Liberal Angst over 3540 m kill shot by Canadian military

In recent days, the dead-tree Toronto Star suffered a meltdown over comments made by the Canadian Prime Minister. Justin Trudeau lauded members of the Canuck armed forces for a remarkable sniper shot in Iraq. Clearly, the soldiers deserved high praise. One of Canada’s best connected on a 3540 meter rifle shot at a ISIS “fighter” in Iraq. The shot proved an all-time record-breaker and wonderfully fatal to the target.

Understandably, Trudeau recognized the accomplishment. From an earlier report at the Toronto Star:

“What happened there is, first of all, something to be celebrated for the excellence of the Canadian Forces in their training, in the performance of their duties,” Trudeau told a news conference.

But praising military excellence didn’t sit well with the pearl-clutching pacifists at the Star. In a show of furious hand-wringing submissiveness, the newspaper poo-poohed any “celebration” of military power as distressingly “crude and simplistic.”

From Sniper shot is no cause to celebrate: Editorial…

Justin Trudeau was wrong to suggest the killing of a Daesh fighter is cause for pride.

…they are human beings. They have homes and families and histories. No matter their crimes, their lives are valuable in the sense that all lives are valuable, and deserving of at least some degree of respect.

These sissified, big-city leftists are the same people who argue against gun rights for law abiding citizens. They live in ivory towers, far from the battlefield or, for that matter, the mean streets of their own cities. They have no clue how the real world works.

These hand-wringing peaceniks rush to defend adherents of radical Islam while sweeping Islamic barbarism under the rug. They avoid reporting on how these Daesh types — the same people who “have homes and families and histories” —  stone rape victims to death for the crime of adultery.

They bury reports of radical Islamists throwing gays off of buildings to their deaths for their homosexuality.

Where are their stories of how these same monsters burn women and children alive for trying to flee Islamist-controlled areas of Iraq? The mainstream press somehow forgets to cover stories of how these “valuable” human beings mangled over two-hundred toddlers to death in an industrial dough kneader for the “crime” of being Christian.

Americans have the right to keep and bear arms, [sort of] protected by the Constitution. Unlike many residents of other nations, our citizens own and carry guns — and we’re not afraid to use them when the situation warrants. Here and abroad. And we don’t apologize or prevaricate when we do. Why should we?

    • No, the whole country is in big trouble from end to end. Saskatchewan is probably a bit less in trouble right now, but we’ll see if Wall can hold out. Alberta will do a bit better once Nuttley gets thrown out.

I don’t think I can understate the problem here. We just apologized to a terrorist and gave him money, while at the same time delaying pension payments for veterans. That’s ignoring the TTAG-related issues of Beo and 10/22 mags among other things.

    • While I’m not certain of the intricacies of Canadian elections they do seem to get a lot of Liberal Prime Ministers. I suspect it has to do with the large urban areas having a disproportionate advantage in choosing national leaders.

Maybe their legislature should look into a constitutional amendment instituting the protections of our electoral college system to balance things out? I’m not entirely sure that would resolve their issues, maybe all Canucks are in fact that Liberal, but it might balance the scales a little.

    • A SHOT BEYOND ANY ONES IMAGINATION! LET THESE FIGHTING MEN DO THEIR JOBS SO THEY DO NOT HAVE TO DO THEM HERE IN THE U.S. GOD BLESS OUR FIGHTING TROOPS AND THEIR FAMILIES!

  1. Sometimes an opinion is just so divorced from reality I find it impossible to understand it or respect its author. This is one of those times.

    • “…Americans have the right to keep and bear arms, [sort of] protected by the Constitution. ROFLMBO at the pure idiocy of the person who’d make this kind of statement– obviously doesn’t live in the real world where soldiers are required to get congressional approval to even load a magazine into their rifle… or get DOJ consent to fire upon an enemy shooting at them… or SCOTUS decision that killing the enemy won’t designate a soldier as prison bound… and much more.

Keep on beleiveing you’re free, America… God only took ten sentences to tell us how to live.Yet government requires more than 30,000 to tell you how to live. Yayyy– way-to-go-gov’t. we need more!

        • Obviously, you glanced through both and didn’t understand what the topic was.

          Try again.

      • Well the commandment says (depending on precise translation) Thou shalt not kill/murder.

And then He is silent on what your course of action should be if you catch up to someone who is a murderer.

Maybe could use just ONE MORE sentence?

        • No, it doesn’t say thou shalt not kill. It does say thou shalt not murder. The difference is enormous. Killing in the process of self-defense is in no way proscribed; if it were, the believers would be extinct, and the religion an irrelevant smudge in the book of history. And exactly what constitutes self-defense – that definition – is where all the problems come from. But clearly, killing an enemy bent on killing you is NOT murder.

        • If you had a better understanding, you’d know He has much to say about what to do with murderers and thieves.

One often has to do more than a cursory reading to understand deep topics.

        • “Thou shalt not kill/murder.”

Those are only interchangeable words in the English language. English is commonly a very imprecise language. The verb used in the Torah commandment is “ratsah,” which generally is translated as murder, and refers only to criminal acts of killing a human being. The word “kill” generally refers to the taking of life for all classes of victims and for all reasons. This generalization is expressed through a different Hebrew verb “harag.”

      • Ya JSW we all know who the idiot is here. That would be you. Your probably a socialist idiot on top of everything else who beleaves able bodied sponging freeloading people should be untitled to be taken care of by the hard working people who actually work hard to earn there own way in life.

  2. Why don’t these ivory tower liberals invite these people to move into their homes and watch their children for them? Absolute stupidity!!!

