When it comes to gun control meme generation, Moms Demand Action for Guns Sense in America (a wholly owned subsidiary of Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Illegal Guns) is number one with a bullet. Luckily enough (for gun rights advocates), Shannon Watts’ mob has anti-gun agitprop ADD; their shotgun approach to rabble-rousing ensures that no one message finds its target. Perhaps that’s why the ex-Monsanto media maven’s memes are getting memer. I mean, meaner. In fact, I’m surprised the coffin isn’t child-sized. Funnily enough (I suppose), a gun rights guy familiar with our It Should Have Been A DGU feature could simply change the header to read . . .

SHOCK AT DAILY TOLL OF GUN CONTROL LAWS. Which reminds me: are you familiar with the Russian propaganda poster style of art?

Given the pro-gun control crowd’s statist ambitions, I’d really like to see some anti-anti-gun agitprop using these images. In other words, make fun of the antis by creating a poster for them. Submit your [Zhivago] doctored image to [email protected] with the word DA! (all caps) in the subject field. The winner – chosen by Dan the Man Zimmerman – gets a brick (500 rounds) of Thunderbolt .22LR.

    • Wrong. You may not have heard of them, but they are at every public hearing about every state gun law, and they are getting a lot of play due to their big money enablers. The only reason you don’t hear more about them is that the Dems want Bloomberg to STFU until after November, when it will be balls to the wall.

You can’t make them go away by sticking your fingers in your ears and wishing them bye-bye. Wake up.

    • You’d be surprised. They make the news more the closer you get to Indy (ground zero). Up in Michigan this is the only place I’d heard of them. Now in Dayton they’re on the local news once a month.

    • Their traveling circus came to Annapolis to help stop the unchecked spread of Constitutional law last year. The rest is history in the Formerly Free State.

Watch for them to pop up in Virginia after November.

    • Yep, you are very wrong, Jeremy.

Here’s the bigger picture you are missing.

MDA is very active on “social media” and they have “Mom” in their name. That means when someone notices them for the first time, they well may do a quick Google search to learn more about them.

Now, if TTAG posts MDA’s shenanigans with good analysis in the article and good comments, THAT’s what these fence sitters will see. They’ll MDA’s crapola AND our side…and which is more reasoned?

And, one other thing…if you don’t like TTAG’s articles on MDA…don’t read em. Seems commenting to tell RF how to run his web site is a bit of a fool’s errand.

    • I won’t get over these losers. Their lot is responsible for “gun free school zones”. Every day I send my kids to schools without any real security of any kind. Sure they all have cameras and door locks, but none of that is any match for a lunatic with a knife or a gun.

I hold groups like MDA responsible for all the carnage that occurs in schools so long as they stand in the way of real armed security in every school in America.

Our kids deserve a trained, armed, security guard in every school, as much as they deserve well trained teachers and well equipped schools.

  1. Maybe RF loves to pick on them because they make it so easy. Their desperation just gets more pathetic by the day.

And that casket looks like it was made from leftover pieces of Wal*Mart furniture. Please, just cremate me, put my ashes in an empty ammo box, and call it a day.

  2. Hey MDA, demand action against big pharmacy and those who promote drugs to keep boys from being boys. Read the side effects of these drugs. They create monsters(mass shooters). I grew up without such meds and as result I feel no need to harm anyone or do any wrong when carrying, even when angry.. Also dear moms, ask yourself what do these mass shootings have in common besides guns. The answer: Gun free zone, or No Guns allowed.

  3. SHOCK AT DAILY TOLL OF GUN LOBBY CONTROLLING PUBLIC POLICY

What does that mean? That the casket represents the shock? Gramatically and syntactically, it makes no sense.

  4. Remember, the antis argument is based on emotionalism. They have to use emotion to override one’s logic. MDA is best designed to do that by hiding behind the moniker of “caring moms”. How can you disagree with a loving mom sort of crap. MAAG……., er, MAIG, most politicians aren’t sympathetic figures. Neither are straight political animals like the Brady Campaign or the center to stop gun violence, that’s why MDA needs to be exposed for who the really are, not “caring moms”, more like totalitarian control freaks.

  5. Winner gets a brick of 22LR Thunderbolt? Does the runner-up get two bricks?

That Bloomberg image doesn’t read well at all. Glad to see them wasting money on bad art direction.

  6. Judging by the presence of only 4 pall-bearers and the particulars of perspective, I’d say that WAS and child-sized coffin. A cheap one at that.

  7. I like the Russian poster from last week. Don’t underestimate the reach of these hags. They were prominently mentioned the other week in a gun billboard they claimed to have taken down in Chicago.

  8. MDA gets all kinds of attention from the media, without regard to their seeming inability to put more than five people together for a meeting/protest/group-therapy session.

Just as one example, MDA was listed prominently in the Legislative Gazette article linked here earlier today, in the New York state gun control post.

Though they may have almost no membership, they are out there, ceaselessly peddling their pablum to a media that is hungry for a certain type of content. The media is not going to be asking any hard questions, or painting them in anything other than a flattering light.

What I can’t figure out is why TTAG isn’t on the first page of Google search results for MDA…must be that each individual post doesn’t pull enough activity to jump up in the rankings?

  9. One of the biggest problems in this very real fight for our Constitutional rights, at least as I see it, is that all the Gun Grabbers are playing 2 minute offense while all the rest of us, for the most part, are playing defense, which basically amounts to a losing game of whack-a-mole.

My point is that you don’t win battles with just defense; we need to start playing offense.

    • Playing offense? If you mean that we should be pushing for pro-gun laws like the ones that are passing in every free or nearly-free state, yeah, we should do that.

      • No, Son. I’m talking about the marketing offense they constantly run. All we ever do is counter.
        Make sense?

  10. For years gun owners were silent. The Brady act, The “Assault” weapons ban, and other gun control trash flew through congress.
Now we are a huge voice that DC fears. We vote…..and this is our issue. Press the fight Robert!

  11. “In fact, I’m surprised the coffin isn’t child-sized.”

It IS child-sized. Also notice that there are only 4 pall bearers, which is a sign that the coffin has a child’s weight in it.

Just another repetition of MDA’s “for the children” meme.
