The home of everyone’s favorite gun rights activist David Hogg was SWATted today.

According to BSO, deputies received a call at around 8:30 a.m., saying someone broke into Hogg’s home with an AR-15 rifle and was holding the family hostage.

Fortunately, no one was home when police arrived.

SWATing is stupid, dangerous and irresponsible. Oh, and it’s illegal, too. People have been killed as a result of fake calls to police such as this. And in the end, it does nothing to further the cause of Second Amendment rights.

  1. Hope it’s not one of us gun owners, it would look bad. Maybe the little commie did it to play the victim card.

    • Would not surprise me, especially with how he has started to fade from view. Hope they catch and prosecute the hell out of whoever did it.

    • You are most likely correct. This was probably orchestrated by Hogg and the people connected with him. Just too convenient that no one was home – forcing the SWAT team to break in. Otherwise, Hogg would have had to either come out when the cops arrived and destroy the effect, or he would have had to have a good answer why he didn’t come out or respond. If someone unconnected to him called in the SWAT team, they would have made sure that someone was home. Let’s see how this plays out; although given the number and magnitude of unpunished crimes committed by well-connected people, no need to hold our breadth.

    • My thought as well, that he or someone under his direction did it to drum up sympathy.as his 5 minutes is wearing rather thin.

    • Us gun owners? Whoever did it acted on their own accord. I had absolutely nothing to do with it, and it doesn’t make me look bad at all.

This is the problem, don’t we say all the time it’s the person, not the tool? That applies here as well. It just so happens a phone was the tool used.

  2. Is it still a contradiction to say this was a resoundingly stupid stunt while still not really feeling any pity for Hogg?
    🤠

    • Yes, it’s criminal and it’s morally wrong.

And yes, I LOL’d when I first read the headline. I just can’t help myself.

    • No because it put people in danger, but it was funny that Broward was the responding department and again all they did was stand around. I’ll never have any sympathy for Adolf Hogg, he deserves to become a twink sex slave for ISIS.

    • david hogg is a dick and a real smarmy jackass of a person.

But no one should ever think SWATing is ok. Who knows who did this, it’s probably some loser who did it for kicks and picked hogg because he’s on cnn every other day but it’s not ok. I hope the person who did this is caught and get a minimum of 10 years in prison. That guy in Kansas was killed by some scumbag SWATTER and others will be in other SWATing calls.

      • That guy in Kansas was killed by cops acting on a single source of unreliable anonymously provided information. The cops were naive and should be on the hook for such an amateurish response. The guy who made the SWATing call should get 20 years in federal prison for make a fake emergency 911 call across state lines resulting in death.

        • If the caller gets 20 years for maliciously setting the stage for a murder committed by somebody he never met, what should the cop who murdered the resident get?

        • Murder implies “malice a forethought”, so no… not murder. The cops are held to the SCOTUS standard of “reasonableness” of the actions taken by the cop based on what they percieved, on training and experience, and on the “totality of circumstances” known by the officer at the time he/she pulled the trigger. The individual cop is held responsible for the rounds fired from his/her gun and they are answerable for every bullet they fired….. if you’re asking me about that particular cop’s training and experience and what they saw/felt/knew at the time they pulled the trigger, then I have no answers for you. What I do know is a field supervisor should have got a handle on that situation and cooled $#!t off before anybody was put in a situation where someone would get shot. Where “active shooter” (Columbine, Parkland, Sandy Hook, etc) response is fast and messy, “baricaded hostage” response is slow and methodical. Since it was a BS call, I’ll go out on a limb and assume the cops didn’t hear any shots being fired, which = slow and methodical response.

        • You walk up to a quiet house with a gun in your hand and shoot the guy who answers the door when you knock….then tell the judge you had no malice or forethought in your actions.

The moment reality fails to line up with the 911 call that sent you there is the moment you choose between being a good guy with a gun or a bad guy with a gun.

