it isn’t a Ferrari, when they both will go 80mph on the freeway just fine and get you to your destination when you need them to.

    • You need to take a look at asymmetric warfare. You don’t take on the government forces head on. You will lose. You wear them down with constant pinpricks. Ambushes, IEDs, odd angry shots, road blocks via fallen trees or damaged bridges, occasional sabotage, and psychological warfare.

There are enough veterans who have worked on the other side of asymmetric warfare to know what worked against them. And when the other side loses patience and conducts reprisals, this further alienates reduces the legitimacy of the government forces.

      • Probably more than half of the existing government forces will switch to our side and bring their weapons systems with them.

    • The Republican majority passed all the infringement laws after the school shooting. Democrats actually voted against many, as far as im aware because they didnt got far enough. We almost got an ambiguous assault weapons ban by “voice vote” because of that republican senate majority leader. It almost goes without saying, trust no one…, and verify.

    • Technically I think he could be arrested and charged because he offered to donate lots of $ to congressmen if they would vote to impeach Trump. That sounds pretty much like an attempt to bribe public officials to me.

  12. He has to pay me up front. Cash. But I’m not a reliable guy, so then I’m going to the gun shop for a few toys and ok I’ll probably buy a couple more Swiss watches while I’m at it and….

  13. Bloomberg is misinterpeting the reason for his success in Virginia. So is everybody else. Virginia fell under a court ordered redistricting plan that allowed so-called “neutral experts” to draw legislative boundaries. These outside experts were mostly Democrats. This allowed the Democrats to win a slim majority in legislature despite having fewer votes After the redistricting in a similar action in Wisconsin made it to SCOTUS. The Court ruled in Wisconsin’s favor and allowed the legislature to redistrict. Another factor was Virginia’s off-off year election schedule which generals sees a low turn out when the governor’s race is not in play. Of course now that SCOTUS called redistricting a legislative function. I expect to see the same kind of gerrymander that California uses.

    • I have also heard (Sonnie Johnson on her Saturday afternoon SIRIUS program) that the Virginia Republican Party leadership dropped the ball by not fielding candidates for all races and many Virginia Republicans showed up at the polls and found literally no Republican candidates on the ballot. There is only a narrow margin in both houses. Bloomberg has the cash and uses it, but in reality just saw an opportunity took advantage of this lack of enthusiasm plus traditionally low turnout in Virginia’s off year elections.

The lesson we all need to learn: Eternal vigilence is the cost of Liberty.

  14. I feel like it’s dangerous to pin anti-gun activism on Bloomberg. There are plenty of people who hold anti-gun sentiments (and are willing to vote for this who share those sentiments). It’s up to gun owners to promote a better image of ourselves and many of us are doing a piss-poor job of it.
