Worcester, Massachusetts police say that 20-year-old Jeremy Cintron worked as an aspiring armed robber. Potentially voted “Most Likely to Be Imprisoned” by his high school class, Cintron knew the Bay State’s onerous gun laws keep most of his potential victim pool disarmed. He didn’t count on a witness having a gun though.

From WHDH TV:

Worcester police officers responding to a reported fight involving a gun on Seymour Street about 6:36 p.m. were met by a 47-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman who said they were on their way home when they saw a man holding a woman at gunpoint.

Fearing for the woman’s safety, the couple said the man pulled out a gun and pointed it at the robber, police said.

Police say that at about 6:36pm on Sunday, a 47-year-old concealed carry licensee and his girlfriend observed Cintron robbing a 29-year-old woman with an H&R 9-shot rimfire revolver. Right away, the CCW holder drew his own firearm and challenged the robber.  At first, Cintron tried to bluff the good Samaritan into backing off. Soon though, he wisely surrendered to the bigger gun and the very determined man behind it.

While the girlfriend called police, the CCW holder made the mistake of trying to pin the punk to the ground.

After ordering to the ground, the man said he put his knee on his back and pushed the gun away from him while his girlfriend called the police. While waiting for the police to arrive, the man said Cintron struggled with him and fired a round into the pavement while grabbing for his gun.

Cintron escaped from the CCW holder, sans gun, but police caught up with him minutes later.

Thankfully, nobody suffered any serious injuries.

Mr. Cintron, now permanently without his H&R Model 929 .22 revolver, faces a long list of charges. They include discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery, armed assault with intent to rob, witness intimidation, possession of a firearm without a LTC, unlawful carrying of a loaded firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.  Apparently Worcester, MA does not have a Chicago-style criminal justice system.

On the other hand, the CCW holder received thanks from both police and the would-be victim for his selfless act.

  1. Good on the CCW holder. Getting that close obviously wasn’t a great idea but all’s well that ends well.

I hate the ‘offenses against bureaucracy’ crap they charge these guys with though. Things like “possession without LTC” and “possession of ammunition without FID” only serve to legitimize those infringements.

    • I heartily support locking up the attacker and throwing away the key.

Having said that, I agree that “possession without LTC” and “possession of ammunition without FID” should not be crimes, even in this case.

      • Yea some b/s crap charges .. the robbery / assults and should carry enough time all on there own .. end of story .

      • There’s got to be some lesser charges he’ll plead to so DA can drop the rest of the charges but still call it a win because they got a guilty verdict on something… we’ll see this guy again in a couple months.

  2. This story has gotta be fiction. It’s common sense knowledge that the idea of a good guy with a gun stopping a bad guy with a gun is just a fantasy cooked up by evil and duplicitous gun owners to justify their ammosexual and gun humping fetishes, or something.

  3. Friendly suggestion: do NOT attempt to grab or pin the attacker if they have already surrendered and are laying face down on the ground. I would simply stand back about 10 feet with gun in hand, pointing at the ground, and ready to point-and-shoot if the attacker suddenly rescinds his/her surrender.

    • +1
As private citizens we’re under no obligation – and incur a high level of risk – to go hands-on and take some perp into custody. If you can ballistically convince a bad guy to spreadeagle on the pavement, that’s great. But if, upon interrupting his criminal tasks, he flees – you’re better to make sure the victim is okay and be a good witness for the cops. Your intervention saved the day – let the police do the mop up.

That all said, CCR guy did a good deed, was thankfully not punished for it by the state, and wasn’t damaged by the bad guy.

      • Too bad the CCW holder didn’t just execute the bastard and save the people of the Commonwealth some money and future aggravation when he gets out on “good behavior.” Sorry but when you decide to put someone’s life in danger by putting a gun to their head you don’t deserve to be in a civilized society.

    • In hindsight, that would have been wiser.

