The Bolshevik Revolution put an end to the free circulation of guns among the general public. The leaders of the uprising knew only too well what the masses were capable of, especially if armed up to the teeth, and moved to monopolize gun ownership.

In 1918 the Bolsheviks initiated a large scale confiscation of civilian firearms, outlawing their possession and threatening up to 10 years in prison for concealing a gun.

The only exception was made for hunters who were allowed to possess smoothbore weapons. Gun licenses, however, were strictly regulated and only issued by the NKVD, the police organization known for its role in Joseph Stalin’s political purges.

It was only a matter of time before Russia became an almost totally gun-free nation. Some people believed Russians would regain their right to own guns after the collapse of the Soviet Union but despite firearms becoming available on the black market during the 90s, the new government did not risk liberalizing the gun market.

Sounds like the dem/lib plan… wonder if they will let BLM and the Black Panthers keep theirs… End Quote

      And AntiFa…

Of course they will, after all they are part of BO’s “civilian national security force”.

““We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded,” Obama said in July 2, 2008.”

Those national security objectives include the overthrow of the constitutional government and installing communism.

      Be Prepared !!!

    • And the $1B worth of M4 real assault weapons (purchased with your tax dollars) that Obama stashed somewhere before he left office. Wonder if they are in Antifa’s basement somewhere?

  1. Those who ignore the lessons of the past are doomed to repeat them…and the skies are darkening before the coming storm. Moon Labe

  2. People are already ignoring demands for registration in a couple of states. What would make them think that people won’t ignore the FedGov too?

Like they say; you want them then come and take them if you can find them.

    • It won’t be about going door to door to take them. Once they’re illegal to own, gun owners won’t take them to shooting ranges or share them with potential new gun owners. Once gun owners pass away, their children and grandchildren will be torn between becoming potential felons over inheriting guns that they have no knowledge of or connection to…. or turning them in. Within two generations there won’t BE a gun culture and any stashed guns will be dust collectors waiting for their turn to be destroyed.

      • No one in my family will turn in anything. My sons and daughters have their own as do many of the grandkids. Rather large Brady bunch kind of thing. Mine will get divided up and blended into their collections.

        • Yes, they will. Unless you have a lot of land, when the ranges are closed and guns outlawed, a couple of more generations and the grandchildren of your grandchildren, will not be able to even practice – the only people learning to shoot will be government lackeys. The troops will not be allowed to bring guns home, only the higher ups will be able to. They will become magic talismans, like swords were.

      • Before our birthright is made illegal by the rabid hyenas we will see a separation of the former US into two or more independent countries.

The Civil War was not waged as a way of forcing the Confederate states into compliance with the Constitution. It was brute force–Yankee imperialism and aggression intended to prevent the exercise of self determination. Today, liberals are continuing Lincoln’s work, making sure that government of, by and for the people perishes from the earth.

  3. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER register or voluntarily surrender your firearms!

If you think I will comply with a Marxists government you are dead wrong!

All we need to determine is how many will go with me into the next life.

    • This is why I will not obtain a permit to carry a concealed weapon. I will not put myself on the government’s confiscation short list. And I will work with resistance forces to use my weapons in well planned hit and run attacks on the Bolsheviks, not too much in one place, but random hits to keep them guessing. Primary targets will be the Leftists responsible for making “fundamental changes to America.” More importantly will be the use of IEDs and other targeted explosives on Bolshevik HQs, barracks, armories, etc. We will be fighting like the Taliban and the IRA. We will not surrender.

      • If I’m on a “list” I’m on a list. I’m not handing over anything, ever, that’s a personal line in the sand. Send bachelors.

      • There’s a simple fix for that. Just remember that you are not on a list…your address is. Confiscations are not something that happens overnight. There will be plenty of advance warning that it is coming. In my estimation, if it happens at all, we’re talking years. First you need consensus among a majority of anti-gun politicians in all three branches of government…and in the Supreme Court. You need at least 38 individual states to ratify a Constitutional Amendment. Throw in amnesty periods and the impossible logistical problem of carrying out door-to-door confiscations among a population of 330 million people scattered across 3.8 million square miles of landmass…and I think everyone gets the picture that, even if this worst case scenario did play out, we’ve all got a few years to take steps to ensure that when the knock does come, our firearms are safely stashed somewhere else where they will not be found easily, or at all.

  4. It’s the same thing with dog fighting rings.
The people in charge poke, prod and abuse the dogs into becoming mindless killers then the moment the ring is dissolved or one of the dogs snaps at somebody in charge they get put down.

Whip up the useful idiots into a frenzy, let them bleed and kill for your cause then put them down when no longer useful.

Way too many shortsighted joiners out there looking for the “easy” way. Yes, a lot of these idiots think violent revolution is the “easy” way.

