I know: we’ve asked that question before. And many of those fugly nominees make this weapon look like Cintia Dicker (no “I just met her” jokes please). But still . . . So, if you haven’t turned to stone yet, you’re looking at gunsamerica.com‘s build of “the Juggernaut Rogue M1A Bullpup stock from US Tactical Supply.” Its genesis: “We started with an out of the box Springfield Armory SOCOM and ended up with this very sophisticated and sexy as hell bullpup monster that shoots better and is easier to handle. On top is an armored UTG 3-12 with illuminated reticle and an NC Star foregrip.” Not in my gun safe you don’t. Agreed?

  1. Looks like it was designed and prototyped in a junior high shop class. Pass the sheet-metal rivets, please.

  2. If it passed quality standards – a long test period during which I operated it without issues and found that it fit me well – I’d take it no problem.

    Would I pay a premium for the work? Nope… but I care far, far more about function than form. (Not sure this gun has either, though.) Give me a couple dozen Hi-Points and I’ll take ’em, if for no other reason than to have a bare-bones, reliable set of tools for the Zombocalypse. (Not for my primary use, of course… I’d keep ’em as backups, chips to be bartered, or, most likely, loaners for family/allies.)

    • No editing, I guess… but to answer the article’s question: Nope, not at all. I’ve seen far worse, at least in the conceptual stage.

  9. Anytime I see NC Star and UTG listed as manufacturers, I immediately run the other way.

    Never had a product of theirs that worked as advertised for longer than a week.

    • 1. Why desecrate a perfectly good rifle? The M14 may not have been a good choice as a full-auto battle rifle, but an M1A is a beautiful and effective weapon. The monstrosity shown here looks like the bastard halfbreed of a Garand and a Transformers refrigerator. And it probably weighs 12 or 13 pounds.

      2. Who would put a $75 (or less) scope on top of a rifle/bullpup package that costs nearly $1,500?

      3. How the hell do you get the magazine out of it?

      • From the pictures on their site, it appears to me like you’d have to operate the original mag release by sticking a digit up inside the cavity, behind the magazine, that’s created by the stock shrouding the OE trigger. I see nothing that indicates an extension or connector to get you there any other way.

    I’ll make the same comment about this that I make about Glocks, if it saves my ass when I need it to, it’s the most beautiful thing in the world.

  17. Surely doesn’t look like an improvement over the M1A. More like those cannibalized toys created by the evil neighbor kid in in the very first Toy Story. That said, I’d give it a try, and if it worked, I’d find room for it.

  19. It is sorta cute in an Aliens, meets doom sort of way. I live in CA so I couldn’t own it even if I wanted to, which I don’t.
    I would rather have a Tavor, which are actually comfortable ergonomically to shoot.
    Mikey who used to run the sniper school in Jerusalem I think now dose future weapons designs and had a large bit of work with the Tavor.

  21. Love the look of it. The scope is a bit much for my taste though and I would have a different fore grip.

  25. An M1A in a bullpup stock… so, it’s an RFB that works?

    I’m obviously in the minority here but I like bullpups and I like ugly guns. Something about a spartan, no nonsense, ugly ass gun (and cars too actually) just says to me “…and I’m all outa bubble gum.”

    Glock, Mil-Spec 1911A1, Steyr AUG, Kel Tec RFB, *Looks around, leans in and whispers* Hi Point Carbines 🙂

    But, that’s just me.

    BTW, I’m generally against giving any attention to Juggernaut Tactical’s Rogue chassis since it is a direct rip off of another design (Bulldog 762). The sad thing is that they might get a patent for it since the original designer apparently did not apply for one until after the patent laws were changed (invalidating the “poor man’s patent” method of IP protection) and put the original out of business.

    Answer: If it’s not the world’s ugliest gun, it’s in the top 5.

    Also, I agree with Leo Atrox… the folks at JTach are not the most ethical people when it comes to doing business. Buyer Beware!!!!
