  1. What the holy hell am I looking at!? How the hell did they even get an HK slide on an FN frame…. And how do you get it off again? That’ll be the fun part. Getting the slide back off.

  2. I confess I don’t really know my guns but I see an H&K logo on the slide and what looks like an FN logo on the grip.

So, I’m going with it having to do with that.

  3. I’m looking at this on my phone so it’s kind of hard to tell, but is that an H&K slide on an FN frame?

  4. I thought it actually looked really good! I did just lose Pepsi over the counter. My coworkers are very confused.

  5. What’s more, it’s a .45 slide on a 5.7 frame. Throw a .9mm barrel in there and Bob’s your uncle.

    • How about a 45 cal. barrel that’s only been bored out to 9MM at the muzzle?
Firing it could be a life changing event!

        • I don’t think _I_ get the joke. How can a .45 barrel be “bored out to 9mm” when, if my arithmetic is accurate, 9 mm is only about .354″? Isn’t a .45 already .45″? I know I’m practically a gun virgin, but come on!

As to how gun-naive I am, I didn’t even spot the different logos; I was looking at all the levers and buttons and gewgaws and gimcracks alongside the rail.

      • First off he did not say “9mm”, he said “.9mm”, which should clear things up since it makes everything possible. “Boring out at the muzzle” refers to standard interactions between guns from differing makers, reviewed over and over until we’re so bored out we want to eat the muzzle. Even the famed .9mm muzzle.

  6. True story.

Customer has a GLOCK chambered in .45 GAP, .45 ACP ammo, and a G17 magazine. His “new to him” gun wouldn’t work……

  7. Is it sad or good that I picked up on the mismatch by noticing the mag release wasn’t an HK one before I noticed the FNH logo?

  8. Kinda cool, but I doubt that that’s functional. Crossbreed holsters…Funny!
I think that the coolest combo would be a USP slide on a Walther P99 frame.
Hah…Crossbreed…Just can’t stop laughing about that!

  9. How did he get that together? Did he follow the old mantra of “if it doesn’t work, force it?” LOL Good Lord…

  10. Now, that just isn’t fair, I had my coffee just the way I like it (in my cup!), now, it’s not.

How’d he (or they) get the slide on there? Maybe a better question now, how do they get it off? That is just insane.

  11. Talk about the double take of a lifetime! I remember when Glock sued S&W over the Sigma line in the ’90’s. There was an article in one of the magazines (I believe Guns & Ammo probably around 1997 or 1998) on the similarities of the two weapons. The author was actually able to swap slides and the guns worked perfectly.

That being said, I think this guy missed the mark . . .

(On a flip note, it does look cool!!!)

  12. Holy FrankenPistol!

I cocked my head sideways to take in what was going on there, I must have looked like a dog captivated by a piece of bacon.

  13. Haha… I could write a book on some of things I have seen come through our doors at http://www.shootersplus.com/. One that stands out the most is a guy that brought in a really nice “expensive” turkey hunting shotgun and couldn’t figure out why he wasn’t even on the paper when sighting it in. A quick look down the barrel and it was painfully obvious the barrel was bent. A couple questions later we find out that when riding his fourwheeler to his hunting spot he hit on a low hanging tree limb!

  14. I suspect this abomination was constructed for fun in the gun shop (we do screwy things at my LGS all the time). Otherwise this is inexplicable unless the owner keeps random gun parts in a box and assembles them into a gun as needed. How else could this have happened?

Another take: You got FN in my HK! No! You got HK in my FN!

One more: Somewhere there is a guy with an FN slide on an HK frame wondering what the hell happened.

    • What happened was the inevitable consequence of colon carry in condition tactical butterscotch for both your primary and BUG.

  15. Now if I can just get my 1911 slide on a Beretta 92 receiver. Would go well with a bullpup levergun.

  16. Who has money for guns that expensive but has the firearms know ledge of a politician!?

The weird thing is it almost looks like it fits.

  17. Wow. Just – wow.

I’m thinking that had it worked at all, it should have been as a grenade with a 2 millisecond delay; glad it didn’t.

Maybe FPS Россиа can figure out how to get it apart again…?

  18. Yeah, I’ll admit it looked weird with the slide/frame mismatch but it was the “no magazine” aspect that really jumped out at me. I thought I might have been concentrating on the “too obvious” for a while…but thinking about how this guy even attempted to chamber a round to discover it didn’t work without a magazine scares me.

  19. Assuming you can get it stripped all that is needed is the completed slide for the FN and the frame for the H&K

  20. Probably the new Taurus, they just make copies of S&Ws and Berretta’s .
Imagine how much it would cost.

  21. I’m wondering exactly what he tries to put in it to find out it didnt work. 5.7? .45acp? 9mm?

Screw it. Force an AK mag into the well and call it a day.
