Gersh Kuntzman is getting quite a bit of attention lately. TTAG immortalized the anti-gunner in the article The Dumbest “I Shot an Assault Rifle!” Article in the History of the World Ever. After that debacle, which The People of the Gun made viral, The New York Daily News journalist decided to pen a second article in which he claims gun control is a gender issue because of the names he was called after admitting an AR-15 “bruised his shoulder.” Kuntzman’s original article says:

The recoil bruised my shoulder, which can happen if you don’t know what you’re doing. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick. The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary form of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable.

After being called out by the pro-gun community for his obvious over exaggeration of the recoil on an AR-15, he wrote another article. The thin-skinned liberal had a hard time being criticized for his writings. Perhaps it’s time he chose another profession. His newest article — To gun lovers, you can’t even have an opinion on assault rifles — unless it’s theirs. Here’s the proof — is Kuntzman complaining about the gun community calling him out. He starts by making it a gender issue: “The gun debate is also a gender war.” (Try not to “lol”.)

As a female gun owner who has built my share of AR-15s, and bought a few, let me say something about Kuntzman…

Making this a gender issue is probably not a good idea. I am not the only woman that could fire an AR-15 all day and not end up with a sore shoulder. I have many female friends that are tougher than Kuntzman. He had the opportunity to learn something about a rifle he still knows little about, and instead of doing so, he found an anti-gun gun store owner who patted his metaphorical backside and told him exactly what he wanted to hear. Now he’s upset that men called him a “pussy.”

IMG_20160318_111041-593x900

Well, I’m a woman, and while I won’t use that term, I would agree that Kuntzman is a bit of a whiner.  Don’t make this a gender issue, Kuntzman.  Because I can shoot an AR-15 without getting disoriented and sick or giving myself PTSD. I can also write an article (as I’m doing now) with the understanding that I will most likely get at least some that disagree or have something in the form of an ad hominem attack to sling my way.  It’s the nature of the beast.

Yes, I’m a wimp. I simpered because my experience with the AR-15 bruised me, body and spirit. – Kuntzman

Say what you want, but don’t drag me and all other gun owning women down. We know more about the AR-15 than you ever will, and claiming this is a gender issue just shows how thin-skinned and ignorant you actually are. Don’t deflect blame to gender. And thanks for admitting what we already knew.

  1. It is a gender issue. Kunt-Man is a whiny crybaby 5 year old girl trapped in the wrong body.

No insult to pre school girls meant here, at least the majority who aren’t whiny crybabies. We all know Sara’s eldest is already more of an adult than the Kunt-man will ever be.

  2. PJ Media is reporting the gun-store owner has published a Facebook post saying he was misrepresented in the story: https://pjmedia.com/trending/2016/06/16/ny-daily-news-writer-misrepresents-his-visit-to-gun-shop/2/

“To our knowledge we did not know that Mr. Kuntzman would completely turn things around and make our establishment look like one of anti-gun advocates. …
I can assure everyone that we do not support mental health screenings like they do in Europe and we don’t think that government officials should take away guns from people as it was portrayed in the article.”

    • I’ve actually been to that range and talked with the shop owner although ultimately I chose a different range in Philadelphia that was closer.

I think the owner was Polish. I don’t know if he had been a police officer in Poland or not but I know initially he bought the Range because he was going to use it to start a metal recycling business. I think he just bought the Range because it was a large building and Zoning allowd that kind of industrial work.

People who didn’t know that the Range had changed owners where coming in expecting to shoot and being turned away.

So the guy decided to reopen the range instead.

He seemed like a nice enough guy. I think he was trying to make his range a sort of destination range – he had an entire upstairs that he used for bachelor and bachelorette parties. So it doesn’t surprise me if he really did have a Class 3 M-16 for rent in full auto since that would have been a popular rental for parties.