    • This isn’t just a good idea, this is what needs to actually happen. Apologists for Muslim thugs need to live with them, in a Muslim-dominated society, in order to really walk their talk. After they’ve done so for a bit, they’ll change their tune.

We see dozens of self-loathing white European females headed to the middle east to join the ISIS “revolution” or whatever they’re styling it as.

Invariably, within two years, these females are singing a very different tune. After they’ve been personally treated as ISIS treats women, they start to cop a clue.

      • Thank you for the good laugh, sir. I too, daily remark at the collision of liberal progressive ideals with the harsh realities of the world. A good example being a licensed, insured, pro-illegal Democratic voter in a halfway decent car being rear-ended by an illegal alien with no license and car insurance.

I’m an extremely rightwing (thanks La Rue tactical for the bumper sticker!) independent conservative who can actually live my politics. I hope WI stays free – I’ll be looking to purchase land there soon.

  3. What’s “funny” is Trudeau is(usually) a whiny little leftist BI##H. THAT’S the real story here…

  4. That’s a hard pic to look at with the Children in the cage. Be damned if that ever happened around me without deadly opposition…. just 1 of the many reasons to never give up the right to keep and bear arms.

    • The REQUEST for to give up your arms comes with the death penalty, you just haven’t exercised your authority in that regard.

      yet

    • The kids in the cage was a staged by Anti-Assad Syrian rebels protesting the burning death of a Jordanian pilot by ISIS.
But still, the point is made — corrupting omnipotence leads to a devaluing of life.

    • A pacifist would allow that to happen. If a pacifist had been there and the bad guys gave him an ak and told him that he could save those kids by shooting 1 bad guy the pacifist, if he was a true pacifist, would have refused and watched those kids die.

The true pacifist is about as low as they come.

  5. ISIS – not Daesh (we don’t give a flying FING F what they’d rather be called) and not ISIL, like their fans like Obama and the MSM like to refer to them, as ISIS doesn’t even have the stones themselves to claim the territory that includes Israel; ISIS needs to be F’d up in such a spectacular FING fashion, that any remaining viable DNA wakes up 400 years from now with a headache and permanent nightmares.

I think Mattis will get ‘er done, but, WHATSOEVER THE FU<kS THAT OBAMA INVITED OVER HERE NEED TO BE HUNTED HOUSE TO HOUSE, AND GET THE SAME TREATMENT AS STATED ABOVE.

3540 meter shot? F u < K, shoulda gone nuclear, then filleted the complainers, and then gone after their fing kids and everything that's ever been important to them or associated with them. They are NOT humans, cause FU if you dare equate the rest of us humans to that sh_t. YOU ARE NOW THEM.

      • Lol I don’t think he can stop the flow of verbal diarrhea from his fingers long enough to learn even one thing about what he’s saying.

    • You all need to read, ISIS doesn’t hate it, they are attempting to get around being rejected by their fellow non-ISIS muslims, because they have killed muslims, and destroyed muslim citiies. Daesh is part of their end-game-strategy branding.
IT’S NOT A “NICE” NAME THAT SOMEONE TRIED TO GIVE THEM, IT’S A BADGE OF LEGITIMACY THAT THEY HAVE ATTEMPTED TO IMPROVE THEIR “BRAND” WITH. If there’s a complaint, it’s that it sounds like the name of a cat to the Western world.

      http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/word-isis-doesn-article-1.2438861

      • God, blowhards can be moronic sometimes. “Daesh” is similar to the word for ‘crush/trample/destroy’ in that part of the world, and is not some “positive branding” they are attempting as a ploy to avoid the (English) word ‘Islam’ in the name. “Daesh” is very similar to the acronym for ISIS in the native language. Use of the pejorative term “Daesh” by their subjects warrants a heinous death. Read some more and use the caps-lock key less, Walter Sobchak.

      • Mr. R. – Your own link there seems to contradict your claim that the murderers like it.

–As Arabic translator Alice Guthrie explained in an exhaustive Free Word article this year, acronyms are rarely used at all in Arabic, so any acronym already sounds ridiculous to many Arabic speakers.

Worse yet, the acronym Daesh is nearly identical to the Arabic word “dais,” meaning something that crushes or tramples. That’s an ominous definition on its own, but not the one this self-aggrandizing group wants in its quest for Islamic rule.–

        • Right, I get ya. ISIS isn’t an acronym (that they came up with) used to show that they intend to create a worldwide (but at least area-wide) caliphate.

And just their name and black flag, black-faux-ninja pajamas won’t get them shot-on-sight.

          Right.

ISIS IS SOOOOO much more popular and desirable. I can hear them all crying out now in their (we’ve been a_ _ -raped since the age of 9 high-pitched feminine voices) “oh please, don’t refer to us as ‘the thing that crushes’ that would indeed be horrible. . .”

          YA,

          F dat

  6. No, if it had been Christians doing the beheading, or tossing gays off buildings, or crushing Muslim children for being Muslim; the progressive media would be printing and broadcasting non-stop condemnation of the perpetrators of such barbaric and bloody actions. And they would be celebrating the snipering of such a barbaric Christian monster.

You see, progressives do not celebrate the death of such a muslim monster, because in the end, they agree with the jihadists stated intent to destroy our Western culture, because they are unstated allies with the jihadists working feverishly for the same destruction. They practice the old proverb, “The enemy of my enemy is my friend”

    • They work for satan, or else they would not be so insatiable with regard to killing unborn kids with scissors and selling their parts to be used as food and other commodities.

      • Pretty much. It seems like many belief systems that does not acknowledge Yaweh and the Christ as Lord, seems to fall into human sacrifice as one of their satanic rituals. Communism/socialism/progressivism and their “right” to murder the unborn; the various pagan religions of history and their burning of children in the arms of Molek; Aztecs and their blood sacrifices. I even learned recently that the Vikings were sacrificing human beings to their gods.

