After almost every high profile shooting, the still-unidentified perpetrator is always reported to be a crazed right wing NRA life member who married his sister and has a stars and bars sticker on his car. Until he’s not. Until the facts inevitably come out and he’s almost invariably revealed to be a mentally disturbed wacko who everyone knew would do something like that one day.

Now, in the run-up to Monday’s annual Virginia Citizens Defense League Lobby Day at the Virginia capitol in Richmond, law-abiding gun owners who object to the legislature’s headlong push to limit their Second Amendment rights are being portrayed as violent insurrectionists, racists, white supremacists and Nazis.

Media reports are happily conflating a few keyboard commandos and some fringe actors bent on stirring up violence with America’s gun owners as a whole. A group that is the most law-abiding cohort in the population.

This portrayal by most of the media serves the purpose of justifying not only Governor Ralph Northam’s “emergency” firearms ban in the Richmond Capitol Square area, along with the legislature’s drive to ram through as many gun control restrictions as they can before facing the voters again.

It’s become a self-fulfilling prophecy to a certain extent. Legislators pushing gun bans and talking confiscation, gun owners saying ‘I will not comply,” and the media weighing in emphasizing neo-Nazi arrests and predicting violence in the streets on Monday.

The VCDL has done everything it possibly can to tamp down the rhetoric and encourage those who plan to attend the Lobby Day rally to show up and show the world the truth; that America’s gun owners — about 100 million of us — are law-abiding citizens who oppose legislated limits on our constitutionally guaranteed civil rights.

But some in Virginia government and a few fringe groups, some that probably support the gun control push, would like nothing better than to see something bad happen in front of the capitol on Monday. It would only further their efforts and paint the majority of gun owners in the worst possible light, a depiction that would be happily echoed in every news report of the situation.

We can only hope that Virginia’s gun control advocates and their media cheerleaders are disappointed by a heavily attended, peaceful rally on Monday.

Here’s the Associated Press’s latest effort . . .

By Alan Suderman and Denise Lavoie, AP

Police are scouring the internet for clues about plans for mayhem, workers are putting up chain link holding pens around Virginia’s picturesque Capitol Square, and one lawmaker even plans to hide in a safe house in advance of what’s expected to be an unprecedented show of force by gun-rights activists.

What is provoking their anger in this once reliably conservative state is the new Democratic majority leadership and its plans to enact a slew of gun restrictions. This clash of old and new has made Virginia – determined to prevent a replay of the Charlottesville violence in 2017 – ground zero in the nation’s raging debate over gun control.

The Virginia Citizens Defense League’s yearly rally at the Capitol typically draws just a few hundred gun enthusiasts. This year, however, thousands of gun activists are expected to turn out. Second Amendment groups have identified the state as a rallying point for the fight against what they see as a national erosion of gun rights.

“We’re not going to be quiet anymore. We’re going to fight them in the courts and on the ground. The illegal laws they’re proposing are just straight up unconstitutional,” said Timothy Forster, of Chesterfield, Virginia, an NRA member who had one handgun strapped to his shoulder and another tucked into his waistband as he stood outside a legislative office building earlier this week.

VCDL president Philip Van Cleave said he’s heard from groups around the country that plan to send members to Virginia, including the Nevada-based, far-right Oath Keepers, which has promised to organize and train armed posses and militia.

Extremist groups have blanketed social media and online forums with ominous messages and hinted at potential violence. The FBI said it arrested three men linked to a violent white supremacist group Thursday who were planning to attend the rally in Richmond, according to a law enforcement official who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss an active investigation.

Democrats have permanently banned guns inside the Capitol, and Gov. Ralph Northam declared a temporary state of emergency Wednesday that bans all weapons, including guns, from Capitol Square, during the rally to prevent “armed militia groups storming our Capitol.” Gun-rights groups have asked the Virginia Supreme Court to rule Northam’s declaration unconstitutional, but the court on Friday upheld the ban.

Northam said there were credible threats of violence – like weaponized drones being deployed over Capitol Square. On Friday, t he FAA issued a temporary flight restriction, including for drones, over Capitol airspace during the rally.

