  1. I think I would have asked to see a badge and get a badge number on camera. Congrats New York. You elected him, now you’ve got him.

      • I would have given no information and just repeated everything he said to me, like a brain dead Parrot.
That seven round rule is so insane that they can have a full mag but not the citizens THEY work for.

        • They don’t work for you. That’s so 1792. Or 1892. Or 1947, maybe. The Mayor told a foreign dignitary recently, “I have my own army, the NYPD.” If you have to walk to the subway through a gang’s turf, that’s your problem. If they shoot you, call the cops, OK? (The intense desire to ban “Personal Defense Weapons” really does seem to reflect rich-person paranoia and narcissism, as if the dangers of violence are primarily theirs? It makes me laugh. At first.

        • Sad but true, Ropingdown. I dont want to have the tools of the military (well, maybe I do, but I can live without), but I damn well demand to have the same semiauto rifle (AR) and pistol (Glock 22) as the police have for defense. It is Batcrap crazy that in NY they can conceivably come to your door and demand your (ha ha 10 round)magazines or tell you that you have to have a pocket of air in your handle where 8 more bullets used to reside than the 7 your allowed while they can carry the full 15.

      • Actually, there should be a vote for “no mayor” or “no president”. Might eliminate a need for a third party. Defiantly eliminate the rock and a hard (lesser of 2 evils is still evil) place type of voting selections we’ve had of late. If “No” gets more than 33% of the vote, new election in say 6 months with different candidates. No reruns. Meh, never happen.

    • Actually relatively few people elected him. There are 8.2 million people in NYC, 4.1 million registered voters, only 1.1 million people participated in the 2009 mayoral election, and only 557k people voted for Bloomberg. In fact the vast majority of the people in NYC abstained, and presumably would rather not have a mayor.

    • An elected politician refusing to answer a simple question then having his private security harass the citizen that asked the question is the foundation of tyranny. Those that label us as “paranoid” do so in blissful ignorance.

  2. Wow, is all I can say. I am outraged, but at the same time extremely proud of Jason. It’s nice to see someone stick up to these elitist assholes. We should all take lesson and follow suite. Continue to pester representatives about this issue until they can’t take it anymore and give up. Then we can get silencers and automatics back 😉 But seriously, pester everyone you know. I forward these articles all the time to people regardless of their stance on 2a. If I can impact just one person…

  3. To protect and serve(?) Serve who(?), the leftist elite, that want everything for themselves, and nothing for those that are not of the same sociatal strata. Keep voting those A$$HOLES into office. The Sullivan act was brought about by the Dem-commies that were in power at the time. It was meant to keep any one they did not deem worthy from owning a firearm. Namely the republicans at that time.

    • Maybe if every member of every family that had a family member unconstitutionally stopped and frisked would vote against the arrogant prick he won’t be able to continue his using NYC as his own personal Stanford Experiment.

      • Sadly the naifs are unaware of ‘The Stanford Experiment’ and don’t care about the moral implications when they do learn about it.

What sells is the fantasy of “being safe”.

    • Because it is filled with mindless liberal morons. Sadly I live in NYS about 1.5 hours north of NYC. Whats going on in this once great state is beyond scary. To think average Americans are now breaking a law on something they owned for years?
I know there will be legal challenges to this communist anti-American anti Constitution move. But I fear it wont do much. NYS I think is a total loss, much like CA, etc.
Good for Jason asking Mayor Bloomego these questions. But the media here will just bash Jason for his efforts. They don’t care about the tax paying hard working Americans. Just their liberal friends. Really sad….

  4. That’s about the size and the shape of it. Politicians “deserve” multiple layers of security and we “deserve” whatever protection they allow us to have. If you are a responsible citizen and responsible gun owner, you might not ever get your hardware back if you give it up.

    • With name and DoB he can look up warrants on a person. Pay attention when you see cops interact with people they want to stick something to, first thing they do is ask for ID. They’re hoping there’s a warrant for that person so they can snag them without any extra work. That’s why he got his pen out.

    • NY is a ‘stop and identify’ state, which means that for no reason at other than “suspicion” that you may/have/or are committing any mis or felony, NY copper can ped stop you and ID you. They are an outgrowth of the Terry Stop, which was a case from the late 60s.

Conveniently, Bloomies’ security detail is all coppers.

  5. I can’t believe that the cop followed him. How freaking ridiculous was that? Those police officers should be ashamed of themselves, catering to the rich hypocrite.

  6. What drives me crazy is that no ‘mainstream’ media outlet will offer up even a peep about this revealing slice of Bloomberg’s hypocrisy and abusive use of armed goons to keep way from journalists that might actually challenge the ‘accepted narrative’.

  7. Jason cooperated more than I would have. He was under no obligation to produce any ID or even talk to the officer. He should have asked him if he was being detained or is it a consentual contact.
    No PC for a detention.
Does anyone know if DC allows out of state cops to carry or authority to use police powers?

    • My question exactly. These were NYPD inD.C. They aere body guards and haveno jurisdiction, only the authortity to protect. He was out of line asking questions. Further, D.C. as we all know does not have a concealed carry law and no reciprocity. So then, is it legal for an out of jurisdiction leo to carry a fiearm, much less a concealed firearm, in D.C.? then the lawst question. D.C. is a gun free zone, just like NYC. So why should Bloomie need FIVE cops for his security detail???

    • There’s a newish law, I think Obama signed it, the LEOSA, that allowed badged officers to carry everywhere in the US. It’s made the police badge the universal carry permit.

  8. The sad part is that 50 years ago reporters would have considered
Mattera’s actions as normal, pushy at best. Today, reporters
and journalists like Mattera are a rarity.
No wonder nobody trusts the main stream media.

  9. Shows how hypocritical a fascist like Bloomberg is. We cant have a security detail but he can and if we ask him about it you get beat up!

  10. the mayor of NYC is a quasi-celebrity, he get’s treated like a governor, if not better. Combine that with all the royalty and celebs that his majesty hob-nobs with, and it’s easy to see how this goes to his head.

  11. WE ARE ALL EQUAL OR WE ARE NOT.
I FIND THIS TRUTH TO BE SELF EVIDENT.
I AM ENDOWED BY MY CREATOR WITH UNALIENABLE RIGHTS.
I SHALL NOT ALLOW THESE RIGHT TO BE STRIPPED FROM ME BY ANY MAN.
TO DO LESS OFFENDS MY CREATOR.
ANY ONE THE OFFENDS THESE RIGHTS OFFENDS MY CREATOR.
LET GOD HAVE MERCY ON HIS SOUL.
    AMEN.

Little over the top but hey, ‘Merica.

  12. Maybe the cop wanted to make sure it wasn’t a high capacity high fructose corn syrup storage device? Ever think of that!? Or maybe he was jelous that he wasn’t offered a sip?

  13. If this video truly represents what happened it turns my stomach. What the hell is the NYPD doing detaining and questioning a person in DC for asking the Mayor a few questions? Does a traveling NYPD security detail have arrest and investigation powers for activity conducted in another state? Never mind the fact that what Jason did was perfectly legal. If he wasn’t traveling with the Mayor, Stockton’s badge wouldn’t be worth the tin it’s stamped on in DC except as a pass to carry as a responsible citizen or get out of a ticket. I guess Bloomberg really does have his own Army. It’s mobile too. Disturbing.

    • Private Security Detail. I wonder if they have special legal rights to get away with more Constitutional violations than NYC cops.