  5. Well we must be intellectually honest here or we are no better than the leftists. Stripping away guns wasn’t Marxism at all. “Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated, by force if necessary” is a famous quote from Karl Marx.

    • Marx was long gone by the Revolution. Once Lenin/Stalin gained power this Marxist tenant (and others) became inconvenient. Communists do that a lot.

      • Marxism is not communism. Karl Marx wrote about the workers having a say in the company, not the government taking over the company, making slaves of the workers.

        • No, Marx was not writing about labor unions. In Das Kapital he wrote explicitly about the armed overthrow of governments to destroy capitalism and institute communism. I’m guessing you haven’t read it.

  6. “Tsarist Russia was awash in civilian firearms” is a pretty strong counter-argument to the guns-preserve-freedom doctrine.

    • It is also untrue. Under the czar’s feudal system, boyars did not allow peasants/ serfs to have guns in order to control the serfs. Most city dwellers also were not allowed to own guns for fear of an uprising.
Bolsheviks confiscated guns mostly from the rich who were unpopular and too few to offer significant resistance.
That is why rights have to be uniform for all citizens or they will disappear.

  7. “The Bolshevik Revolution put an end to the free circulation of guns among the general public.”

Just as it must for the Bolshevik Commiecrats for their’s to come to fruition.

  8. Not hard to control a vast nation of serfs. How about 20000000 dying to “save” Communism in WWII? What’d the average Russian get for fighting the Nazis? A gulag. WE have a helluva lot to fight for…

  9. If this is to happen the fault will lay at the feet of the present POTG. Seeing the coming assault and allowing it to happen is surely causing all those who gave so much to ensure Our Rights to roll in their graves. It simply comes down to a choice. Continue to Live under Tyranny because surrender allows for continued existence or Stand and Fight. Refusing to comply does nothing to halt the destruction of not only the 2nd A, but all Rights. Because Our enemies are and have been playing the long game for decades. They can afford to wait Us out. If for no other reason it must be Stopped Now by all means necessary. If not for Us then think of your children and their children’s children. What kind of future do you want to leave them. Will the history of Our Generation and the Freedoms We enjoyed be swept into the trash bin of history. For it must be remembered the victor writes the history and if We allow Our enemies to prevail Our times and history will soon be forgotten. Choices Must be made. It will not take a huge army of thousands, but It will require the courage of thousands of POTG who are willing to due what needs to be done without quarter. As has been learned from Charlie, the Mujahedin and thousands of other Freedom fighters. It only takes determination and a willingness to Win at any cost. If Freedom is worth fighting for it requires sacrifice…If it’s not We just as well surrender now.
“If a man has not discovered something that he will die for, he isn’t fit to live”.
    Martin Luther King, Jr.

    • I don’t think Americans will be servile (at least many won’t), but it won’t matter. There is no organization for resistance. At this point, for resistance to work I think some of the Governors of the various states would have to stand up and lead it. I don’t really see any current governors with the sack for that. So while I don’t think we will be servile, I think we will be defeated in detail due to lack of organization.

      • Anyone who tries to organize will learn everything they ever wanted to know about the surveillance state. And if the state overlooks them, they’ll be turned in by the people they trust.

        • One good way to practice not being a total wimp is to go shopping without a mask (and be friendly and cheerful). I was in Home Depot, Lowes, Hobby Lobby, and the farm store today, all without a mask. It was awkward but nobody said anything. I was friendly with the workers, and they were friendly to me. I’m sure a lot of them only mask up because their job requires it.

I know this is harder in some places than others. I am in a red county in a blue state. I’m sure it would be harder in San Francisco, Portland, or Seattle, and easier in Northern Idaho, West Virginia, or the Ozarks.

Sure, it isn’t much, but it is a small first step towards rejecting tyrrany. Deal with the social pressure to conform. Deal with the awkwardness. People who fantasize about Red Dawn, but can’t deal with a bit of social shame are out of touch.

I’m toughening up for the “Mark of the Beast” days. They might not be far off.☺

        • California? Maryland? Illinois? News York or Jersey? Michigan? Washington? Oregon? Wisconsin? Minnesota? Come on, do tell!

        • Angy Dad,

I put the odds at 98% that you listed ALL of the potential governors that fit the description — and none of the governors that could not possibly fit the description!

        • I hearby nominated my home state of Mn. to the list….ten months into the “pandemic” and teacher still says ” I still need to guide you sheeple under my self appointed emergency edict.”
Those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach. Those whom can’t do either, run for politics.

        • New York’s governor killed a lot of grandpas and grandmas, then wrote a book bragging about it, and then nominated himself for an Emmy. No gov can be more of a sack that that.

