When guns are outlawed, only outlaws have guns. And then you have what the civilian disarmament folks call the “Wild West.” In other words, could the antis be any more wrong? Sure, it’s possible. It’s just hard to see how. Unless you read the journalists’ reports from south of the border. You know, the ones who haven’t been kidnapped, tortured and killed. [h/t TC]

  1. I have always wanted police to just come in and enforce a curfew, pull out their M4s and shoot anyone whos a threat.

Its a battleground over there and they need to be treated like combatants.

    • Yes, I too would like to see government thugs shooting up the streets of a suburban neighborhood, randomly attacking passerby without due process of law or even any clear justification.

      Get bent.

      • I think he needs to develop his idea more but in general i agree. That town has reached the point of needing marshal law. I don’t think indiscriminate shooting is the answer but when police cars get pelted with bottles by a crowd of people who have shut down the streets and are firing randomly, its time for a bit of militaristic action.

        • “militaristic action”?? Yeah, because that worked so well in Iraq and Afgahnistan. Maybe the police could go in and confiscate all of their guns… Or better yet tourture them until they confess…

    • Yeah, it’s pretty insane. I understand why but police departments across the country send SWAT teams to kick people out of foreclosed homes, confiscate firearms, etc. but they don’t send in the cavalry when sideshow participants are firing guns indiscriminately and running people over.

    • It’s really a worst case scenario for the cops; You can return fire without great risk of shooting bystanders, it’s dark, there is a large crowd, it’s surely being filmed (obviously) and you have to question the level of support you’ll receive from above if you do engage. Purposefully or accidentally shoot an innocent and you could cause a large scale riot (similar in some ways to an insurrection) and fan the flames of us Vs them mentalities that are rampant in some communities.

Letting it burn itself out is politically more expedient, safer for the officers physically and legally, and might actually serve the publics interest by not starting a full scale riot.

I’m not saying they should let this go on, I’m saying that I can understand why they would.

On the other hand, what do the beginnings of an insurrection look like? Does it look like a group of people taking over a street or neighborhood, displaying force and demonstrating their loyalty to their group? Would it include standing down the agents of government sent to restore order (reassert power)?

I think we forget sometimes that we, the AI, aren’t the only people in the country who feel disenfranchised, oppressed and angry. Perhaps we aren’t even the only ones who legitimately feel so.

  2. Yet Dianne Feinstein (aka Ms.Palpatine) swears that their gun laws are working. Anytime when anyone is gonna tell you that gun control works, show them this video. What a EPIC FAIL!

  3. Nice to see the PD going after the actual law-breakers instead taking legally owned firearms away from people arrested for smoking pot in the 1970’s.

  4. I would not like to see mainstream American “journalists” kidnapped, tortured and killed.

Waterboarded, maybe, but that’s as far as I’m willing to go.

        • It’s not lost on me. I see what you were going for. The problem is your joke was not internally consistent.

Waterboarding = torture. You are against torture, yet you advocate for waterboarding, which is torture? If you had said something about giving reporters the lash (corporal punishment), or tarred and feathered during their own news segment (public shaming), I would’ve found that a bit more amusing.

Otherwise, humor fail. 3/10 for effort.

        • Actually he said kidnapped, tortured AND killed he isn’t ok with but maybe he is with torture (water boarding) only.

That sounds pretty consistent to me.

  5. So the ANTIS want just the police and military to have the guns. In the video above the commentator pointed out that the BAAAAAAD guys out numbered the cops. But, there are laws against all of the bad things going on in the videos. So to any ANTIS who might be perusing these pages please take note the laws aren’t stopping those who don’t obey the laws. Hey Dianne Frankenstein where are you?

  6. Even worse than the outlaws having guns, the government will still have guns. Government employees are more dangerous than any “criminal”.

  7. When the inmates are running the asylum we should expect nothing less than what is seen there. Stick Jerry Brown and DiFi’s bony ass in the middle of that zoo without any cover one night. They’d disappear for good.

  8. So Oakland cops are useless. Noted. Pathetic. And another example showing that our so called “justice” system is a complete joke.

