Dear Senator Hashmi and Delegate Carr,
I am writing to you as your constituent to share two pieces of terrific news.

Not only have your constituents bought guns in record numbers over the past several months, roughly 40% of those purchases went to first-time gun owners. That is absolutely fabulous news.

As gun ownership increases, the deterrent against crime grows stronger, and the culture shifts back towards normalizing gun ownership. Gun owners are on track toward turning the tables on lawmakers: soon politicians will have to chase after gun votes, rather than having gun owners beg for the infringements to cease.

Those of us who understand firearms know that guns are the greatest unifier there is in the USA. Gun people are all about other gun people, and gun ownership crosses all the political and socio-economic boundaries. The ruling elite try to pigeonhole us, but we are not all old white men.

Quick proof of this: social media website reddit.com has r/NRA (right leaning), r/liberalgunowners (left of center), and r/socialistRA (Socialist Rifle Association, way falling-over left). Reddit users skew younger, and politically left-of-center generally. They own and love guns, and they bring more people into the fold every day.

I’d argue that the camaraderie among gun owners rivals that of the military. I see it every day I’m at the range, and every time I log into the discussion groups on reddit. This leads me to the second piece of terrific news of the past week: the best picture of 2020 (see photo at top of page).

This year has been a challenge to say the least, but its pictures like this one that tell me we are going to get through all it together as one unified people. That picture captures all of the ideas I’ve just written about, and more.

On July 4th there was an open-carry pro-2A rally in Richmond, Virginia. Several hundred people supporting gun rights showed up. A smaller group of #BLM social justice advocates showed up as well, presumably to keep an eye out for racist rotten apples, and to make sure that any hateful message was checked.

Guess what happened? The two groups literally joined hands and marched together. I’m not surprised, because both groups love guns and both groups have the same concern: oppression.

I don’t know the woman in that photo, but I can try to look at the world through her eyes. There are some things I am certain of: she, like everyone else, has an inalienable right to defend herself.

Just imagine for a moment if Joe Biden is elected in November and his “gun control” plan is put in place. That woman’s AR-15 instantly goes on the NFA (National Firearms Act) list, along with her magazine.  She has to cough up $200 each for the tax stamp for both.

Is that justice? Is it fair that in addition to all the other injustices she may face, that she has to pay additional money to the state that in many ways has already failed her, just so she can lawfully carry what she inalienably should be able to by birthright alone?

What if Senator Saslaw’s original version of what is now Delegate Levine’s HB961 “assault weapons” ban passes, and her gun is outright banned. She’s out roughly the $1,000 she’s spent for the gun, scope, magazine, mag pouch, sling, and ammo.

What is she to do then? Assuming she can recover from that loss, maybe she can get a handgun or a “featureless” rifle that shoots the same ammunition. But either of those choices would put her at a disadvantage in defending herself, and put those around her at risk because of that. Other options don’t have the capacity that her gun has, nor the ease of fit and function that facilitates accuracy.

Please think long and hard about this woman, as well as the people and struggles she represented during that rally, and ask yourself how HB961 is doing her or her cause any favors.

  1. hold up, is the Booga proposing to the sista?? Hey, can see real chemistry there: she does have the bigger gun. xD

  2. Looking at the woman’s chest “rig” setup and the pink thing (a cell phone?), that reminds me that I need to find/buy a couple of various GoPro mounts. I want to get one for MOLLE chest mount, and one for “camping headlamp” mount for a good POV angle. If I ever have to face off against an angry mob at my house like the McCloskeys did, I’d like to have a GoPro clone and a mount near my EDC gear so I can have video of everything I’m looking at. For the inevitable lawyers, you know. That, and I think a mob might be a little less zealous to jump into the foray if they can see that you’re recording them as easily as they can record you.

    • This is the always necessary and never superfluous wisdom of the peerless ‘I Haz A Question’. As it was, is and ever shall be. Bow down!

      • Oh look, it’s the sycophantic monkey-baby-puppy All Hail, bothering Haz the Wise with his slobbery attention-begging, hoping for a Scooby Snack for his efforts.

One has to wonder if monkey-baby-puppy will still be here once the federal unemployment benefits run out in a couple of weeks and he’s forced to find a job again?

  3. The guy pictured in the red shirt does not represent the legal gun owners in Virginia. He is an attention seeking child that does not seem to grasp the seriousness of his speech. Words mean things.

  4. There in lies the problem, the Marxist’s of Mount Stupid can’t pull their heads out of the kool aid long enough to care. It’s about the idealogy of Marxism and lord help anything that gets in the way of their totalitarian Marxist agenda.