      • I stand by my hope that the owner handed him a MK1919 12-gauge and told him it was .223, they do look AR-scary and if you have no experience… lol. That would actually explain bruised shoulders on a puffer like kuntzman

        • Kunt man is really a super weenie boy. I’m betting he’s still living at home with mommy. She’s probably making him write these articles. If you’re a gun pussy just say so and stay away for hot metal. people like this get to vote and that scares the hell out of me. It’s people like Kunt man that make he have a carry permit.

  3. Hell, gun control really is a gender issue, in that, if you favor gun control, you also favor removing the best equalizer of force ever invented from the hands of women who would use it to prevent men (who are usually larger, stronger, and have more upper body strength) from harming them. So yeah. Gun control = misogyny. Take that SJWs!

    • I had never heard of SJW before. I had to look it up. In the Antipodes (Oz/NZ) we just call an overly entitled opinionated idiot a “cunt”. This applies male or female. Otherwise known as a “walking talking arsehole”, or someone so far up themselves they can’t see daylight. The ability to expound on any subject without the remotest level of expertise is a cornerstone of democracy. It also explains why true democracy doesn’t actually exist anywhere, because most people are morons. The lack of jobs for overeducated underinformed twenty somethings suffering an extended adolescence, seems to be the main factor here, along with ready access to computers. In the real world, people like this would ordinarily be browbeaten by editors or office bosses, so their inflated egos would take the necessary hammering. Or they would be having children and would have no time for this nonsense.

    • Yup, it is a gender issue. God made people…Sam Colt made them equal. Women should have the choice to defend themselves with firearms because it is their God given right, and it gives them an edge they wouldn’t otherwise have. As for Kuntzman…well, just make sure that piss-winky, New York wuss-boy stays far, far away from my fighting hole.. Oh, Gersh? Since you’re not using that weapon, can I have it and put it to good use, since you’re too much of a pussy to deal? I’m sure it’s in good shape since it’s only been fired and dropped once…

  4. “…you can’t even have an opinion on assault rifles…”

It was not an opinion. The author went into this bearing his fear and loathing, with his conclusions already drawn. That he actually shot the rifle was so he could say he ‘tried it out’, and ‘it was evil’.

aka: See I told you so.

Conclusions before experimentation is not the scientific method. But modern “journalists” wouldn’t understand that. Everything they publish is a position piece with an agenda.

  5. Love your article, like all your work, and Kuntzman could not have better embodied his name than he already has.

My stomach hurts from laughing so hard at his bruising and mental scarring from firing one of the lightest recoil impulse firearms available. Thank you!

  6. Gosh Gersh, I must have missed that story you wrote. I don’t want to spend time conjuring up clever witty comments as I can leave that to Sara. I prefer to keep it short and sweet and just point out that to most American males, you’re an embarrassment.

  7. Oh, please, Kuntzman, just give up whike you are behind.

Earlier today, my 11yo son was laughing at the stupidity of your claim that that rifle bruised you and caused ptsd.

Just stop. We were critical of you because you had an opinion. We criticized you because your claims were stupid and intended only to manipulate.

  8. The worst part is the appeal. Who does he normally appeal to enough to warrant helping him do what he does for a living. I think it’s very telling. It’s like the evil (D) and libs everywhere. It’s not just the lib trash in-office, it’s all the worse than worthless lib trash that voted them in.

    • Rush Limbaugh opined that (paraphrased) “This country is strong enough to survive 8 years of Barrack Obama, but I’m not sure it can survive an electorate that voted for him twice.”

  9. If he thinks that the recoil from an AR is too much to bear I wonder what he would feel like after a few rounds from my 300 Win Mag bolt gun?

    • I’ll let him shoot my medium bore .416 Rigby.
Or better yet the .470 double. That recoil should put him in a coma

      • I recently referred to the 416 Ruger, which I enjoy greatly, as a middle bore around a group of people more familiar with ARs. They thought I was crazy. Nope. That’s a medium bore rifle. It’s difficult for some people to wrap their minds around the concept that the .308Win is not a large caliber. It’s great there are so many new shooters. But it’s also difficult to level set with them sometimes.