It does say in the Bible that those that deny Christ as Lord are one with the Anti-Christ. It seems from many that deny The Christ, by thier actions, they seem to indicate this. “You shall know them by thier fruits”

        • I deny The Christ as Lord. But I am not one with the Anti-Christ, at least not anymore. We broke up years ago. He’s with Debbie now.

        • Amen!
Not like the bible, wherein no one chosen, blessed, rewarded or forgiven by god ever sacrificed (or attempted to) another person (especially their son) or dealt in human slaves, or murdered prisoners or innocents….
          Ohh, wait…

        • You guys are funny! According to the Pew research, 3 out of 4 atheists/agnostics are Democrats or vote leftist. So 75% of atheists are enemies to individual freedom and personal responsibility. A/A are the ones that supports the party that fights for the right to murder the unborn and are of the party that hates our second amendment rights. Also, atheists/agnostics are more useful as “useful idiots” for they supported our favorite athiests (Stalin, Mao, Pol-Pot, Castro ad nauseum) that murdered over a hundred million people in the last hundred years.

So 75% of athiests/agnostics are of the party that is dominated by progressives that is rooted in communism/marxism, which has shown itself to be one of the most bloody, tyrannical and just plain insane belief systems of all of history.

Where as evengelical Christians are 75% conservative or vote right. So if you want a person standing beside you fighting to protect our second amendment rights, the odds are it will be a Christian.

        • And it also typical FMJ, that you have to reach into some distant past, when no one is alive, to look for bad things to say about Christians. You don’t have to do that with Athiests/agnostics.

        • I fucking hate when people call atheism a “belief system” it’s the exact opposite of that.

I’m an atheist because I believe that all of the religious texts throughout human history are complete bullshit and were written by people that had an understanding of the natural world at the level of a modern 6 year old.

My inherent (and taught by my parents) moral compass points in the same direction, to within a couple degrees, as Judeo-Christian values even though I think that all of that mystical crap they talk about is simply spiritual Morphine: makes you feel good about yourself but doesn’t really accomplish anything.

        • JESUS doesn’t deny you. But if you can get the rest of us Christians to deny HIM, when HE comes back, you better reach HIS bosom before we reach you.

        • So Snatchums, how is atheism not a belief system? I mean, you “believe” there is no G-d, that’s a belief. If atheism is not a belief, then what is it?

Also, maybe you can explain why atheism is preferable to “believing” in a higher power? Athiests have not shown themselves to be more logical, rational or practical than Christians, in fact, the exact opposite.

They are three out of four more likely to be a progressive or leftist voting. The vast majority believe in a system of thought based in lies, delusion and sheer fantasy. They vote for a political agenda that sees themselves as either elitists that needs to tell everyone else how they should live by government mandates, or they are over grown children in adult bodies wanting everything provided for them by their mommy and daddy government.

Then of course, the atheists have been the prime “useful idiots” used by power mad dictators to murder hundreds of millions of people to create their communist “utopias” in the last hundred years.

So , please explain the “obvious” benefits to not believing in G-d.

        • Communists are just believers in a secular ideology, rather than a religious one. Zealots of any ideology are dangerous when they try to force it on others. Many people who identify themselves as atheists reject ideology in general, or adopt a basic humanist ideology that one should treat others with respect and decency (which is not all that different from how many people of faith view the message of their particular religion).

        • So how do you explain that being wrong? if we are just evolved star dust? why is that wrong?
I say it is but i have a reason.

        • JWT
I said it would take the eradication of them in their entirety to fix the problem, but you’d have to destroy their progeny, and everything that they cared about to ever get any remainder to stop being such feces.

One thing I know about conflict (especially war), you can achieve the same effect (essentially) for a moderate amount of time if you can convince your enemy that you are willing to do “anything”. That’s what they are trying to do. That’s what we did by dropping atomic bombs on Japan.

It doesn’t even have to be on purpose, or intended. dead (D)head Murtha accused U.S. MARINES of committing murder in Haditha, Iraq. He was trying to shit on GW Bush and his handling of the war because dead Murtha was a POS (D)

          B U T

HE WAS FULL OF FING SH_T, BUT IT MADE THE IRAQI’S SCARED OF US AND LEAVE US THE F ALONE.
He was aided in the making of the charges by POS (D)emocratic advisor Sidney Blumenthal, and “I ran as an (R) but I suck the evil (D)” Republican Representative John Kline of Minnesota
          “https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haditha_massacre

Let the enemy call my bluff, not you.

        • How do you know that stars are not living organisms? How arrogant humanity is; that they think they can dictate “rules” of life across the universe, of which they’ve they explored approximately 0%.

        • Go on over there Joe and teach them a lesson they won’t forget! We’re with you all the way!

Well, not all the way. We’ll see you off at the airport.

Unless they don’t validate parking at the airport.

Oh hell, who am I kidding?

        • LarryinTX,

On a practical level, in order for you to declare with authority that neither satan nor God exist, you would have to be all-knowing … which is not the case. (Proof that you are not all-knowing: you do not know my favorite flavor of ice cream.)

Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that satan and God are so repulsive/disturbing to you that you refuse to talk about them?

        • What is interesting is that you speak with such certainty about the existence of a creator, yet scientists can still not create life from the building blocks if life, and they just found out 95% of all matter is not measurable by our current technology, and can only by known by it’s effect on the surrounding universe.

          Hmm. Yeah.

        • Larryin TX
The atheist have plenty of blood on their hands in my life time. Tens of millions as I remember. It always seems atheists skip over Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Che Guevara, Pol Pot, to back 400 years to find “nasty” Christians.

