“I am totally for gun control in the U.S.,” Liam Neeson said in a 2014 interview with The Independent. “The population of America is roughly 300 million and there are 300 million guns in this country, which is terrifying.” Despite swearing off action movies, in the clip (not magazine) of the movie Commuter below, the Irish actor wields a gun for fun and profit. Yes. Yes he does. (Photo enhanced for your dining and dancing pleasure).

  1. Since the 2014 interview comment, I no longer watch Liam Neesom films. Besides, he always plays the same one dimensional character.

    • Nor do I.

What Liar Neeson, and the rest of his ilk continually fail to comprehend, is that they are dancing monkeys, whose ONLY purpose is to make fools of themselves in order to entertain us.

These ridiculous dancing monkeys need to be reminded that their place in the food chain is just above slime mold.

But because they make ludicrous amounts of lucre, it has given them the false notion that they are somehow our betters. They are the ignorati. I predict very soon they shall realize the folly of their misguided beliefs, as Follyweird implodes financially.

  2. Mr. Neeson:
    Two things:

    1. Either grow up and get a clue (here’s a roll of quarters, the Clue Machine is over there) and understand that Americans like their gun-s and we are keeping them, (and you are welcome to grow a brain and start comprehending that)

    OR

2: Take your special needs arse back to Ireland and stay there.

    Your choice.

Now stop telling me and others like me what to do.

    Ta.

  3. Oooooh wait….. another hollywood elite who thinks his opinion matters…. here is my shocked face. 😑 Liam,
Too sit there and tell Americans that you support gun control after making several movies where you play an American using guns is a tad hypocritical dont you think?
Maybe its time for you to go to the lifetime movie network. Or maybe the hallmark channel.

  4. If he’s terrified by the thought of one g un for every American, perhaps he should come over to my house and see my modest collection. Perhaps he’d shit his pants and go running back to Belfast, never to return. It would almost be worth the stench and having to get the carpet cleaned if it worked.

    • Start a Go Fund Me account. I’m sure you’ll raise enough money to completely replace your carpeting! Maybe even enough to build that gun vault you’ve been promising for your wife…

  5. Sorry, Liam, it’s 500 million. It’s almost two to one. You’re spouting old news. Why don’t you go and beg for a part on the next Disney Star Wars? They killed Luke, they can kill Quigon again too.

  6. Hollywood Hypocrite who made one reasonably good movie and otherwise nothing of note, and who has repeatedly tried to get the attention of Hollywood decision makers with his anti-gun statements, and even they mostly ignore him.

  7. The reprogramming of the UK has been so effective that even people who think they are liberty minded individuals can’t see the hypocrisy in some of their beliefs. I’ve talked with enough English and Scottish natives to realize that the UK and Liberty will never find each other in my lifetime.

  8. Yes, yes. Please tell America how we should change our basic rights. Keep making your action films and shut the hell up! You know nothing about the heart land of this country.

  9. I dont care what Liam Neeson, or any Hollywood guy/girl thinks about anything.

I pay them to entertain me, not to be my confessors.

  10. “The population of America is roughly 300 million and there are 300 million guns in this country, which is terrifying.”

Yes Liam, freedom can be terrifying if you’re a sheep.

    • “To a sheep, a sheepdog still looks an awful lot like a wolf.”
And that, in a nutshell, is why they hate us. In any debate with a gun bigot, they will – sooner or later – make it clear that they hate us because they fear us. Gun bigots(sheep) make no distinction between law-abiding gun owners(sheepdogs) and criminals(wolves).

      • I am neither a sheepdog nor a wolf, just a fan of Benjamin Franklin (and oh how I wish I had more Benjamin Franklins). – ‘Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.’

      • Actually, if you can stand their bloviatins long enough, they’ll get to their real fear which is their inability to control themselves. “I’m afraid of what I might do if ‘x’ happened, or if I had a gun I might”… etc., etc. Projecting the fear of their own mental instabilities onto the rest of us.

