“Which brings us back to gun control, something countless liberal pundits and Democratic congresspeople are breathlessly demanding right now. How on earth could anyone believe both that Trump is a fascist and that it’s a good idea for a federal government he runs to take guns away from law-abiding citizens? If Trump is a budding Mussolini—let alone something worse—then you shouldn’t want to give him the power required to wage a war on guns. Keep in mind . . .

that many gun owners are people of color, who would be (and frequently have been) disproportionately affected by enforcement of new gun laws. Indeed, if Trump wanted to further damage immigrants and communities of color, eroding their rights and jailing their men, he could find no more powerful tool than a license to confiscate guns.” – Robby Soave in If You Think Trump Is a Fascist, You Should Oppose Gun Control [via reason.com]

  1. Precisely. The same people marching in BLM protests who believe the police are racist murderers… also believe that the police are the only ones capable and trustworthy enough to have guns.

The term cognitive dissonance gets thrown around a lot these days, but that right there is a genuine example.

  2. The people calling for gun control are the fascists. If Trump calls for gun control they will readily accept him into their ranks.

If he does not, then we will have been right in electing him. If we were wrong……..

  3. If the average leftist was logical and consistent, they would have a very hard time remaining an anti-gun leftist.

    • They are very consistent. It’s just that what they really want is not what they say they want at any given time. The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the [Marxist] revolution.

Though it’s peeking out more and more. These days they’ll actually say “capitalism is ruining the environment” or “capitalism is racism,” etc. BLM, ANTIFA, earth day, global warming march, whatever, revcom and similar groups are there in force, and have often printed the signs for them.

    • I have come to the conclusion that all leftists were born deformed – without the ability to think logically and with out any common sense. We can only hope that researchers will some day find a cure for their genetic disabilities.

      • Leftist’s aren’t born that way. They’re indoctrinated. The logic and common sense is there when they’re young, but it’s beaten out of them in public schools and universities.

      • Behavior is lawful and orderly (i.e., it functions as a reinforcer or punisher.)

All behavior is a byproduct of genetics, environment, verbal community (society), and an organisms own unique history and preferences.

To discount one and solely subscribe to another is out of laziness or bias.

Whether we choice to except it or not, a person’s behavior functions (has purpose) for them. Just because you don’t see or understand it, doesn’t mean it’s not there.

  4. The gun grabber ideology is just a bunch of talking points, not a logical and reasoned consensus based on evidence and realities.

I think any of us, including myself, who have had any form of dialogue with the average gun grabber can conclude this.

I am actually somewhat happy, for lack of better word, that the ANTIFA (though I’m have not seen any compeling evidence the shooting was directly related to them) folks are acting as they are right now.

They are helping left the veil we gun folks knew was already there.

  5. I’ve never seen so much anti gun rhetoric.
Is it only a matter of time elections or mass shootings before we go the way of Australia?

    • I don’t know. But I don’t think they will ever relent. And while those who support individual civil rights have to win every time, the collectivist authoritarians only have to win once. If we silence them by force, we become what they are. It sucks. I have no good answers.

    • Well then you might as well turn them all in now. As a friend and steward of the cause, I volunteer to take them off your hands FOC.

I wouldn’t want you to have to bear the burden of such an event.

    • A mandatory buyback like in Australia is not unrealistic given enough mass shootings. Our rates of compliance will be a fraction however. Something like 1% compliance. The assplosions after only 80,000 mostly-inoperable ARs are voluntarily sold back to the feds will be comical.

    • That depends on how many fair weather patriots are among our ranks.
At my age, and level of zeal for the Constitution, given an Australian style law, I will kill and be killed before going to jail for non compliance.
The United States is the last hope for a free world and I and my brothers are the last hope for a free U.S.

  6. Radical Progressive shoots up concert full of Trump supporters. Progressives like Jimmy Kimmell then blame Trump supporters saying it is their fault. Heads better start calming down or things are going to get out of control.

