Earlier today, a grand jury indicted one Louisville Metro Police officer in connection with the shooting death of Breonna Taylor during a police raid earlier this year. The indictment handed down, though, was for reckless endangerment of people in surrounding apartments due to one officer’s gunfire. None of the three cops were indicted for Taylor’s death.

Protests in downtown Louisville have escalated of throughout the afternoon.

And tonight, someone opened fire on some of the assembled police officers, hitting one of them.

The night is still young and the mostly peaceful protesters seem determined to escalate the rioting whatever the cost.

UPDATE: NBC now reports that two police officers have been shot.

Update: This post has been corrected to remove a reference to the execution of a “wrong address” warrant. The warrant that was served did, in fact, list Breanna Taylor’s address. We regret the error.

    • From the inner suburbs, this doesn’t feel like a “riot.” More like a concrete jungle – overpopulated with stupid hunters.

    • It’s ironic how a bunch of narrow minded fools march around and show their butts over some bad cops or cops that made a mistake, etc. When compared to the 200 plus years of race based atrocities that the democRat Party did to Blacks what is going on today with the police doesn’t even register.
Even more ironic the marching fools are a voting block for their present and former democRat Party slave masters. Yesterday’s democRat slave master forced Blacks to pick cotton while today’s democRat Party slave master has gullible Black Americans harvesting votes.

The democRat Party has clearly made a mess out of a lot of Blacks. Obviously Content of Character has been replaced with pure demoCrap. Frankly…A Black American being a member of the democRat Party makes as much sense as a Jew belonging to the nazi party.

Nonetheless America is at a point to where if fools insist on continuing being fools then fools will have to be stopped one way or another.

      • Normally its best to ignore people like Little Debbie but girl you need to learn history.
Yes up until the 80’s southern Democrats were a mostly racist party. The northern ones were what the main democratic party is now. Just before the civil war they mostly split off and ran their own candidate for president, the northern Democrats had their own. . In the 40’s southern democrats did not want equality like the northern democrats so they formed the Dixiecrats and nominated Strom Thurman for president. They died out shortly after Truman was elected and their political leaders became Republicans. By the 90’s most of the southern democrats became republicans. While quite a few of the southern democrats were racist the northern were mostly liberal. The republican party now has most of the former southern democrats except the ones who identify as Blue Dogs. We find both parties somewhat repugnant. And quite a few of the southern republicans fit your description of the extinct southern democrats.

        • Robert Byrd was KKK and was Hillary Clintons mentor.

          https://www.redstate.com/bonchie/2020/07/01/worlds-worst-fact-check-claims-democrats-didnt-start-the-civil-war-or-kkk/

“In reality, the parties did not re-align to the extent that one can claim they switched places. How do I know? Because Republicans didn’t even start gaining consistent majorities in the south until the early 2000s. What actually happened? Old, racist FDR era Democrats died out and their children and grandchildren became Republicans over decades of change. There is no evidence there was a sudden switch between the parties in the mid-20th century. If that were true, we’d have never gotten Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton.”

“Republicans voted more heavily for the Civil Rights Act than Democrats did. Republicans had also pushed far longer for its passage than Democrats did. “

        • Byrd later said joining the Klan was his “greatest mistake,”[and after his death, the NAACP released a statement praising Byrd, acknowledging his former affiliation with the Klan and saying that he “became a champion for civil rights and liberties” and “came to consistently support the NAACP civil rights agenda”.

If it is the grandchildren who are now joining the Republican party they must all have Progeria as the vast majority at Trump rallies and out campaigning seem older.

I voted for Trump last time as the democratic choice was a known bad choice.
This time no way, I’ll vote for Biden with the hope enough republicans in the house replace democrats so there is just 1 or 2 more democrats than republicans and vice versa in the senate. That way neither party will be able to railroad stuff through without cooperation and Biden will be mostly neutered.

        • Your self indulged substitute for “knowledge” I am sure comforts you, as most find comfort in ignorance.