      • That there was funny Peirsonb. I am going to have to look you up the next time I am your neck of the woods. Where is your neck of the woods?

        • Good to know. If I am ever up in Michigan (on the left side south of U.S. 10), I’ll stand alongside the nearest interstate with a big “piersonb” sign. Should I stand on the shoulder of the northbound lanes or southbound lanes?

(In case it was not clear from the text, I am kidding about standing out with a sign along the interstate.)

      • Peirsonb, Just a shout out from another troll, i.e., I too live under the bridge. Somewhat in the middle part of the west side, but grew up all around your neck of the woods.

  10. ‘Kuntz’man. Can’t make this stuff up.

If he thinks a .223 is bad, I’d love to see what he thinks about a .30-06 or .308 smacking his delicate shoulder. I bet he’d even whine about a 20 gauge.

    • In basic training in 1970, The instructor at the range in our first session placed an M16 on his crotch and fired a mag on full auto. He did not fall to the ground clutching his privates, or interrupt his lecture in any way. The libs have no shame.

      • The cartridge the AR fires is the weakest ever issued to front line troops. The only weaker rifle cartridge ever issued was issued during WWII and was intended for troops that would normally have been issued to personnel who would normally get a pistol.

        • Um, I would have to think that .30 Carbine is even weaker than .223 Winchester. Did “front line” troops ever get .30 Carbine?

  11. I don’t think he’s really this much of a pussy. I think he exaggerated on purpose to try swaying ignorant people to the anti-gun side.

    • This. So much this.

It’s not about whether or not he’s a puss/ wimp/ whatever. That *would* be an opinion.

This is about him saying he was bruised. That’s not an opinion, that’s a fact. It’s either true or a lie.

Now, everyone who thinks he was bruised and for some reason didn’t take a picture of this bruise to run alongside the article raise your hands.

      Yeah. Me neither.

    • I have a problem with calling him a pussy because I love the stuff and it deserves a place of honor.

OTOH, I’m perfectly fine with calling him a Kuntz for shorthand.

    • @asdf
That is correct. It’s the same reason Hitllary keeps saying “epidemic” The fact is quite simple, most people don’t have a clue. Really, only a small percentage of our population knows anything about a .223 AR style rifle.
The idiot knows very well it didn’t bruise his shoulder and all the other far-fetched ridiculous claims he made, but that’s not the point. The point was that a majority of the ignorant readers will believe from his comments that the rifle is a death cannon firing rounds with a blast and concussion equal to deck guns on naval surface ships. He’s maintaining media-cartel consistency that the truth doesn’t fit the narrative, but an embellished nonsense lie does.

    • Only a true p*ssy would be OK throwing away their manhood with such ease…

Even if he wasn’t before, he now is based on just making these comments public.

  12. From what I’ve gathered, Frank, the gun shop owner got Couric’ed.

Unfortunately he didn’t have independent recording running like the folks in her “documentary.”

  13. Gender has to do with language and culture roles. If he is talking about a divide between men and women, it is a sex issue.

  14. Wimp doesn’t begin to describe Mr(MS?) KUNTSman. Shooting is FUN you big girl…lots of (deserved) abuse allover FB too.

  15. Pussy is the correct term short for pusillanimous
    Full Definition of pusillanimous

:  lacking courage and resolution :  marked by contemptible timidity

Comparing him to a vagina is an insult to women.

    • I did not know that. I always thought it was a “sexist” term. That’s what is great about this blog. You really do learn something new every day.

    • Vaginas are the toughest things on the planet – even when they’re broke down they still work.

If I can figure out how to make an engine out of vaginas, I’ll make millions for creating the engine that never breaks.

  16. When someone is caught lying they two choices: admit you lied and ask forgiveness, or believe your own lie and defend it. He’s made his choice and now he’ll suffer the consequences.