      • Wrong!!!!!
While non whites work in SOME areas, they don’t and NEVER HAVE worked in the skilled labor trades…… those jobs are A LARGE MAJORITY WHITE AND ALWAYS HAVE BEEN….
So yeah, you better THINK AGAIN….. WHITE MEN BUILT THIS COUNTRY AND CONTINUE TO…… trust me…..I KNOW!

        • trust me…..I KNOW!

The MOST dangerous words ever spoken… I hope I’m as smart and insightful and knowledgeable and in touch and intellectual and educated and All the other cool stuff that people like you and 49r wish you were when I grow up…..

        • Which one is it? They (minorities) don’t work as skilled labors? Or the majority of ones who do are white? lol.

Could you be more full of racist bullshit? Just go sit in the fucking corner. BAD Racist. BAD!

    • And thank god for the wise white men who founded this country. And gave us the blueprint to create a more perfect union.

      • I certainly won’t blame them for the flaws of the way the world was 400 years ago. All things considered, they seem pretty decent to me 😉

      • Lol…. here we go AGAIN with the peanut butter lies….
YOU PEOPLE NEED TO THINK BEFORE SPEAKING…..
And I’ve seen pictures of the white house House built….. not one slave ANYWHERE IN THOSE PICS…… SO NO, SLAVES DID NOT BUILD THE FKN WHITE HOUSE….
        NICE TRY, BUT TRY AGAIN…

        • “And I’ve seen pictures of the white house House built….. not one slave ANYWHERE IN THOSE PICS…… SO NO, SLAVES DID NOT BUILD THE FKN WHITE HOUSE….”

Well, first of all, construction in the White House started in 1792 so many people, including Matthew Brady, would be surprised to learn to do her photographs taken of the construction. Considering the camera was not developed until 50 years after the construction of the White House is quite the accomplishment to have photos of the construction, wouldn’t you say?

Frankly, I’m not sure if poor schooling or racism is at the root of your ignorance.

Either way, your revisionist history does not stand the light of day:

        • National Archives to Display PAY STUBS of SLAVES Used to Build U.S. …???

I’m not even going to point out the OBVIOUS problem with that sentence….

        • MADMAN, based on your comments, one can only surmise you are both, an ignorant racist.

Apparently, you’re not willing to do even the most basic research regarding American history, yet you don’t hesitate to make absurd claims about the construction of the White House.

Here are some pesky facts with actual documentary evidence:

“Two of Washington, DC’s most famous buildings, the White House and the United States Capitol, were built in large part by enslaved African Americans. In observance of Black History Month, the National Archives will display a page from a wage roll and a promissory note that document the work done by slaves on these two historic structures.

The documents will be on display in the Rotunda of the National Archives Building from Thursday, February 1, 2001 through Wednesday, February 28, 2001. The exhibit is free and open to the public. The National Archives Building is located at Constitution Avenue between 7th and 9th Streets, NW. Winter hours are 10 AM to 5:30 PM.

In 1791 Pierre L’Enfant, who planned the City of Washington, leased African American slaves from their masters to clear the sites for the “President’s House” and the Capitol. Once the land was cleared, Washington’s three-man Board of Commissioners, who oversaw the new city’s construction, tried to recruit laborers from Europe and America to build the two structures. Unable to find as many workers as they needed, the commissioners turned to African Americans slaves. Most slaves hauled building materials and sawed lumber, but others performed skilled labor such as carpentry, stonecutting, and bricklaying. A list of persons who were employed to build the Capitol and White House, between 1795 and 1800, contains 122 names labeled “Negro hire.”

Wage rolls preserved at the National Archives list the African Americans who worked on these projects as carpenters and brickmakers. One such roll is a 1795 “Carpenter’s Roll” for the President’s House. The document lists four slaves, “Tom, Peter, Ben, [and] Harry,” two of whom were slaves owned by James Hoban, the architect of the President’s House. The rolls record the number of days worked and the rate at which each person was paid. A slave’s wages were paid directly to the slave owner who signed the rolls as receipt of payment.

A second document is a 1795 promissory note from the commissioners to Jasper M. Jackson for the hire of his slave, “Negro Dick at the Capitol, from 1st April to 1st July 1795, 3 Months, at 5 Dollars per Month.” Little is known about the lives of the men who, like “Negro Dick,” built the Capitol. Most of them lived in shacks on the building site, where they received medical care, food, and occasionally, a small incentive payment above what was given to their masters.“

Tell me, do you think it’s patriotic to be ignorant of our nations history? Or, are you lying about history in order to promote your agenda of white supremacy?