The governor said some of the rhetoric used by groups planning to attend Monday’s rally is reminiscent of that used ahead of the white nationalist rally in Charlottesville on May 13, 2017. One woman was killed and more than 30 other people were hurt when a white supremacist drove his car into a crowd of counter protesters there.

The Virginia State Police, the Virginia Capitol Police and the Richmond Police are all coordinating the event and have plans for a huge police presence at Monday’s rally that will include both uniformed and plainclothes officers. Police plan to limit access to Capitol Square to only one entrance and have warned rally-goers that they may have to wait hours to get past security screening.

Nonessential state staff were being told to stay away. Del. Lee Carter, a Democratic Socialist, said he’s planning to spend Monday at an undisclosed location because of threats he has received.

“I ain’t interested in martyrdom,” Carter tweeted.

Northam lamented that such precautions were necessary for what’s been a peaceful yearly event, but said pro-gun activists have “unleashed something larger, something they may not be able to control.”

The pushback against proposed new gun restrictions began immediately after Democrats won majorities in both the state Senate and House of Delegates in November. Much of the opposition has focused on a proposed assault weapons ban, which would affect thousands of owners of the popular AR-15-style rifles. One version of the bill, which Democrats later disavowed, would have required current owners of the rifles to turn them in or face felony charges.

That bill was the spark that created the massive pushback, according to Sen. Creigh Deeds, one of the few moderate Democrats left in Virginia who represents rural areas.

“That allowed people who like to inflame passions to say, ‘Look, they’re really coming after your guns, they’re coming after you,’” Deeds said.

Thousands of gun owners from around the state packed municipal meetings to urge local officials to declare their communities “Second Amendment Sanctuaries” opposed to “unconstitutional” gun restrictions like universal background checks. More than 125 cities, towns and counties have approved sanctuary resolutions in Virginia.

Gun-control advocates, meanwhile, have also been flocking to Richmond to show their support for the proposed legislation. More than 200 volunteers with Moms Demand Action held a rally on Jan. 6. Gun control became a leading issue in the 2019 Virginia legislative elections after a city employee in Virginia Beach opened fire on his co-workers in May, killing 12 and injuring four others.

Janet Woody, a retired librarian from Richmond and a Moms volunteer, said she believes the proposed package of legislation can help reduce gun violence.

“I just feel so angry and helpless because of all these massacres,” she said. “You can call your legislator or write, but there comes a point where you just have to get out in the street.”

  1. So much material in this post and the linked AP article.

Gov. Ralph Northam declared a temporary state of emergency Wednesday that bans all weapons, including guns, from Capitol Square, during the rally to prevent “armed militia groups storming our Capitol.”

This is laughable. A governor’s declaration will most certainly NOT prevent armed militia groups from storming the Capitol if they are intent on storming the Capitol.

    Next on the chopping block:

Police plan to limit access to Capitol Square to only one entrance and have warned rally-goers that they may have to wait hours to get past security screening.

Thus, Virginia government is equally comfortable preventing the populace from exercising their First Amendment right to petition government for a redress of grievances.

And then we have this gem:

Northam … said pro-gun activists have “unleashed something larger, something they may not be able to control.”

No Governor Northam: Virginia government Democrats have unleashed something larger that they are not able to control. That is why Virginia Democrats are unhinged: because they want CONTROL of people and this event shows that their fantasy of unlimited control over everyone — a concept that is diametrically opposed to liberty — is a farce. They can’t have that.

    • A politician with a law never stops a bad guy with a gun.
He only controls the good guys, which is his true agenda.

The bad guy with a gun…..or the mentally deficient guy with a gun……or the terribly distraught family member of a gun shooting victim…….or the Feelz-Gooder Social Do-Gooder…..or the Neo-Nazi skinhead, true right extremist…..are the politician’s Useful Idiot Tools to achieve his agenda of power and control over the good guys.