  17. In his defense, an AR is loud indoors, especially if nobody tells you to double-up on the ear protection. The rest is all just pathetic fantasy-drivel, but it is loud on semi-auto, and likely seems moreso on full auto.

    • The “loud” part was the only one in his piece that was not a big fat lie. It was still grossly exaggerated. Cannon fire is much louder.
But maybe he shot some special kind of AR. Muzzle loading perhaps? Where else would be that sulfur smell comming from? Must be black powder.
Anti gun shills lie. Water is wet.

  18. Ok so as not to offend I won’t say he’s a p***y no matter how much of one I believe him to be. He is also a lying sack of wimpy tiny little bitty mouse balls. A true girlie man queen of girlie men. A fairy, Tinkerbell, cupcake snowflake. He should find a safe place and hide from the world. Before some 8 year old little girl beats him mercilessly over the head with her Ken doll.

  19. I never knew people could actually be like this?
What purpose does this person exist for, what universal reason for his dna to exist?
I kept thinking about the character from the 5 th element….the MC of the network…..this guy is like that.

      • I assure you that were anything remotely Darwinian at play, our delicate flower would have had to be a bit tougher, or he’d be dead long before now. I suspect he’d be tougher.

One of the unfortunate side-effects of Western Civilization is that it enables people like this actually existing en masse. Self-indulgent laziness of this level was reserved for the not-too-bright children of royal families not so long ago. Now, a guy that a couple of my lesbian accquaints view as a pansy (forwarded the link,.hilarity ensued) really thinks he’s a man. When that viewpoint is fall-down funny to a couple of femmes, one should perhaps reflect on one’s choices in life.

      • Yeah, I mean, let’s say I’m walking around the savannah. I’m hungry, but dang, those four legged animals are fast as Heyel! But there’s ol’ Kuntzman, and he ain’t much trouble at all. Oddly enough, marinate that up and it tastes just like chicken.
        Nature provides.

        • I had a vegetarian friend ask the snide question, “Would you eat a person, would you me…?”

I replied, equally snidely, “Under the right circumstance and with enough BBQ sauce, yes!”

She didn’t like that one bit.

  20. “Say what you want, but don’t drag me and all other gun owning women down. We know more about the AR-15 than you ever will, and claiming this is a gender issue just shows how thin-skinned and ignorant you actually are. Don’t deflect blame to gender. And thanks for admitting what we already knew.”

    BOOM!! Mic drop. 😀

    Thank you Sara!

  21. I am transgender and a lifetime member of the N.R.A. And have fired many types of firearms, sooo he is definitely full of shit. I wonder of I stick to calling him an asshole (something gender neutral) would I still be considered to have internalized misogyny and be more pc?

    • My sociology prof from long ago, she liked the word “shim” for feminized males. Not in a trans way (I know, trans is different) but in the way of this really sad little excuse for a man. They still “think” of themselves as hetero males, but they exhibit all the behavioral characteristics of a woman.

Most of us are accepting of everyone who is nice, decent, and tries to do the right thing by their fellow human.

“We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.” – Ben Franklin

      • This is not even him being feminized. I too used to think being weaker and spreading lies and gossip was something largely women only till I entered the work force.

I have seen scrawny 10 yr old children fire ar-15’s without a hitch. If he was firing a Mosin Nagant or 300 Winchester I would be like yes, those do hurt. He probably had a bad shoulder weld or is lying. Worse is this gives the Orlando guy some sort of bad-ass cred if he could do 103 times what mere mortals have trouble doing once.

PTSD is a term that has social justice warriors have bastardized. I have heard them claim PTSD from Twitter comments. No, not joking. I had it for a few months after going through Katrina and still have it for something slightly unrelated (like the combat kind, you cannot unsee or undo some things). But these people are so sheltered nearly any dose of reality can break them.

You know life is good when people have to concoct drama and discard rights with disdain. These are the warriors in tin pot hats, and kitchen table capes, and wielding a spent paper towel roll. They require victims to feel like they are needed in the world.

