In the video below, Kalashnikov demonstrates a gun turret that uses a “machine learning algorithm” to identify potential targets. “Then, understanding it is a potential target, the neural network can make a decision on how to act,” Deputy General Director for Marketing and Sales Vladimir Dmitriev asserted at the ARMY-2017 International Military-Technical Forum at Patriot Park, Moscow. In other words . . .

The system can ID and shoot targets without any human intervention. To be clear, “the turret can be operated remotely by a human or independently.” How great is that?

  1. “Kalashnikov ‘Smart Turret’ Brings Skynet One Step Closer”

I’m not as worried about ‘Skynet’, I’m more concerned with ‘ED-209’.

“You have 15 seconds to comply.”

    (Poor Mr. Kinney…)

  2. but yet when our military debuted the laser GUIDED .50 cal round, that was fine? oh right because our government is our friend, the entire point in this site. not to mention our unmaned bombers, stealth bombers and helicopters. thats all fine, cuz we did it. yep im sure that wont be used against the US citizens if it came down to it. Nah.

  3. An order to move under covering fire from this thing? Sorry, sarge, but since me knows a thing or two about software development in Motherland, I’m shitting my pants right now.

  4. Recently, Elon Musk made the statement that robots utilizing Artificial Intelligence was a catastrophe in the making for the Human Race. I believe that this is the type of thing that he was talking about. Just because something “can” be made, doesn’t mean it “should” be made.

    • Meh, Musk is a business genius but an idiot on 2a or other fundamental rights in America. He is far left and believes we should be controlled.

      • Musk is nothing more than a high dollar welfare pimp. And why is the US Govt giving handouts to naturalized citizen who apparently illegally retains multiple citzenships?

  5. Obviously a front offoce idea to cut manpower made by someone who never squeezed a trigger. It does circumvent that pesky ccw permit issue though. Can these be licensed as service robots for the impaired?