        • Tired of BS: My governor is a sack…

          Pb_fan59: Gretchen is horrible…

Ralph: New York’s Cuomo is the worst…top that, guys…

CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR NEWSOM HAS ENTERED THE CHAT

  10. We as Americans will go our separate ways. Their will be no “civil war” as we have known one in our history. The weak in California will make it a Hell on Earth. Unfortunately the weak rich people can and have moved to Arizona and Texas. They will do nothing to keep those states free. And they don’t have to according to Libertarians. But they will work to legalize drugs.

The “gun community” has supported the banning of rifle bayonets. The 1968 gun control act banned the importation of long guns with a bayonet lug. They believe the bayonet is an outdated weapon. The bayonet is a great and very expensive psychological weapon.

Most people are more afraid of being stabbed. Than they are afraid of being shot.

  11. I used to own firearms. I was rowing across a lake to a gun shop on the other shore to have them appraised. I had my entire collection with me. Suddenly, a wind sprung up and capsized the boat, taking all my guns to the bottom.

I can’t remember the name of the lake, darn it, but it was in Minnesota.

    • Yeah, I lost mine in Lake Superior…. was conoeing in the middle of the lake with my full gun safe and 20,000 rounds of ammo (for ballast, duh) when I leaned over to spear a 15 foot long Sturgeon, capsizing the craft and sending nearly everything to the bottom. I tried to mark the spot with a floating milk jug, but only had 1000 feet of fishing line, which was too short to find the bottom with. On the upside, it was a lot easier to paddle the 46 nautical miles back to shore.

      • Man, and here I was drunk on Lake Minnetonka when my party pontoon boat got overloaded with people and capsized. Sadly, I don’t remember what happened, but it was a total loss.

  12. Isn’t the form a person fills out to purchase a firearm “registering” it. Kinda seems like it to me, X bought x and lives at x address.

    • That form was not supposed to become a permanent record. It came with an expiration date. Most of the guns I owned were purchased when the forms had expiration dates, but some had no forms, because I got them from my father. Unfortunately, I got caught in that same wind storm on Lake Superior and lost all my guns. Oh, well, whatcha gonna do?

    • No because at most, they could prove you bought a gun. There is nothing saying you still have it. That’s why universal background checks and mandatory reporting of stolen firearms is so onerous. It establishes a chain of custody.

  13. Hell I sold all my guns. What kind of idiot drops the whole shebang in the drink.
Now I can join the long list of former gun owners who don’t have the balls to fight or stand for nothing because we are just too scared. They might as well have came and took em.

  14. Russians did lose a lot of their gun rights, but there are still millions of “legal” gun owners in Russia.

You start off with a short barreled rifle / smooth bore weapon and if you manage to not screw up with that after a few years, you can move up to long rifles and rifled barrels. Likewise, you can engage in hunting activities and apply for a license to own hunting rifles. TMK, they also have the right to defend life and property.

Russia doesn’t have much of a gun culture, nor do they engage in a lot of hunting, so gun ownership is naturally a lot lower there. Different country, different system. Each county has it’s own way of doing things and it’s incorrect to say Russians can’t own guns.

That said, lets keep the 2A listed in the bill of rights, shall we? I would rather not have to wait five years with a smoothbore and wait more on government bureaucracy and background checks just to own a hunting rifle. Lets not go the way of Russia, or worse, Japan.

  15. The 4473 is a paper document, the paper sits in boxes at the FFL for years and after 20 or so the FFL can destroy it. Realistically as much as guns get traded around after about a dozen years the likelyhood of the orignal owner not having traded it for something else or sold it is down to maybe 50 to 60 percent. The new 4473 is much easier to OCR scan, but all the old stuff much of it stored in less than ideal environments, nope!

The real danger is Congress mandating that all new gun sales have an electronic record created at point of sale and passing the so called universal background check, then you have a real searchable registration database. Now that I am thinking about it, maybe it is time to get off my ass and buy a few 80 percent receivers.

    • You moron… don’t tell me what I am, or what i’ll do…..
I’ve filled out many 4473… that doesn’t mean I haven’t sold those weapons by now….
You’re an idiot and you likely are some neckbeard MILLENNIAL f a g…

  16. We the people, of these United States of America, especially we Veterans have the obligation to defend our country from all enemies, domestic and foreign. Now is the time to prepare to purge our country of the ever growing ranks of traitors.

  17. There used to be a time, a long long time ago, where We the People could actually vote for a change. In today’s time those that we want out, own and control not only the voting machines but the people that open and feed the ballots into the machines and fiddle around with this and that and voila the vote means nothing because they already had the fix in. Well, America our time is coming or going. Wake up. Take heed. We are in trouble because pretty soon we will all work for the likes of Soros and China. We will feed them and pave their way to World domination. Do you want that??? Well I don’t..

Ignorance can be educated but stupid is forever.
