Are you one of those who mourn the loss of finger grooves on the GLOCK Gen5 pistols? Do you find the nubbly texture on GLOCKs not grippy enough? Or do you have hands the size of a silverback gorilla’s and need more girth to get a good hold on your gun.

Never fear, Hogue is here. They’ve just announced a couple of additions to their HandAll line of beavertail grip sleeves for the GLOCK 17. They’ve made two new versions to accommodate every iteration of the venerable and popular G17 pistol. Here’s their press release . . .

Henderson, NV – Hogue Incorporated is proud to announce the newest additions to their line of precision fit HandALL Beavertail Grip Sleeves with 2 models uniquely designed to fit the Glock 17. “The Glock 17 is a favored pistol for law enforcement, military and personal use all over the world” said grip designer Matt Hogue. “We are pleased to offer our highly popular HandALL Beavertail Grip Sleeves to fit this firearm. The reliability of the Glock 17 paired with the perfect fit of our HandALL make it a perfect combo for field carry or personal use at home. Two variations are available to ensure a perfect fit: the first made for Glock Generations 1, 2 and 5 and the second for Generations 3 & 4.”

The Hogue HandALL Beavertail Grip Sleeve is installed by fitting it over the Glock’s polymer frame until it seats perfectly into position. The sleeve is precision manufactured to provide a secure and comfortable fit. Once installed, the HandALL sleeve’s finger grooves offer instinctive handling and control of the firearm. The grooves lead into a gentle palm swell that has been carefully designed to fit naturally in the hand. The beavertail built into the grip sleeve rises high along the backstrap of the frame. This provides hand comfort higher on the grip. In addition, the beavertail also cushions the hand during recoil by providing better distribution of recoil forces. These built-in features provide comfort and confidence which in turn promote accuracy.

The HandALL is built from a long-lasting durable thermoplastic elastomer compound. This rubber ages very gracefully and keeps a firm, tacky feel throughout the life of the grip. It will not harden, split or crack with age or use. The surface is covered with Hogue’s familiar Cobblestone™ texture, a series of small circular bumps that provide an efficient non-slip, non-irritating grip on the rubber. The Glock 17 HandALL Beavertail Grip Sleeves have an MSRP of $10.95 for black, and $12.95 for OD green, flat dark earth, aqua, pink and purple.

    • I’ve had a number of Hogue products though the years and have always liked each and every one. This started with a grip for my Colt Python decades ago and my most recent OverMolded grip on my AR.
Hogue is one of those companies like Magpul where you just never seem to go wrong with.

  1. I had a Houge grip on an AMT .380 I had. It added needed grip.

The ‘grippiness’ it added made it nearly impossible to draw from the pockets on my cargo shorts…

  2. I have a HandAll Jr. on my Kahr CW9 and I love it. The grips on the Kahr were, to my soft, office hands, extremely sharp and painful, besides being quite narrow. The HandAll solved both problems, making the grip very comfortable and adding small palm swells on both sides of the grip that gave it just the right amount of width. I can comfortably keep shooting until my hand muscles give up in quivering spasms somewhere close to 200 rounds.

    I heartily recommend them.

  3. The Handall Jr. improved the feel of the Kel-Tec PF-9 a good deal. The Shield .45 required the Hogue touch for my purposes. (too rough against the skin without one)

  4. Not related to Gloocks, however I’ve put just about every fancy grip on the 1911 I so dearly enjoy, definitely does dress it up in looks, but for me it’s the Houge finger grips that stay on it. Fits my hand, takes the sting out, and I like the sticky feeling. Now I’m wondering about the slip on sleeve though. I have used them, not Houge brand , and they eventually twist or slip down the grip. Would a being want to use hair spray on them like I used to do when putting grips on my bike bars. That always seemed to work

  5. I’ve had a Hogue sleeve grip in my Glock 17 for about 30 years. It is still as functional today as it was then. Good products! Ands because of this thread, I’ve learned that grips are available for my new Ruger LCP. I’m gonna check into that.

  6. A Hogue is great for duty; wonderful in the cold or rain or with sweaty hands.
We’d wear them out on seatbelt buckles and metal consoles but they are cheap enough to just buy a replacement every couple years. And yes, aiming some hairspray underneath the grip helps just like bicycle grips.
I urged Hogue about a year ago to make these beavertail HandAll grips for Glock 17s – there are, after all, more than a couple out there in use for the past three decades – but they told me in no uncertain terms that it wasn’t gonna happen. Good thing someone saw the light, I’m going to order one now.