      • He is not displaying the characteristics of a woman, I’ve rarely encountered a woman with so little fortitude. More like a nervy toy poodle.

  22. Frank Stelmach tried to walk this story back, claiming that he was misrepresented: https://www.facebook.com/doubletapshootingrange/posts/1146174612105699

Franks Gun Shop Double Tap Shooting Range
    June 14 at 9:24pm ·
Yesterday the man in this video from the NY Daily News called and asked if he could come and interview us about the basic principles of how an AR-15 works. We acknowledged his offer so that we could prove that an AR-15 is indeed a great and safe weapon as stated in the video. After the video was filmed there was another Q&A type conversation on how things work in other countries, what are some of the things others believe would be a step into the right direction of gun control. To our knowledge we did not know that Mr. Kuntzman would completely turn things around and make our establishment look like one of anti-gun advocates. We have received dozens of phone from all over the country in regards to the article. Many of these callers expressed disgust with the article and told us to stay away from the media. I can assure everyone that we do not support mental health screenings like they do in Europe and we don’t think that government officials should take away guns from people as it was portrayed in the article. Currently we are doing everything we can to take this article down because after reading it we are just as disgusted about it as all of you are. Our team here at Double Tap would like to sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding and report that we are doing everything in our power to get this article removed. I implore all of our supporters to share our apology with everyone in-order to help defend ourselves from the media who is doing anything in their power to blemish the face of all gun owners and attempting to add more rule to the fire of the attempt of the liberal gun-grabbing agenda. To those that are writing negative reviews about us, please understand we had no intentions of having this article cause such an issue, nor intentions of us looking like anti gun advocates but, to educate which in turn did the complete opposite due to Mr. Kuntzman. If anyone has anymore questions or concerns please feel free to come in or call us we will gladly discuss this issue with you. And for the record, if you get a bruised shoulder or PTSD from shooting an AR-15 you may be a Katie Couric, liberal with ought testicular fortitude.

    • How stupid do you have to be to think that a NY rag is going to write a story without guns and have it be fair or accurate?

Surprised this gun store owner knows which way to put his pants on in the morning.

  23. Nice rebuttal, Sara. And bonus points for allowing that you’re going to get some flak because, that’s just life.

But about Gersh Kuntzman, and also Helen Ubinas’s equally vile article http://www.philly.com/philly/columnists/helen_ubinas/20160614_Ubinas__I_bought_an_AR-15_semi-automatic_rifle_in_Philly_in_7_minutes.html , and countless similar rantings….

All of these articles share two loathesome traits. One, they antagonize the readers’ most base emotions – fear, hatred, calumny. Two, and even more vile IMO – they play the victim card. I personally loathe the current culture of victimology. Life’s a bitch sometimes – you work and then you die. Not everybody strikes it rich, and not everyone can. That’s how capitalism and free trade works. (Another concept that the statists hate.)

I don’t know if you’ve personally been to New York City. I’ve only driven through twice back in 2009 and have no desire to do so again. And I’ve never been to (Nazi)fornia. But I did stay at Holiday Inn Express last night. And I have read a lot about both areas, so I’d like to think I understand a little bit of the cultural phenomena at work. And that is simply in urban areas (NYC, Bay Area, etc) gun culture is stifled (where you gonna find a quarry to shoot at, eh?) and then vilified, and ignorance takes root as it has for over 100 years, where it festers and grows into the current cancer that now afflicts American society as a whole. Kuntzman and Ubinas are pandering to that particular cancer, and in so doing risking, nay, DEMANDING, the inevitable civil war that’s sure to follow. It’s a war that will get everyone killed, including me and you. At least I’ll die a free man instead of on my knees. But I hope and pray that it’s not too late yet.

In the end Kuntzman and Ubinas don’t see you as an intelligent woman, Sara, but nothing more than an ugly insect to be exterminated as quickly and ignominously as possible. Reminds me of some folks I heard of in history class not all that long ago. We called them Nazis. They are back.