        • No No NO…

The lyric goes: “I swear there is no heaven and I pray there is no Hell.”

Personally I do not believe in either, but I feel it is still important to live in a manner that would not get me into Hell in any case. Such honor and ethics just makes sense in a civilized society.

Actually, what makes the most sense is to watch how the people of ISIS/ISIL/Daesh act and live your life exactly the opposite, which includes eradicating psychopathic and sociopathic scum like ISIS at every opportunity like the vermin they are.

  7. The level of stupidity displayed by these folks is nearly unbelievable. It makes me wonder how our species have survived this long.

  8. “No matter their crimes, their lives are valuable…”

No. Some animals are just too dangerous to have loose.

    • Such a cute faux-losophy, isn’t it? As we all know, value is an intrinsically relative thing, it’s quantity being exactly defined by how much more worthy it is than something else. All lives carrying equal value –the cry of so many self-proclaimed pacifists– logically correlates to each life carrying…no value. All it is is an excuse to avoid an opinion or conviction regarding a controversy, the hallmark of the cowardly nihilist. ‘Life’ as a whole is valuable, since these selfish individuals rely on society to exist, so they selfishly cherish its authority; but ‘life’ at the individual level is worthless, no one person worth more or less than themselves or any saint or criminal, a reflection of the nihilist’s barely-concealed self hatred and rejection of agency. Like practically every other facet of the collectivist mindset, it is a fundamental contradiction of the stated purpose (pacifism claiming to protect life vs. ensuring its destruction, to respect each individual vs. treating them as expendable in pursuit of an ideal, etc)

  9. Normally I want to argue when I hear US folks slanging Canada. Reflexive patriotism, I suppose.

The Canadian government just gave 10 million dollars and an apology to a terrorist who murdered a US medic, and the news broke on July 4th no less. I don’t think I have a foot to stand on.

    • I would say the predominance of ‘slanging’ on Canada is defensive and reactionary to a perceived slight or threat to the U.S.

We love the U.S. like Texans like Texas.

The U.S. is just a little bigger, so the love spreads thin in places, and, at times, runs-out completely at the borders.

    • Did you even read the facts of the case? The Canadian courts decided the “conviction” was based on non-existent evidence and the confession was coerced. Recall that numerous American military lawyers assigned to Guantanamo quit because they believed those prosecutions were a kangaroo court.

Also, explain how the killing of military personnel engaged in the military occupation of a foreign nation is “murder” or “terrorism”.

      • The guy that proclaims communist soldiers and the Isis types as freedom fighters. As a communist I expect you to attack the institutions of the nation you’re working to subvert from within.

        • Just as before, I cited context, you deliberately ignore context due to your absolute ignorance and dishonesty.

          “Isis types as freedom fighters”

Produce a quote me of me supporting ISIS. Pro-tip: you cannot, therefore you are a liar and fantasist.

On the other hand, the US government is directly responsible for the rise of ISIS, so arguably people who support US interventionism in the Middle East is indirectly responsible for ISIS. 🙂

        • Context? Praising communist soldiers as freedom fighters needs no context. They are the biggest mass murderers in history. Mao and Stalin were both “freedom fighters” using your cherry picked rules. Didn’t stop them from being soaked in the blood of the innocents.

And here you are, a communist, working to undermine the last truly free country in the world.

But as a communist you take lying to the next level. Sorta your job description. Man, how it must have burned your ass to see hillary get the boot.

        • MDS You’re not even a good communist. A real red blooded communist would despise Islam. You’re just a typical liberal that slanders anything western at any given chance.

        • “no context”

Spoken like the mindless drone that you are. Do you really believe bad people cannot fight each other? Are all people who oppose communism good by definition?

Don’t answer that, it’s a trick question (for you). 🙂

        • In your world, mds, all who fight communism are the bad guys. Keep knocking my intellect. But I was smart enough to get you to drop the high moral ground facade you’ve claimed and out yourself as a communist.

You’re not against big .gov. You just want that big .gov to be communist.

Like a true red you work from within to tear down the institutions of the country that you wish to remake into a red wonderland.

You’re known now, comrade. Get used to it.

        • “all who fight communism are the bad guys”

Really? How did you derive that statement? Because I certainly never said it. 🙂

“drop the high moral ground facade you’ve claimed and out yourself as a communist”

Only in your mind, my mentally stunted friend. This binary morality of yours is about as sophisticated as a pre-school crayon drawing.

Here is a simple example for you (I hope it is simple enough):
          – Finnish resistance against Soviet aggression: good.
          – Propping up the US government’s pet despot after siding with French colonialists in a vain attempt to get France to join NATO and giving the Soviets an opening to support the freedom fighters: bad.
          – Being so stupid as to believe the US fought for the good guys in Vietnam: really stupid (that would be you). 🙂

        • That same Finland that went on to join the third Reich willingly??? Not so smart are you now mr. ISIScommunist.

        • comrade more dead soldiers. Like a good communist(is there such a thing) you will spread lies and misdirections.

You said that communist soldiers where freedom fighters. You also praised jihadi’s for killing non communist, as in American, soldiers.

You used to claim to be a pacifist and have the moral high ground. You’ve put the lie to both those statements by praising murderers with the blood of millions on their hands.

Now that you’re caught out your defense is”pay no attention to jwm, he’s stupid”.

You can report to your handlers that you’ve failed. You’re known as a communist, now.

        • “That same Finland that went on to join the third Reich willingly???”

In the real world, Finland refused to join the Wehrmacht in taking part in joint offensive operations against Leningrad and did not participate in any joint Axis offensives.