        • 49r I get it, YOU are obviously a FAR superior being to us mere mortals and your cut and paste skills far exceed the abilities of any man I’m aware of, however to keep trying to pass yourself off as some genius historian is pure bullshit.. I can type in two or three keywords on any subject and come up with the same shit you do, only difference is that when I search something I cover all angles while you only offer up the far left narrative as that is the only thing that fits your Marxist agenda and then as usual you can be counted on to bloviate until no one pays any more attention to what you are posting (guess that makes YOU the winner?).. The best part of your moronic diatribes is when you accuse POTUS of using DIVISIVE language when that is ALL you do… Guess what, slavery is illegal in the U.S. has been for over 150 years, no one on this forum owns or advocates FOR the ownership of any other human being (unlike certain groups of Muslims, tribes in Africa and certain classes of people in South/Central America, China, N. Korea and India)… You want to wallow in the past and denigrate white people? Go fuck yourself, You want to label me an “ignorant racist”? Go fuck yourself, Everything you post has some level of of anti-white racist bullshit tone to it and you CONTINUE to dig up the past while your “enlightened” brothers and sisters do their damndest to bury it by destroying all symbols of our history. OBTW your following of Brother Alinsky is way too obvious… So I guess what I’m really trying to say is “Go Fuck Yourself” and if you consider that is a viable sexual option you are as sick a bastard as I think you are… Apologies to RV6Drivers Secretary if she happens to read this…..

        • So the white supremacy calls himself George Washington asserts that there were no skilled slave labor hours at the construction of the White House.

I find it quite ironic that an individual using the handle George Washington is attempting to spread a disinformation campaign regarding the construction of the presidents house.

“One such roll is a 1795 “Carpenter’s Roll” for the President’s House. The document lists four slaves, “Tom, Peter, Ben, [and] Harry,” two of whom were slaves owned by James Hoban, the architect of the President’s House.”

Tell me, Georgie, do you consider carpentry a skilled trade?

        • This is one argument I’ll side with Miner on. I don’t care what his purpose or point is, in rebuttal to George Washington’s comment, it’s true. GW is a racist fuckwit. Anyone who sides with him can fuck right off. Not to mention, he’s wrong. And ignorant about it too… At least if you are going to ask for pics, you should probably realize when the camera was invented, and how long it took to take photos when it was.

      • @49er…

You linked to a publication that states “The Blacker the Content the Sweeter the Truth” ????!!

If I were to publish anything remotely similar there would be one word to describe it.

        Racist.

        • I would say those who falsely attempt to negate the contribution of black Americans to this country are the racists, wouldn’t you?

        • Deflection.

Typical you won’t address the fact you linked to a Racist publication.

        • “a publication that states “The Blacker the Content the Sweeter the Truth” ????!!”

Number one, I’m surprised you think that statement is somehow racist.

Number two, your entire comment is about deflection. It doesn’t make any difference who relates the fact, as long as it accurate. And you have introduced no evidence to disprove the fact that enslaved Africans were forced to construct the White House, the US capital and many other buildings and other structures in America.

Tell me, if your liberal neighbor tells you your house is on fire, what do you do?
Do you just say “oh he’s a liberal so nothing he says can be right!”

Or do you check for smoke and call the fire department?

        • The WHITER the content the sweeter the truth!

You posted a link to a Racist publication.

All your deflection won’t change that.

        • MJ, you’re still offered no credible evidence to support your assertion that the publication is racist other than an advertising motto you find offensive without giving a reason.

Again, you’ve offered nothing to disprove the historical evidence that enslaved African people were involved in the building of both the White House in the US capital.

It’s really funny to read the claims that someone has seen photos of the building of the White House when construction started in 1792 decades before the camera was developed.
Matthew Brady would like a word with you.

Clearly, you’re just a friggin liar willing to spout falsehoods in order to support your twisted, bigoted agenda of white supremacy.

Really, do you think it’s patriotic to lie about the history of America?

        • @49er..You are setting up straw men as usual.

I did not read the article, I do not care who built what. I did not write anything about the White House..or anything about photographs..you seem confused.

But the second you link to an obvious racist publication anything else you say is pure BS and deflection. You did it, now own it.

@Montana…There must be one standard for all. If the (BET) Black Entertainment Network name is not racist than neither is the White Entertainment Network name as an example. (WET does not exist) If a Black man can use the ‘N-Word’, whatever the context, than so can everyone else.

Racist BS is Racist BS no matter where it comes from.