    • Uncommon, I agree with what you said, but one other thing jumped out at me. A lawmaker is going to a safehouse. Really? So he’s good with taking your God given rights but not facing the consequences. Sounds about right.

    • Uncommon, Conman already knows all that, just as he knows that there is not going to be a violent attack Monday, which he will then attribute to his critical ruling, issued just in time, saving countless lives. He is a slug.

    • “only one entrance” hmmmm fatal funnel/cattle chute/choke point anyone?
almost like at Charlottesville when the cops funneled all protestors towards each other
      funnel, rinse, repeat ….

      • Well, the cops funneled the Untie the Right guys into the middle of Antifa and BLM, then the cops declared it an unlawful assembly and ordered them disperse. Then the cops would not let them return the way they came, forcing the Unite the Right guys to disperse through Antifa and BLM. Then cops withdrew to watch the shenanigans from a safe distance.

  2. Northam: ” I have credible information that the boogieman in your closet is coming to getcha, and only I can save you. But I’ll have to take away your freedom and guns to do that. Hope you don’t mind.”

    • But it doesn’t really matter if you mind, since I know what is good for you better than you do, so STFU or I’ll have my goons shoot you for your own good. And raise your taxes to pay for more goons!

      • What!? You are not going to applaud and thank the men and women in uniform for their service? What kind of Texan are you? A Democrat?

        • American soldiers “just following orders”. When told to confiscate the property of law abiding american citizens.

“Hurricane Katrina Door to Door Firearms Confiscation” video 2 minutes long.

        • Virginia Police just following orders
Man was at the NRA day in Richmond
Police driv an 100 miles on a ‘tip’

        • If this was a systematic thing, I’d imagine there would be more than one video. Genocide was a systemic thing in WW2 and we have tons of video. That was 70 years before smart phones.

After this video came out, even California (quietly) passed a law that forbade the confiscation of firearms in disaster zones. I can’t speak for your states, but if they haven’t addressed this, then maybe you should consider moving to the pro 2nd ammendment state of California /sarc/.

  3. At Charlottesville in 2017, the local ACLU executive director claimed that the police purposefully funneled together the protester and counter-protesters, and then used the violence that would obviously ensue as an excuse to shut down the protest. The media then twisted the story and have beaten us over the head with their lies for two years. Not a good situation.

I have to assume that this group is similarly being set up to take the fall. I’m sorry to say that they’re probably walking into an ambush, and the left is hoping that some of them will try to shoot their way out of it.

I don’t have a good answer, but I think our side should either show up disarmed and plan for nonviolent protest, even if it means being beaten as a result, or be ready for war, including if necessary to seize the capital by force and depose the state government. May they choose wisely, and may God watch out for them.

    • The media will call us all of the worst names and the government will come for us no matter what we do. There is a freedom of sorts in this.

      • Any gunfire will be blamed on our side, just like Trump is responsible for for Iran shooting down that jet, because he created the dangerous situation. Either go on unarmed and literally resigned to take yoir beating, and hope that public opinion turns to your side, or take a gun and be ready to use it.

        • The Virginia governor will be just as “responsible” for what happens as Trump was for the consequences of his illegal assassination. If people get hurt or killed because they were unarmed, some of the blame should be put on the government for creating the situation.

Trump’s illegal act got 176 civilians killed and 11 American soldiers injured. Of course Republicans do not care just like Democrats will not care what happens to people in Virginia during lobby day.

        • Oh please! Iran has been at war with the US for 40 years, from our embassy in 1978, to Beirut in 1983, etc. The Iranian general was in Iraq, not Iran, and he wasn’t on vacation. Congress gave the President blanket authority in the “authorization of military force in Iraq”, unwisely in my opinion but there it is.

Did you object when Obama’s purposefully and knowingly kill an American citizen, Anwar al-Awlaki, in Yemen in 2011, without an judicial or congressional oversight? That act is much more troubling, from a civil liberties standpoint, than anything Trump has done.

        • Chief Censor
Are you lamenting Osama bin Laden’s “illegal” murder? Oh, crap that was 2011 and Obummer was in office so that was ok. Even if it involved invading (“temporarily”) Pakistan with a US military force and in spite of no formal declaration of war against Pakistan.