You will never discover that “People” magazine is a poor source of information, and that is for the better.

      • I’d just use a shitload of .22. Get close, make em feel it… let them treat their own wounded. Good luck. Gonna be a very slow, very painful death.

    • Looks like a Less Than Lethal (bean bag?) shottie in the LEO’s hands in the photo. I’m sure those hurt, but shot placement can make a strong statement.

        • Looking at that guy attacking the cops and netting shot in the crotch, one wonders if his criminal record is full Rosenbaum caliber, or only Grosskreutz size?

I suspect that most, if not all, of the true terrorists have criminal records, and the ‘mostly peaceful’ ones are just bored college students LARPing at domestic terrorism.

      • There are multiple options for LTL (Less Than Lethal) rounds in that system. “Bean bag”, foam baton, rubber buckshot, point blank OC dispersion etc.
Only he knows what in it or in what order.

  1. Florida governor pushing for a law that would drop any legal jeopardy for a driver that has been surrounded by violent rioters And has to drive out of the situation. It would also make violence during a protest/riot, and destruction of property during such an event a felony.

    • “Florida governor pushing for a law that would drop any legal jeopardy for a driver that has been surrounded by violent rioters And has to drive out of the situation.”

Saw that. Been hearing it may not pass constitutional muster…

      • It’s unconstitutional to pass a law modifying the law criminalizing vehicular assault?

Sort of like Hawaii judge declaring it unconstitutional for a president to modify a prior president’s executive orders by executive order?

    • Gadsen, head to YouTube and search for “Louisville” live, it doesn’t look like it’s fizzling.

Search this exact term on YouTube, you’ll find it : RWqQXIbyWog

      • Geoff, I am watching live. A microcosm of one lens doesn’t give a full overview. They also tend to focus on the sensational. No matter, it’s still ugly. BTW, how’s things down there in Polk County? From what I see you have a hell of a sheriff.

        • We had one (1) BLM ‘protest’ a few months back in a main intersection where a uniformed Antifa showed up stirring shit up like jumping on blocked cars in traffic.

The city PD shut that down. Once Grady Judd got on the TV the next day and made this announcement, things quieted down.

For some reason TTAG is dumping my comments with a URL in them. The ‘gist’ of his TV message was “People in Polk County like guns, and have guns. If burning or looting happens in your home, blow them back out of your house with your guns.”

Their protest enthusiasm cooled greatly after that… 🙂

  2. Bullies/Children/Rioters, same juvenile mentality. They want what they want and they deserve it and BY GOD YOU’RE GONNA GIVE IT TO THEM OR ELSE!!! To hell with them. Crack skulls and make arrests for anyone who is violent. Tolerating this shit is why it keeps happening. Enough. I hope no one else gets hurt from the Law and Order side.

    • Yep. If anyone’s noticed, in most of the south, there was a little rioting when this started, but it didn’t last long.

Want to know why? Because the police weren’t ordered to back down and cede territory to an uprising. The rioters felt the pain of conflict and their buddies going to jail. This lead to them losing steam.

      • I’ll add, I personally know of one southern departments outright policy on riots is “We always gain ground, and never give ground.” That mentality is very important in crushing this garbage. When faced real aggressive opposition these cowardly leftist terrorists fold like wet cheese.

      • Absolutely Ron. I live in NC, and my local city had a little block or so radius that was a designated “Protest Zone.” No weapons, no bullshit tolerated. One time, one person actually fired a shot in the air trying to show how tough they were, and the police broke the sound barrier throwing his dumb ass in jail (and to be fair, he was not on the BLM (or equivalent) side). This was over our statue in the town square, an angel with a Confederate soldier, basically honoring the fallen in the Civil War. The protest side actually won this particular argument (peacefully, and with a local hearing before the city leaders, AS IT SHOULD BE DONE), and we moved the statue to the local Confederate cemetery. The mayor is a total POS, one of those “our local government would never work with ICE,” type people (and a fat black woman, coincidentally), prompting the local Sheriff and Police Chief to issue a statement that basically said “We were not consulted about nor do we condone anything in the Mayor’s statement. She’s talking entirely for herself.”