        • Klaus, it’s strange that you would use sex as an insult, but whatever floats your boat.

The fact is, your white privilege started when your white family had a 250 year Headstart on accumulating wealth and property.

Your ignorance of American history is sadly tragic.

        • Then I should probably refrain from pointing out that black people are supposedly one of the earliest races yet Africa is the poorest continent (inhabited by indigenous people) on the planet and they had a 100,000 year (give or take) head start on everyone on one the most resource rich lands on earth….

        • The cradle of civilization was in the Middle East, not Africa.

And Africa developed their civilizations thousands of years before the Europeans had crawled out of their caves.

You may have noticed something we like to call the pyramids of Giza.

Most researchers believe they are approximately 4500 years old, but there is evidence to suggest some of the gargantuan structures maybe thousands of years older. The water damage in the spanks enclosure indicates something on the order of 6 to 12,000 years of erosion have occurred on the Giza plateau since the sphinx was erected.

MADMAN, I think the better question would be, why did white European civilization lag the achievements of African civilization by 5,000 to 10,000 years?

And you know, Chinese civilization goes back thousands of years before white Europeans were stacking one rock on top of the other, one must wonder why the Asians (like the Africans) achieved civilization thousands of years before the white man, must be something to do with their intellectual capabilities possibly.

      • Miner49,
Yes, slavery is bad. I personally think it’s a mortal sin. Is that strong enough for you?
How about this? I think everyone who has ever been a slave should have the right to go shoot the slaveholder. But you have to buy your own tickets to Africa or the Middle East, ‘cause there’s no slaves or slaveholders left in America. Bad stuff happen in our history, just like bad stuff has happened everywhere. And there are problems left over, even after 150 years, which we need to work on fixing. How about we do that?

        • miner doesn’t want the problems fixed. It doesn’t suit his agenda. Keeping the country split and aiding in what he perceives as its destruction is his agenda.

        • Yes, I completely support the idea of equal justice under the law for all people in America.
Yes, I completely support the idea of equal justice under law for all people in America.

It is clear that our current president is using the language of bigotry in order to divide America, suggesting a judge of Mexican descent can’t rule impartially or stating that Mexicans are murderers and rapists would be examples.

          “I personally think it’s a mortal sin.”

I am glad to see you have a very low opinion of slavery, have you renounced Christianity, which gives explicit approval and instructions on how to conduct the enslavement of other people?

      • to Miner49er
Its racist white Libertarians, Liberals, and Leftists, like you, who support open borders. Allowing people who are literate in their own language to invade the US. You like having the most uneducated people coming here. And then replace black american workers with low wage dark skin spanish speakers.

It seems the three L’s have run out of low educated blacks. When you get educated you learn who is your real enemy. The ones who have given you “bread and circuses”. Now they need more low educated workers to replace the blacks.

        btw
If you’re gonna bring up slavery in the north america. Then talk about the slavery in the spanish government. And the slavery in the “native american empire”. Back when the indians made slaves of hundreds of thousands of runaway black slaves.

        • “ you, who support open borders”

Nope, no responsible liberal has ever espoused ‘open borders‘. Do we support a more liberal asylum policy? Yes, like Ronald Reagan, we think America should be the shining city on the hill that attracts folks from all over the world who want to work for a better life.

It is interesting that you claim the liberals want to flood the country with uneducated immigrants. But it was actually republican president Donald Trump who said “I love the poorly educated!” because he knew they were easily manipulated.

From reading your posts, it seems he was correct in this one regard.

        • From reading your posts, it seems he was correct in this one regard.

YOU are a bona fide asshole…. and a PRIME example of the ELITIST attitude of the FAR left…. Totally unnecessary comment, but coming from a smug racist like you, totally expected…

        • Maddie, I’m sorry you had to resort to profanity in an attempt to make your point.
Why do you find text, cut and paste, from a reputable site like the Smithsonian, the national archives, etc. objectionable?

Do you have an alternative source that espouses a different account of the history of Washington DC?

Or is your profanity laced whining all based on your ‘feelz’?

But you know, there’s hope for even folks like you:

        • Yes, a life of slavery is so much better than a life of freedom.

You have no idea what a life of slavery truly means.

      • If every single thing you say is true, what does that have to do with now? It used to be quite a chore to make fire. Does that also have bearing on our lifestyle today? You live in a world where what you believe is not happening. Get out there. Most people are decent to each other. You want to throw the baby out with the bath water. Oops, we know what you guys think about babies lives.

  6. Gun owners are overwhelmingly white men. If you want to have a society that respects gun rights, this is who needs to be in charge.