    Tom

  24. As others said, this guy only shot the gun so he could tell everyone what he probably already believed the experience would be like. You could have probably given him am m&p 15-22 and told him it was an “assault weapon” and he would make the same claim. Has anybody mocked up an ar with a stack of pillows duct taped to the stock so this delicate flower can squeeze off a few more rounds?

  25. I feel no shame in dropping my original comment here copy and paste:

It feels like a bazooka — and sounds like a cannon….

No. Try shooting a 12ga shotgun. Bazooka??? Cannon?? The recoil on the AR15 is extremely mild. Extremely.

I’ve shot pistols before, but never something like an AR-15. Squeeze lightly on the trigger and the resulting explosion of firepower is humbling and deafening (even with ear protection).

What pistol did you shoot!?? Almost all pistols will have more recoil than an AR15. Also, a pistol has a short barrel and the report and muzzle flash will be greater. Are you sure you shot a pistol? Are you sure you even shot an AR15?

The recoil bruised my shoulder. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face.

Are you left handed and left eye dominant?? That is the only way casings would be flying past your face.

The recoil bruised you??? From an AR15??? The AR15 has almost no recoil at all. Amazing flowery little pansy here.

The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick.

Modern smokeless powder has no sulfur in it. No sulfur.

The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary case of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable.

Really really mild recoil. Small muzzle flash and report compared to other firearms. Feels like we are getting back to the flowery pansy girl again.

This little girl is more of a man than you ever will be:
    http://youtu.be/wZE-EDGw2vo

Even in semi-automatic mode, it is very simple to squeeze off two dozen rounds before you even know what has happened. In fully automatic mode, it doesn’t take any imagination to see dozens of bodies falling in front of your barrel.

AR15s are not, I repeat, not, automatic. All AR15s are semiautomatic. I have several AR15s and have never “squeezed off two dozen rounds before [I] even [knew] what has happened.” The rest of your spiel is just your delusions and fantasies.

All it takes is the will to do it.

Forty nine people can be gone in 60 seconds.

As with anything, be it a pressure cooker full of improvised explosives or a 3D printed AR15 receiver, etc. laws are not going to stifle the creativity of mad men.

    • “Forty nine people can be gone in 60 seconds.”
He said that? (I haven’t bothered to read his article – don’t want to give them the click.)

Is he talking about Orlando? My understanding is that the nut-job was in the club for three freaking hours, and that the victims were killed over that period of time, not in 60 seconds.

Kuntzman is a liar, ignorant, close-minded, and manipulative. I hope his delicate feelings are completely traumatized by the avalanche of well deserved criticism he is getting for his lies.

    • Historically and scientifically, I would argue it is normal. Instinctively, men are attracted to women with traits that suggest they will survive the threats of the day. Today, we have Progressives who are attacking our right to self-defense, Radical Islam who want to enslave women, and men who have lost their instinct to defend women and innocents from evil. In the coming new world the Progressives are building for us, women who can run a gun will be more likely to survive than those who can’t. So, rest in the knowledge that you are normal. 🙂

    • It’s worse than that. He actually TAUGHT (I use that term advisedly) at the City University of New York’s journalism program, per Wikipedia.

He’s also bounced around to quite a few places, as well. Gee, I wonder why?

      Tom

  26. The AR15 with it’s 4-6 position adjustable stock really does make good on the concept of the Grand Equalizer. As a short man with matching small hands/short fingers most non adjustable rifle stocks give me the wrong length of pull. Most double stack semi-auto pistols are too thick and the trigger reach is too long (I eventually found that the XdM with smallest back strap fits pretty good). But the AR is totally adjustable for any size man or woman and the lack of any real recoil makes it easy to shoot. It truly is the universal equalizer.