Haha! Wet cheese, LMAO. How apropos a metaphor.

        • “an angel with a Confederate soldier”

Yes, all those who support slavery will indeed go to heaven to greet Jesus in the air.

          Another reason I am not a Christian…

        • “And the founder of Christianity made no secret indeed of his estimation of the Jewish people. When He found it necessary, He drove those enemies of the human race out of the Temple of God.“ Mein Kampf (p. 174)

  3. Fried bacon on my plate, nobody will miss him. Burn it all, boys. The only way to respond to police brutality is with equal force, my only regret is that I can’t be there. 1312!

  4. Would like to see Ma Duce deployed during these peaceful protests. While an old gal, she still demands respect.

Getting so tired of this crap…….

    • The very THOUGHT of using .50BMG against crowds of mostly-peaceful protesters is simply AWFUL, and you should be ashamed.

.303 British, .30-’06, or 7.62x54R are much better for crowd control–higher rate of fire in most cases, quieter, and less messy, not to mention the cost savings.

A couple of properly-sited Vickers MkIs in enfilade, for example, can work wonders in modifying crowd behavior. One or two belts, enough to brew up a cuppa, should suffice for the average inner-city social gathering, don’t you think?

      Alas. . .

      • Yes yes, but the wonderful thing about the larger bore is the mess. Holes in bodies are shocking to the uninitiated. Many, many start freaking out at limbs sheared straight off & large sections of torso evaporating into a mist. Wonderful deterrent that is against the unprepared.

To whit, taking a cue from Lil’-un and his executions with AA guns. I’d submit that 20 – 40mm, whilst definitively less budget friendly from the initial glance, will end up being much less an expense than one would think. Plus, over penetration in a dense line in depth is a bonus, not a detraction. More for your money. :p

Mainly for the Bunny Factor. “Holy Shit! You see that fucking head come apart, man?”

  5. I believe it’s only fair that the rioters be allowed to investigate themselves and determine whether they did anything wrong in shooting these officers. We all know that the officers were going to get off scot free the moment a state of emergency was preemptively declared, so why pretend?

    • My question as well. My understanding is that she was suspected of transporting parcels from the post office to her apartment. The quality of that assumption has been questioned, but she known to the investigation. Wrong-house raid does not fit how we use the term.

      • I’ve seen it alleged that she was his ‘banker’.
And that when one of his curbside pharmaceutical vendors was arrested, he told somebody to go see Breonna, tell her he said to give you $7k for bail.

I have not seen it alleged that they found thousands of dollars of drug money in her home after they killed her. I bet those Narcs are wishing they hadn’t pocketed all the drug money they found in her house. (yeah, my opinion of drug cops is best expressed by Tom Selleck in the movie An Innocent Man)
        https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097579/

        • That happens a lot. I can’t begin to count the times that I’ve found dead bodies in my rental cars.

          No, wait. That’s cigarette butts.

          Never mind.

        • I found a large roach and 2 joints in a bag under the seat in a rental. Looked it over real carefully after that.
I wonder how that would have gone if they had pulled me over and ran a drug dog by the car.

  6. These POS are always asking why do Police shoot people. Tonight is a prime example of Why???. When the Police become targets as they have over the last several years. They are reacting as anyone would when they are threatened. They shoot first and ask question later. Kentucky has Stand Your Laws and they apply to the Police as well as the citizens. You shoot they shoot.
Kentucky is a Castle Doctrine state and has a “stand your ground” law. A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any other place where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat. … Any person who uses a gun in self-defense has immunity from criminal and civil law.

    • Don’t count on it….. the elections process is so corrupt in kentucky it’s pathetic….
Here in louisville it’s the worst with literal stuffed ballots and outdated registration rolls….
The state is a red state but the people in government are college educated idiots and they’ve relinquished power to the lowest common denominator in our society…
It’s sickening to have to sit and watch this country be run into the ground by sub humans who hate whitey and everything he stands for….

