We have a lot to be thankful for. Our freedom, of course. And our ability to defend it against all enemies foreign and domestic by force of arms. And the fact that our readers put food on our table. As you enjoy your family and friends today, or savor your own company, take a moment to appreciate one simple fact: no turkeys were hurt in the making of this post. Yet.

  1. I remember dressing up like Pilgrims for Thanksgiving in first grade. I don’t recall that any of the other Pilgrims in my class were dressed like that! 🙂

  2. Happy Thanksgiving !
If i were back in Rhode Island, I’d be at the Portsmouth vs Middletown high school footbal game.

  3. Happy Thanksgiving to all in the TTAG fellowship. To all your family and friends. I am thankful for this place. And keep up the great work.
    God Bless.

    Beautiful pic by the way!

  4. White meat…dark meat…all pink on the inside. Thigh man too, but a firm breast is always welcome.

Me’thinks next year I’ll have the French maids dressed like pilgrims and and we’ll go hunting them thar turkeys with a blunderbuss.

  5. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Dinner today will be elk tenderloin from east of Newport, tuna steaks from west of Newport, (on the Barbie), and deep fried turkey from somewhere in the woods of Wasco county.
Off to the side are fresh chanterelle mushrooms pan fried in olive oil, butter and some minced garlic.

Hopefully, I can harvest another bull tomorrow as this is the last of the venison. ?

  6. “no turkeys were hurt in the making of this post”…I’m working on it! Happy Thanksgiving to all the TTAG family, and please remember our troops and ‘absent friends’ when you give thanks today.

  7. Had to look at the picture three times before I saw the turkey.

    Happy Thanksgiving they all.

Today I am thankful for great family and friends.

  8. Happy Thanksgiving all! On my menu today is roast duck with Bing cherry sauce, cauliflower mashed “potatoes,” and green beans with caramelized shallots and crumbled bacon. Y’all enjoy your turkey.

  9. Recalling their disdain for each other after another failed effort at a successful take-mutually their minds quietly burn with the thought “I have to work with an amateur like her?”

Both MM and the uncredited Tabitha turkey were members of the SAG……

    • “Playing TTAG drinking game”

      Eh?

What are the ‘rules’ for the TTAG drinking game?

Be advised – when I (used to) play drinking games, I played to lose…

      More fun, that ways…

      *Hic*

      • Still working on rules.

  10. What should have been a holiday caption contest:

Tom Turkey looks on, as he wishes for gun control, in what appears to be his last moments on Earth.

  11. Happy Thanksgiving and give thanks to REAL #GUNSENSE here at TTAG that an armed individual is a FREE individual. Everytime. Always. And how I do ponder trying to understand the point of talking to the enemy AKA the Bloomberg Antis as was posited a few times this week – I do bring the point of fact to also just toy with them too as the legend ACE in his great blog points out in link below. Hilarity ensues just punking the unfriendlys and they oblivious if you do it with smile and pretend you agree with them… God Bless All. #EVERYDAYCARRY! #GUNSSAVELIVES