    • Radical leftist shooter? I put that at #2 on my probability list when I heard someone shot up a country music festival. But I’ve seen no solid evidence that the shooter was a leftist yet. A couple of web sites have claimed that, citing unnamed sources. But the web sites in question have a history of publishing false stories. What have you seen?

      • This one really is an odd duck, isn’t it? He doesn’t seem to fit the profile, or even any major element of it.

The girlfriend fleeing the country and his wiring $100K to the Philippines beforehand all look suspicious. Other than that, all I can guess is that maybe he embezzled money during his accounting career abd was about to get caught, or maybe his gambling finally got out of control and he owed big money to bad people.

All just speculation on my part, as I haven’t seen any solid evidence pointing to either theory. Either way, why that should manifest as a spree shooting, as opposed to just suicide or going on the lam, is a mystery to me.

        • Agree, very odd and the only clear thing is that he planned it out carefully and in advance. Politically motivated mass murder is often accompanied by a manifesto or at least a written statement. If that exists, it’s being kept very quiet.

      • This is why my bet is still on a registered Democrat conducting a reprisal action on Trump voters. If you look at the timelines, he started buying the guns about a year ago which was when the election was on.

And why so many guns? In reality 2 or 3 at most would be enough so why 20? To make a statement? Also fitting many of the guns with slide-fire stocks. And the other preparations including filming himself and the camera watching the hallway. This is not a spontaneous act. This is deliberate pre-meditation.

While this is craxy to us, to Paddock this was rational behaviour.

        • True, though full blown paranoid schizophrenics can be very rational within the boundaries of their delusions. Maybe he was convinced they were all pod people. Need more info.

  7. WHATEVER…signs of the endtimes. We’re there. Just saw Pat Robertson claim the shooter was on powerful anti-depressents. Combine that with family history(insane evil bank robber dad) and a leftard outlook and you get the devil. Trump turning on us makes him a very short one term wondee. You can have my guns from YOUR cold dead hands…

  8. It’s kind of ironic that the people screaming about gun control are from the party that runs the show in most of the “gun violence” prone areas.

  9. Don’t confuse the Left? Hiw about nor confusing the right???!!!

When asked by reporters aboard Air Force One about whether he was open to a discussion on gun control, the Trump said, “at some point perhaps that will come. That’s not today.” Uh huh. Dealmaker-in-Chief sounds like he’s ready to snuggle up with his liberal buddies Schumer and Pelosi again, anything to make a deal.

Then you have Danny Tarkanian, GOP Senate candidate in Nevada taking on GOP Senator Heller in the primary. On Monday, he schooled MSNBC’s Chris Hayes on the futility of more federal gun laws. By Tuesday, he had backpedalled. The “strong supporter of Trump” (I believe it!) was back ar MSNBC, this time with Craig Melvin, promising to consider gun control legislation if elected:

“Yeah [I will do something about gun control]. I will go there and try to find whatever best solution we can, gun control or otherwise.” Tge paid some lip service to the Constitution, which ge obviously doesn’t respect, given his flip flopping on infringement.

There’s your GOP, folks, led by Trump. Told ya so!

    • How do you know Trump got to him? It seems much more likely the GOP establishment or some inside the beltway political consultant/campaign adviser who thinks moderating his tone on guns will help his election chances got to him. He is in NV after all.

  10. Totally makes sense to anyone who appreciates freedom, and know what it is in terms for responsibilities, cost and risks. Liberal progressives are all about emotions, entitlement and abuse.

    • _We_ would get off easy?! I’m pissed as hell! Progressives have been fanning the rhetoric which allowed the jack*ss to exist and _we_ have to suffer for it? How about we instead declare antifa a terrorist organization, freeze and confiscate all the assets of these media Progressives that are supporting them and give it to the victims?

    • I would laugh if that’s all they’re able to do, and at this point that seems the most likely scenario, if any. Someone will just come out with something very similar that does the exact same thing and is able to skirt right around the ban scott-free, and we can stick that in their eye. Odds are good that nothing will happen, though, just like after Sandy Hook.