        • Did you know Iran is the way it is now because the U.S. overthrew their government and installed their man? Were you aware that Osama was a CIA operative and died before Obama said he killed him?

Did you know for Trump to kill people he has to label them terrorists first and have evidence they are about to commit an attack on Americans before he can kill them? Which is why the government labeled a military a terror organization and a military general a terrorist. That general was invited into Iraq for some negotiations with the Iraqis, but it was a trick to get him to leave Iran so Trump could bomb him. Keep in mind Trump hasn’t shown any evidence to allow him to “legally” commit an act of war.

Just because someone points out the unconstitutional acts of the government doesn’t mean they are a Barry supporter. Obama murdering the son of a wanted man was something honest people complained about but Republicans defended.

Your blind support for a billionaire New York Democrat makes you completely ignore the part where I said the Virginian government will be partly to blame for any injuries or death due to the situation they created. Notice how that isn’t a defense of Democrats?

Get over it. Trump doesn’t like your second amendment and any other restriction written in the constitution (he likely never read once). Keep defending the swamp master that fills the government with swamp monsters.

        • “Did you know Iran is the way it is now because the U.S. overthrew their government and installed their man?”

“their government” = a Soviet stooge. Good overthrow, and it is too bad the Shah is still not on the throne, he was a relatively benign monarch.
And how do you get from the 1953 overthrow of the Soviet stooge all the way to Shia theocrats ousting the Shah of Iran? They are two completely different events.

“Did you know for Trump to kill people he has to label them terrorists first and have evidence they are about to commit an attack on Americans before he can kill them? Which is why the government labeled a military a terror organization and a military general a terrorist. That general was invited into Iraq for some negotiations with the Iraqis, but it was a trick to get him to leave Iran so Trump could bomb him. Keep in mind Trump hasn’t shown any evidence to allow him to “legally” commit an act of war.”
Did you know full of it?

      • If you are going to attend ANY PUBLIC event and open carry. In 2020. You need to wear a body camera. And cheap ones are out there. This way your hands will be free and clear to do with whatever you please. This way you control the editing. Not the press.

“The Press is the enemy of the People”.
        President Donald Trump.

        • Youtube’s new ToS says you can’t live stream with guns. Don’t expect to see any streams on Youtube from the event because the AI will automatically shut down the stream.

I think Facebook also has the AI enabled on their platforms.

People are going to have to stream from another website. If the government isn’t going to use cell jammers, they will definitely have cell interceptors running.

        • to Chief Censor
If the freedom fighters in Hong Kong can get past the communists and the goggle, facebook, youtube socialist, then so can we. Freedom always finds a way. The internet companies are working with the chinese communist to cut off communications with outside world.

          btw
Game systems are a great way to communicate with people all over the world. And they aren’t part of the internet. Perhaps a “mistake” made by the socialist game designers and makers???
It’s one way they got out the Hong Kong videos.

        • Not that kind of trap. The situation will be engineered, either by the authorities or false flags into a public perception disaster for 2nd Amendment supporters on par with Charlottesville.

        • CloudBuster,
Exactly. It’s an ambush where your enemy is hoping that you’ll shoot your way out of it.

    • Please reference the episode (if STNG) or movie where this line was uttered. I’ve seen them all since Picard’s first appearance way back in the late ’80s, and I don’t recall him ever speaking about the U.S.C., and an online search doesn’t give me any results. He always elevated his character’s home country of France above America, even stating one time that the proper order of flag colors is “blue, white, and red, not the other way around.”

  4. “…an NRA member who had one handgun strapped to his shoulder and another tucked into his waistband.”

Interesting how that’s worded. I’m curious to know how one straps a handgun to the shoulder (elastic band such as what joggers use for their phones?), or how that location would be effective for the user to draw from. Or perhaps was it a holster mounted high up on a MOLLE chest rig? And does the journalist perhaps mean an IWB holster, or did the gun owner simply have his second gun tucked into his waistband a la gangsta style?