I’m just glad the ricochet didn’t hit anyone, or there would be riots demanding concealed carry in Taxachucetts be eliminated…

  4. i think i’m going to start playing the devils advocate on stuff like this so we can see a glimpse of what a anti-gunner would say.

“what an idiot. he could have gotten himself shot. thats why we have police. they should have just called the police and let them handle stuff like this. he just wanted her money anyway. give them the money and they will go away!”
“did anybody see the video of the cop choking the kid at waffle house? cops are nothing but bullies behind badges”

i think i nailed it. couldn’t stop laughing the entire time.

    • Okay, you’re the devil’s advocate so I’m going to guess you don’t mean the comment about “cops being bullies behind badges.” When I was I was high was in high school I had a teacher. Mr. Lammar Ford. A Korea War veteran. Mr. Ford taught us many things above and beyond what he was required.I remember once he began to speak on law enforcement. I was in the tenth grade. Mr. Ford said, ” A law enforcement officer should be the most humble man on earth. He has all the power where he is.” I had no intention of getting into law enforcement at the time. In fact, fell into it accidentally in my early 30’s. Long story. I always tried to remember what Mr. Ford said about being humble.

  5. Cintron released on his on recognizance by a liberal bastard Massachusetts judge and never seen again in:
    3, 2, 1…

    • John…..He will probably sue the individual that stopped him, then the state will get the citizen for brandishing a loaded weapon with intent to violate the perps. civil rights.

  6. The girlfriend needed a gun too, to be proper backup. The good Samaritan almost became the dead Samaritan. If his girlfriend was armed she should have fired as soon as the robber ceased to be compliant.

Of course the victim could have been armed as well. The robber might have still caught her off guard, but she might have been able to defend herself if he was distracted rather than getting lucky someone else stepped in. Or at least when the robber started dealing with the good Samaritan. Maybe the experience will encourage her to seek some ballistic protection.

Anyway a good outcome all around

  7. Dave in So Cal, responded to more than one call was holding bad guy at gun point. Second, trained (at the academy I have to admit) to pin the suspect to the ground. Done it a couple of times. My standard command was, “Move and I’ll blow a smoking fucking whole through your head.” Not P.C., but effective. Never met any resistance to that command.

  8. Good job. I’m just surprised MA had given out a permit, and that man wasn’t arrested for assault himself. Good to see they gave him an ‘atta boy.

  9. What ?!? Massachusetts in the news!?? In a slightly positive light ?!?!? Well we all know its not Pro2@ because there is NO 2nd Amendment here in Massachusetts…Only a Local/State Police Privileges to the “Privileged Few”…Especially in Worcester, Ma. Since THEY don’t issue LTCs like candy on Halloween in that city-state…Most likely a “friend of a Police Officer/Politician/slicking and greasing of the squeaking wheels of bureaucracy…Because in Massachusetts, It’s NOT who you known but who YOU B**$¥…Nevermind…Anyway, unrestricted LTCs are no Available to all lawful Massachusetts residents because there is NO 2nd Amendment here to exercise according to DemoCRAPS and some RINOs operating this Country-State…Well, tally ho to this kind gentleman…He MUST be from another community that is a little more lose at giving out Unrestricted LTCs to its Citizens…Otherwise the 29 year female victim would have been “Constitutionally ARMED” and the PERP riddled full of holes on a Worcester city street…

  10. …If President Trump “Forced” Massachusetts by law to uphold the US Constitutions 2nd Amendment…Then there would be an “Instant Check ✔ system” in place and a “Constitutional Carry Law…” As was indicated a long time ago by the NRA in discussions about the original “supposed” intent of how the “Brady Bill “would evolve to support freedom…But that never happened…If this type of Constitutional system was in place to support of the constitutional rights of the PEOPLE…THERE WOULD BE NO CRIME VICTIMS ! Just expired would-be peeps….

  11. Now, will that show up in somebody’s DGU statistics? Oh, never mind — they won’t publish them anyway.