“Not so smart are you now mr. ISIScommunist”

The irony… it is too much. 🙂

        • ”pay no attention to jwm, he’s stupid”.

Heh. Your words, not mine. Besides, what’s obvious is what’s obvious. Occam’s Razor at work. It is not my fault your tiny head cannot handle something as simple as context. 🙂

        • comrade more dead soldiers. Either I’m clairvoyant or you’re predictable. I figured your exact answer last night after typing my comment.

          Communist to the end.

      • Ya, more dead soldiers should have outlived you.

Where do you stand on the UN rape and murder crews? Ahhh STFU, that was rhetorical.

You might not be paying attention, but we are. Statements like yours are an act of war in that they embolden the enemy, wear on the resolve of our nation, and thereby prolong, renew, or create new, the conflict.

        F U hard

        • Where do you stand on asking irrelevant questions? 🙂

“thereby prolong, renew, or create new, the conflict.”

Good one. The US government managed to goof the Afghanistan/Iraq wars all by themselves without any imaginary fith column. LOL.

        • You say that as though you think we couldn’t go Genghis Kahn on the cat litter box?

It’s a big place, with a lot of nooks and crannies but we could do it.

If we do, we’ll enjoy it even more because of people like you. So, thank you.

        • MDS we could’ve easily won both wars in a matter of hours. That’s right, hours. But too many Americans and Europeans have been brainwashed to think like you do.

        • “we could’ve easily won both wars in a matter of hours. That’s right, hours.”

Care to elaborate on how? I really want to hear this.

        • “You say that as though you think we couldn’t go Genghis Kahn on the cat litter box?”

Were you in the military? Only a dumb animal can have such a non-existent grasp on the political realities of war. 🙂

        • Yeah. Hours bud. Brilliant flashes of white light. Real Holy fire. The comforting glow of radiation. The beautiful power of 10 megaton blasts. Nuclear Fucking weapons. No amount of hiding in a hole or blending into the population will save you from the thick cloud of radiation in the air. Total nuclear annihlation of both countries could be done with minimal environmental impact outside of the Middle East.

        • And how would these nuclear blasts further the stated political goals of the US government at the time? Let’s just ignore the more obvious issue of this act poisoning US world relations to the point of possibly destroying the entire global economy.

Yep, you must be former military to be this stupid. LOL.

        • You’re just mad that it’s true. If the big bad evil USA was as big and bad as you say, this war would’ve been over long ago, as mentioned above. Also, you’re likely supremely butt hurt that you’re hero ISIS fighters would have no cunning strategy for you to hail against a radioactive wasteland.

        • I suppose by “work” you mean getting your rocks off fantasizing about mass murder, then yeah, it “works”. But in the real world where warfare is subjugated by political realities, a nuclear wasteland isn’t exactly helping spread democracy in the middle east (i.e. the stated political goal of the Iraq invasion). Sorry for the reality check. 🙂

By the way, the US government created ISIS. Even President Trump said so.

        • No. Winning doesn’t have to mean anything we don’t want it to mean. And total annihilation of your enemy is a perfectly acceptable definition of a win. We don’t need to spread democracy and achieve peace. We can simply dominate and leave it forever for the giant mutant bugs to fight over. But then I’m sure people like yourself will go on about how heroic the mighty radioactive earth worm is and how it needs to destroy the west thanks to Bush or some shit.

        • Hey, MDS (E.D.) YES, the U.S. created ISIS by not occupying Iraq for more than 2 generations (4 years = 1 generation [Don’t look at me, Cesare codified that human nature and condition in his Commentarii De Bello Gallico, when he had to go back and conquer England again (after being gone only 1 year), because he didn’t stick around long enough for the remaining living people to remember that they had been conquered ]) and it is noteworthy that the Obama pull-out was at just shy of 8 years.

YES, ISIS was a radical portion of the POS “the Muslim Brotherhood”. They might have fled to other parts and coalesced later, but it would have been “later” after Iraq was on it’s feet better, but al-Maliki had too many scores to settle and he shouldn’t have been chosen, but the EU still wanted something similar to Saddam’s “Oil for Food” program so that the EU could get Iraq’s oil, so turmoil was good.

BUT YES, GW Bush essentially took Iraq in ~ 90 days, (and that’s only because we didn’t want to destroy everything and everybody. WE have morals and standards, and if we didn’t we’d hunt you and yours.) YES GW Bush disbanded the current Iraqi military and a lot of the arms stock piles went with them, and the people we trained to replace them WERE WET CA-CA by the flaccid nature of a_ _ -rape muslimism and they couldn’t piss-up-a-rope but they could do sh_t-a_ _ green on blue incidents and steal weapons. F all of them.

But, long story short, you haven’t seen a war THE WAY THE U.S. C O U L D DO IT. And we will likely be back there in greater numbers soon.

      • He was a Canadian citizen who murdered a US citizen- he just happened to do so in a foreign country.

        • This took place inside a war zone, fighting a war started by the US government, and the dead man was a uniformed soldier for that US government. How is this murder? Were the Red Dawn kids murderers?

        • He was a Canadian citizen. Canada wasn’t at war with the US, therefore he committed murder via his criminal actions.

        • Hank. To comrade more dead soldiers Red Dawn was porn. Communist soldiers trampling all over Americans. Only time he gets hard is watching that movie.

        • “Holy shit. Red dawn was a fictional movie.”

You’ve never constructed a logical corollary to make an argument before?

          Don’t answer that, you obviously haven’t. 🙂

        • “Only time he gets hard is watching that movie.”

Now now, don’t project your jealous flaccidity onto your sexual betters. 🙂

        • “He was a Canadian citizen. Canada wasn’t at war with the US, therefore he committed murder via his criminal actions.”