Journalists take instructional courses to learn how to wordcraft their reports to achieve the desired effect. Maybe it would help if they took a single gun course as well to know what in the world they’re talking about.

And TTAG…still getting the annoying captchas, even though I’ve posted several times today from the same computer and IP address. Don’t know why the site does this.

  5. To my fellow racists, white supremacists, neo nazis, klansman, terrorist, militia racist redneck hillbillies. It doesn’t matter that we are none of those things. The media is our enemy for we are theirs. Ignore them for they have only the power that we allow them to have. No one has ever won a war by caring for the opinions of their enemies.
The enemy we fight kills babies and traffics children by the millions. We fight for all that is good and true and beautiful in this world. This is why they hate us. Stand proud knowing that you are the posterity the founders fought to secure the blessings of liberty for.
To those men, braver than I, who will stand as brothers on Monday: God bless you and godspeed.

    • The media are no longer impartial observers and reporters. They have taken sides and are partisan participants in events.

  6. Yeah, the usual suspects! They still dont understand that they’re only fooling a small percentage of the country, and I’ll bet anyone $100.00 I dont have , that paid or unpaid antifa and other commie scumbags with be there possibly dressed as 2nd A supporters. Gotta remember, dems wrote the book on dirty tricks

  7. This is their standard playbook. The left is so deranged they attack anyone who disagrees with them as racists or NAZI’s. Most of the time our side goes on the defensive and tries to disprove the left’s assertions – as if that will change anyone’s mind.

Homey don’t play dat no mo…I just don’t care what they say because I’m fed up with being pushed around by a bunch of left wing bully thugs who want to force me to live my life the way they tell me to, and who themselves employ totalitarian tactics.

Idiots like Northam act like there are no restraints on what laws they can pass. They forget that people have to see laws as fair and necessary or they won’t comply with them. These “gun safety” laws are arbitrary, capricious, and ineffective. Their intend is only to punish the normal people the leftists despise and it’s long past time to shove back…HARD.

  8. Virginia is going to be ground zero for either upholding the Constitution For The United States of America, or for the start of the second US Civil War.

  9. Dems: Walls are racist and don’t work to protect the border., we need open borders because MS-13 are really nice people. Also Dems: We need walls to protect the legislators against violent white protesters posing as law abiding citizens.

  10. I’m not sure why anyone would expect anything else from major media. It’s why Trump uses Twitter the way he does.

All I can really say is….people see though the BS.

  11. “Media Portraying Annual VCDL Lobby Day as Violent, Racist Gun Owners Ready to Fight”

Golly, nobody saw that one coming….

  12. “Mr. Blackface” wants to declare martial law just before the march so he had to manufacture an “emergency” a la Hugo Chavez and his ilk. I think he forgot he is merely a governor but not in the Roman sense.

  13. Racists? Against whom? Against a Government Power that restricts or eliminates a Constitutional Right. What true American would not become angry and violent(pissed off and mad about it). Freedom of Speach is under attack

  14. You cannot blame the News Media or the Government from wanting to stop another Nazi type rally and killing that took place in Charlottesville. With the arrest of Right Wing Paramilitary Lunatics that confessed now to the Government that they were on there way to commit mass murder against Anti-Fa the News Media was correct in warning everyone that was going to attend the rally.

It was announced this morning some of the counter protest people have pulled out of attending the rally because of all the Paramilitary Lunatics headed for the rally to commit mass murder.

If anything all this only gave Northam even more excuses to pass his anti-gun bills and they have now passed the Senate. All the threats simply backfired on the nut cases in the Far Right that were threatening violence. And of course the rally has not been held yet so violence could still indeed happen.

    • Why would they be worried about mass murder? They all believe that passing a law makes some kind of difference, and mass murder has been illegal, like, forever, mkay? So clearly it is not even possible by now, go protest and enjoy!!

    • So the Nazi’s were going to take out rANTIFA? One group of intolerant asses attacking another? And then Governor Blackface declared a ban on guns, spoiling his fellow racists’ plans?