  7. No reports, so far, of looting or burning. I think the motive is revenge on LMPD. Oh, and the mayor! Weak ass mayor. Reporting from Louisville….

  8. “Earlier today, a grand jury indicted one Louisville Metro Police officer in connection with the shooting death of Breonna Taylor during a wrong-address police raid earlier this year….”

First sentence, already wrong. There was no wrong address. They had evidence for the correct residence. They obtained a warrant for that residence. They raided that residence.

        • The question is, was there solid evidence she was storing money or drugs for her ex boyfriend, or was it just ‘she used to date this guy, so we get to raid her and find out if she’s his employee’?

Unfortunately for the one who wrote the sworn statements the warrant was based upon, they had plenty of time to search the place after her death, and thus far have come up with nothing. It could very well have been two innocent people, one defending his home from armed home invaders, the other killed by an asshole cop who wildly sprayed bullets in a residential area (what he’s charged with, what every cop who shot at those newspaper carriers in Torrance should be charged with).

        • Google “Breonna Taylor search warrant pdf” and you’ll probably get the full document laying out the probable cause (it goes beyond some detective saying he thinks she’s hiding drugs).

  9. These dirtbags that break away from the crowd need to be met with overwhelming force and if they get killed so be it. No excuse for any fire to start, one window to be broke, etc. These destructive gutless dirtbags that stink up America are sitting ducks and slow targets and they need to be shot dead where they stand. Gas them, shoot them, bomb them whatever it takes to restore law and order.
Hopefully whoever ambushed and shot the officers will get what is coming to them. Rest assured whoever the perp is they don’t have $12,000,000.00 to pay the families of those officers.

    • That’s a great point Deb. These people got TWELVE. MILLION. FUCKING. DOLLARS. $12,000,000. And it STILL WASN’T ENOUGH. It’ll never be enough because what they want is a pure, swirling maelstrom of Chaos, because then they can take absolute power. I’m gonna bang on that particular point like a damn kettle drum for the foreseeable future if I ever hear anyone mention Breonna Taylor the fuck again.

    • True the individual creep doesn’t have it… but why can’t the organizations like BLM or Antifa be sued directly for having started the riots that led to injuries or deaths or property damage? Hell why not sue them for scaring a 4 year old kid who saw the riot on tv?

  10. Some people live with a bag over their head and think they know what happens after they die. Problem is they haven’t died yet so they talk trash. Jesus Christ is King. He’s the only one that your going to plead and beg to not to send you to Hell. Why are the leaders of BLM praying to Demons? Why do witches from all over the world go to Salem Massachusetts every Halloween? Satan has power that’s why! How do brainless and no talent celebrities get rich? They sell their soul for money and power. They pray to satan. Even Tactius a Roman (pagan) historian verified the existence of Jesus. People who deny Jesus don’t know what they are talking about. They haven’t died gone to Hell and come back to life have they? In other words you DON’T KNOW ####!

    • Tell me, do you think the real Thomas Jefferson is in heaven?

Raping an underage slave girl, beating other slaves and selling their children up the river, is Jesus OK with all that?

      Asking for a friend…

  11. When the coup d’état failed in Washington, it was only logical for the Dems to take their revolution to the streets.

The problem is that the US is engaged in asymmetric warfare with the revolutionaries. What’s needed is a reply in kind, but not against the pathetic street thugs. Their job is to kill and die for the Dem leaders. The leadership caste must be taken apart, or this war will never end.

  12. These are neither riots nor peaceful demonstrations. This is a D.N.C. sanctioned Marxist Insurrection financed by the Nazi Collaborator Geo. Soros and his coven of Marxist Globalist Atheist Billionaires. It is a carefully choreographed war on our nation and it’s citizens. It is high time for President Trump to invoke the Insurrection Act and turn the Marines loose on these Marxist Insurrectionists. What we have here is the fulfillment of Joseph McCarthy’s warning to us all those decades ago.