        • Or INDIA…India will overtake China in a few years. And there’s a helluva lot of Africans!

    • That stat is changing. We no longer can claim to be the majority gun owners. This latest rush to buy arms has seen a lot of minorities and women gunning up. A lot.

I don’t know for how much longer whites will be the numerical majority. I’m thinking that we’re going to be a brown nation before too much longer.

Just can’t help spreading hate and discontent across the board, huh big guy… It’s okay when your right…

        • You need to relax dude…. For a guy that consistently posts how much of a badass you are on here, you sure get upset over posts…..

Everything someone posts here is fair game. If you can’t handle a little banter don’t reply. But you do….. Maybe you can make a formal complaint and get me banned which I would think was hilarious.

Then again, for all I know you could be an asian chic trolling me while sipping a soy latte in Starbucks. Who knows at this point…… 🤔😆

      • Actually 70 is NOT “old”.. I still enjoy running my 03 Terminator a 1/4 mile at a time (low 10’s @ 120 plus) I go to Tx2K and run it over 170 mph… I ride my Electra Glide Ultra Classic daily and occasionally pull out the Bad Boy Springer Softail.. I hunt, fish, party all the same stuff I did 30, 40, 50 years ago I just have more time/money and more options of when/where to do it.. they say 70 is the new 50 but I feel more like 40 with an above average touch of arthritis and a bad hip….

        • Let’s not forget one armed pushups till dawn while staying hyper vigilant followed by hanging out with ornery characters that a mere glance from would send a punk like me running for the hills!!!!

        • There is that… Just didn’t want the youngsters to feel too inadequate … Don’t hang out with the “ornery” ones any more (too regimented) and hyper vigilance is not the picnic one might assume…. Can’t do a “proper” pushup, damaged left shoulder has limited range of motion… (part of my 100% disability rating) Never called you a punk…

        • I’m loving the time, money option. That’s the biggest difference in us old farts and the youngsters. Time and money.

        • Sweet! Except for the joint trouble thing. I have some myself, and I’m much younger. Like my Granny used to say, getting old ain’t for sissies.

        • Wise lady your Granny… It’s something you learn to live with and easy to ignore when you’re enjoying yourself (pay for it later though) No drugs, VA had me on 30 mg Oxycodone every six hours, got addicted said screw it, kicked that now an occasional joint if it gets too bad or a Brandy & Rocks at nap time… Live it while you got it….

        • “an occasional joint if it gets too bad”

Well, I’m glad the Liberals were right about that.

          Blaze on, fellow stoner!

        • Been “blazin” since 1965, far from a “stoner” occasional means NOT frequently… I like natural remedies, don’t need some far left scumbag that wants to numb the country so they won’t notice what’s going on to tell me what relieves my harshest pain… We’re NOT “fellow” anything…

  8. …the best picture of 2020 (see photo at top of page). This year has been a challenge to say the least, but its pictures like this one that tell me we are going to get through all it together as one unified people.

Jessica Doty Whitaker was shot and killed by BLM protesters in Indianapolis on July 5 because she or someone else in the group she was with said “all lives matter.” I expect leftist journalists to pretend it didn’t happen, but a lot of conservatives seem to want to ignore it, too, because they’ve internalized the rule that frank discussions of black criminality are in bad taste.

Petrocelli is whistling past the graveyard.

    • The entire political establishment is “whistling past the graveyard.” They’re too busy flapping their gums on TV and pushing their new book. We won’t see any action against the commies until one of them is assaulted, injured, and/or killed.

    • I would like to know what that guy is carrying in the link you posted…interesting forward grip being close to muzzle.

      • Looks like a Kel-Tec KSG. Hadn’t noticed the foregrip position, myself. That wouldn’t have been my first choice either.

    • Reason is a festering latrine pit dominated by “Socialist” libertarian writers. I had to give that nonsense rag up years ago. Libertarianism always boils down to the “No True Scotsman” debate, but that place became a mockery of its former glory many years ago.

If reading that pile of shit is where you developed the bizarre notion that libertarians are anything like the far left-leaning vocal minority in this country, at lot suddenly makes sense to me.

      • “Socialist libertarians” is what I meant to type. My silly ass failed put the second quote in the appropriate place and thus changed the meaning entirely… Whoops!

  9. Here’s a quote from the WSJ article on the spike in sales:

John Kingdon, 42, has marched and signed petitions for gun control, spurred by the 2012 mass shooting at a movie theater in Colorado and another at a gay nightclub in Orlando in 2016. But in May, the registered Democrat who lives in the Denver area bought a Sig Sauer P320 semiautomatic pistol online for around $550.