          Whatever happened to free association?

The US is not officially at war with ISIS either and the YPG is designated a terrorist organization by the state department. Would you condemn foreign YPG volunteers?

        • Hey MDS (E.D.) the WORLD [UN] (but especially Kuwait) asked the U.S. to get Saddam out of Kuwait. We did that smartly while the rest of world pissed itself.

The U.S. was ready to go ‘downtown’ Baghdad and kill Saddam when the world AND ESPECIALLY THE POS EU, asked us not to CAUSE THEY WANTED TO DO AN ‘OIL FOR FOOD PROGRAM’. So we did a lot of hand wringing

          AND

          AN

          ARMISTICE

Gulf War I is STILL on our books as an open conflict.

We did the no-fly-zone (creating in its wake the nicest parts of Iraq Kurdish North and Saudi Border South) for 10 years THROUGH MOST OF WHICH BILL “fetch me an intern and another cup of grog” CLINTON DID FU<K-ALL, while the evil grafters and grifters of the EU armed up Saddam with the oil for food program, and Saddam was breaking the terms of the ARMISTICE d a i l y.

GW Bush got into office and Saddam kept up with his stupid [ARMISTICE breaking] SH_T and GW Bush prosecuted the remainder of the War (amongst the do-nothing but graft sh_t-asses of the World and the UN).

Tough Shit if you don't like it, that's the real fing deal.

      • You said the US gov’t is responsible for creating ISIS? No, you may want to read a history book. ISIS evolved out of the restructuring of the Middle East by the British and King Saud. They were permitted to evolve so Saud could consolidate his power and and sow chaos over competing States. Once the lines solidified they lay fallow until the civil war in Syria.

    • Cold North… It’s not fair or intelligent to label all people in a country by what the idiot politicians do sometimes. After all not all of us supported the Kenyan dictator that we were stuck with for 8 years. And he was the worst kind of socialist idiot.

  10. As the Washington Post of Canada, the Toronto Star is the most leftist newspaper in Canada and always has been. It should be called the Toronto Red Star.

    • DARPA field day.

Practice our multi-theater conflict resolution skills. We could do China for the S. China Sea thing, N. Korea just cause China likes them, E. Iran because we still owe their asses for 444 days in ’77. Then we’ll see if there are any other takers.

We’ve lost the PR battle, so we’re transitioning from “winning the peace” to just “winning”.

MEGA – Make Earth Great Again

  11. They have homes and families and histories. No matter their crimes, their lives are valuable in the sense that all lives are valuable, and deserving of at least some degree of respect.

??? Just because you have propagated, doesn’t mean you deserve respect. And yes, respect is earned. If it is not earned – why even have it at all? There is no purpose for all of us to have respect for each other. I encourage this author to actually stop and look up the definition of “respect.”

    • Actually he did get a measure of respect. The shooter gave him a quick death, much more respect than he deserved.

  12. To cover two matters, the following:

    1. DAESH is an acronym, which is apparently not common in Arabic. The acronym is nearly identical to the Arabic word “dais,” meaning something that crushes or tramples. It is not a complimentary term for ISIS/ISIL, not one they want anyone to use (indeed, they will kill someone they find using DAESH).

    2. I have a calmer (but still not supportive) take on the newspaper article. Perhaps the Star is reminding that no one should ‘celebrate’ the killing of another human. Perhaps being regretful, but determined is a better attitude. However, unlike many, I did not read anywhere that the Star disapproved the actual removal of a bad guy, just the reaction of “joy” on some parts.

    • Modern humans rely on the written word to carry elements of history on to future generations (or future generations rely heavily on the previous ACURATE chronical-ing of historical events).

Oral history, however, is how you breed the necessary gumption in your fighting stock. Whatever successes can be gleaned from a conflict need to be reveled in and revered. THE OPPOSITE OF WHICH SHOULD ONLY BE ASSUMED TO BE AN ATTACK ON THE VERY SAME.

      F em

      • The problem with oral history is that it rapidly degenerates into tall tales and whitewashing. Give me the written word, or preferably, a photographic record.

Not long ago the Japanese were contemptible low lives with no regard for civilized values or human life. Same with the Germans.

That is, until we destroyed their way of life through sustained conflict and conquest which cost them millions of lives. Now we’re best buddies. That said, you’ll never catch me crying over Dresden or Hiroshima. They brought those tragedies on themselves.

Daesh will be a tougher nut to crack due to their fanatically conservative religion, and the fact that there is no central government to accept a surrender from. But we don’t have to murder all their children. Just the adults who bear arms against us, and their minions who aid and abet them, will be enough.

  13. Bullshit shouted from a crystal palace and virtue signalling. Someone should let the author know that we the people are well aware that they are full of crap and that we don’t in fact think they are a morally superior being.

I hope the Canadian Forces kill every ISIS scumbag they come across with zero mercy.

    • +++

JESUS said to “love your enemy” – Matthew 5:44

WEAKNESS IS PROVACATIVE, DON’T PROVOKE THEM.

  14. “…they are human beings. They have homes and families and histories. No matter their crimes, their lives are valuable in the sense that all lives are valuable, and deserving of at least some degree of respect.”

This is another easily identifiable problem I see with the SJW/Progressive ideology. It is a demonstrable fact that all human life is not equal (even within their own warped ideology). It’s the choices that humans make that bestows value and respect upon an individual life. The atrocities committed by these animals garners absolutely zero value and respect. The only thing ISIS “fighters” should garner is a hollow point to the throat (and even that is too good for them).