      • “And that, in a nutshell, is why they hate us. In any debate with a gun bigot, they will – sooner or later – make it clear that they hate us because they fear us. . .”

In large measure you’re right. We saw some examples of this in the astonishment in chattering classes at the immediate response to the flooding in Houston and Beaumont caused by Harvey. They just couldn’t believe that people could, completely unbidden, hook up their boat, drive to Houston and start rescuing people. They didn’t need to be “organized” or given permission by authorities because they already knew what to do. And when members of the Houston’s underclass decided to try their hands at high-jacking rescue boats they soon discovered that the Cajun Navy and others were armed as a matter of course.

Something similar happens with guns. Guns are obviously dangerous and yet People Of The Gun are completely comfortable around them, are proficient in both their use and repair. It’s humiliating to realize that something you are entirely ignorant about, are absolutely terrified of, is such a mundane daily routine for someone else. The distances between resentment, envy and hate are very short.

  11. Liam you are as full of crap as they come.
How about every penny you have made using guns in movies. Donate to feed the hungry of this country that has allowed you to earn a living.

  12. So, why is he here? He is wealthy, he ought to move back to Northern Ireland, where he spend his first 30 or so years. Celebrate diversity, mate. You can enjoy your smothering statism in the land which ignores Orwell. We can experiment with our “dangerous freedom.” Or, will Neeson not be happy until everyone lives under his rules and preferences?

  13. “The population of America is roughly 300 million and there are 300 million guns in this country, which is terrifying.”

Terrifying? I sleep a little better knowing that. And I don’t even have a cadre of expensive bodyguards surrounding me like Mr. Neeson.

  14. Liam Neeson “swears off action movies” with the same regularity that Barbara Streisand and Cher go on their “final concert tour ever.”

  15. When Liam takes up arms on film, and creates a body count that would make a spree killer blush, it’s “Art”. Understand?

  16. The Honest Trailer for John Wick on YouTube points out how lame the action in Neesons films is – 14 edits in one scene where he climbs a fence. Keanu makes Neeson look about as menacing as my grandma.

    • That video is amazing. Check ol’ Liam out in the old(ish) flick The Bounty where he plays a slightly larger than average seaman who bullies the other guys who aren’t as larger than average. Art imitating life.

    • Ken, maybe you need to look at a few other grandmothers. 🙂 I happen to know quite a few who would be seriously “menacing” if attacked. I know because I am one of those grandmas… and I’ve trained a large number of others to shoot and defend themselves. If your grandma isn’t “menacing” enough, take her to the range! 🙂

Lots of stereotypes need to be challenged. LOL

  17. Will somebody tell me how it matters what a Euroweenie actor is “for” in the United States? I think I missed the memo.

Oh, well. One more in a growing list of Hollywooders whose movies I no longer watch because their repellent nature in reality is so much stronger than their ability to play a fictional character. Life’s better without them.

  18. Neeson is a consummate liberal Hollyweird hypocrite. All of his movies are essentially identical, and contain copious amounts of killing with….yep, you guessed it….guns. I no longer watch any of his movies, not only because he’s a hypocritical scumbag liberal, but because all of his movies are essentially identical. They change names, places and very small portions of the plot, but they all look and feel exactly the same. Either he’s out for revenge against somebody, or somebody is setting him up for something. The rest is just Neeson killing everyone in sight….usually with a gun. He’s John Wick with bad acting, and a whole lot of hypocrisy.

  19. Liam, get out of the country if you don’t like it. There are plenty of socialist gun control Utopias for you to choose from.

  20. The problem here is; Neeson is absolutely right. There are a scary amount of guns in the public hands in the USA, however, being the star of multiple action films and franchises that revolve around guns and killing, he’s not the one to be pass these kind of comments.

    • What’s so “scary” about it? I’ve never lost a moment of sleep over the number of guns here… why would you?