Oh, boy, Vlad the impaled’s butt must really hurt today!

    • If you actually met a real Nazi, you would wet and soil yourself. Modern skinheads are just a bunch of pretend wannabes who wouldn’t even qualify for the Dirlwanger Brigade, who were the SS’s worst of the worst.

  15. “Leave the confederate flags at home”
“As much as I’m in support of free expression…”

Of course, we are not allowed to say what we really think and want, under pain of imprisonment or worse.

I don’t remember George Washington being fearful of saying what he wanted. But of course, to the libtard TDS inflicted “humans”, and their “conservative” rino minions, our founding fathers were nothing except rich racists and white supremacists.

Everyone inciting for peace will soon change their minds, as soon as the REAL agenda becomes visible when citizens start dying and being imprisoned…

    Russian Novelist Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn:
“A decline in courage may be the most striking feature that an outside observer notices in the West today. The Western world has lost its civic courage . . .”

“What would things been like [in Russia] if during periods of mass arrests people had not simply sat there, paling with terror at every bang on the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but understood they had nothing to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people?”

  16. It wouldn’t surprise me that somewhere in the crowd of protesters there’s paid plant who will ignite the fuse by discharging a firearm and satisfying the likes of all those behind this proposed gun grab like Bloomberg and George Soros the real enemies of the state long live the Republic!

    • There’s a bunch of “patriots” claiming they will go to Virginia and surround the capital with guns, but they will not enter the gun free zone. They say this is how they’re going to stand up to tyranny as liberty fighters: following orders and backing down.

Everyone else is going to show up at the capital to petition for a redress without the weapons. They will actually be doing something while being surrounded by “law enforcement” willing to kill them. They’re going to fearlessly stand up to their government. Once they voice themselves via the 1st Amendment, they then can move on to the 2nd Amendment.

Pay attention to how many “law enforcement” follow unlawful orders to oppress the rights of the people for a paycheck. You won’t see a single one stand down.

    • Frankie the keener weiner

“””””””””””””””””””””””It wouldn’t surprise me that somewhere in the crowd of protesters there’s paid plant who will ignite the fuse by discharging a firearm and satisfying the likes of all those behind this proposed gun grab like Bloomberg and George Soros the real enemies of the state long live the Republic!”””””””””””””””””””

Only a brainwashed racist and ignoramus would denigrate George Soros he has given away billions to build and fund schools and universities. Yes he is hated by the Far Right Lunatics because he doe promote education for the minorities and the poor students. The Far Right knows that their biggest enemy is a well educated populous.

Soros is a well-known supporter of progressive and liberal political causes, to which he dispenses donations through his foundation, the Open Society Foundations.[15] Between 1979 and 2011, he donated more than $11 billion to various philanthropic causes;[16][17] by 2017, his donations “on civil initiatives to reduce poverty and increase transparency, and on scholarships and universities around the world” totaled $12 billion.[18] He influenced the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe in the late 1980s and early 1990s,[19] and provided one of Europe’s largest higher education endowments to the Central European University in his Hungarian hometown.[20] His extensive funding of political causes has made him a “bugaboo of European nationalists”.[21] Numerous American conservatives have promoted false claims that characterize Soros as a singularly dangerous “puppet master” behind a variety of alleged global plots, with The New York Times reporting that by 2018 these claims had “moved from the fringes to the mainstream” of Republican politics.[27] Conspiracy theories targeting Soros, who is of Jewish descent, have often been described as antisemitic.[28][29][30]

      • A well educated population would not vote for any of the current Democratic candidates. Nor would they be swayed by the offers of “free stuff”.

      • Soros is a terrorist. He funds far left district attorney that stop enforcing the laws, look at Chicago and what’s happened since kimm fox was elected.

      • Yadda , Yadda and how may stingy greed monger racist Republicans ever gave even 1/100th that much money to fund education for the poor and disadvantaged. Answer zero the bastards are racist and greed mongers.