    • Christ taught that all lives, even those of the most vile sinners, have value. There is always the hope of redemption for a human soul, no matter how lost. Doesn’t mean that killing them isn’t the right thing to do in most circumstances, but I would hardly call that kind of fundamental respect for the work of the creator a “warped ideology,” though as the savior soon found out, it was a bit of a tough sell.

      • Technically, that value is only potential and contingent upon their redemption (i.e. life choices). Really, really dumb idea to base any kind of meaningful policy, especially secular political policy, but also spiritual policy, on what somebody thinks someone somewhere might maybe one day decide to do.

  15. Canada is beyond the most cucked place in the world. Just have all men surrender to slavery and the women willingly give themselves over to the Islamic conquerors.

  16. I have known quite a few journalists, having spent 3 years in Berkeley while my ex went through the graduate school of journalism there. I met several in different stages of their careers. Thing is, they never grow past what most of us saw in our highschool newspapers – the progressive girl led and insular group of propagandists. Sure there was that one Charles Bukowski wanna be but the others were all clones politically speaking. Happily my ex-wife got drunk and frighted Charlene Hunter Gault – that was great:-) Unfortunately Gault saw that I was not of the body (Landru and all) and shunned me from her presence pretty quick so I didn’t get to see it all.

  17. As long as the Canadian military is deployed you can invade the country with a stick with a frowny face on the end.

  18. You’re right, they had lives, lives with families and all that. Humanize them all you want but they’re still condemned as demons because of the actions they chose to pursue with their lives and they forfeit the value of said lives with those actions.

Damn Canada, what the hell is wrong with you?

  19. I celebrated that shot and I am not Canadian. Killing ISIS is not a judgment on the person killer or their religion – killing ISIS extremists is putting an end to their extremely damaging behavior. Every ISIS member killed prevents a number of rapes and murders.
    Cheers to the Canadian hogs!

  20. Lots of people bashing America’s hat here. So lets have a bit of a reality check. The Toronto Star defending DAESH fighters having lives with value kind of stupid. The Star isn’t the paper of record in Toronto, that’s the Globe and Mail. They are, in almost every way, complete excrement that should be wiped from the shoe of the world. Yes, their mom’s may have loved them, great, should have instilled a bit of the Canadian live and let live feeling, we’re all better off when one goes away, by whatever method.

But, the Canadian Forces are no joke, JTF2 and CSOR are serious folks, and every one I’ve met both on base in Canada and other locations are very good at what they do. In general, getting the MOD to move is time consuming, but once on the march, I’ve seen them by and large be very professional, similar to our SF type groups. The comportment of their line troops is closer to that of a bit more elite unit in the US. Much less dicking around than your typical 11B. The Australians tend to be a bit more on the live hard/play hard side, and we come down somewhere in between the two.

Societally, Canada is a very egalitarian culture. It’s generally pretty socially liberal to libertarian on the conservative side. They really don’t have a group that is directly comparable to the R’s in the US, they’re much more pragmatic. Take health care, they tried it our way, decided all of the issues that exist don’t help, and instituted a system where everyone gets basic care, and you buy a policy for plus care, to pay for it, yes taxes are higher. Singapore, one that’s always bandied about by R’s, is actually based on the Canadian system, Singapore is just a very insular city/state, so its not as complicated, plus their previous system was no system, so there was no transition, which is where people are going to get pissed off.

Taxes when compared to the US, including all funding for healthcare, much more proactive infrastructure spending, TODAY, is lower than our costs. Into our taxes you have to add, company paid premiums to compare per person costs, and we get killed, with lower to equal outcomes. They don’t run nearly the same deficit we do, so remember, we are spending roughly 33% more tax dollars than we take in, and it was worse 10 years ago. So to pay for what we have, we owe 33% more taxes, we’ve been borrowing from our children for 50 years. To be fiscally responsible, we need to choose whether we want X services for tax*4/3, or we want to cut, btw we can’t cut interest payments, so we get NO tax cut but get…debt services+(all service*2/3)=today’s tax rate, or cut even farther to actually pay off debt, then cut taxes. Cutting taxes with 20Trillion outstanding, earning interest, is not how you’d get your house out of debt, so people have to be realistic about what is possible, vs what is possible in fantasy land.

Plus, generally speaking, Canadian’s are damn friendly people, especially compared to the US, we run about a 60% bro/asshat rate, they’re probably down in the 10%. Plus, they want to argue about hockey, so it doesn’t affect me or my religion, College Football and the NFL.

So don’t bitch too much about Canada, over the last decade, they managed to not have a nearly fatal recession, by strictly regulating how risk is managed in banking, and have a very pleasant place in the world. Who hates Canadians? They have their own values vis a vis guns, the military, politics, but that’s their culture and they seem to make it work.

    • America doesn’t even have a “Republican Party culture” beyond the typical sportsteam fandom, if you think about it; it’s a very shaky partnership of about four or five factions that have, frankly, badly conflicting policy goals and philosophy. The Dems are no different, except that their collection of frenemies may each be placated by additional spending programs, whereas the fiscal conservative wing of the Republicans gets cranky when that trick is used to pay off the other groups like holy rollers and neocons.

  21. Life is full of choices. If you choose to do certain things or be certain things, well, you reneged on your dues as a human being so you get kicked off the planet. Daesh qualifies. Bye-bye!

  22. Holy smokes, Trudeau was out cucked! The Platonic Ideal of The Canadian has now been realized!

  23. ” they are human beings. They have homes and families and histories. No matter their crimes, their lives are valuable in the sense that all lives are valuable, and deserving of at least some degree of respect.”

And Hitler liked dogs and was a vegetarian. If somebody had a clear shot at that “paperhanging SOB” they could have saved the world millions of lives and billions of dollars. Some people just need killing.