  9. The only modern scenario that can duplicate the “Wild West”, as they call it, is for ONLY the Police and the Criminals to be armed. Once you arm the citizenry, the check and balance is restored to the other two. This video is a case in point.

  10. That whole news segment is an insult both to news and the “wild” West.

I know what the newsies would say if neighborhood residents or business owners banded together to do what the police can’t/won’t do. I wonder what they’d call it if the police started rolling up on these “sideshows” in their MRAPs with riot shields and rifles at the ready. What would we call it?

  11. Welcome to the Terrordome.

You have something (lots) to lose, so you contain yourself. They got nuthin’, and have the safety of a crowd. Go nuts.

  12. Dozens of gangbangers with guns driving on the sidewalk and shooting wildly in every direction is why nobody needs more than 7 bullets.

  13. I’m in Oakland a couple of times a week in my company car, a retired crown vic cop car with the cage still in place. There are times I’m downright nervous.

Oakland has no gun stores and they don’t sell ammo there. According to the anti’s Oakland ought to be a crime free paradise.

    • Looks like it already is the left/anti’s utopia. All the people in the video feel good about themselves and have plenty of self esteem. Assuming their on government payments, then it is their utopia.

  14. I watched a gang documentary about Oakland the other day, there were gang members on there saying they could get ARs and AKs on streets for around a few hundred dollars.

And, one 14 yr old carried a little throw away .25 auto, he was strutting around with, guess how much he paid, 50 bucks.

Gun control only controls people that follow the law.

  15. Lol, thems streets that raised me

Everyone messes with the cops out there, they have some sort of God complex more than anywhere I’ve ever visited. While Oakland is no picnic, you can’t be angry at the people for refusing to conform to the Illuminati’s system of control 😉

The gov’t keeps the violence high by keeping everyone on welfare and all around treating them badly.

  16. Chicago, Detroit, Oakland, Compton, Baltimore, why does it seem that gun free liberal enclaves suffer from lawlessness? How can progressive liberals who worship government and want it to be their ultimate benefactor have so little grasp on how tyranny starts? Why does no one understand that the Wild West was actually more civilized since men were men, women were women, people worked hard or starved, god was feared, the law was swift, and people relied on their selves and their firearms. Now I fear this blight will spread, and will be met with more govt fixes involving the same bad medicine.

  17. When has Oakland ever been a law abiding town?

There are just some cities that are cesspools: Oakland, Chicago, Washington DC, Boston, Atlanta, Memphis, New York, Baltimore, and Philadephia. Do not use them as the example of what’s wrong in our society.

    • My sifu’s great grandfather or uncle (I forget exactly) was the chief of police in Oakland way back when. He’s done some research into his family history. Apparently his ancestor, the Chief Law Enforcement Officer for the city was clearing $10,000 a month in bribes at one time. So yeah, Oakland’s always been fscked.

  18. Most of Oakland is actually quite nice. There are only a handful of small, bad areas with a gang problem. Any crime rate decrease can be attributed to one thing: gentrification.

  19. Was I the only person who noticed that the guy in the black jacket, firing into the air, was shooting a Hi-Point? It made me laugh. Trying to be gangsta with a Hi-Point.

  20. How many regular commentors on TTAG advocate just this, stand up to the cops? You see it all the time here. But when it happens those same people are strangely quiet or even critical of the Oakland PD for running from the fight.

And if the Oakland PD had stayed for the fight, even brought an mrap out, I wonder what the response from this site and the AI would have been?

    • I think we can all see a difference between police officers harassing law abiding citizens that show no threat towards society and the hypothetical application of an MRAP to a group of obviously violent citizens with no respect for the law or anyone’s safety.

  21. Anyone who wonders what it will be like in large, leftist-run cities during a 2-3 week power outage can look at this film for a really good preview. Or read about LA in the Rodney King riots, when the cops abandoned the honest folks. And the news media called the people protecting their stores and homes by the non-judgmental name “snipers”. Welcome to anarchy, leftist style.
