Those of you keeping score at home, get out your No. 2 pencils. Shirtless wanna-be white rapper? Check. Flat-billed cocked baseball cap? Right. Totally street ink? Fer sher. Unintelligible (other than the cursing) lyrics? Yep. Casually waved nickel plated nine? Uh huh. Add that all up using the current cultural calculus and you come up with…hold on…carry the seven…got it — insufferable douchebag. While it looks genuine enough, according to theblaze.com, there’s some debate as to whether it’s real or Memorex. If it actually happened, we hope he didn’t plug his mommy through the wall in the next room. And if Mr. All Laws will send us his address ([email protected]), we’ll be more than happy to send him the IGOTD trophy he so richly deserves.   [h/t DrVino]

    • Fake (blank-firing weapon). Not enough recoil effect(s). There is a significant difference in recoil force between blanks and live ammo, and it usually cannot be disguised by a tight grip or other means. The frame of the pistol barely moved when it fired, despite the handgun being held in an awkward position, with the elbow completely unlocked.

      • I agree.

During NDs people jump, mainly because they don’t expect it but also because they ain’t in a position to handle the recoil properly.

You can see how much he was moved, not because of the “harsh” recoil of 7.62×39 but because he was relaxed and wasn’t expecting it.

  1. Blank-firing piece or not, he’s still an idiot.

Don’t put your booger-hook on the bang switch unless and until you’re ready to destroy what you’re aiming at.

  2. Not sure if it’s fake or not, but all I can say is that it looks like the casing wasn’t ejected with much authority.

  3. Blanks.
    2 Reasons to conclude this:
1: watch his hand at the end of the video. He visible tightens up his grip and then pulls the trigger. It’s not just a light brush either, you can see the trigger travel before the gun goes off.
2: The video is cut off too soon. He should have a flinch response and in these videos the flinch response usually gets more hits than the ND. So if he cut out his flinch response (which would increase hits), and he wants to increase hits (why else post the video), the best logical conclusion is that there was no flinch response.

  4. Another way to tell it is a blank-firing replica is by closely examining the pistol. If you freeze-frame at different spots, it is obviously missing the extractor and extractor cut which should be clearly visible on the right side of the slide, near the barrel hood. Also, the vast majority of nickel-plated, chrome-plated, or stainless-steel Beretta-style center-fire pistols will have a blue/black rear sight; the blank-firing replicas will have the rear sight plated to match the slide (as does the one in the video).

      • Well, THAT was a little bit embarrassing.

Good catch and thanks for the correction, Nassion; while my experience with handguns runs fairly deep, my personal experience in the area of mirror-produced selfies is zilch.

At least my point about the plated rear sight still stands…

  5. Another indication of a blank gun is the fact that the flash looks like it’s coming from the top of the gun. I’ve used many a gun like that in stage productions over the years.

  6. That was some excellent writing! I LOL’d when after a suspenseful buildup and the carrying of the 7, the formula equaled Insufferable Douchebag. I don’t know what I was expecting, but I didn’t expect that. But hey, you can’t argue with math. Good stuff. This is one of the greatest web sites ever.