    • Yup, and millions of them were communists (fascists being a mere subset of that group). There were a hundred more guys just like himself in line behind Hitler, ready to do every single thing he ever attempted (except perhaps the weird stuff with Eva Braun)

  24. Please tell me that this article is some kind of weird joke. That would be the only explanation for it’s…I was going to say sickness or derangement, but, that doesn’t quite capture the vileness of the person who wrote it. Give me some help here people. I’m trying to find a strong word to adequately describe this person.

  25. Here’s the facts of the matter. If it weren’t for rough and tough men (and women), willing to do violence on their behalf, all these snowflake liberals and progressives would be slaves to somebody right now. Someday, they may find that truth up close and personal. I don’t think they will like it when/if they do.

    • “to somebody”

Why would you leave out the most important part of your soundbite? To whom exactly? Does it matter which side these rough people fight for, or is it just a general truism? If it is the former, who would the slavers be in the recent wars fought by the US?

Come on, this is an important detail. 🙂

    • “Someday, they may find that truth up close and personal. I don’t think they will like it when/if they do.”

Of course not. It will be the fault of Republicans, conservatives, and the alt-right for making the situation so bad, that violence was the only remaining means of expressing displeasure.

    • Here’s the REAL facts of the matter. If it weren’t for rough and tough men (and women), willing to do violence on their behalf, all these snowflake liberals and progressives would be drafted into the armed forces and whipped into rough and tough men (and women) willing to do violence on their OWN behalf. All it takes is a few months of verbal abuse and physical training, and the weakest pacifist can be magically transformed into a ruthless and efficient killer.

The same effect can be obtained by brutal oppression. If the volunteer army EVER tries to impose it’s will on the rest of the people by force, they will rapidly find out just how dangerous those innocent little snowflakes can be once they are cornered.

      • “willing to do violence on their OWN behalf.”

        FTFY: the government’s behalf.

As I recall the last draftee war fought by the US government resulted in mass desertions, open sedition, and fragging. Good stuff. 🙂

  26. So was this shot ever independently verified, or explained in greater detail? Last I heard, the math & odds underpinning this feat were somewhere between astronomical and impossible, and that isn’t accounting for the fact that the equipment described as in use was wholly incapable of even that attempt (like, a scope hold so far above the target it could no longer be seen, even with a long range sight riser, or a 50BMG rifle that barely does 2MOA on a good day hitting .04MOA)

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and this shot was like 50% longer than the previous record, despite there being quite a lot of sniper activity around the globe these days using similar/identical gear and tactics. Doesn’t pass the math, statistical, or logic sniff tests from what I understand.

    • >>50BMG rifle that barely does 2MOA

You do understand that your claim is also worthless until credible desciption of gear and shooting scenario is presented (which, AFAIK, never happened to satisfactory degree)?

  27. I wonder how some people manage to complain about being pigeonholed, yet act as if they dearly wish it to happen.

We are not “leftist” (I hate this obsolete classification) reality-detached bigots! But we WILL preach about humanity of war criminals!
We are not “right” (ditto) bigots! It is just we cannot contain our insecurity and bleat about goddamn homos!

It goes on, and on, and on. There is probably nothing wrong with that, except the picture voids any claim that humans managed to rise above “we-us-grab sticks and pound’em” survival mode.

  28. You have to remember that it was the Canadian left in the late ’80s and early ’90s who were condemning the bombing of… NAZI GERMANY.

They (and the effete left in general) have a sort of homoerotic, sado-masochistic adoration of the worst atavistic beasts walking the planet on two legs.

When a normal person (including gay people) looks at a photo of a Stormtrooper beating a Jew, or a member of the SS Einsatzgruppen standing, rifle in hand, at a pit full of corpses, or a member of ISIS beheading a victim with a rusty bread knife or burning children to death, they experience an intense feeling of disgust. When a member of the effete left sees these things, he experiences an intense sense of arousal. He sees someone actually DOING the things about which he only fantasizes and is entranced.

The only ambivalence the effete left ever experiences is over whether they prefer the sting of the lash or the feel of the handle in their hands…

  29. Killing is bad, bad, bad. Bad. Unless, of course, it’s an unborn child. Then killing is OK! I wonder if their liberal heads would explode if a sniper killed an unborn child by shooting its mother. Would that be good or bad?

  30. I’m not going to engage in a political argument, I just want to give a shout out to the PPCLI, I served in Bosnia with them in Bosnia and Maj. Ian Hope. They were as professional a group of soldiers I have ever worked with. I should also include the Czech Airborne and of course the US Troops, especially the Special Forces group of Joint Commission Advisers that I also worked with for the last 4 months of my tour. These were truly rough men ready to commit violence on the behalf of others. It was my honor to serve with them all.

    • Thank you for your service Sergent. I was aboard the USS Hanna when we were hit by North Korean shore batteries in ’52. I’ve got a special place on my left testicle reserved for Mr. Un to kiss, when Trump brings him to me!

  31. Allahu Akbar! DO you know what that means? It means “God’s will be done”.

It is what they say every time an enemy gets killed. It also is what they say every time they blow themselves to bits.
Think about that and watch this video:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7wsZo6jVgA

Yes Allahu Akbar! God’s will was done and with an amazing shot by a man paid to do such things. It is not just an adventure IT IS A JOB! The pay sucks too.

  32. Yeah Canadian Liberals! isnt is so cruel and unfair to kill Combatants known for using suicide bombing techniques at enormous distances? We can at least get close enough to give them a slightly more fair fight right!?

  33. If you’re going to shoot someone long distance make sure its some asshat that’s trying to kill you, probably with a cell phone and an IED