“If I had a hard time getting police to respond to me when we weren’t in a pandemic, what about now?” he said.

    • And it took you this long to wake up to what the rest of us have been saying, you dumb sh??t ! Even the Hillary supporters are finding out that they are not radical enough and are now in danger. ” Now they are knocking at my door “.

    • Don’t let it escape your notice that the so-called Wall Street Journal referred to his purchase as “buying a gun online.” That’s a deliberate half-truth at best, since the P320 is not a cap and ball firearm and you would have to be a non-C&R FFL to have it shipped to your door, the common understanding of “buy it online.” Consider the following semantic comparison: until recently, the closest thing we had to internet-based purchasing of a car was making a request via the manufacturer’s website, who would search the dealer network for one matching your description and have it traded to a dealer near you if necessary, or else make one and sell it to a dealer of your choice. Nobody called that “buying a car online,” even if you did have to front all or part of the cash for the custom order (or else already have signed off on a loan.) “Ordering,” sure, but not “buying.” The purpose of that phrase to these “journalists” then is to conflate the sending of a firearm to an FFL, where you buy it like any other gun, with the delivery of it to your front door via UPS. Even when they’re writing articles about gun control losing validity in the public consciousness, they still write straight-up propaganda supporting it.

      • Yes, I noticed the language as well, “buying a gun online” is definitely mischaracterizing the actual situation.

You just can’t trust a conservative rag like the Wall Street Journal, the mouthpiece of the Wall Street billionaires.

  10. Yes it is ok to be white, male, old or any combination lol.

Even though I am Jewish, I see a lot of anti-white article titles on TTAG, and it does seem kind of bigoted, to me.

    • It seems like a weakness of conservatives that they feel an excessive need to criticize their own base as a type of bizarre virtue signaling.

I see some of the same thing in the Evangelical churches I have attended/still attend. Pastors frequently criticize men (or Christians in general, or whites) for their failings, but are scared out of their minds to ever critique women (or people of color) for any failings they may exhibit. This is part of the reason people despise conservatives and are leaving churches.

  11. I don’t give a tinker’s dam if the only gun owner in the country was a broken down old redneck living in the buttcrack of Boondock Holler with a rusted out muzzle-loader down to the last powder load, or a black father holed up in an apartment building with a cheap revolver he scraped enough money together to get to protect himself and his family from the danger they can’t get away from, or a haggard woman squatting in a closet with two kids in one arm and a snubbie in the other pointed at her ex: they have the natural right to have it, no matter what any number of people, groups, or laws have to say.

    • Perhaps you didn’t get the memo. Skin color, sex, and age are of the utmost importance (and some are better than others), says the people that claim to be welcoming and inclusive.

    • Great writing, very evocative and picturesque.

Unfortunately, there are many more gun owners that don’t fit those categories that we must deal with in the real world.

Some are reasonable, some are hot tempered, some have anger management issues and some are plainly mentally ill.

As a society, we must craft a firearms policy that protects our liberties while at the same time allowing a reasonable amount of protection to the members of society.

      • Some are reasonable, some are hot tempered, some have anger management issues and some are plainly mentally ill.

Wow Historian, Psychologist, Critic? How do you find the time? Your Marxist brothers and sisters must be SO proud……. Keep up the good work…

        • Thank you for the kind words, but my observation was one that any reasonable person could make.

I do understand, it to a person of your ilk it seems a pearl of wisdom but truly, it was nothing.

        • , it to a person of your ilk it seems a pearl of wisdom but truly, it was nothing

You are absolutely incapable of comment without some senseless, ignorant, condescending remark… Must suck to be you… See you’ve got me doing it…

  12. Oh it will be big tent time soon on the right, as political fortunes circle the bowl. But I’ve got to tell you, you trumpkins acted pretty repulsive when you thought you were getting what you wanted. I don’t think the memory will fade quickly among potential 2A allies. You probably do, most of you don’t have the mental equipment to consider how you’re seen by others.

    • I don’t think that I’d be writing about “mental equipment” when you write sentences like those.

I think you meant “repulsively” maybe but that is a terrible sentence. Also your last sentence beginning with “you probably do..” is completely disconnected from anything else you wrote.

In sum, you are one ignorant motherfucker.

      • “Also your last sentence beginning with “you probably do..”“

Hey there grammar police, you might want to correct your post wherein you quoted the other gentleman. For some reason you added 2 periods after the word ‘do’ and included them inside the quotation as if the gentleman had use that punctuation, which of course he didn’t.