  27. Nothing to complain about the writing here… and a content from someone that has more balls than him (so to speak).

I love how anti-gunners really try everything they can to divide people on guns with religion, race, gender, sexuality, etc… but it won’t work because we aren’t stupid. So, who’s really hateful now and generally quite aggressive when it comes to argue about guns?

He was the journalist to write about imaging bodies falling… I think it speaks for itself.

  28. UMMM…I just thought that the Newtown shooter boy(115pounds reported) had no problem handling an AR. Yeah try a shogun with a magnum load winky boy…

  29. HE DID A STEALTH EDIT TO HIS ARTICLE! LOL!!!!

Here is what it use to say (I had it quoted mockingly on Facebook):
“The recoil bruised my shoulder. The brass shell casings disoriented me as they flew past my face. The smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick. The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary case of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable.

    • With a name like Kuntzman, I’d be anxious and irritable all the time. That time of the month, all month long.

  30. Does this guy not understand PTSD? It’s a serious mental issue, not something that you get for an hour or two. It’s like he doesn’t know what an adrenaline rush is.

  31. Ptsd, HA! You’d be more likely to get post traumatic stress from the amount of comments and hateful speech is gonna be in cuntzmans inbox.

  32. I sent the article to my Mother who I took to a shooting range last time she was up for a visit. She laughed at it. She is 70 years old, 4’10” tall and maybe 100lbs. Not exactly a large person. It was her first time shooting and she had a great time. She liked shooting the handguns that I brought for her to try. But she really enjoyed shooting the AR-15. She thought it was loud but not bad because of the ear protection and was surprised how little kick there really was. Thought it would be a lot worse. She is looking forward to going again.

  33. “[R]ecoil bruised my shoulder…brass shell casings disoriented me…smell of sulfur and destruction made me sick. The explosions — loud like a bomb — gave me a temporary form of PTSD….”

Can you imagine what all the great war correspondents must be thinking? Not to mention actual soldiers. The metrosexing of America.

  34. A couple of highlights from the article:

An AR-15 is a weapon of mass destruction, a tool that should only be in the hands of our soldiers and cops

Cops should have weapons of mass destruction. Who knew?

the NRA, which seeks to bolster the Second Amendment by shutting down opponents’ right to the First. We can’t even debate guns in this country, thanks to the gun lobby.

Isn’t it funny how someone who has their own column in a mainstream media outlet is somehow having their First Amendment rights are being shut down because others are allowed to call him out on his bullsh*t? It kind of shows you what they mean by “debate”, namely the kind of debate where they pontificate from a position of ignorance, while those who know better sit down and shut up.

    • mobile cut off before I could explain the above links.
they’re from my blog. I read that piece of crap, and the whine fest he followed it up with, and felt like I needed to respond.

he cries about how people called him a liar but wont say why. and I notice they wont publish any of the responses.

oh and a lib I know described my writings above as “going into a frenzy” ( um, huh?) since when is a well articulated response to bad journalism a “frenzy”? (then again he seems to identify with someone who thought a .223 was “terrifying”) and he pretty much suggested I go back to the kitchen and restrict myself to making sandwiches and babies. so who’s got the gender issues here?

  35. :To gun lovers, you can’t even have an opinion on assault rifles — unless it’s theirs.”

No, you’re free to have any ol’ opinion you want. What you may not do, and preserve intellectual honesty, is pass your opinions off on an ignorant and credulous readership as being the truth.

Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but nobody is entitled to his own facts.

  36. At this point, he is just craving (and loving) the attention he is getting. What’s the old Hollyweird saying? Even bad press is press/attention.

I would still venture that is is mentally unstable if shooting an AR resulted in his psychosomatic reaction of “pesudo PTSD” and becoming sick, etc.

I won’t stoop to calling him names as it will only fuel his ego with his mentality of pointing and saying “Mommy, those bad people called me names” as his actions have already done.

When I went into the military, I was a whopping 126lbs. When I exited, I was a humongous 165lbs. Why do I being this up? Due to being a military cop, we had to qualify twice a year on different courses on the M16 (yes, the true fully automatic variety that has the pew pew pew position).