        • Soros spends money to indoctrinate an entire generation. They don’t even learn civics, social studies, US history or cursive anymore.

They are ignorant of history, thanks to Soros.

How much money someone gives is never an indication of their benevolence or saintliness. Soros is buying ignorance, because it suits him.

You, vlad the impaled are a prime example. Ignorant, socially retarded, fully compliant.

        • Better check your data…. people affiliated with the Right give more charitable contributions than people affiliated with the Left.

Of course these people are giving their own money voluntarily and not giving other people’s money thru taxes.

      • If Soros wants to play politics, then why doesn’t he run for election? Or is he afraid he might lose?

Or does he prefer to be the puppet-master pulling the strings?

    • Latest rumor is ANTIFA is planning on wearing MAGA hats, carrying American flags and pro-Second Amendment posters and then start attacking gun control supporters. Hope not but they are fascists after all.

  17. Only an ignorant fool or a committed socialist could possibly see the Oathkeepers as “extreme right wing.” The thing that identifies all the Oathkeepers, the single thing they have in common, is their commitment to honor their oath to honor and defend our nation’s Constitution. If you think abiding by our country’s defining document is “right wing” then you are a left-wing anti-American, or simply woefully ignorant.

    • to the old fart that went senile

”””””””””””””””””””””Only an ignorant fool or a committed socialist could possibly see the Oathkeepers as “extreme right wing.”””””””””””””””””””””’

Your really live in a separate universe. The oath keepers are a danger to all Americans as they push their own brand of the Constitution which is to ignore the parts they do not agree with like freedom of speech, freedom of religion and the right of all the people of the U.S. to have equal rights not just the privileged White elite. That includes gays , transgenders, religious minorities, racial minorities, immigrants and refugees.

      • Please name all the crimes that the oath keepers organization have been charged with or indited for. Oh wait thats only in your deluded little brain.

  18. First things first; If you vote Democrat, this is what you get. I know lots of my brothers who are Union men all vote Dem because their Union bosses tell them what to do and they comply. You may want to reconsider that position from now on. A few things; the media all know already there are statistically zero “gun nuts” responsible for any shootings let alone mass shootings. They shy away from reporting that fact because it does not support their narrative as has already been described above. Left wing (mostly) with a few “Republicans”, who have yet to be primaried and voted out of office, have a larger agenda which is controlling the populace. The Second Amendment is really the only thing standing in their way of dis-arming the population. If they can whittle away at it enough to make it neutered, then they can do what they really want which is to what every other totalitarian government before has done. Enslave their citizens. Maybe not in chains but metaphorically at least.

Regarding those LEO’s who are charged with collecting/confiscating the firearms of the citizenry; they live among us and they are our friends, family and neighbors. Will they obey unlawful orders issued by the Governor or others? Until Trump and or Supreme court issues an order clarifying this position of the Federal government, the waters will remain muddied. I have never been one for the over-reaching by the Feds and have always been a states rights kind of guy. If you don’t like the state where you live, move. You are free to do that. However, this 2nd Amendment issue is so polarizing and confusing from state to state there may be a place for a Federal position. I for one would like to see a national right to carry law. There could likely be some restrictions by locale but they should be very limited and have sunset provisions that require re-authorization after a period of time.

    • If someone told me how to vote, I would tell them to stick it up their behind! I will vote MY way for MY reasons. And how would they know? Isn’t voting done by secret ballot or does the union put observers into the booths to make sure people vote the correct way?

    • What union wld want to vote Democrat other then maybe a teacher’s union? In the trade unions its whoever keeps us working.

  19. Think media actually believes the rubbish it peddles about citizens who take their rights under The Second Amendment and state constitutions too seriously?

  20. The 1st amendment was not written for porn movies or burning the American flag. Despite the screams from the Libertarians liberals and the Leftists. It was written for things like Lobby Day.
But you can still burn an American flag if you choose to. But you can’t burn a homsexual flag can you????
Because it’s against the law. Even if the law is not on the books. The three L’s are hypocrite pigs.

    btw
The ACLU went to court to protect three white mens civil right to burn a cross on the front lawn of a black persons home in Virginia a few years ago. There is no proof the three L’s support private property rights.

