You’d think that the design, engineering and manufacturing challenges of producing the new sub-sub compact GLOCK 43 would be fairly routine for Gaston’s mob. The 43 is, after all, a GLOCK. All GLOCKs do the same thing the same way. Apparently that’s not the case. In an interview above, one of the engineers responsible for the long-awaited foetal GLOCK (as opposed to the “baby GLOCK” G26) explains the difficulties his team encountered during the pistol’s genesis. The main revelation: marketing played a key role in the 43’s development and long-delayed release. Who knew?

  1. That’s funny stuff right there.

And as long as the reviews are good and someone makes an extended magazine for the G43, I’m gonna get me one! No April foolin’!

      • It’s not the capacity, it’s the ergonomics. All I need is room for my pinky finger on the grip. Glocks generally kill with a single shot.

        • “Glocks generally kill with a single shot.”

Seriously? And I suppose you live on the corner of unicorn and happy too? Here is a song for you.

  2. Wow he’s basically saying we consumers are all idiots. Unfortunately he has a point. Certainly, I will never buy another Glock if this person actually represents Glock.

  3. The guy is talking in spanish (with a bit of a southern Spain accent) and this is basically the funny counterpart to Hitler’s, Downfall running gag. Funny stuff indeed. Well done guys.

    • He only has one left. Two of them popped out earlier in the conversation when they were talking about the Glock 1911 everyone sees on the forums.

  4. This is the best thing I’ve seen all day. Actually had me for a few seconds…….I hoped I’d find a good one today!

  5. For those curious, yes this is an April fools joke, no this isnt an actual GLOCK engineer. This is a common video meme; people take this video clip and put humorous subtitles, generally in a format of “Shocking interview with glock/apple/Nvidia/whatever engineer about the G43/Macbook/970/whatever controversy”. The toothless laughing guy is part of a well known spanish comedy duo, their shtick is basically him telling various funny stories in this down-home country bumpkin style, puntuated by lots of laughing. This particular clip he is relating some story about when he was working in a kitchen, and he was instructed to clean some dirty paella pans, so they left them out on the beach for the rain/sand to do some of the cleaning for them, only to go out and retrieve them to find that the surf/waves had washed them away (I could be wrong on particulars, my spanish is not very strong and my ear is mostly attuned to central/south american/carribean dialects/accents.

  6. Who knew that a Spanish comedian moonlights as a Glock engineer.

OTOH, that would explain the recoil spring fiasco, wouldn’t it?

  7. Funny, but only the “gotta have it right now” buyers will drive a short term suckers market enabling full retail or greater prices. A large national LE Dealer that is also one of the largest Glock Distributors in the U.S. offering Glocks for sale to the general public has already published a commercial price for the Glock 43 at $449 and the LE price (same as the Glock Blue Label Program price) at $358. I placed my order and the total with tax came in at $387 with delivery scheduled for mid April.

  8. All humor has an element of truth. It makes you wonder what was going on behind closed doors at Glock. I would never suggest that they think their customers are stupid. That would be crazy.

  9. If I was M&P, I’d be posting this vid everywhere; it not even a joke, it’s satire at its’ finest. Glock is like the Apple of the gun world: The fans will defend a ripoff product as long as that G is on the side of the frame.