    • No it isn’t. It’s kind of like watching old WW2 films of the Russian communists and German fascists fighting each other. You kind of hope that there was a way that both of them could lose.

    • Stranger things have happened but e911 calls are pretty easy to track down when there is enough political incentive for an investgating agency to chase it down. If they choose to put enough investigative horse power behind this, we’ll all find out who made the 911 call in about 12-48 hours….. unless it was a false flag operation and there are people who need to be protected.

      • How?
My understanding is you can buy a phone with cash, activate it with fake information, then make the call. After that smash it.
Then there are ways to spoof a number. Anyone that’s gotten a robo call know how hard it is to track.

        • You don’t need to activate a phone if all you’re calling is 9-1-1.

I had a nice deputy knocking on my door when I had an unactivated phone in my back pocket. Turns out the only thing it was capable of doing with the keypad locked was also the only thing it was capable of doing without being active, dial 9-1-1. So I butt-dialed 9-1-1, apparently twice, because the phone ignored all the other buttons that were pressed in between. Made me decide to throw that phone away without ever using it.

        • The (enhanced) e911 system will triangulate coordinates on mobile phone calls to 911 or give an exact address for landlines. A little bit of nexus lexus, a tip here or there, and little gumshoe work and you can narrow it down pretty quick…. like I said though, there has to be motivation on the part of the investigating agency. This story got national headlines and I’m sure BC Sherriff’s Office is salivating to parade the head and quarted parts of a “2nd Amendment extremist” across the kingdom. They’ll find out who did it soon enough.

    • I thought the same thing… isn’t his father retired FBI? Didn’t realize government pay grade was that good…

        • A disabled not-really-a-cop, and a teacher, with 2 kids, in a $800k house?
I must be doing something wrong, or they’re doing something right, or they’re up to their eyeballs in mortgage payments.

        • I know a lot of people who bought $150,000 houses in the 90’s and sold them pre-2008 for over $1million (thank you very much Dodd-Frank and Nor-Cal tech boom)…. this story is actually very common. This happened to my brother in law and he’s the same age as Hogg’s parents, so the numbers add up.

  3. Hoggboy and fiends created a false-flag event. Eff ’em…no platitudes and false compassion for Herr Hogg🐖🐷🐽

  4. and of COURSE he lives in a fucking mansion. fucking fascist pig. he fits every persona of a fascist.

      • That’s a Mansion? Apparently you don’t live anywhere near Washington DC! Houses of that size are the Norm, not the Exception. A ~2,500sqft house will set you back ~$600-K easily.

        • Where I live at a vacant lot sells for 1.25 million.

        • I told my son a year ago I was going to live in a million dollar house. He asked where was I moving to? I said I wasn’t.

Sydney house prices are so crazy a 3 bedroom fibro house in an outer ring suburb is approaching a million dollars.

        • Not big. Housing prices are out of sight on the left coast.

  5. I hope they catch whoever it is and throw the book at them! Just like any person who does a SWATing. Someone needs to rot when this stuff happens.

To say it was Hogg without any evidence is dumb though. As amusing as the notion is, there’s enough crazy people in the world that someone could have done it. I suspect we’ll know within a few weeks if not days.

  6. Teenage son, David Hogg, of rich white parents traveled to Washington DC to receive RFK Human Rights award. While out of state, some jacka$$ reports fake hostage incident at Mr. Hogg’s home. The “swatting” incident has been blamed by liberal media on Trump loving gun rights ammosexuals.

  7. At this point, it could have been anybody from either side, or even somebody with no political motive.

I doubt it’s Piglet or anybody closely affiliated with him, but it could easily be anybody from his side who assumed it would make our side look bad.

    • There are usually five to seven units on scene when contact is made, and all are generally behind some sort of cover, but only one or two will be visible from the front door. Dispatch is asked to make contact inside, the family comes out and says everything is OK. As they come out there are zero guns pointed at them. None. If, on the infinitesimal chance it was all an elaborate plan to use them as a diversion and I get sniped, well hey, I might be dead, but at least I never sacrificed my principles.