At NO TIME did little ole me EVER have a bruise from shooting the M16 even when we shot it on FULL AUTO.

Now, while I will say his narrative is definitely SUSPECT, I won’t out and out call him a liar.
He should film a 2nd time to the range and shooting the same gun and then remove his shirt – I want to see said bruises from shooting the much dreaded semi-automatic AR15.

I don’t want PICS. I want to see an unedited filming of his shoulder before and after him shooting it.
THEN and only then will I believe him. If it happens, then he needs to be checked for bleeding disorders.

No bruises? Then it didn’t happen… simple enough

  37. “Yes, I’m a wimp. I simpered because my experience with the AR-15 bruised me, body and spirit. -Kuntzman”

Just to be clear: you’re not a wimp because the AR-15 bruised your body. You’re a wimp because it bruised your spirit. You lack the intestinal fortitude to deal with anything remotely dangerous. You did a great disservice to every veteran who has ever seen combat by claiming to have “temporary PTSD.”

More importantly, you’re a wimp because you lack the integrity to even tell the truth. You could have written exactly the same article without firing an AR-15, complete with all its flimsy descriptions that any fool could have come up with by watching guns fired on TV. In fact, you intended to write this article before you went to the range, because you are a servant of The Narrative. Your only reason for going to the range was to try to create some extra credibility for your predetermined outcome. You, sir, are a coward and everything that is wrong with journalism today.

Lastly, your attempt to make the “gun issue” a “gender issue” is as sickening as it is transparent. Like all Progressives, you fall back on calling that which you do not like racist / misogynist / [insert any other bigotry here ] when you are called to the carpet. Once again your cowardice and lack of integrity are on display. So wear the “wimp” label well, Mr. Kuntzman. You stuck it on yourself and have ably demonstrated that it is fitting.

  38. Sara as usual…. She knocks it out of the park! Maybe if this nut less… brain dead libtard would spend more time with women like her, instead of in his “safe space” his balls might drop……

  39. Good article Sara. This Kuntz should shoot a 12 gauge 3 1/2 inch shell with no recoil pad. My brother’s girlfriend even shot it and didn’t complain like this.

  40. I really wish gun owners would stop throwing “liberal” around like its an insult, and stop lumping every anti-gun cry-baby into the group of liberals. I’m a liberal firearm owner. FNX45 Tactical & AAC Ti-Rant, to name a few.. I vote democrat, I vote liberal, and I believe in equal rights, including 2nd amendment rights, for everyone.

Anti-gun nuts are terrified of a machine they cannot control, mostly due to the media. The statistics for firearms just do not make them killers.. Hell backyard pools are responsible for more child deaths and near deaths each year than ALL firearm related injuries or deaths. It’s just a fact. But the media doesn’t flash a bulletin every time a kid drowns..

Let’s lay the blame at the feet of ours news media and stand together against fear mongering.

  41. This article was spot on. The comments not so much. In defending the truth that women can fire and maintain AR-15s as well as a man, isn’t it a little self-defeating to use every insulting phrase in the book for a woman to describe the stupid author of that article?

  42. Read both of his articles. He only made it a ‘gender issue’ because he got so many emails calling him a little girl.

  43. I am an independent and agree with both liberals, and conservatives on different issues. It’s OK to have varying viewpoints and not align with one political party or another. I think this issue needs to get past the Left vs. Right nonsense. It’s about right and wrong. There are people out there on both sides of the isle with the same agenda, and that is to disarm the American people and slowly erode our rights in thew name of “safety”. Kuntzman knew what he was going to write before he even fired the gun. He is another example of someone jumping on the bandwagon of mass hysteria and towing the line for the powers that be.

  44. WOW… good thing he didn’t shoot an actual POWERFUL hunting rifle, probably would have killed that crybaby. Love the “smell of destruction” part… I get that from my family every time I leave the bathroom…