  21. Someone please explain to me why the hell all these hollyweird action stars willingly make millions off of using guns to create a body count that would make Elizabeth Bathory moist continually speak out against the object they’ve used so many times on film to make their millions and why they continue to make those movies if they are so against said object. It seems to me they aren’t as against them as they say they are. They still star in action flicks and their bodyguards still pack and yet they continually tell us that we don’t need guns and should never own guns. Until one of these pansies shuns their armed protection and stops starring in gun porn action movies I’ll continue to buy and carry guns.

  22. It would be interesting to see what kind of a career Liam would have if it were not for the American gun culture?

  23. Lest anyone should forget the armed populace of the US may have been a major reason why the US mainland was never attacked by the Japanese in WWII.They sent there balloons but never ground troops.

    • That wasn’t the reason why Japan did not invade mainland U.S. They lacked the logistics and manpower to invade, while still retaining their holdings in China and Southeast Asia. Yamamoto never uttered the phrase of “rifle behind every blade of grass”. The closest to invasion Japan got was the Aleutian Island campaign.

U.S. firearm ownership was partly the reason, however, that the Mexican government chose not to take up Germany’s offer to invade the U.S. in the Zimmerman telegraph.

  24. Just another white actor, surrounded by private armed security, saying you don’t need a gun. And another alien, legal, who tells Americans to give up their civil rights.
Libertarians Liberals and the Left like importing these types of tyrannts.

  25. Thinks he’s a tough guy. Can’t hold a candle to Charlie Bronson or Steve McQueen.

More money I get to save and spend on guns and ammo.

    • Or the best action movie actor, John Wayne, who could actually act.
As in have more than one emotion showing in a movie, use different tones of voice, and even (gasp!) explain his beliefs in a manner everyone could understand.

      • John Wayne – the draft dodger who used his marriage to get out of WWII and then would not give support for his wife or children. The man who drank in the evening and couldn’t even shave in the morning, forcing the studio to have a barber on site before filming.
Who got his start because of the parties thrown by Theda Bara and other Hollywood women who thought that inviting the USC football team to their orgies would be a little exciting.
All heroes are a little tarnished, but he was one who should never be called hero.

  26. Take it back to Iceland or wherever the hell your from. Quit making those ultraviolent movies, shut your mouth and mind your own business. Go to hell while you’re at it.

  27. I love people who move to a country, make untold millions and then disparage the very country that has enabled their amazing success.

Would his countrymen like it if we moved to Ireland and campaigned to close down the Guinness brewery because of the untold damage caused by alcohol misuse?

I’m guessing not so STFU and be grateful for the opportunities that you have had, or go home!

  28. “The population of America is roughly 300 million and there are 300 million guns in this country, which is terrifying.”

Yes, it is terrifying, since about 50 million of that population are lowlifes.

  29. Just wait for him to ask you to let him pee in your outstretched hands. If you don’t get the reference, then you’ve not seen the Familiy Guy where he guest-starred and they torpedoed all of his scripted lines to make him look like the giant asshole that he is.

  30. When this joker shared his unsolicited advice on gun control, I stopped paying to watch anything he is in. His hypocrisy of wanting gun control in our country is demonstrated through his profiting from the use of firearms in movies. My advice is to him is go to h### back to his Ireland/British enclave and leave Americans along, so they can live their own lives the way they see fit.

  31. Many of us are totally for arse control in the UK and Ireland…and it will make about the same difference…
maybe if they started by confiscating the guns in criminal hands FIRST…not those of law abiding gun owners…

  32. This from another hypocritical movie actor who got rich making movies where he killed lots of people with guns. He’s a wormy dweeb who makes his living pretending to be something he isn’t.

  33. This over opinionated foreigner should learn to keep his ignorant mouth shut. He hasn’t got a clue about how our country was built. If he doesn’t like our guns he’s welcome to get the hell out of here. We don’t care much for disrespectful aliens like this narcissistic prick anyway 🤮🤬