That’s (the part I bolded) what I was thinking when I saw the description of a bunch of cops using cover to shield them from the object house, but not from the other side of the street. If the purpose of the call was to get cops on the scene to shoot at, they’d be doing the shooting from anywhere except the place they told the cops to look.

  8. Regardless, good guys with guns will still be there to— oh, this happened in Broward county? Oh, in that case, idiots with guns will still be there to do nothing and make excuses.

  9. I think it’s buzz. He’s got the bus tour coming up and this gets him more publicity. Don’t be surprised if they find out the caller is connected to him.

  10. As others have speculated it is likely someone in hogg’s circle to drum up media attention similar to the Greenville, Miss. church that was burned in 2016 by a parishioner and blamed on Trump followers.

    • Or like that Patterson guy who happened to release that phony bigfoot footage just as he was also releasing a bigfoot documentary.

      Same scheme, different crud-bastard.

  11. Actually I believe he did it to himself.
Publicity pig um Hogg that he is.
Another excuse to mouth off about nothing anyone wants to hear.

  12. While we are on the subject of swatting . . . this type of thing is going to happen until a massive paradigm shift takes place in American Law enforcement circles.

You can’t just go in hot off of one random phone call. That is a crappy and potentially dangerous thing to state but it is still better than the alternative which is what we got right now. It leads to the problems we have seen (like here) and more – up to and including wrongful death. It also has the potential to be an abuse of personal liberties. If any anonymous person can bring probable cause for law enforcement to enter a property, then any person potentially will including people sympathetic to law enforcement – including LE’s themselves. If they can’t get a warrant “swat’em”.

And this situation is very dangerous for LE’s. Eventually some spree shooter who does not want to go after the unarmed, or a terrorist (especially terrorists), will figure out that cops will go right where you tell them to . . . and then set up the perfect ambush. And that folks is what it will take for change. Cuz commoners getting their rights violated, up to and including dying, is not doing it and probably never will.

  13. Ok, I’ll be the one to speculate that he swatted himself for the publicity and to have one more thing to rage against for the cameras.

  14. Soooo…. for the second time hogg the victim was conveniently not present. Kinda suspicious.
Secondly, a hostage situation in his parents house when he is in washington getting some BS award?
And the caller specifically identified the weapon?
This was a setup, plain and simple. And im betting hoggwash knew about it. Just like the first one.

  15. How about we all just admit that this was a stupid event regardless of who called it in, and then wait to find out who made the call before all this crazy, mindless speculating. If no info is released concerning it in a couple of days, then start the conspiracies, and I’ll go along with them as well. But let’s try to let Broward do its job for a change…

  16. False flag from the Left.

Similar to a high school in Raleigh that was having a “Town hall against guns” and it just conviently happened to have a threat called into the school to cause a lockdown the week prior.

Then the students got to talk in the town hall that they were “survivors” and feared for their lives that the lockdown was because of a shooter.

  17. If it’s Hogg or actually more likely those pulling his puppet strings, this will be off the news feed in less that 24 hours.

    • No doubt Attention Hogg did it himself or had one off his minions commit the crime so he could hold a “press conference”. I’ll bet there weren’t any (or enough) TV cameras present outside the Wash D.C. event where he was to receive the RFK “major” award (LOL) so after a quick text “voila” he’s deluged with lenses and microphones held in front of his ugly mug by the sickening sycophants belonging to the Liberal Media/Fake News outlets.

Yeah I made a “Christmas Story” reference, so what.

  18. Who ever said that he was “Swat-ted” by pro 2A? Sounds like more anti 2A hype to me. I would not be surprised that he did not make the call himself.

  19. “And in the end, it does nothing to further the cause of Second Amendment rights.” Thanks for the lecture bud but you don’t know that the person who called was a gun rights advocate.

  20. A “swatting” at Hogg’s pen you say? It’s natural after all flies are attracted to filth.
