Senator Ted Cruz catches Happy Harry Reid referring to his bill now on the Senate floor as “anti-gun legislation.” Slip of the tongue or just letting his mask slip? Hear it for yourself after the jump . . .

    • Not twice. The first time he says “anti-gun legislation”, he then corrects himself later by saying “anti-gun VIOLENCE legislation”. Inattentive ears would probably assume he said the same thing the first time that he said the second time. Cruz does not strike me as inattentive.

  1. Same as Obama catching himself saying the Newtown dirtbag used a semi-auto rifle only to quickly “correct” himself and lie that it was fully automatic.

They know exactly what they’re doing and they’re intentionally lying but sooner or later they slip as we’ve seen.

  2. This had to be planned, some nefarious ulterior motive involved.
If any truth “accidentally” escaped Reid’s lips his head would explode.

  3. 1 anti gun, 1 anti gun violence. Isn’t a shotgun a gun? The pres loves shotguns & hunters & says he would not take away someones right to defend themselves. 2 faced lying pricks?….I didn’t think so, Randy

    • Yes – “Wow” it is! Must’ve felt like he was at home in the Senate and let down his guard and “Shazzam” – out slips the truth!

  4. Delicious. Thank you, Senator Reid, for this early Christmas present. Oh, I mean, “Holiday Gift”. Sorry. I know you Dems get twitchy when Jesus is referenced.

  5. Reid is NOT called “…Happy Harry…” here in NV. More often than not he is called “…STINKY PINKY…”! He DIDNOT walk to school from his home in Searchlight, and the only time he boxed was when he could fight a girl. Even then he got his ass beat!

  6. Is it just me? Or did he say “anti-gun violence” legislation? I don’t like it when people make up shit.

  7. Everybodys all “Texas this Texas that yeehaw alamo”. For those of you complaining that it’s a blue state in disguise, come to Alabama. Down here, we’re red as the blod in my veins. We may have shall issue soon.

  8. Probably the ONLY thing I support Ted Cruz on. Other than gun rights, Ted Cruz is a traitor to the US Consitution. Cruz recently granted Israel blanket immunity for warcrimes. For that, Texans and the country needs to ask him why he’s supporting criminals and stealing money from us to give Israel.

Let’s remember, Cruz is NO Ron Paul.

    • Sorry Eagle1 the fool who’s stealing our money to support criminals is the POTUS himself. He’s given and continues to give money to Egypt, Libya and the Muslim Brotherhood. (Who, by the way, are and will always be enemies of God and the U.S.). Anyone who stands against Israel and funds her enemies is an enemy of the U.S.

      • This is where you are gravely uninformed. The US Constitution gives Israel NO rights as a US entity/state. Yet, you and many americans (such as Rev. John Hagee) support them as such. Prime Minister Crook-in-Cheif Ben Nethanyau even stated, “Israel doesn’t need America’s help, we can take care of ourselves!!!”. Yet Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, and Mitch McConnel are all in full favor of Obama’s policies towards Israel. We give Israel MORE money than ANY OTHER COUNTRY. Most US Vets will support me in denouncing any more aid for Israel. Let them eat their own crap that they stir up.

As an American citizen, you can’t have it both ways. There’s the Constitution and then there’s nothing. As Ben Franklin stated, “A Republic, if you can keep it..”

  9. Texan, born and raised. Yes, there is a stigma of Texas being the “wild west” much more so than Arizona is to some degree. Even though, we don’t have things like constitutional or open carry, in comparison it is fairly nice here.

With respect to actual shooting, I think that a lot of the problems here is that over 95% of the land in Texas is privately owned. It’s not like you can find National Forest or some other wilderness places to practice, which does nothing to “normalize” guns. They end up being confined to shooting ranges and those luck few with rural property.

More to the point, however, most of the carry laws on the books are based in reconstruction. RF wrote an article citing “Yankee Carpetbaggers,” however, in this case it may not be a bad thing. Like Billy Wardlaw (awesome avatar BTW) said we DO need more liberty minded people moving here. So while I have a geographical dislike of “Yankees” (i.e. which in Texas lingo is a lot more than you think), we need pro-gun, pro-liberty activists to prevent our freedoms from being eroded. So welcome, y’all.