I’m not sure why you added the punctuation, but I must tell you, it’s a terrible sentence.

  13. Who at this point still thinks the left gives a shit about race? It’s nothing more than a club to beat opponents with, stop playing a game designed to kill you.

    • Sincere in their race baiting or not no good can come from convincing 92% of the earths population that the other 8% is evil, the cause of all their problems and not worth human consideration. Identity politics isn’t going to end well for that 8%.

As stupid as I think identity politics are of that 92% how many do you think take it seriously? If I have to suffer being called racist because a racist-against-me mob is calling for my head and I express dissatisfaction with that so be it.

      • Woke culture is so aggressively stupid, they’re devouring their own. An author, who I’m sure is an “ally” had a book coming out. This was a fantasy fictional book that involved at least one non-white character in a white society. The mob came for her. How dare she write about non-white fictional people because, she’s white! She got so much criticism, that she canceled her own book! AND she apologized, and promised to do better in the future. Is this how you help black people? It’s pure insanity.

“It is wholly my decision to withdraw the book in order to mitigate the harm I have done. I have work to do to improve myself and my writing, and I will continue doing it.” She concluded the statement by suggesting that readers support Black authors and providing a list of suggested “published or upcoming YA, all of which contain elements of fantasy and folklore.”

  14. No, you interpret it that way. The purpose is to shed light on the diversity, because the media pushes their divided racist agenda and people believe it. The purpose is to show them it’s not true. Doesn’t matter how or where, any truth to that helps.

    • Haha. You think once non-Whites are in power they’re going to be great to Whites. Just pack up and move to South Africa already.

      • I think that’s something a closet racist would say. Get over it dude. Nobody forcing you to read beyond the headline. You clicked it. Learn the psychology of your actions before you talk shit. I won’t tolerate race baiting from their side, and I certainly won’t tolerate it from your side. If you have a problem with simply trying to break the MSM narrative about how divided we are (which we are not), then don’t change shit at your level…. just keep doing what you are doing – being an asshole.

  15. I doubt the whole point being made was really about being an old white guy, but about getting many gun owners to write their representatives expressing their views and getting off their asses and voting. I write my state and federal representatives once a quarter. I tend to get some type of reply from them even if it is just a form letter and often I will send one covering two or three different topics. Sometimes the reply covers each of those topics, which I believe means a little effort went into the response.

I know a number of gun owners who will not write their representatives because they don’t want to ‘get on a government list of gun owners’. Unless you live way out in the sticks, make your own powder and cast your own bullets, there is probably a way to track down the fact you have a connection with firearms. Speak up, ad try to do it in a non threatening manner. Politicians want votes. Let them know, you are a voter and they can be replaced. Its for damn sure that Bloomberg and Soros’ groups make their view known.

    • I doubt the whole point being made was really about being an old white guy

You REALLY do need to get a sense of humor…. But thank you for SPLAININ that to us feeble minded old folk, If you are what happens when we are ALL grown up I think I’ll put it off for a little while longer

    • “Speak up, ad try to do it in a non threatening manner. Politicians want votes. Let them know, you are a voter and they can be replaced.”

There it is, as simple Road Map for public advocacy.

Thank you for your reasonable and on point post, bravo!

      • Its White people, Liberals, who can’t control themselves. You will not find this reported on the MSM. And of coarse blacks are placed up front so the press photographs them first.

“[Black] Man GOES OFF on “Mostly White” Protesters After They Ruin His Dinner” video 5 min long. In Dallas Tx.

    • “I doubt the whole point being made was really about being an old white guy, but about getting many gun owners to write their representatives expressing their views and getting off their asses and voting.”

That was likely the point, but a lot of gun owners would rather get into their feelings about it than understand that it would benefit us to have MORE voters a) owning guns and b) voting accordingly.

  16. Let’s just say it is just a bunch of old white guys well that doesn’t make it wrong. Even the author has adopted that thinking. I think it’s just more of a matter that we can do, maintain and enjoy without inclusion and that pisses everyone off.
The fact that we have done it for generations makes y’all mad and makes you understand that you really are not “special” because your not needed. Your welcomed but not needed anymore than I am needed in the (pro 2A) Black Panther Party in which I am not welcomed.
So join on in and call your (old white guy) pro 2A politician because the other politicians are not going to listen to you because they stand for something else or were emplaced by those who stand for something else. Sure there are a few others who do support the 2A or pretend too anyway but they are not the norm. Heck even most the “pro 2A’ politicians don’t really support the 2A, just look at President Trump who claims to but then enacts illegal gun control based on feels. Last one I’ve actually seen shoot was former Vice President Cheney who shot someone in the face. Heck even our woman republican running here pulls out a super clean no rubs revolver from the glovebox (terrible 60-70s idea) in a commercial looking like it’s a foreign scary object with that improper grip. I guess my Duluth man panties were supposed to drop over it.
Now tie up them man buns, rub in that beard oil, dust off that coach purse and get them hater thumbs to work.