  21. First, I am a VCDL member. Second, I’m a Liberal born and raised in San Francisco. Third, I’m the son of a Black and Cherokee man and a blonde Scandinavian woman. I dare the antis to call me a Confederacy-worshiping White supremacist. 🙂

Come on, Democrats…call *me* that. Call the “Black” guy a racist. Come on. 🙂

What Gov. Northam and the Democrats have done here is shameful. It is a direct attack on the 2A and a big, fat payback to Bloom-boy for his campaign money. Sadly, my State Delegate and Senator are both Democrats who believe in gun control. We are about to lose the advances we worked for when we eliminated the silly “one handgun a month” rule.

Worse yet, they seriously want “universal background checks”. Folks, there is only one way to actually enforce that, and it’s how California does it–REGISTRATION. And what does gun registration lead to? Yes, that’s right–CONFISCATION! The authoritahs in California have been confiscating firearms from innocent people in that State for years. That’s one reason why I cannot go back there.

We are facing a major threat to the backbone of the Bill of Rights here, folks, because of Bloom-boy’s Democrats. I assure you, *this* Liberal does not agree, and there are a lot of us out here that just don’t get press. But we’re here, I assure you.

We will eventually reverse this attack on our Second Amendment. But it takes getting your butt to the ballot box and VOTING. Seems not many pro-freedom folks did that in November 2019, and this is the result. We cannot make this mistake again.

    • Hello
Because you wouldn’t do it. I decided to do it and post the Link.

      “The Liberal’s Gun Corner”
“Where the Second Amendment and Liberalism do a Group Hug! :-)”
      http://www.liberalsguncorner.com/

I will spend my valuable time reading honest gun information from anyone. And I’ve listened to your podcasts going back several years now.
      (smile)

We will see if EVERYONE is really willing to work together. I think Virginia is the test case.

  22. The fake news media are so far up the Socialist / Communist Democrats rectum that it will take them a week to crawl out. If Ralph would stop suddenly the fake news media would get a dirty nose and vis versa. Does Freedom of the press actually mean what fake news medias are slobbering out and call news.?

  23. Here’s the plan, folks: Bolt cutters.

Using a crowd of people for cover, just walk up to that chain-link fence and cut a big hole in it. It will take a bit of organization, but a dozen or so cutting teams dispersed around the perimeter can have that fence disabled in a matter of 15 minutes.

If the outside is guarded, than cut a small hole and slip to cutters to someone on the inside who has already passed thru the metal detectors. Do it the same way– use a crowd for cover.

Better yet, get people cutting from both sides. That square is way to big to be effectively covered on both sides. All we need is two or three gaping holes, and everyone just walks on in.

Hey, 50 years ago it worked at Woodstock. I know. I was there. Being a boomer ain’t all bad.

    • in any event such as this numbers count more than anything…crowd size will be the determiner on whether or not it was successful…..

  24. Interesting how the state threatens to kidnap and kill people every day for victimless “crimes” like gun laws, but as soon as the people decode to stand up for themselves and insist on their rights and dignity, the media treat them like unhinged lunatics, as if THEY were the violent ones.

  25. Quit feeding Vlad food guys. He offers nothing constructive at all. Don’t respond to his posts and whatever it is will go away..
He is the type that will be in Virginia doing things that hurt the second amendments causes. He most likely is a left wing plant.

  26. I’m actually seeing more and more attention on this in the media on the radio and tv now. Finally! All it took was the NRA getting involved (to some small degree) and a Trump tweet.

It is interesting that it is being refered to as a “gun rights rally”. Major media news talking heads are such twits.

It has been suggested that people bring cameras to this. Large numbers of people with cameras (especially live feed connections) is going to be the single best way to get the truth out. The more people in general that show up, the better. It wont be an option for me but this has my attention as this could very easily happen where I am.

None of this would ever be anything at all if the left wouldn’t be so head strong and hell bent against the American Constitution.