  17. fyi
White Liberals like Miner 49er use american slavery as a distraction. He and black Liberals leave out the Arab Slave Trade in black africans and white europeans. And how so many were butchered. There are books on the subject out there if you wish to find out more information.

    1. “Afro-Turks on the legacy of the Ottoman Empire’s slave trade | Focus on Europe | Focus on Europe” video 4 min long
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3JqcDShaNo

    2. “Episode 2 – The White Slave Trade of Africa” video 10 min long

    • “Afro-Turks on the legacy of the Ottoman Empire’s slave trade”

Friend, slavery in the ottoman empire has nothing to do with the United States of America.

If you are so upset about Arab slavery then get on over there and do something about it.

        • No slavery in 150 years, but the flag of the traitorous slavers continues to fly in America.

Over 150 years but the prejudice still lives on.

        • It’s called freedom of speech, miner. I realize that bigots like you and george washington are against any expression that you do not agree with. People can display flags and build statues that you do not approve of. It’s amazing to me how you go on about flags but yet you proudly support the margaret sanger plan for genocide against blacks. A very successful genocide.

Fascinating. You may actually be more dangerous to blacks in America than george washington.

        • “I realize that bigots like you and george washington are against any expression that you do not agree with.”

I’m not sure what you’re talking about, I have never advocating not allowing anyone to speak freely of their opinions. They must also suffer the consequences of their delusional opinions as well.

“ People can display flags and build statues that you do not approve of.”

Sure, on their own property. But the citizens of America will not tolerate statues and monuments commemorating traitors against America on public property. This means no courthouse statues, no city park statues, no public square statues of vicious, proslavery insurrectionists to America.

“you proudly support the margaret sanger plan for genocide against blacks.”

I have no opinion on Margaret Sanger or her policies. Like you pointed out, she had the right to free speech and made her views known publicly and suffered the consequences for holding those views.

I am for a woman’s right to choose what she does with her body, because in Genesis, the Lord clearly states that that little bit of clay does not acquire a living soul until God breathed the breath of life into them.

Or do you not follow the holy Bible? I can understand your reluctance, all that stuff about how great slavery is does make the Bible a bit reprehensible, not to mention all that text about killing those who don’t believe in Jehovah.

  18. I have seen a number of articles with the same general thrust of this one.
I can only conclude 2A supporters are indeed a cult like the MSM says if they will gleefully break bread with the prog marxist scum attempting to overthrow their civilization.

This may come as a shock but commie revolutionaries need weapons for their revolutions, and the ‘clean up’ that follows. I honestly believe the scariest thing to see will be when the prog leftist start SUPPORTING firearms ownership. I agree even the marxist scum have a right to firearms and self-defense yet I am not so so suicidaly dogmatic on the subject that I will cheer it as a good thing.
Wake western man, time is short.

  19. Even if most gun owners were “old white guys”, not the case at all, most of the above mentioned are peacefully inclined, law abiding citizens, with constitutional rights, a fact that gets short shrift, how come I wonder. By the way, gun ownership is not limited to the “old white guys” so often mentioned. Rather it includes all manner of law abiding people, as well as some who aren’t, this last mentioned group, in many cases, already proscribed from the ownership of arms, due to criminal convictions. How about recognizing the facts. Most owners, notwithstanding their color, race, age, national origin are law abiding types. Unfortunately, society is unable or unwilling perhaps both to address the minority who aren’t. How come or why, I wonder.

By the way, respecting the following, excerpted from the above article: “As gun ownership increases, the deterrent against crime grows stronger, and the culture shifts back towards normalizing gun ownership. Gun owners are on track toward turning the tables on lawmakers: soon politicians will have to chase after gun votes, rather than having gun owners beg for the infringements to cease.”, actually seeing the described situation coming to pass would be a whole lot more than merely interesting.

  20. It doesn’t matter if it is only just a bunch of old white guys.
The Constitution stands and I don’t see anything in it that says if only a few guys still insist on being armed, we can just ignore the Second Amendment.
This article misses the whole point. The point is that the Bill of Rights protects everyone, whether you choose to use that right or not.
